This volume contains the main proceedings of the fourth international conference on "Cancer Prevention 2006," which was held during February 16-18, 2006, in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The 1st International Symposium "Minimal Residual Disease in Melanoma: Biology, Detection and Clinical Relevance of Microme tastases", held in September 1999 in Homburg/Saar, Germany, fo cused on recent developments in this particular area of cancer re search.

In spite of great advance made by ENT and maxillofacial surgeons as well as radiotherapists to improve therapy of cancer of the oral cavity and oropharynx, it has not been possible in the past 4 decades to raise the chances of patient survival above 40%-45%.
