This book provides a comparative study of the administrative litigation systems in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao, as well as in a number of selected European countries including both states with an advanced rule of law and new democracies.

Rarely do acts of civil disobedience come in such grand fashion as TaiwanΓÇÖs Sunflower Movement and Hong KongΓÇÖs Umbrella Movement. The two protests came in regions and jurisdictions that many have underestimated as regards furthering notions of political speech, democratisation, and testing the limits of authority.
