Nach vier vorangegangenen Sets praktischer Übungen in vorangegangenen Manuskripten, die von mir als Autor geschrieben wurden, habe ich mich bei der Erstellung dieses Manuskripts von meinen früheren Unterrichtsmodulen inspirieren lassen. In diesem Manuskript wurde eine Reihe von 33 zusammenhängend geschriebenen praktischen Übungen mit Software aus dem Bereich der Verbesserung persönlicher Fähigkeiten in einem ähnlichen Stil wie in den vorangegangenen Manuskripten vorgelegt. Diese Übungen eignen sich besser für die Anfängerstufe in Universitätskursen. Natürlich kann die Anwendbarkeit auf fortgeschrittene Kurse von vielen Akademikern nach eigenem Ermessen geschätzt werden. Es wird hier festgehalten, dass Anpassungen dieser Übungen durch Akademiker an ihre Bedürfnisse sehr wohl möglich sind. Den Studierenden wird empfohlen, für jede Übung eine gute/praktikable Zusammenfassung zu erstellen sowie einen angemessenen Bericht zu schreiben und die erforderlichen Referenzen anzugeben. Für jede Übung ist ein Teil der Analyse erforderlich, um ihr Denken und ihre kritischen/professionellen Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln. Die meisten Übungen wurden für Computer/Laptops sowie für die derzeit im Trend liegenden Smartphones/Tablets entwickelt. Die Schüler sollten angemessen mit ihrem Betreuer kommunizieren, dem wiederum empfohlen wird, vernünftige Nachbereitung zu betreiben.

Im Aufmacher bemängelt Thomas Etzemüller ein Ungleichgewicht: In historischen Darstellungen der Zwischenkriegszeit kommen neben den Totalitarismen die durchaus vorhandenen mehr oder weniger stabilen Demokratien auf nicht ganz nachvollziehbare Weise zu kurz. Alexander Blankenagel schildert in düsteren Details die aktuelle Lage in Russland - Gründe zur Hoffnung scheinen dabei keine vorhanden. Von einer ein paar Jahre zurückliegenden Reise nach Armenien berichtet Bernhard Malkmus, mit stetem Bezug zum bedrohlichen Konflikt mit Aserbaidschan, nicht nur um Berg-Karabach. Die Entstehung und strategische Wandlung der Hisbollah schildert Zain Samir, nicht zuletzt vor dem Hintergrund eines drohenden Krieges mit Israel.   Anders als Thomas Steinfeld in seiner Merkur-Rezension ist Eva Geulen ganz und gar nicht damit einverstanden, wie Erhard Schüttpelz in seinem Buch "Deutland" die Geschichte der Literaturwissenschaft seit mehr als hundert Jahren abzuräumen versucht. Mit der Rolle von Essens-, genauer: Besteckszenen als Klassismus-Anzeigern in der neueren Literatur beschäftigt sich Carlos Spoerhase.   Mit abstraktem soziologischem Instrumentarium nähert sich Stefan Hirschauer der Eskalation des Israel-Palästina-Konflikts dann doch immer wieder durchaus konkret. Sandro Paul Heidelbach wirft den Blick der Zukunft auf die Gegenwart des Anthropozän. Zugespitzte Physiognomien des Faschismus und des Nationalsozialismus entwirft Moritz Rudolph. In Susanne Neuffers Erzählung "Hingabe und Verzückung" kommt es zu einer Wiederbegegnung mit einem Angehimmelten bei einem Missionskongress.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 49th International Conference on Current Trends in Theory and Practice of Computer Science, SOFSEM 2024, held in Cochem, Germany, in February 2024. The 33 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 81 submissions. The book also contains one invited talk in full paper length. They focus on original research and challenges in foundations of computer science including algorithms, AI-based methods, computational complexity, and formal models.

»Media Concentration Law in the Digital Age«: In the interest of democracy, individual media companies must be prevented from gaining opinion power. To this end, media concentration is regulated in accordance with the Interstate Media Treaty. However, recent developments in the media sector have led to an inconsistent regulatory regime, which no longer adequately covers all media players relevant to the formation of public opinion. This publication analyzes the issue in the context of both a media law and competition law framework and presents a legislative proposal suitable for restoring regulatory effectiveness.

»Criticism of the Record Date System in German Stock Corporation Law. The Need for an Effective Reconnection between the Legal Owner of Voting Right and the Interests of the Beneficial Owner as Total Loss Carrier«: The record date system under stock corporation law bears the risk of a separation between the risk of total loss and voting rights. The thesis shows that, according to economic considerations and principles of company law, an effective mechanism is necessary to reconnect the legal owner of the voting right to the interests of the beneficial owner as total loss carrier, but de lege lata no effective mechanism exists.

Dieses Buch bietet einen Überblick über die neuesten Implementierungen von Quanten-Zufallszahlengeneratoren (QRNGs) und untersucht insbesondere deren Beziehung zu klassischen statistischen Zufallsmodellen und numerischen Techniken zur Berechnung von Zufallszahlen. Der Leser - der idealerweise einen Hintergrund in klassischer Statistik, Informatik oder Kryptographie hat - wird Schritt für Schritt in die Welt der Quantenbits eingeführt, und es werden explizite Beziehungen zwischen QRNGs und ihren klassischen Gegenstücken aufgezeigt. Die Erzeugung von Zufallszahlen ist eine wichtige Säule der Kryptographie. Die Nutzung des Zufalls, der Quantenphänomenen innewohnt, ist ein sich rasch entwickelnder Zweig der Quantenkryptografie mit unzähligen Anwendungen für die Zukunft. Der Wert der Quantenzufälligkeit für kryptografische Zwecke wird empirisch durch statistische Auswertungen der Leistung von QRNGs im Vergleich zu klassischen Techniken zur Erzeugung echter und pseudozufälliger Zahlen nachgewiesen. Das Buch bietet dann einen Überblick über die technischen Implementierungen von QRNGs, bevor eine abschließende Diskussion über die wichtigsten Errungenschaften und verbleibenden Hindernisse auf diesem Gebiet die Berichterstattung abrundet und gleichzeitig die Tür für zukünftige Forschungsrichtungen öffnet.
