Thema der vorliegenden Abhandlung sind die religionsphilosophischen Konsequenzen der Theorie des kommunikativen Handelns von Jürgen Habermas. Obwohl Habermas seine sprachpragmatische Rationalitäts- und Modernitätstheorie als nachmetaphysisches Denken versteht, ist es bemerkenswert, dass ein Begriff von Unbedingtheit noch eine zentrale Rolle in dieser Theorie spielt. Der Verfasser versucht zu zeigen, dass dieses Moment des Habermas'-schen Denkens sich als Schnittpunkt von zwei wirkungsgeschichtlichen Linien begreifen lässt, die von Hegel beziehungsweise Kierkegaard ausgehen. In diesem Sinne lässt es sich als eine letzte säkularisierte Transformationen des Gottesgedankens verstehen.Auf diesem Hintergrund erwägt der Verfasser - wiederum im Spannungsfeld zwischen Hegel un Kierkegaard -, welche Form von Theologie das Denken von Habermas noch erlauben würde.
