In the summer of 2023, I conducted a creative writing workshop, intending to empower girls by providing a creative outlet for their imagination. The aim was to do this for at least 30 girls from a government-funded school in India. The workshop started with a brief on plot creation and culminated in the learners writing original stories with the theme of women empowerment. Of these, 5 moving stories were shortlisted for editing and eventual publication The girls demonstrated impressive courage sharing their plans for higher education and career ambitions. I witnessed first-hand the power education holds as a tool for empowerment.I hope you enjoy this collection of short stories. On 28th January 2014, there was a countywide raid by the CBI for alleged recruitment fraud committed in Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), which took place in the year 2007-08. The CBI started its witch-hunt in the year 2014 but by then most top executives of Bokaro Steel Plant(BSL) relating to the recruitment processes, including the then MD, Bokaro Steel Plant, Sri VK Srivastava had retired from the Company. "Bangalir Cholar Pothe (Bihar o Jharkhand)" is an attempt to capture the glorious past and present of the Bengalis of greater Bihar (Bihar & Jharkhand) by the author, Aniruddha Ghosh, who has spent his entire adolescence in the town of Raiganj in North Dinajpur on the West Bengal- Bihar border. Aniruddha Ghosh received his bachelor''s degree in chemistry and master''s degree in biochemistry from Calcutta University. After retiring as Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the production department of a multinational company, he started to collect information for writing this book. The work on this book started back on 10 August 2019, but the Covid situation delayed his work. With great perseverance, he continued working, and finally, his patience has borne fruit. During the formation of Bihar province, the Bengalis of this region, who have been living here for ages, were acknowledged as expatriate Bengalis and are now recognized as a linguistic minority. The book records the contribution of Bengalis in the development of the villages. It also records the life and activities of the noble Bengalis who were associated with these cities by birth or by career and the efforts of the Bengali organizations to preserve their culture and heritage which, indeed can be considered as a source of pride for the future generations
