I was born in a Harlem Hospital raised in Hell's Kitchen. I ran the streets of Harlem New York, and my public school was in Harlem, also in Hell's Kitchen. Thanks to my sister for giving me the inspiration to write my story. I began writing poetry in 1995 and life was hard, looking back; God has blessed me, and I have seen a lot in my lifetime. I have tried to better my life and tried helping others on the way. I went to Manhattan Bible Institute of New York for about a year. I graduated 1987 as an Evangelist then I moved to Hudson, New York. I joined State Street A.M.E. Zion Church and under the leadership of my Pastor, for about 3 years of studying, I had to travel from Hudson to New York and to other churches for my class. I moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and I joined Smith Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion church, and I was ordain on 6-13-98 under the leadership of my pastor, I learned a lot. I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. This is the first book and poetry and I pray it won't be my last. May God bless you and may it bring you hope.

When I was pondering a name for this book, I heard a small voice saying to me, "Look at you. You are like an evergreen pine that has stood the test of times. It bends in the wind, bears the summer heat and the winter snow, laughs at the coolness of fall, and gets ready for the songbirds to nest in the spring."At that time, the name Evergreen Pines: Book of Religious Poetry was born.

Recovery Happens through Christ is taken from the journals of Marilynne Harrison, an otherwise regular person who found herself sexually abused as a child and exposed to a world of sin in such a way as to bring tears to one's eyes. By the time she was eleven, Marilynne was exposed to drugs, alcohol, and sex; and worst of all, was told to keep her situation to herself. The results of being robbed of her childhood led Marilynne to continue to live her life in the only way she knew, by continuing in the same sins. Finally, many years later, Marilynne makes a dramatic turn to God. He lifts her out of her pit in a truly impossible way. This book covers seventeen painful and then triumphant years in Marilynne' s life. She shares her tremendous struggles with sin, painful choices leading to more wrongdoing, and finally, a real call from our ultimate Savior, Jesus Christ. Celebrate her recovery and find hope for your own recovery, or that of your loved ones. Are you struggling with drugs, alcohol, and wrong sexual relationships? Are you trapped in a sex addiction and can't find your way out? Do you long to understand the relationship between the Christian and homosexuality? Is there real hope for gay and lesbian recovery? Do you feel as if there is no possibility for addiction recovery or abuse recovery? Before you lose all hope, find some quiet reading time and read the story of a lady with all the same reoccurring temptations and failures. With all her miserable existence, she provides hope to those who know exactly what she is talking about when she discusses her deplorable and self-destructive lifestyle. Do not give another moment of your life to yourself and Satan. Instead, allow yourself to be guided by the Holy Spirit to the One who also understands your temptations and is able to finally give you relief. Jesus Christ died for you, just as much as He did for Marilynne and the whole world. Just as He rescued Marilynne and gave her new life, He can surely do the same for you too.We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard ... People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood (Romans 3:22-25)

During the trip to north, Matt matures from a boy to a young man in what becomes a "coming of age" story. e experiences on the trek, the challenges he faces day to day as he searches for his father, and the friendships he develops make the book memorable and hard to put down once the story begins. at is especially true in the developing relationship with the beautiful Ami-Ruth who provides a new dimension to his life as the conflict surrounding them threatens to consume them both.

Life was different back in the day. Community was vital. Childhood antics, teenage exploits, and the challenges of young adulthood revealed I didn't know what I thought I knew. Through all of this, the greatest influence of my life was my mom. She helped me process the good and the bad. Instead of being one-dimensional live, love, and laugh with the great intention and anticipation of more. As she is no longer with me her words and laughter linger on, and I am emancipated. I learned that the greatest gift of life was and truly is love; unpretentious, nurtured, and existing to be shared with others.

Where was Jesus and what was he doing during the many centuries of Old Testament history? If Jesus had personal contact with people only after being born in Bethlehem, where was he for the hundreds of years while the Jewish people lived their lives. suffered and struggled, and were in need of direction and support? If he really cares for people, is it rational to believe that during that time he was not engaged at all in human history?Using a fresh and little explored empirically-based approach and resources including the Septuagint, three keys are found which in the New Testament reliably distinguish the person and work of Christ from that of God the Father. Guidelines for the use of the keys are established, and these guidelines are then applied to 25 selected passages in the Old Testament where the divine is definitely at work. When this is done, the results clearly show that Jesus Is There, at work in the Old Testament and doing far more with people than most of us ever thought. You are invited to examine these in-depth studies with the prospect that you may arrive at a truly broadened understanding of Jesus Christ.

This is a compilation of writings that span a period of over 40 years. Inspired by various happenings and experiences, both socially and personally, I wanted readers to reflect on their own experiences and feelings that have impacted their lives. From earlier writings to the present, there was a shift in my views and thinking because of the impact of my relationship with the Father, through Jesus the Christ, my Lord and Savior.

This is a day to day journal about the 5000 miles boat trip known as "The Loop or "The Great Circle". A young man's dream of doing this trip after reading a book about it. After working on the sailboat, it was ready to make the trip. There was some hair-raising experience and a lot of fun times spent as we grew closer as a couple. There is a lot of history and beauty on the water to experience. I would encourage everyone to follow their dreams whatever it might be.

Rev. Wallace A. Evans is my grandfather who lived to be 100 years old. He was born August 22, 1884 and he died November 29, 1984. My grandfather was a man among men. I have come to realize he will live on in all of us. If I were to sum up his life in a song it would be, "I'm A Soldier in the Army of The Lord." It is an honor to be labeled a soldier in the Lord's army. It's even greater honor if your journey lasts 100 years. His dedicated life has left a profound impartation upon mine. It has been a great pleasure and honor to write about him. Old soldiers, they don't die, they just fade away is both a poetic and prophetic way to sum up my grandfather's inspiring life.

I was sitting in a waiting room and looked for something to read. There were a couple of children's books and that was it. I thumbed through them - same books sixty years ago.I thought I needed to do a children's book. - A parent could interact with. So, I came up with "Hard Facts."It's compiled of things that mom and dad would tell you not to do, and like most children, it went in one ear and out the other. It was never retained in the brain. So, when your mom and dad weren't around, you did it.I talked to the ER nurses, and they gave me actual situations that happened over the years by children that did not listen.I found an artist and we came up with "Diputs" and reacted out each possible rule ending in possible death.I showed the book to teachers, police, doctors, and firefighters and got great reviews. Around 80% of "mothers" said it was too graphic for their children.I went back to the drawing board and tamed it down. Now, about 50% of mothers said to tame it down more. So, it went back to the artist one more time and we decided that it was enough. It's not a perfect world and you can't wrap your children in bubble wrap. Nobody can watch their children 24-7. Kids will be kids, but with "Hard Facts," you can go page by page with your child and this time it won't go in one ear and out the other.

Though she did her best, she couldn't give him what he needs as to information about his father. To add to that, she told him all about his mother, but she wouldn't talk about her son. It was this lack of information that didn't allow him closure. He feels if he had a better understanding of who his father was it would help him. Though he knows that he'll never get his father back he feels the next-best thing would be to walk, "In his footsteps." In doing what he proposed to do may give him something to start a new life from.Though he sees some problems in what he decides to do, he also feels it will be worth it. As with so many things we decide to do, he finds himself with more than he expected. One of the things he learns is that no matter what you do; you're apt to touch the lives of others. So if you're up to a story full of adventure, action, mystery, suspense and a few tears: Start turning the pages for a story you will find hard to believe.
