I was born in a Harlem Hospital raised in Hell's Kitchen. I ran the streets of Harlem New York, and my public school was in Harlem, also in Hell's Kitchen. Thanks to my sister for giving me the inspiration to write my story. I began writing poetry in 1995 and life was hard, looking back; God has blessed me, and I have seen a lot in my lifetime. I have tried to better my life and tried helping others on the way. I went to Manhattan Bible Institute of New York for about a year. I graduated 1987 as an Evangelist then I moved to Hudson, New York. I joined State Street A.M.E. Zion Church and under the leadership of my Pastor, for about 3 years of studying, I had to travel from Hudson to New York and to other churches for my class. I moved to Poughkeepsie, NY and I joined Smith Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion church, and I was ordain on 6-13-98 under the leadership of my pastor, I learned a lot. I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. This is the first book and poetry and I pray it won't be my last. May God bless you and may it bring you hope.

When I was pondering a name for this book, I heard a small voice saying to me, "Look at you. You are like an evergreen pine that has stood the test of times. It bends in the wind, bears the summer heat and the winter snow, laughs at the coolness of fall, and gets ready for the songbirds to nest in the spring."At that time, the name Evergreen Pines: Book of Religious Poetry was born.

This novel traces the journey taken by Cynthia as she began to search for love. Her grandmother, who she thought was her mother until she was thirteen, raised her. Daniel because of his jealousy and physical abuse. Nathan and Cole didn't last because she couldn't move her sons away from their fathers. And her marriage to Robert ended because of his alcoholism and verbal abuse. In the end, it was Craig who became her one true love. The man she tracked down to help her find a soulmate.

Rev. Wallace A. Evans is my grandfather who lived to be 100 years old. He was born August 22, 1884 and he died November 29, 1984. My grandfather was a man among men. I have come to realize he will live on in all of us. If I were to sum up his life in a song it would be, "I'm A Soldier in the Army of The Lord." It is an honor to be labeled a soldier in the Lord's army. It's even greater honor if your journey lasts 100 years. His dedicated life has left a profound impartation upon mine. It has been a great pleasure and honor to write about him. Old soldiers, they don't die, they just fade away is both a poetic and prophetic way to sum up my grandfather's inspiring life.

I was sitting in a waiting room and looked for something to read. There were a couple of children's books and that was it. I thumbed through them - same books sixty years ago.I thought I needed to do a children's book. - A parent could interact with. So, I came up with "Hard Facts."It's compiled of things that mom and dad would tell you not to do, and like most children, it went in one ear and out the other. It was never retained in the brain. So, when your mom and dad weren't around, you did it.I talked to the ER nurses, and they gave me actual situations that happened over the years by children that did not listen.I found an artist and we came up with "Diputs" and reacted out each possible rule ending in possible death.I showed the book to teachers, police, doctors, and firefighters and got great reviews. Around 80% of "mothers" said it was too graphic for their children.I went back to the drawing board and tamed it down. Now, about 50% of mothers said to tame it down more. So, it went back to the artist one more time and we decided that it was enough.It's not a perfect world and you can't wrap your children in bubble wrap. Nobody can watch their children 24-7. Kids will be kids, but with "Hard Facts," you can go page by page with your child and this time it won't go in one ear and out the other.

In His Footsteps: Is a story that was written with our country's veterans in mind. It is also for the survivors left behind, by the ones that died in battle. Jeff O'Connor is a thirty-plus-year-old man who lost his father in the Vietnam War. He wakes up one morning feeling his life isn't worth much as it was. Though he is a successful business man, a father of two, his wife has divorced him. He figures his problem comes from not having been raised by his parents, but his grandmother. As with so many things we decide to do, he finds himself with more than he expected. One of the things he learns is that no matter what you do; you're apt to touch the lives of others.So if you're up to a story full of adventure, action, mystery, suspense and a few tears: Start turning the pages for a story you will find hard to believe.
