The protest was a result of American airplanes bombing neighboring Cambodia. It was soon after the deadly shootings at Kent State University where four students were gunned down. Many students gathered at Coffman Memorial Union watching television monitors broadcasting that day's protest-turned-riot.It was announced that the Minnesota National Guard had been called in. Oh-oh, here we go again. Were they going to open fire on us too? I was a senior at the university and had been accepted at the University of San Diego Law School. That day's events changed my life. No way was I going to be a part of a money-crazed system as a lawyer, so I began my journey as an artist/sculptor.Five years later, I found myself living in a tent in the woods near Ely. After two years of tent life, I moved to an old hunting shack filled with spiders, mice, and snakes on the property I bought. It was a roof over my head. After seven laborious years of remodeling with popular logs that I fitted into a log hut around the shack, the structure burnt to the ground during the blue moon on New Year's Eve 1990. It was minus 40 degrees. I sat in the firetruck with then chief Klun after racing to my nearest neighbor's house, logger Buster Nicholson, where I burst through his door yelling, "My house is on fire!""Use the phone," he hollered, and I did. The Ely Fire Department met me at the beginning of Mud Creek Road, and I escorted them six miles down the road and into my remote haven in the woods. It was too late. Fire was consuming everything. Glass and ammunition were exploding, and the hoses on the truck were frozen. A night to remember for sure, but if anything is going to get the motivational juices flowing, it was that. I created a monumental sculpture 31 years later of this resolute and powerful Viking, which is now the second-tallest cement statue in the state. It was a year-long project that stands nine feet tall and weighs about 3,500 pounds. Located in Tower behind the football field, he stands with his sword rammed into the ground looking skyward for a sign from the heavens, just like I did in 1973 and on New Year's Eve during the blue moon.

Although it concerns several dynamic personalities, it revolves mainly around Emmitt Braedeikk, an egotistical bank manager and bachelor who is persuaded to run for mayor.Comparatively speaking, the idea of Emmitt being a banker is of trivial importance. Both bizarre and sometimes humorous personal problems often linger in the background and the story attempts to deal with issues that many times seem to be at the heart of some of America's most eroding trials. Crime, dishonest politicians, and penal overcrowding are but just a few. When uncanny terrorism enters the scene, the stage becomes set for complete chaos. Add a certain amount of sibling rivalry and science fiction to the mix and nothing short of divine intervention appears helpful.Through all of this, Emmitt does, however, develop a love life. Unfortunately, his mistress is a minister's daughter, one-third his own age and is involved heavily in prostitution. The author works to combine all of this into a happy, although realistic, ending and trust that the reader finds the story fun to embrace.

Therefore, we were limited on where we could go, however we did manage to go behind the Iron Curtain at one point and view the former Communist World.It explores the trials and tribulations of college students going way out of their normal surroundings, not only just to continue their college educations, but also to learn a "metric butt-load" about the world and themselves most importantly. If you want to do something amazing, see something amazing, or even achieve your wildest dreams, you're going to have to go beyond the horizon and venture into the unknown. While the pomp in that sounds glorious, fluffy, and boisterous, the reality is that it's true. You'll never see the world by staying in "Mayberry".

Aboard the bus, he agonizes over leaving Deanie. Alone and afraid, he slumps back in the seat. Then, he remembers what his coach said about playing hurt, and he realizes that he must go on, even if it does hurt.

This play offers an explanation, albeit fantastical, for President Trump's inaction and near silence for 187 minutes during the Capitol siege on January 6th, 2021. The play begins with his speech at the Washington, D.C., rally on that fateful day. After he finishes the oration, as opposed to his instruction that he be driven to the Capitol, the Secret Service ferries him to the White House. Once there, President Trump holes up in the private dining room off the Oval Office, which serves as the setting for the remainder of the play. In the dining room, he sits rapt before a gigantic television screen, viewing his followers' descent upon the Capitol. Suddenly, the Grim Reaper materializes in the dining room, and announces that the time has arrived for him to take President Trump away. In the hope of dissuading the Grim Reaper from completing his mission, President Trump calls upon the assistance of Satan, whom the president hopes will listen to his appeal for clemency. As did the Grim Reaper, Satan materializes in a burst of explosions, smoke, etc. President Trump attempts to convince Satan to overrule the Grim Reaper by presenting a video playlist titled Trump's Big Six, containing six of what he considers to be his political career's highlights.One of the play's conceits is that only President Trump, and not his visitors, of which there were a few-for example, Ivanka Trump, Mark Meadows, and Pat Cipollone-can see the Grim Reaper and Satan: "Only he whom we come for can see us."
