This book describes Rose's gradual descent into alcoholism over a 45-year period. Starting out as a moderate drinker for many years, her descent into the depths of depression and despair of alcoholism was exacerbated by the death of a spouse of 20 years. Retired and alone she started abusing alcohol. This led to suicidal ideation and eventually to Out Patient treatment. However, it was only in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous that she finally found the solution she needed. This book describes her first nine months in AA, what she experienced, thought, and felt. It takes the reader deeply into the spiritual transformation that this 12 Step program offers. This book is helpful to those who struggle with their drinking and want to quit. Those in recovery can relate to the chapters and it may be used as a book study in groups.

Duplicity abounds; the ordained turning against the church, the heirs of the vast amounts of assets through the generations who lust after even more plot among themselves and the bureaucrats find threats against their rule everywhere. As a tool of the Watchers against those forces, Leonard is simply advised to go misbelieve.

The book begins with Larry the romantic and then follows with the challenges of doing and living and questioning what we do to keep on trucking. Then it goes to quieter times when even nothing of consequence can gain your attention and appreciation for being alive. Still reality has its cold cut into our existence which is displayed in a battle poem and a walk on Tianamen Square. From there beliefs are what carry us on through our lives. The last chapter includes Haiku poems that compress so much about the serenity of nature in just three lines. Read aloud they are very much like enjoying a fine wine.

The story begins in Ireland. There was a mighty, evil king named Giardino, who ruled everyone by cracking a whip. He lived in a castle surrounded by a moat. A fire breathing dragon operated the long drawbridge. The king's pride and joy were his garden, which was visited by people from all over the country. One day another king came to visit and to admire the beautiful flowers. He told King Giardino that he did not have the most beautiful flowers. There was a lady who grew an enchanting flower in her garden which she called "The Love Flower". King Giardino sent his knights to find this "Love Flower." They brought it back and the king had it planted in his garden. He was so impressed with the flower's amazing colors. However, the next morning, when he went to admire his "Love Flower", he found all of its petals on the ground. The king viewed this as a curse and immediately went with his knights to find the lady who was growing these "Love Flowers". They couldn't even find her house, let alone the lady. When they returned to the castle, he found his dragon so sick he could not even breathe fire. He was so upset, he retired to his chamber. Later that night, an angel appeared to him and said, "Look at all your evil ways and realize all the suffering you have caused." That visit from the angel changed King Giardino forever...

That is why all the events were written with a critical eye toward whether they were realistically achievable within man's limited capabilities. Eric Dent, the oil consortium, Sheik Omani and Sylvan had similar, albeit not identical, goals, and all were willing to sacrifice humanity to achieve those goals within those constraints. When the Antichrist comes, he will have at minimum paranormal and possibly supernatural capabilities. The restrictions that were placed on the characters in this novel will not be placed on him. Prophecy is clear that he will be able to rally the world, en masse, around his person and his initiatives. It is your choice whether you are prepared.
