Step into the captivating life of Saartjie Baartman, an ordinary and curious 18-year-old whose dreams led her from the familiar shores of Cape Town to the distant lands of England and Paris. Little did she know that her voyage would take a tragic turn, transforming her life into a harrowing tale of exploitation and dehumanization. In this powerful biography, Saartjie's true story is finally given a voice, allowing her to recount her experiences firsthand. From the initial promise of work as a nursery maid to the shocking reality of being displayed as an object of desire in London and Paris, her journey is one of heartbreak, resilience, and survival. As you delve into Saartjie's own words, you will bear witness to the fear and anguish of a displaced soul in foreign lands. Her poignant narrative sheds light on the struggles faced by countless individuals torn from their homelands, forced to navigate the trials of being foreign nationals in strange and unwelcoming territories. Supported by meticulous research and accurate references, this book also draws a striking parallel to the present day, where the erosion of human rights continues to fuel the alarming rise of human trafficking and bonded labor. Saartjie's story serves as a timeless reminder of the enduring fight for justice and equality, resonating even more powerfully in a world that grapples with these same issues two centuries later. Hottentot Venus is a tribute to a remarkable woman who suffered the indignities of exploitation, but whose legacy fuels the ongoing struggle for dignity and human rights. Her voice, once silenced, now echoes through these pages, urging us to confront our past, understand our present, and forge a more compassionate future.

This book contains Bible verses expressed in inspirational prayers. The prayers are written in rhyming poems. Each page has its own story to tell. I wrote these poetic prayers every day, once a night. It was my way to worship God and ask him to come to save me and guide me in hardship times. He didn't disappoint. I was a little teenager from a broken country in the war. I left my family when I was 17 years old and tried to follow my biggest dream which was coming to the United States and living free for ones. Jesus took care of me. But after I got what I wanted, I broke up with him and followed my selfish desires. I then got lost and fell. I gave up on Jesus, but he never gave up on me. After all the bad things I had done to myself and others I was at my lowest moment, hopeless and alone. I wrote these rhyming words to call him. Jesus again didn't turn his face away from me. He came and rescued me again and again. I pray to God that this book helps you too and shows you a light in the darkest moments. God bless you.

"I want to present Cleopatra to the World," Lady Stanhope sighed and reached for her purse. Two very young and inexperienced detectives, Flinders Petrie and Thomas Pettigrew, were unexpectedly presented with the case of a lifetime. Flinders and Pettigrew, recent graduates of Oxford and rivals of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, suddenly find themselves confronted with the task of finding Cleopatra's tomb. The tomb's location, as they quickly discovered, was protected by the adherents of an ancient cult. Their quest leads them to Cairo and Alexandria. They meet a mysterious woman, who is possibly the descendant of Cleopatra. Their story weaves between the 'City of the Dead' in Cairo and the 'Mound of Shards' in Alexandria. They discover that becoming a detective is more difficult than they imagined as students. Set against the background of the River War in the Sudan and written by an expert in archeology and Middle East history, readers will find this story a worthy successor to the Conan Doyle legacy. "Find me Cleopatra, and I will pay for all this...."

In an era fraught with uncertainty and mounting global challenges, The Plato Prophecy unveils a chilling portrait of a world teetering on the precipice. As China's meteoric rise ushers in a wave of unabashed nationalism, bolstered by its burgeoning military might, and Russia, an audacious autocracy, brazenly invades Ukraine, trampling upon the sovereignty of this fledgling democracy, a haunting question looms: are we unwittingly sleepwalking into a catastrophic disaster? Amidst this perilous landscape, the deafening absence of resolute Western leadership, those strong voices commanding respect and purpose, becomes all too apparent. Democracy, burdened by dysfunction and poisoned by partisan toxicity, falters under its own weight, mirroring the twilight of an empire. The United States grapples with internal social malaise, an affliction that signals the decline of a once-great nation. Britain, embroiled in the quagmire of Brexit, contends with an energy crisis and rampant inflation, while Europe, shackled by Russia's stranglehold on its energy supply, races against time to recalibrate and salvage its economic stability. The unfiltered deluge of vitriol unleashed across unregulated platforms of social media breeds a perilous new cyber electorate, a breeding ground ripe for malign foreign actors to manipulate civil discourse. The insidious contagion of political correctness and 'wokeism' casts a suffocating shadow upon free thought, free speech, and the indomitable right of individuals to dare, to aspire, to hope, unhindered by those seeking to silence them. As the foundations of democracy crumble, opportunistic regimes like China and Russia eagerly seize the opportunity to fill the void, exerting their influence and shaping the world according to their own agendas. For those troubled by the alarming trajectory of these developments, The Plato Prophecy emerges as an urgent call to action, a searing exploration of the perils facing humanity's most cherished ideals.

This book studies strategic goals of advanced extra-terrestrial civilisations, and the implications they have for planet Earth. The theoretical framework is based on logical arguments and statistical considerations. The book explains various empirically and statistically confirmed phenomena for which science has currently no convincing explanation. These phenomena include the existence of religious beliefs, the existence of dreams, the existence of the mental disorder schizophrenia, the statistical evidence for some parapsychological phenomena, and the fact that the human brain capacity decreased since the human civilisation emerged from hunter-gatherers. The theory can be outlined as follows. A technologically highly advanced civilisation settled Earth millions of years ago and has installed its computational infrastructure under the surface of the Earth. The members of the civilisation have uploaded their minds to computers and live in a virtual reality. Their technological infrastructure includes facilities for detecting and manipulating electromagnetic signals at arbitrary position on Earth. They used intelligent programs for directing evolution on Earth, and are now in the process of developing methods for rewiring the human brain. This is done with the goal of controlling human thought processes and to prevent humans from becoming a threat for other civilisations. The first chapter proves the hypothesis with statistical and logical arguments. Putative implications for physics are derived, and creativity and mental illnesses are re-examined in the context of the developed theory. The book then provides a reinterpretation of human history. The last chapter illustrates the developed theory with some channelling reports.

I've always dreamed of a poetry scene in the UAE. Not a fleeting stage but an immortal book, to hold our painted words and bring them to the hands of those who would read them. I myself write but I didn't imagine this book with me alone. I wanted it to express a multitude of emotions, ideas and expressions. That's when I started looking for other poets to contribute to this book. It started with a small twitter group consisting of me, Zayed and A.Y.A. It slowly grew to seven poets. We compiled our poetry into the book you are holding right now, Compendium.
