Would you be totally thunderstruck, slap your forehead, shake your head and stare with eyes as big as frying pans if you found a chubby mouse with floppy ears and a drooping, rumbling tummy tucked under the blankets of your warm cozy bed? Would you scratch your head and mutter, "This just can't be possible! It must be a full moon... it simply must be! There's absolutely no other logical explanation!" if you found a furry, black cat dressed in overalls curled up atop your bed speaking with the mouse about the circumstances that landed them into the bedroom in the first place? If you think this could never happen, think again! This is exactly what happened to a 10-year-old boy named Joseph and his grandpa named Grandpa... and this is just the beginning of an absolutely madcap adventure filled with the wackiest, zaniest characters you'll ever meet. From a cozy bedroom, to a magical cave, to a buried treasure chest and down what seems to be a never-ending tunnel Joseph, Grandpa, Pip the Mouse, Diddles the cat together with a young girl named Emma who Joseph thinks is a pretty as a button, find themselves dangling perilously over a deep, rocky gorge. Countless characters offer to help the group out of the gorge, but the unthinkable happens. Will unshakeable friendship, infinite patience and unrelenting teamwork be enough to get the group back to Grandpa's Farm safe and sound? This story promises to knock your socks off! It Must Be a Full Moon is the last book in the trilogy.

This book will entertain, inform, and emotionally move its reader and provide healing. It certainly is not a lecture but a look at a survivor's struggle with certain areas in life that are not so easy for an abuse victim. It is a look at a person's career in a very competitive job and spiritual growth. This is a troubling subject treated with sensitivity along with down-to-earth humour along the way. It would clear some of our jails and make a safer world, for our children. We've recognised, more or less, the existence of institutional abuse of children, but have a long way to go on the subject of familial abuse. It is prevalent and it won't leave our lives unless light is shone on this subject, which nobody really wants to look at. We will, I'm sure.

The impending End of Daegs were upon the inhabitants of the planet. They had acknowledged long ago that they had no other option than to venture out into the distant stars and search for the new Eden which Gavril had apparently found on his reconnaissance, somewhere that they can call home once more. Gidhon stood on the deck observing the planet below. He could hear the constant ebb of the starship, and his thoughts turned to the heavily laden underbelly which sat beneath his feet, his cargo... their future, for without them they as a species will not survive. "Is all well, Gidhon?" a voice asked. He groaned inwardly, and it was then that he remembered he was not alone, never alone to his thoughts, he shook his head as he heard Athena's voice. Just why had they made this choice, he will never know, he thought.

In her heart, though, she knows that she longs to be free to see more of the world before settling down to what she feels would be a humdrum life of a domestic city in the early 1960s. Having been dissuaded from accepting a teaching job in the USA, she continues her quest for an overseas posting until one day, she finds exactly what she's been looking for. A boarding school in Lushoto, a township in the Usambara Mountains, Tanganyika (Tanzania) needs a teacher. Nothing could prepare Sylvia for the amazing life that she was to lead, with experiences, friendships, and challenges that she could never have imagined, and with memories that she would cherish and try to recapture on a return visit many years later.

An evocative memoir that paints a rich historical picture of life as a district nurse in a close-nit rural community setting in the mid-1970s and 80s. The author presents a fascinating set of memoirs that capture the essence of a district nurse at this time. Presenting the challenges of coping with a young family to live and work as an outsider within a community, winning trust, and respect, whilst adapting to the challenges of working in a rural community, before days of central heating, mobile or in some circumstances house phones. The memoirs present a series of heart-warming, encounters, portraying a picture of a committed nurse, becoming a community champion and visionary pioneer in the development of much needed community services. The stories of engagement with all-age community members present a strong historical context of the nursing role. In some ways very different to current nursing practice, reflecting the evolution of nursing and development of nursing, medical and technological knowledge to underpin the principles of knowledgeable, empowered, and informed practice.

This is the story of the stuff of dreams and how they can actually happen in the best way possible. A story of two people living three completely different lifestyles over a four-year Odyssey. After a fork in the road presented itself, John and Helen left Sydney Australia for a hemisphere change to live on the Greek Island of Samos. At the time of leaving, they were both at the top of their professions in the IT Industry. Life, love, and all manner of emotions came forth to capture the start of their destiny on Samos, where they lived for nine months. From this Greek Island they moved to London and John worked in the IT Industry with Helen working as a PA, a job for which she was overqualified. Great success in the UK then led to a second fork in the road and they decided to buy a large sailing yacht and leave England to sail and live in Europe, having the Mediterranean Sea in mind and to return to the Greek Island of Samos, which they considered their spiritual home in Europe. To do this they needed to complete a three-month course in sailing and navigation with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). After this they left England to sail and live in Europe and the last of the three lifestyles. It is a story of people, countries and their peoples, adventure, the romance of the sea and life and above all... emotions! To adopt these lifestyles, they needed an abundance of confidence, intelligence, and courage. These qualities they had. A similar tale to the TV Series "The Durrells" on a Greek Island. Then onto the TV Series "Emily in Paris" for their city success. The last of course being the return of Odysseus, the Greek hero, who sailed home and returned to the Greek Island of Ithaca after an absence of some years where similarly John and Helen returned, under sail, to the Greek Island of Samos.

This book is a panoramic view of the life of one individual growing up in the West of Ireland in the sixties and seventies. It chronicles the advances made by society, its laws and restrictions that were rooted in the past of this Catholic state. It moves from childhood to adolescence and onto adulthood, and describes the events which shaped her life as she grappled with the very many challenges that life throws at her. Neither defeatist nor morbid, this is, for the most part, a light-hearted description of her actions on occasions which are difficult. She takes life on its terms and becomes more confident with each passing incident.

In this gripping autobiography, I share my experience of holding on when everyone else let go. With every ounce of strength, I gripped tight, silently screaming on the inside, unable to surrender or relinquish my right to live my own life. Despite the choices of those around me, I had none of my own. My sanity teetered on the edge between a frenzied, rabid dog and an existence of task-oriented groundhog days. I didn't recognize myself, yet the merry-go-round kept turning, and I couldn't step off. I had already witnessed more than my eyes should have seen, but leaving wasn't an option. The reason why? She devoted her life to protecting me from bullies, silently absorbing their scorn. Now the tables have turned, and it's my turn to protect her. No matter the cost, I vowed to love her, keep her safe, and give her my undivided attention and lifelong support. We're in this together, no matter how long it takes.

Dancing between the cosmos and daily life, Phil's poetry weaves a magical path through the jungle of the modern world to a place of comfort and safety. His experiences have given him a unique perspective into pain, heartbreak, and loss so that he can best show the way out of these toxic environments. At the same time, he shows the beauty in simple things, pride in a good day's work and joy for the love that shines everywhere. Life is a challenge, and we must be willing to meet it head on and with this book and his healing words, the way becomes clearer. Many of his inspirations come from dreams, meditations or shamanic journeys and offer solutions generally considered esoteric. Each word is measured for its emotional impact and the stories are engaging because they have a ring of truth. The poet employs many styles within the pages of this book from traditional forms like rhymes and sonnets as well as new, experimental free-forms. Any lover of language will enjoy this read.
