This novel is the story of the early months of those cataclysmic events as seen through the eyes of some of the major contributors to the War, and also from a group of British athletes who just happened to find themselves thrust into the fighting and mayhem of those chaotic days of July, when the first stand against the Totalitarian Right Wing, under the guise of Fascism, was undertaken by the brave and gallant people of Spain. The War was to last from the summer of 1936 through to late spring of 1939 and over 500,000 people were to lose their lives in the fighting and repression that inevitably accompanies any Civil War, especially when a clash of ideological views are involved. The Spanish War was to be overshadowed almost as soon as it had finished, in April of 1939, by world events which happened later that year. It was though, a major conflict in its own right, which had a significant effect on later events. The blood, destruction and misery caused by the Civil War was to all intents and purposes..."THE PAIN OF SPAIN".

The first thing to know about this book is, it isn't about me. It's about the situations I lived through and what I had to do to adapt. And the thing with humans is, we do adapt. Just look at how the nation - the whole world - adapted to having to wash our hands, wear masks and get vaccinated during the global outbreak of Covid-19. If we want to achieve something as a human race, we will do it, and we will adapt. This book is a true story, involving my experience on a mission of goodwill in the tropics of the rainforest, a near death experience on a boat trip in Majorca, and returning to the slow pace of normal life back home.

El 1 de enero de 2013 entró en vigor en Nicaragua la Ley No. 822, Ley de Concertación Tributaria. Esta ley tiene como objetivo crear y modificar los tributos nacionales internos y regular su aplicación, con el fin de proveerle al Estado los recursos para financiar el gasto público. Es con esta ley que se introduce en Nicaragua la legislación aplicable a los Precios de Transferencia (en lo sucesivo también, PT), cuya entrada en vigor, de conformidad con el Artículo 303, sería el 1 de enero de 2016. No obstante, su implementación fue postergada para el 1 de enero de 2017. Mediante esta investigación queremos analizar la relación existente entre el Principio de Plena Competencia en Nicaragua y la legislación aplicable a los PT contenida en la Ley No. 822 de 1 de enero de 2013. Finalizamos presentando los aportes sobre PT y su primera adopción. Aunque la rama del Derecho Tributario en Nicaragua ha sido objeto de múltiples investigaciones, el tema de los PT, por su novedad, no ha despertado una atención especial. Con este trabajo hacemos una contribución para participar en el debate y motivar a otros investigadores para que se involucren en el desarrollo del país a través de la implementación de la legislación relacionada con los PT.

Once upon a time there was a puppy that lost her parents during a heavy rainstorm and a gusting wind. The puppy was washed away from her parents and ended up at a nearby farmhouse, wandering about with no shelter, or food to eat. There was a little girl called Araba, who lived in a little farmhouse with her parents Mr Ahobrase and Mrs Ahobrase, and a younger brother called Kofi. Araba always wanted a puppy but her parents always denied her to have one.

The author also writes about his continuing struggles against living with a progressive illness. His speciality is to occasionally include a twist in the tale to keep his audience on its toes. This story is about a journey in life, the life of a middle-class English woman called Josette Bennett, who is taken a long way out of her comfort zone. She has learned to work hard, and trusts nobody but herself ...until now. Although she runs her own business, a language school for foreign children with centres in different parts of the UK, she is not rich. She lives in her lovely house on her own, and has always had to fend for herself. She is totally focused on her business, working long hours. She has had men in her life, but nobody who every really set her on fire. Each year is spent in planning lessons, and travelling, mostly in France, from one company to another, to secure contracts from large companies. In January of each year, there were the seminars, moving from one part of the country to the other, holding meetings and answering questions. If truth be told, she was becoming to feel very jaded. She had been doing this now for 30 years, and although the youngsters were very enthusiastic in the earlier years, nowadays all they wanted to do was to come to England to fool around. They didn't want to learn English! All her visits to France were in the cold Winter months. In the story, it is January. On a whim, she decides to go to Paris on the train, as it was nearly her birthday, and she deserved a few days off. She knew the journey up to Paris would be long, but she would be able to watch the beautiful scenery and relax.She boards the train in Pau, and sometime later, the train crashes. The carriage is plunged into darkness, and partially topples over. Passengers from parts of the train behind her, fight to get into the carriage to rescue as many people as they can. In this dark awful place, as she is shuffling backwards on her knees, she looks over her shoulder, to be met by the most piercing blue eyes she has ever seen, and at that moment, she falls hopelessly, helplessly in love. From that day forward, her life becomes entwined with that of Maximillian, the Duc de Beauchamp, a billionaire who has his own pharmaceutical company based in Marseille, but who lives in Monaco. When they go their separate ways, they are unable to concentrate on their own work, as they are each obsessed with the other. In a very short space of time, she blindly goes to live with Max and eventually marries him. She is introduced to a life of luxury she could never have hoped for or imagined. Max has a beautiful home, a wonderful yacht, a plane, and helicopter. He also owns properties in Paris, Megeve, and other countries as investments. Although their life is fraught with accidents and attempts on their lives, bombs planted on their yacht and at the laboratory, they are protected by security officers, who are with them every inch of the way. Each of them is abducted by two of the shadowy people in the background of Max's life. However, they love one another deeply, and nothing can keep them apart. Mum has a nasty habit of blowing boogies and sneezing into her hands instead of using a tissue. This habit puts mum in trouble several times as her boogies always come through faster than she could catch them and the boogies end up going on people. As a result of mum's nasty behaviour, mum is kicked off the bus, gets arrested at the supermarket and gets stranded as no taxi would take mum and her children home. Her children Gidibas and Verosy have had enough of their mum's constant embarrassment. Mum has to think about her nasty behaviour and how it is impacting on her children. She tries to get help, but will it work?
