This book of poems comes from an honest attempt to put the spiritual highs and lows of one person into verse but it also tries to find clues to living the life of Faith by following our great heroes. The poems also tackle some of the crises we have faced recently as well as the pain we all encounter through life. Wild Beasts and Angels is a strange title, so I should explain. In the Gospel according to St Mark, the temptation of Jesus is described as an experience linking earth and heaven, "e;he was with the wild beasts, and the angels waited on him"e; (Mark 1:13). Perhaps St Mark is trying to say that our Lord Jesus holds within himself both the things of this world and the things of heaven. The Christian seasons of Lent and Easter teach us about how to deal with the things of "e;the world"e; as well as how to embrace, with joy, the glimpses of heaven. Many of the poems are rooted in these seasons. This process has been joyful and has drawn me forward and upward every step of the way. I hope that you will also find some food for your soul.

This book is about the lighter side of neurodiversity. I wrote it because not many books are written with neurodiverse children in mind, especially books which are from a light-hearted perspective. I wrote it with the intention of enabling parents and children to understand that it is o.k to be different and I hope that this book enables both parents and children to connect with the characters. Much good can come out of the diagnosis of ASD. Children with ASD excel in many areas; a diagnosis of ASD could be the making of your child. Great people in the media have revealed that they are on the ASD spectrum and have achieved amazing things.

During the 17th Century, slavery was at its peak, and 400 years later, in the 21st Century, in some places, it still exists, although the name has changed to make slavery appear more acceptable, but not as savage. Hence I am writing this novel, so we don't forget.

Poetry from a Blackman's prospective, is not seen as emotional, for emotions is feelings, where as it is the heart that controls the mind, for instance you could be sad and write about something that makes you feel glad or visa versa. When I write I try to balance stable with stability, nothing is seen as controversial. Although surprising, the reader will certainly agree with the concept. From the days of the Hieroglyphics in Egypt, Black people have got their point across with pronounce accuracy, so following in the footsteps of my Ancestors the path is made easier

The main theme of this book is an examination of part-time voluntary military service culture as it contrasts the counties of Cornwall and Devon with the rest of the UK from 1846 to 1916. There is an explanation of pre-war volunteers in the Militia and Yeomanry, the growth of civilian controlled 'Rifle' units plus reaction to the Boer War and the popularity of the then new Territorial Force. It finally enquires about any possible enthusiasm for full time service from 1914 up to the introduction of conscription in 1916.

Public libraries continue to be an important and much loved public service. There are almost 3,000 public libraries in England run by 150 different authorities and spending about GBP800 million of public money. Almost half the population hold a library card . Why then is so little attention paid to how and why a public library service should be modernised? The transformation of Brent libraries was a successful example of public service reform leading to improved outcomes despite a drop in budgets of almost 20%. As such it has been praised by staff in other authorities as well as in government literature . Yet it was extraordinarily controversial. It generated a judicial review fought all the way to the Court of Appeal, attracting condemnation from a number of celebrities and national headlines. James Powney was at the heart of this successful library reform to turn a mediocre public library service into one of the most successful services in the UK. This book is arranged in four sections. The first is a description of getting the process passed, and through the subsequent Court proceedings. The second tackles some of the themes that came up in that process, in particular the failure of the "e;Big Society"e; to take off. The third is about what modern libraries can do and why they are important, contrary to what some people in the government argue. Finally, there is a short list of the lessons. learnt.

This book is following the journey of the author through her life in the 20th Century in a changing world. It is written in a freestyle recording significant events that impacted the author's life. It gives family and personal history unique to the author with perceptions of life starting in Cape Town South Africa and travelling to the UK to train in a profession that influenced the author's life for many years, picking up experiences that made an impression on a young life influencing decisions as she experiences maturing in working and social environments. It is written in chronological order mostly but as memories become relevant to the narrative there is a jump in time. Some of the events are recalled in the past tense but there was an event that had to be recorded in the present tense because it gives the flavour of my parent and family scene which is very different from what would have been had the event been in the present day. It was that of my husband -to -be proposing marriage by letter and getting permission from my parents. Some would say those were Victorian values. I hope that what comes across in the book is someone who faced challenges and found ways to overcome them whilst maintaining a sense of humour and lightness that demonstrates a woman that is resilient and who lives by principles of trust, respect, dignity and recognition that people have their own history that shapes their personality and helps to cope with life.

This is something that I made up for my grandson Levi who was 3 years old at the time, now 8 years old. The Blanket however was a Blanket that belonged to Rupert another grandson of mine aged 6 now. It's about a blanket that I use to help Levi make things better when he would hurt himself, as at 3 years old he was quite clumsy, and still is, so this was a way to try and help him take his mind off whatever he hurt. Thanks to Levi my second eldest grandson.

About the bookChasing a Chinese Dragon is a crime story with a difference. The dragon in the title is a young Chinese woman who embarks on a killing spree across Southeast Asia. She is chased by Simon Grant, a MI6 agent, who tells the story. He shares with us something of the secret world of SIS and the role of the secret agent 'under the alien sky.' The first killing occurs in London; several more follow across Southeast Asia, culminating in an attempt on the life of the chief of the Malaysian Special Branch in London. The killer pursues her victims with the cunning of a dragon. However, she is not a real dragon. The dragon here is a Chinese metaphor for a person seeking justice, retribution and redress. She is not a serial killer. She is a very complex character, deeply disturbed by legacy issues that remain unresolved in post-colonial Southeast Asia. At several points in the narrative the narrator stops to explain the colonial history of Southeast Asia and the 'legacy issues' that still remain unresolved.

This new biography of Henry viii tells the tale of one of the most influential monarchs in the world's history. Detailing Henry's assent to the throne of Britain and detailing his momentous break from the Roman Catholic church as a result of internal disputes concerning his love life where he established the Anglican church, the text goes some way to advance new discoveries about Britain's break from Rome and the agent that caused the breakdown. Henry and his team of men also transformed the country by modernising many of its institutions and empowering them with authority and discretion. Henry is a tale of one king and how his country became mixed up and caught up in one man's personal issues, leading Britain to acquire new powers and influence in the world.

The book is real and doesn't try to hide itself. Casually waiting in the wings to pop up and and say 'here I am'. The front covering represents the water of life and the back represents the bread of life in motion. Both referring to Jesus and being the truth. Very personal.

The book is a guide for young women who do not work in finance and who will increasingly approach the world of investments in the future. The idea comes from the film released at the beginning of 2020 and based on the novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, a manifesto of women's emancipation. The title, not surprisingly, is Little women invest. The themes of financial education are intertwined with those of women's emancipation wisely described in the novel which, despite the years, remains highly topical. Inside, general notions to understand what and how you can invest your savings using simple language with a strong reference to one of the classics of literature. The book ends with the answers to some questions asked of well-known professionals in the sector, men and women, as evidence, on the one hand, of the possible differences in approach, on the other, as financial advice to four modern March sisters.

It is the year 1 Excelsis Deo, 1 E.D, as we begin to enter a new age during the post apocalyptic era of the Dome, whereupon we begin to see and to realise, how the remnants of recorded Data and Information, revealed through the W.o.r-Ships, suspended in space and flight, along with those colonies stationed upon the Moon, high above the earths' stratosphere, that would witness the fate of the end of the world. As it was throughout this mass Exodus and during this period of intervention, that the judgments of the Angels of the Empyreans would bring about the end of this world, but would also act to serve as a new beginning, in bringing about the transformation of a newly holistic and spiritually abundant world, about to be restored and readily prepared upon the eventual return of Humankind, the Angel Babies Excelsis Deo.

Joseph Conrad is one of the most intriguing and important modernist novelists and short story writers, whose writing continues to preoccupy readers. Conrad combined his unique personal background as a Polish emigre, his personal experiences and voyagings as a seaman and his literary readings with the tradition of his adopted country to produce literary works and fictions, which blended with his distinctive taste, gave the English novel a further originality and development. This study, which primarily concentrates on four of Conrad's major works - Heart of Darkness, Lord Jim, "e;The Secret Sharer,"e; and The Shadow Line shows that Conrad conceives voyaging as a symbolic means, an insight and vision into the human psyche. It becomes a journey into the inner-world of man's psychological diving into his inner world of the self in quest of truth, of self-identity, self-knowledge, and self-control.

Journey Through Baca is an anthology of poems that documents the life of a young man who bounced back from trauma and abuse, homelessness and a failing marriage to discover purpose and meaning in life. It follows his failures and successes in sharp imagery and rhythmic language which moves you to tears, laughter or ecstatic delight. The poem, Dear Mother, is pivotal in this collection. It pulls together pain and suffering into a beautiful love story in the form of a letter from a dying gay man to his abusive mother. The contrast of Reflection and Angry Reflection show how our emotions dictate the way we see the world. This anthology deals with emotional pains, detachment and neglect; offers hope and provides comic relief to the harsh realities of life. This book of poems will take you on a journey through your darkest moments and help you to dig deep and muscle up the resilience to push back and enjoy life to the full. It translates the words of Jesus, 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10) and tells the reader how to access this life.
