This book pretty much wrote itself. When the hearts started showing up, I began photographing them. I had no idea they would keep coming for several years. After photographing close to 150 hearts, I got the sense that perhaps I'm supposed to be sharing these messages with others. I decided to put them in a book, and at that point, the hearts stopped coming so regularly. The message I heard was, Yes! You finally heard! You've got everything you need. Now do it!

As an added bonus, personal stories from trauma survivors (like you) are included along with resources to seek further assistance, if needed. After he graduated he was set on writing two films based on experiences he's had in Boise, Idaho. He decided to travel to Tijuana, Mexico a year later to help build a home and care for abandoned families. Although he felt he made a major impact there was so much more for him to do. So he began to write poems to lay his burdens for the people all out. After he left he came back with a poem that would touch the people he cared for. The Lonely Sailor became a hit with everyone he shared it with, and consequently led to the book you are reading now.
