This book is a compilation of poetry and short stories written by the author, Christiana Guarino, while she was growing up and attending elementary and high schools. It also includes poetry written by the author's mother, Linda Mata.

Veteran homicide detective Blake Moyer comes out of retirement to join the police force in San Amaro, a small town on the Central California coast. On Moyer's first day on the job, George Garfield, owner of the Mollusks R Us oyster farm is murdered. A growing group of would-be environmentalists have been protesting against the oyster farm under the mistaken assumption that the activity was harmful to the ecology of the bay. The protest was begun by Sally Wicks a well-meaning, but ill-informed old time San Amaro resident. Demonstrations against the oyster farm heat up significantly when Jerry Lambert, Sally's ne'er do-well grandnephew arrives in town. Moyer aided by a young officer, Liam McNamara, assigned as his partner, sets out to discover who killed Garfield. As they get into their investigation of Garfield's murder, the detectives are faced with a series of related crimes including shoplifting, burglary, dope dealing, and political corruption before they finally learn who killed George Garfield.

This grant authorizes them to study the possibilities for a cure of cancer. The grant is very explicit in the type and scope of research they are allowed to conduct. Doctor Chadwick is also working a side job that he must hide from everyone, which is his 'human cell re-programming' research. This research project is beyond the scope of accepted scientific research. He and several colleagues in China and Taiwan have been working secretly on human cell reprogramming and re-engineering. They have made great progress in their research procedures using laboratory mice, chimpanzees, and orangutans. They have achieved success in embryonic fetal tissue transfer and growth. This research is forbidden in the U.S. and other parts of the world. It is feared this manipulative research will lead to 'genetic designing' of humans and other mammals. There is universal concern that the fine line between researching for the betterment of mankind and the ability to create genetic variations will result in an out of control biogenetic tragedy with mutations beyond man's control. The ethical and moral aspect of his forbidden research is a dilemma for mankind today and will likely remain such for decades.The work being accomplished has produced a human-like programmable robot called Chimanoid. It has been used around the world for various activities, mostly friendly.Quite by accident a new human species was created which is called Homin-Sars. This has proven to be quite problematic.It will cause chaos and mayhem for decades. These are exciting times to be alive. Surely the human Homo-sapiens will eventually survive or maybe not.

Startled by the shout, all the forest creatures disappeared back into the forest. Flurry and Fearless dropped to the ground. Flick Bick breathed fire into the forest, trying to scare the forest creatures. The fire couldn't reach them.
