I though how one day I would lose my dog Fred. To tell children, I wrote this book. I brought in his friends to show the love he had and has. I wanted to show where he would be and loved him eternally.

It's about me and my life. The good and bad times. The main characters is me and I do have my mom in the book, Jacqui Mckinnon. Me pushing through, breaking down anything that came in my way and for everyone else. I'm not different from you I just do things differently. And when you see a Disabled Woman or man don't treat us differently because we are all the same just like you. And that's why I write my book for people to understand us, disabled and people who are not disabled. World keep on turning, but we are all in this world together. And I hope and pray that one day everyone will understand that.

This book is about a long, sad, relentless journey to become a parent. The journey is not something I would wish for anyone; but, unfortunately, lots of people go through it. However, seeing the rainbow at the end of the journey is what I wish for everyone who longs to have children.

The surreal image on the book-cover is by Eli Huerta and depicts an impressionist perception of the Industrial Revolution. Avoiding the shaming taunts, Cassowary hides through the day, coming to the waterhole in the evening to bathe. One day, fleeing his tormentors, Cassowary runs into a large rock, part of which remains embedded in this head. When the kind Seahawk comes upon Cassowary he listens to the sad tale, encouraging the poor bird, and recognising his unique skills. Later when Seahawk asks for Cassowary's urgent help, he flies into action and saves the day.

The epic poem "Beowulf" has been explored by many scholars, but personal acquaintance revealed that some important aspects always seem to have been overlooked. That is the beauty of it if I dare to describe it a bit. So however it sounds like to you, maybe a place you could get lost or find what you are looking for, going there is totally up to you.
