"Dr Wize said, 'When I was a young man, a long time ago...' He laughed, trying to lighten the subject. 'I was given the best advice a man could receive, and I am going to pass it on to you.'" Arthur is a young man in West Heidelberg with a drive to get more out of life. He loves cars, motorbikes... and girls. But it isn't until he meets Doctor Wize that he truly understands the complicated rule to relationships. This book is a reflection on the highs and lows of life, tied together with a punchy, distinctive voice that will keep your eyes glued to the page as Arthur dissects his past. With a quintessential, home-grown feel of Australia in the 1960s, Two Heads in Two Decades follows Art's journey as he navigates family, friendships, love and sex. With the help of his brother, Al, and the advice of Doctor Wize, Arthur sets out to find the strength to overcome the challenges that life throws at him - and hopes that this book will help you do the same.

While we were preparing our book The Naming of Australia's Dragonflies, each of us consulted the etymologies given in A Checklist of North American Odonata: including English name, etymology, type locality, and distribution by Dennis R. Paulson & Sidney W. Dunkle (2012). When we met for the first time at the European Congress of Odonatology (2016) in Tyringe, Sweden, amongst our many conversations we agreed that we had found some entries which could warrant a review. Also recent work by Matti Hämäläinen had shed additional light on some people commemorated with an eponym. We contacted Dennis, the senior author of the checklist, and offered to provide amendments for some of the definitions, and he readily agreed. With this encouragement a number of amendments were suggested for inclusion in the next edition of the checklist. However, our research which included perusal of the original description for every taxon, revealed much information that could not be encapsulated in the phrase or sentence to match the checklist format. When assembled, it was fast approaching the size that warranted publication as a book. If a short biography of each author was included, a book it had to be. We have many people to thank for help in finding copies of the more obscure references. Once the etymologies were essentially complete, and we had started on the biographies, Dennis recruited Harold "Hal" White to help with sourcing photographs of American practitioners and to give a point of contact for those entomologists still, or recently, active in this field. Publication and Distribution presented another problem. This was not the sort of work that would be snapped up by a commercial publisher who would then market and distribute it worldwide, and it was not feasible to distribute from somewhere as remote from America as Australia (or Europe). Whilst many people now prefer publications as a pdf, neither of us would be happy if that were the only medium to be made available. Busybird Publishing, who prepared the volume on the Australian taxa, introduced us to the concept of Print On Demand, and that was the solution we had been seeking. In November 2018 a new edition of the Checklist was published which required us to include an extra four species and another author's biography. And here you have the result of that team's work over more than two years.

  • - The Book of Love, Loss, and Longing
    von James Walton
    22,00 €

While Walton does not readily forgive the world its many failings, this collection is replete with the poet's signature tenderness and lyricism, a bustling paean to Eros, Sophia and empatheia. This quality wedded to the poet's nimbleness of thought, and keen eye, are like a "falling butterfly tapestry" that keeps the reader spellbound, wondering where his poetic imagination will take us next.Justin Lowepoet, author of eleven collections, editor of Bluepepper.

  • - How to Supercharge Your Residential Property Capital Growth & Cash Flow
    von Andrew Crossley
    21,00 €

This book covers all things commercial: what to consider if buying a property to operate a business from, or buying a commercial property to lease out. It delves into development, subdivision, and how to improve a property. It may not just be residential property that you are interested in, so buying commercial property, what is involved, and relevant finance options are covered in great detail. While it is important to have a financially secure retirement, it is also about reaching a point in life, before retirement age, where you can have more choices to reduce your working hours, quit your job, or travel. It is about having hope, waking up every day, knowing you are doing everything you can to change your life for the better. Manufacturing cash flow and capital growth can potentially help you reach your goal quicker than sitting on a property for twenty years will.Whilst daily routine is good for most of us, it can be a comfort blanket we rely on. Having several routines other than just getting up, going to work, eating dinner, putting the kids to bed, and taking kids to their sports and activities is so important. It gives us hope that there is more out there that we may be able to accomplish.Within the commercial or industrial industries, very wealthy investors may own the premises where they run their business (often, wealthy people are self-employed). They may own some offices, or be involved in joint ventures with petrol stations, childcare centres, and aged care facilities or retirement villages.Commercial property is an important asset class within the asset sphere of property, so this book covers the many important considerations in relation to commercial property. these include, but are not limited to: capital growth, yield, necessary size of a deposit, what to consider when renting versus buying a premises for your business, different types of commercial property, and typical finance options.A successful investor's residential portfolio may typically contain their principal place of residence, a holiday house or short- term holiday let, and potentially a couple of well-positioned properties in the capital cities down the Eastern seaboard of Australia. Remember, these investors are not successful because they were born with more knowledge; it is because they have advisors and they have a plan. Many people have the dilemma of deciding whether to move to another property, or to undertake an extension on their current property. Development, subdivisions, renovating for profit, building two or more dwellings on a block, and all the positives and risks associated with these invaluable strategies are explored within this book.

  • - The Essential Guide on the 'How to' Earn $100,000+ a Year from Property
    von Andrew Crossley
    21,00 €

This book, as the title suggests, discusses how having a property plan can equip you with the tools and knowledge to help build a property portfolio that can provide 100K or more passive incomeper year, year after year (a passive income is an income that is earned without being actively involved). We all need money to live o in retirement. Roughly 80% or more of Australians are relegated to survive on the pension. I say 'relegated' because I believe life is to enjoy, experience, and travel. It is not, in my opinion, a mere existence spent counting pennies in retirement. Life is not about working from age eighteen to age seventy, only to then realise you miscalculated what you needed in retirement and misguidedly focused only on today and not tomorrow (metaphorically speaking). Many people in retirement lack the nancial capability to do more with their life than they currently are.Having a plan is better than haphazardly making our way through life. Taking the time to truly understand, or at least appreciate, our own situation and what our needs and wants may be now and in the future can enable you to enjoy a fuller life. Some people are arguably content going to the RSL every Friday night for a senior's meal and playing bingo every Wednesday. ese simple, weekly events are what some people look forward to, and that is fine, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to help your kids, grandkids, and worthy causes - not just with your time, but also with your money? While it is important to have a nancially secure retirement, it is also about reaching a point in life, before retirement age, where you can have more choices to reduce your working hours, quit your job, or travel. It is about having hope, waking up every day, knowing you are doing everything you can to change your life for the better. Whilst daily routine is good for most of us, it can be a comfort blanket we rely on. Having several routines other than just getting up, going to work, eating dinner, putting the kids to bed, and taking the kids to their sports and activities is so important. It gives us hope that there is more out there that we can accomplish. My goal in this book is to break down my twenty-two years of experience, qualifcations, knowledge, and awards into language you can understand and implement. I have a great system and blueprint to guide you through the necessary steps, and more importantly, I have made these very easy to understand.
