Born in 1914 just prior to WWI in a small town in Austria, a young Valerie is determined to escape the modest background of her family. Part One: Our StoryThis book is the story of the journey my siblings and I took to honor our parents. The Bible says we are "e;to honor our father and our mother,"e; and Our Story reflects what that journey looked like for us. Everyone's journey will be unique to them, and their circumstances may not look like ours at all, and that is okay; it shouldn't look like ours. We came together as a family and made the decision to care for them to the best of our ability to the end, and although the journey was long and we grew weary along the way, the Lord looked at our hearts and made up for everything we lacked. He was the strength that saw us through to the end, and for that, we are forever grateful.Part Two: His StoryFrom the time I began to pen this story, the world already lacked honor and respect for so many things on so many levels, but by the time I finished the book, the world had gone into a downward spiral of complete chaos and utter disregard for people and things I never imagined seeing in my lifetime. Lack of honor and respect for just about everything has begun to take over society. Who would have believed America could be so shaken and turned upside down with turmoil of this magnitude in such a short period of time?I believe entire generations have no idea what "e;to honor or respect"e; even looks like, hence adding to the chaos and mayhem we are seeing today in our cities and on our streets. All the more reason, we need to come together and fight this atrocity gripping our nation. I believe we, as individuals and corporately as a nation, are being called to honor in this hour.

I wrote this book because I love God. Even when I did not know God, I knew I was being watched over. I had a hard upbringing, yet a loving mother, loving sister, and brother, twelve in all. One day, this pastor showed up with a limousine, and he and his wife had church on the Sabbath day, Saturday really. He asked my mother if we could attend. She agreed, and that was where I really realized that there is a God. We had gone to one church prior, but my mother said that we were too young then to realize it there. That was at Pastor Haynes's. My book says that you go through a lot of everything, but God is always there. I found my life with ups and downs all the way, but it was rewarding. That is because God is real, and He had to stabilize life for me-ups, downs, twisted, good, straight, upset, whatever. He made it work. So my reason is to believe in the only one real God when all else fails. Then God will reassure you He is God. He is real. Things in life happen, but He is the only one with the solution to every problem. Life is real. Life is not a quick fix, and life is God-given. So I trust God to fix everything in life.

There are many things in life that can make you feel that you belong somewhere else.Whereas others have to go out and find a place where they have a feeling that they belong! It is a matter of just visiting that place and deciding if that place works out for you, as you can feel that you are tied down without actually being tied when you are in the wrong place. "e;'Come into my parlor,' said the spider to the fly"e; (Mary Howitt, "e;The Spide and the Fly"e;).The chance of finding the place where you belong is not always easy! I have written on the things that God enlightened me through our spiritual father's teaching and to share with others on altars also and on its strength.God opened my eyes during the lockdown and miracle after miracle that God has done for me and family that needed to be shared with others. Every seed that I have sown that died came to life again and birthed new faith. "e;Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap"e; (Galatians 6:7). My book speaks on a lot of revelation on how God manifested things into fruition in my life!

Something we never imagined. We did not see it coming, and we wrestle daily to erase the stain of tragedy from our minds, to heal and hold on to to our mental health and sense of sanity. Losing a loved one is oftentimes painful enough even when expected or accepted under normal circumstances. Perversion of Love aims to explore the reasons why we as Christians may struggle to love ourselves and others through the lens of what Dr. Gary Chapman defined, and what has been accepted by popular culture, as the five love languages. Christians have been given a Great Commission which is to spread the Gospel and make disciples. The method by which we fulfill this commission is the greatest commandments-to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. God created us to love, but we have an enemy whose goal is to destroy everything that God created, and his favorite method of destruction is perversion-the distortion, corruption, or alteration of a thing from its original course or design. So it makes sense that our enemy would seek to pervert the way we love ourselves and others in his attempt to stop the spread of the Gospel. So how does this perversion take place? I believe the enemy attacks us through our primary love language(s) and uses our very own parents as unwitting (and sometimes witting) participants to carry out his plan. Since we all receive love differently, the enemy will attack us in different ways, but there are some common tactics he uses depending on our love language. If we can learn to recognize the enemy's tactics for what they were/are, we can start the process of breaking the cycle of perversion in our lives and the generations to come. In doing so, we can learn to fully love God, ourselves, and others, and we will fulfill the purpose for which we were designed.
