  • von Sandee Guglielmo

The Journey of Redeeming Love has been sitting for a long time. God spoke to Sandee in 2015 when she retired about writing this devotional. She had been through many adventures with the Lord and was looking forward to sharing his thoughts and love. Her husband passed in 2015 and she lost her vision. She had now entered the survival mode the next five years. During these five years she learned to depend on God in a way she never had before. If she went through the fire she never got burnt or as the flood waters tried to consume her, she never drowned. She was on a new journey she had never been on before. For forty-eight years her husband cared for her, now it was the Lord, one hundred percent. God told her it was time to write this devotional and to meet with Him, and He would write it for her. It was amazing to sit with God and watch this devotional come to completion. It's for forty days because "40" means completion and a new season.

This book is intended for Christian men who want to grow in their faith by understanding, knowing, and applying God's Word to their daily lives. It is a fast-paced but solid exposition of the Gospel of Mark.. Mark writes in a no-frills, "just the facts" manner. He records eighteen miracles that Jesus performed--casting out evil spirits, healings, raising the dead, walking on water, feeding the five thousand and the four thousand, calming the storm, and of course, the final and most significant miracle is his resurrection. These all showed that Jesus was indeed the Messiah, the Son of God. And that's good news because if he is truly the Messiah and the Son of God, his death and resurrection were effective to provide forgiveness and eternal salvation to those who believe in him. This book is not written by a seminary professor, pastor, or full-time Christian worker. It is written by a businessman to businessmen as a fellow traveler, who has spent a lifetime immersed in the hurly-burly of the business world. Each chapter can be read in about ten minutes. Ideal for busy men. Recommend reading one a day for twenty-five days or as part of a men's Bible study group--a chapter or two a week.G. Brian Christie (ThM, Dallas Theological Seminary; JD, University of Texas), a transactional ("deal") lawyer, business executive, and company director, has taught men's Bible studies in churches in Texas, California, and Virginia over the past forty-five years. He has authored 12 Marks of a Man of God.

This book is written from the author's heart. In the beginning, she didn't understand who Jesus or the Father was. Through struggles and fears, her journey began. Making the wrong choices led her to more difficulties in knowing which direction she should go. One day, a little bundle came into her life and brought joy and love. Now she had more choices to make because she wasn't alone. The day finally arrived when the author learned of unconditional love and salvation. She was now finding her way to the right path. Soon to follow, heartache and sorrow entered her life. A trial crept in and challenged her to the heart. The author has written this book with honesty and truthfulness. There were times when she had to ask Father if he was sure he wanted her to write down certain events. Of course, he always said yes.2

Sonnia was left with deep emotional scars after her first serious relationship ended in heartbreak. Seeking comfort and guidance, she turned to the Christian faith and became a devoted follower of God.After a few years, Sonnia meets someone new and falls deeply in love. However, she resorts to lying to enhance her status in the church, which violates the ninth commandment. Despite feeling uneasy about her actions, she persists on this path, convinced that her new love and social standing are worth the consequences. Yet her actions do not go unnoticed. Yessica, her new husband's daughter, becomes suspicious and decides to investigate Sonnia's behavior. When she uncovers the truth, Sonnia must face the consequences. Rather than admitting her wrongdoing, she stands by her lies and sets out to drive Yessica out of her life.Through Sonnia's story, we can see how the violation of even one of the Ten Commandments can have far-reaching consequences, both in our personal lives and in society at large. Sonnia's actions of playing the Christian card for her own convenience may not have landed her in a physical jail cell, but they imprisoned her nonetheless. Conveniently Christian is a stark reminder of the power and importance of moral principles in our lives.

  • - The Rick Salewske Story
    von Cindy Woods
    50,00 €

At 538 pounds, Rick Salewske lived a small life that consisted of his job, his house, and his car--and he was very close to no longer fitting into his car. His stomach rubbing on the steering wheel had already worn a threadbare line across his pants. Often ridiculed by total strangers, he felt humiliated and very much alone. Rick had been raised in a traditional Catholic family, but his relationship with God was more of a distant, respectful belief than an up-close and personal experience. He couldn't fit into a church pew and most definitely not into a confessional booth. What Rick didn't know was that even then, God was actively pursuing him, even when Rick was not pursuing God at all. When Rick's weight cost him a chance at his dream job, God would lead him on a journey that would reach the mountaintops of national television appearances and even the New York Marathon, but his own poor choices would plunge him back down to a valley leading nowhere. It was in that valley that Rick eventually looked up and recognized God's hand in his life. When he learned to keep his eyes on God, the life God intended him to lead finally came into focus. His path was not always smooth or straight. But learning to put his full trust in the Lord led Rick to be less than half and more than twice the man he used to be.

The Poems of Faith was written to give hope to people suffering with any type of health ailment and to encourage an inspire them to trust in God and believe in the power of healing. The faith that James had was strong enough to get him through the many obstacles in his path in which he triumphed over. People suffer from all types of health conditions today and need some type of tool to continue to inspire them to press on and that there is going to be a brighter tomorrow. The Poems of Faith was written for that purpose. The book includes the poem entitled "The News," which was the author's first poem of faith. "The News" was written while the author was waiting for his lifesaving organ transplants. This poem has area recognition because it has been recited by the author at various functions. The poem was hung on the transplant ward at the hospital that performed his organ transplant surgeries. Each poem was written with a different aspect of life in mind for people that are suffering and or recovering from health ailments as well as having faith and believing in the power of God. The Poems of Faith chronicle the first five years of James's life after he received his lifesaving organ transplants.

The Greek term that Matthew uses to quote Jesus's call for us to be perfect is the same word used by St. Paul and St. Peter in their letters which we translate as mature. St. Paul tells us we are called to the "complete measure of the stature" that belongs to Christ: spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual maturity. How do we get there? Our Lord also teaches we are to be forgiving "seventy times seven times." Does anyone find that easy? We are also called to examine our own consciences to discover if we need to "leave our gifts at the altar" and go and make amends. Now there is a challenge. In this book, Fr. Tuohey uses Scripture, the writing of the early church fathers, his professional experience, the Twelve Steps of AA, and his personal struggles with Jesus's call to perfection to share the insights he has gained. They are shared here in the hopes it might be helpful to others as well.

As I locked my office door after a long day of counseling, out of the corner of my eye, I saw his car speeding down the road turning into the church parking lot. He slammed on his brakes and threw open the car door. He came running toward me; his eyes were bulging with anger and his face was beet red. The look on his face, I will never forget. He was going to kill me. He told me in the very beginning when I met with him and his wife; his first words out of his mouth were, "I will kill anybody who tries to take my wife away from me." Today was the day I finally got her away from him, and he was on a rampage to kill me. As he came running to me, I was petrified. I knew he would kill me. The Lord immediately told me, "Don't run. Run to him!" As I ran to him, I opened my arms to hug him. He stopped and hugged me, melting in my arms in return; he began to weep. "She's gone, she's gone," he cried. I began to tell him that everything would be okay. She needed a break, and she would be back. I took him to the office and prayed with him until he felt better.Peggy's and Gene's life has been spent through years of taking in women and girls needing homes, counseling, and protecting them from harm. Their experiences of helping hundreds of women and girls led Peggy to enter the world of prison ministry. Her experiences visiting and counseling women in incarceration have been her life's calling. And those stories have yet to be told.
