B-17 Down is the true story of (my dad) Captain Charles R. Phillips's incredible jump through his B-17 bomb bay doors from two hundred feet (indicated) onto a Berlin field. As pilot, he was the last to jump, but he and his entire crew survived their bailout and thirteen months as German POWs. Ahead of the Russian advance, the prisoners were forced to march for six days in bitter cold then spent two days on unheated cattle cars traveling from Poland into Germany. Patton's army arrived just in time to free the starving men. At five feet eleven, Charles weighed less than ninety pounds. Portrayed as historical fiction, much of the account is taken from a diary he wrote on the back of cigarette wrappers, flight log, letters, and from the memoirs of one of his crew. Charles's and his wife's war stories, historical research, and the author's imagination fill the gaps. B-17 Down begins when Charles met his wife, Doris, at his father's stock brokerage office. Their unconventional courtship led to an unconventional wedding in November 1942. Before his deployment to Bassingbourn, England, in September 1943, Doris followed him from air base to air base while he trained. In April 1944, just two months after the birth of their daughter (me), Doris received the fateful "missing in action" telegram. For six weeks, she had no idea whether Charles lived or died, but she didn't sit at home. Instead, she aided the war effort as POW chairwoman for Waterbury, Connecticut. When his B-17 went into a deadly spin, Charles said his life flashed before his eyes. The heavy bomber miraculously straightened after he prayed. He traced his salvation and strong faith in Jesus back to that moment, but his deprivations took a severe toll on his body. Rheumatoid arthritis froze his joints and shrank him to under five feet tall. All four of his children came to know the Lord in large measure because of his consistent walk with the Lord (three were born after he came home). He retired from the Air Force Reserve as lieutenant colonel and remained close friends with several of his crew throughout his life.

My book features a short collection of inspirational and positive writings about faith, family, and life. The collection begins with a reminder that little acts of kindness matter.It also encourages you not to "let your trials and life's challenges get the best of you." Throughout the collection emphasizes the power of embracing God's love. This book is uplifting and helps us become more Christlike.Along our journey, together, we can help each other become better. I love writing what's in my heart to encourage people. I want to be a positive influence to uplift those who need a helping hand. I hope reading this book leaves a smile in your heart.

How do you define the words journey and miracle? What do you base your definition on? Many times, these are defined by what's happening in an individual's life or simply by an emotional response to a particular situation. Sometimes, these words are used so often that their meaning and their impact on our lives are actually diminished and can even become inaccurate.These wide varieties of definitions can make for great discussions and good learning experiences when conducted respectfully and with open minds. In A Journey of Miracles, I share my thoughts on what these two words mean to me. It is written to honor what God has done, and continues to do, in my life. I am not a professional writer, so I know through the whole writing process, I was helped and inspired by the Holy Spirit. I pray they encourage, remind, renew, and engage each of you.God created you. God knows each of you. God loves you. You are significant to him. You are his miracle. He longs for you to join him on the journey he has for you. Trust God. You are never alone. God has never made a mistake with a life. You have a purpose in his world.

One man, not sure where his next job would come from, is employed by God where he will compassionately care for society's least fortunate--the mentally or emotionally ill, when they transition into the psychiatric hospital system. I am that man. This is my story of working in the psychiatric system, usually in a hospital setting.This volume is a telling of twenty-nine years of caring for and about people who, but for the grace of God, could be me or my family. It is a telling of surviving and thriving in often difficult circumstances. Starting as a mental health worker in 1988, I received my registered nurse license in 1993 and continued as a psychiatric nurse until I ended compensated employment in 2017.This is a telling of covering the naked and treating the self-inflicted wounds of the bloody. The whys and logics of many of the disorders encountered are addressed in caring and often wry commentary. The actual workings of the psychiatric hospital, and my observations of that environment are presented.Life as it is actually lived, often at its most visceral level, is on display here. I frequently make reference to a person's WIIFM (what's in it for me) as a dominant factor motivating the behavior of people, both the patients and the hospital staff. I do not spare myself when addressing WIIFM as a behavior motivator. There is caring for wounded hearts and how to manage those whose hearts are beyond either wounding or caring.The legalities, as well as the realities, of how the mental health system works and the protections for those who are a danger to themselves or others or unable to care for themselves are presented here, and I deal with the realities of psychiatric hospitalization and dispel the nonsense of a seventy-two-hour psychiatric hold.There is triumph and tragedy presented here in a uniquely engaging style by a true storyteller.

It was a real experience as from city life to country farm was the very best and I was very glad I had got the experience! I am old now, but farm living made me healthier and stronger. It was an experience you never forget, and I am thankful I got the farm life. Every child should get to spend some time on a farm, hunting, fishing, etc. never need a vacation. It's always there one way or another. Make a living and have vacation time to state fairs.

Caught in the middle of family greed and his own faith, a priest desires nothing more than to spread the Word of God and save all of God's children, whether it be his own family or the natives of the new world, from slaughter. In a tragic event and race for time to save a life, an old Bible makes its way to a native tribe that intertwines ancient esoteric wisdom with the New Testament and its miraculous conclusion.

I was born to two wonderful Irish parents on a cold winter morning in a small town. They raised me with good moral values. While in high school, I began to write poetry and made cards for the love of my life. His name was John McQuiston. We were wed two years after we graduated. Our love was truly a match made in heaven. Little did I know I would become a widow at age twenty-three. Tragically, he was the victim of a senseless crime. I gave birth to another baby boy shortly after my husband died, so I had two boys to raise. My family was very loving and supportive. I never remarried. My love for John was so strong, and my love for Jesus has carried me through all my years. Recently, I've been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write Christian poetry. I hope you like the poems I have written, and I pray that Jesus will speak to your heart.

Perhaps the most frequently asked question since time began is "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Or "How can a loving and merciful God allow such atrocities to happen to faithful God-fearing people?" These are the questions I have been asking for as far back as I can remember. Therefore, I've written this short book. I've tried to address these questions and seek some answers from the point of view of the one you can never go wrong with the most high while still trying to make it entertaining and enjoyable. While I hope the book has what most people enjoy when they read a book or go to a movie--action, suspense, and entertainment--I've included a lot of dialogue Job shared between him and his friends and especially between him and God because this is what's at the heart of the story.In fact, many Bible scholars, as well as priests and ministers I've talked with and listened to believe the story of Job never actually happened but was written only to get the point across that bad things, indeed, happen to good people (read what Jesus says in Luke 13:4-5 about the collapse of the tower of Siloam). But if we persevere and put everything in God's hands, we'll truly have reason to rejoice (read Matthew's Sermon on the Mount). This is what I am trying to tell the reader here. None of us truly knows the answers to these questions. Only God does.So, to all who read this book, I hope you'll enjoy it, and whatever problems you are coping with--perhaps a crisis of faith or what have you--just remember with God, all things are possible. May his will be done.

In the last days, God has created four warrior angels to fight the demons and destroy the schemes of Satan. They are trained by the elite angels from heaven's battalion in a city called Alvinor, in the second heavens, a realm between heaven and earth where demons also reign.The angels learn combat, angelic weaponry, and are sent on missions to earth and also Reynak, the home of the demon commanders.Arden, God's last warrior angel, must resist every wicked plan and temptation of Satan and pass her test so she can become an elite warrior and ascend to heaven. Follow her adventures to earth where she learns about humanity and why humanity is important to God. Encounter God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through Arden's experiences as she takes you on a journey of faith, good and evil, and light and darkness. The battle is fierce in these end-times, and God has created them for a special purpose only which they can fulfill. Will Arden stay loyal to heaven, or will she succumb to Satan's temptations?

Rev 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death."False teachings about this verse led to the writing of a deep study about the subject. You can read these false teachings in the book. After finishing the study and in view of the current political climate, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me to do 2 Chronicles 7:14 and then a series of deeper studies ensued. Under the guidance and unction, these studies led to a common theme, thus the title synagogues of Satan. I had no inclination in my heart to write a book, but following the lead of the Holy Spirit, I did exactly that. I hope this small book will enlighten your understanding and increase the Lord's power in and through you. I also hope this book will also serve as a template as an effective way to study the word. This story is a short story and also a true story. It's about Mother Nature and how we have to survive in her world. Sometimes we all get sick, and it may or may not be our fault. But in this story, God was truly on my side then and, of course, now. I hope you read my story and relate to it. Some of this story is a little gloomy and sad, but the sun does eventually shine. It does get better. We all can get ill at any time. We know this. And God will either heal us or bring us home to where the streets are made of gold. Please read this story. You may learn something. We are all learning every day. As you know, we all grow from the learning process.

Ever wondered where your identity comes from? It comes from our Father, God Almighty. He created you uniquely. He gave you a personality, likes, dislikes, talents, and gifts. The Lists provides scriptures that depict who you are in Christ Jesus and all you've been given by Him. Other lists provided are commandments for believers and a daily confession of your identity. You don't know me from Adam or Eve, but you will after you read this book. God has been after me since childhood. I have felt His presence very heavily during much of my life, and there hasn't really been anyone else worth talking to about it--no one around who could relate as I could. Or no one who would let go of their inhibitions and talk openly about God in their lives to the point I'd know they were real in the Lord. These pages are me, real in the Lord--whether you believe them or not does not matter to me. What matters to me is that I write them as the Lord, and I lived them. At this point of beginning, I don't see myself writing of "God's happenings" as they occurred chronologically, but as the Spirit solicits me. And I have given Him my will to do so. This is not your ordinary Christian-girl story. I was told several years ago to write the book. It took me some years to be comfortable enough to write the words I did and many sleepless nights wondering, Was it too much?In reading this, my hope is that the pitfalls and messy lifestyle I once led won't be your story.
