She has a Master of Science in gerontology from St. Joseph's University and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and marketing from Temple University, graduating magna cum laude. As an advisory council member, Switalski was appointed to Montgomery County Area on Aging from 1993-2001, serving as co-president for two years. An avid writer, she was profiled in 1978 and 1992, as "Citizen of the Week" for the Ambler Gazette, which also published her poems.Switalski volunteers at Artman's Lutheran Home in Ambler. She also volunteered for Wissahickon and Caring Hospices. She and her husband, Tom, have three children and four grandchildren. Susanne had a long and successful work history, and now she is happily retired. She lives with her long-time fiancé and a very special cat in San Diego, California, her hometown. She has two adult children as well, ages 25 and 36. She is a retired civil servant, having worked for cities, counties, state, and federal governments, as well as for an elementary- and middle-school district, a community college district, in addition to having worked for a private practice (retired) dentist as one of his chairside assistants-as an RDA. Being now retired, Susanne has plenty of time to write, which she finds thoroughly enjoyable.

Froelich, originally from near Baltimore, Maryland, spent a little over twenty years in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the Army in 2008, he joined the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in northern New York State. He worked road patrol for three years, and when a K-9 position opened up, he interviewed for and was selected to be a member of the K-9 Unit. K-9 Abel is his second K-9 partner, and the two have been together since March of 2017. Deputy Froelich is certified by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services as a K-9 trainer and loves working with the dogs and the other handlers. In his spare time, Deputy Froelich enjoys family time, fishing, and playing with his K-9 partner, and he is very active in managing and coaching local youth baseball programs.
