This book of poetry promotes self-love, self-respect, and self-worth in women. Tre'Nise Jemel wants to help women find and love themselves from the inside out. She went through an abusive and controlling relationship as well as a series of dead-end relationships that left her empty and wanting something better for herself. She believed she went through this as a result of not loving, knowing, or respecting herself enough to know she deserved better. After finding herself heartbroken and empty repeatedly, Jemel found herself in Christ. In Him she found solace and through her writing she found peace. Her hope for this book is that readers take her experiences and her pain and learn that loving and finding one's self is critical to being happy.About the AuthorTre'Nise Jemel is a graduate student pursuing her MSW (Master of Social Work) degree with hopes of working with children and families. She believes in empowering and advocating for people who cannot do it for themselves. She finds meaning in working with children who have been in vulnerable situations, such as various types of abuse, and their families because the development of one's self starts at home. With her own past experiences as a victim of domestic abuse, she would also like to work with victims of domestic violence, helping to inspire women to find love for themselves and find the strength to change their situations. Family is her greatest joy, and she cannot wait for the day that she becomes a wife and mother.

  • von Rick Anthony

Myself and Other Strangers is, as the author notes in his preface, a "midlife confessional" and an "autobiographical outpouring" that invites the reader into a man's interior life-one that proves to be both chaotic and entertaining. Facing a classic midlife crisis at the height of the 1990s, Rick Anthony embarked on a course that changed his life on many levels. His struggles, experiences, and thoughts are shared frankly, with a wry wit that softens some of the hard lessons learned. Anthony dares to share what many hide: doubts and weaknesses, impulses and hesitations, and, most of all, genuine emotions. Written as a series of brief essays, Myself and Other Strangers is about coming to grips with who you are, no matter where you are in life.About the AuthorRick Anthony's first recollection of writing was when he was eight or nine years old. He wrote a poem (that he still remembers) when he was in the third or fourth grade of elementary school. He continued to write in high school, where he edited and wrote a column for the school's newspaper and had several of his pieces published in the New York Post, which, he claims, was a respectable newspaper in those days. He wrote a senior thesis on e. e. cummings that subsequently enabled him to graduate with honors from Brown University. He also wrote at least two plays and a number of lyrics that were incorporated into original student musical comedies. Some of his non-creative, as he calls them, writings were also published in academic, historical, and business journals when he was an undergraduate and then a Ph.D. student at New York University and during his business career. Anthony's "day job" was as a founder and senior executive of an internationally known corporate communications counseling firm. That task, he says, delayed whatever future he might otherwise have had as a writer, but he did have a successful and rewarding career in business. He is looking forward to pursuing his "next gig," but has no idea as to what it might be. He does say, however, that it will not be writing. We shall see.

Confessions of a Former Saint by Dominic M. Verchiani, MA Phd. is a truly riveting biography of a boy, who knew at a very early age that his 'calling' was to be a priest--every Italian mother's dream. The tapestry he has woven depicts his caring nature and belief in God, all while being terribly uncomfortable with some of the dogma, hypocrisy, and events he witnessed and experienced within the Catholic Church. Wanting to set things right in his life, he met someone who turned this world upside down. From this point, he knew where his heart and soul desired to be, but now he struggled to find his way to personal happiness as he continued his lifelong need to serve others.About the AuthorBorn in 1916 in Italy, Dominic Verchiani left home at the tender age of 11 to attend the seminary, desiring of become a priest and counsel others, while making his family proud. After a year, he became aware of the duplicity and abuse-both emotional and physical-and struggled for years to find a way to create awareness and change in the policies of the Roman Catholic Church. He was relocated to the United States as a teacher and was blessed to meet Leontina, a wonderfully kind and understanding woman. She would later become his wife and the mother of his children, Patricia and Michael. He left the Church at age 36, and continued his life as a husband, father, and an educator, while writing this book to draw attention to problems that exist in the Church with its strict rules. Though disillusioned with the Church, he never lost his faith in God. Rebuked in 1982 when he tried to make his story public, Dominic Verchiani is now deceased, but his children have graciously honored his desire to share this enlightening narrative with the world.
