Being called to a position of leadership is an honor and also the task, especially if you are a woman. I recognize that I have been called to a position of leadership that requires me to share my personal experiences with developing into a woman of virtue. This is not something that has come easy because for much of my life, I neither understood the definition of virtue nor believed that I had the capacity to achieve it.I have been called to a work of breaking the cycles and break the chains to create women of virtue. This means I am going to be a nontraditional leader in the sense that the way God is using me may contradict much of the tradition that we have learned in the modern church. I am not the kind of leader who will sit quietly in disagreement when I hear someone teaching scripture incorrectly. Incorrect teaching almost cost me my life, literally. Because I had incorrect and incomplete teaching about the Word of God, I was left vulnerable. I found myself in a position of hopelessness. I was hopeless to the point that I wrote letters of apology to my family members for the way that I had failed them and then attempted suicide.You see, I spent my whole life trying to measure up, trying to be loved by others. I have been an overachieving child in hopes that it would change my relationships with my father and my mother. I later became an overachieving girlfriend who would do whatever my boyfriend asked me to do, just for the sake of feeling loved and accepted by him. Later, I grew into the overachieving, yet inexperienced wife. You would think that surviving the suicide attempt would have been something that brought me joy. But instead, it made me feel like even more of a failure.I believed that I could not even achieve this successfully. The fact that I felt hopeless enough to take such desperate actions would not seem so surprising for someone who didn't "know the Lord".At the age of 19, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, believing that this singular act of surrender would transform my life and move me from the place of misery after the death of my mother. I was only 18 when she passed from cancer, at the tender age of 47.

As you read, you may wonder what moved me to write about such things as these to follow. You see, some time ago I discovered that it's the untold things in our lives that often contribute the most to who we've become. The untold stories, good and bad, have been used by God to mold me into the woman that I am today.In this book, unsung heroes will be recognized, villains will be exposed, and ALL will be forgiven. Letting go of my past and forgiving me was the hardest thing I ever had to do.I used to believe that what others said, thought or felt about me defined my worth and my destiny. I've come to understand that the key to my health, my sanity, and my blessings all lay in my obedience to God. I hope that you can learn from my stories and experiences and find your own path to obedience. The true stories to follow are being shared for the making of a woman somewhere that has no idea that your mess can become her ministry and the fuel that propels you into excellence. No matter what you've been through or what you've done because of it, you are worthy of being loved, worthy of respect, and you do indeed have a purpose for being here. I am stepping into a very vulnerable position to share things that may cause you to judge me. If you feel tempted to judge, remember that God is faithful and just to forgive. I would ask you to show me some grace as well. For the reader who can identify with any part of my life, be encouraged. God is not finished with you yet. Your purpose is meant to help others. Just trust Him.

Alejandro Hawk, Taming Border Towns and The Long Ride Home, met Adam Mathews in a town where the townspeople would not stand up to the outlaws that would come into the town and kill the citizens and rob them.Adam was 12 at the time and several other boys his age, fought off the outlaws with the Hawk. Adam''s father was an outlaw wanted for murder, cattle rustling and bank robbery. He was killed by US Marshals a year earlier. Adam''s mother died around the same time. He was leaving town, that did not want him because of who his father was, when Hawk caught up with him and asked him to come to their ranch in northern California as Hawk''s son.Adam was surprised and smiled. Dr. Richard S. Beal Jr. was my dad. A year or so before he died, he handed me his autobiography, the first draft of a book about his life, and asked me to publish it and pass it on to the family. As I read his notes and stories, I realized it was not unlike a graduate level textbook, easy for some to read but not for most of us. Considerable editing would be required.I also realized there were gaps. Large time periods had been omitted from his life which I thought would be of interest to a reader and should be included. Some of these gaps, I guessed, were perhaps too painful to address. I suspect some gaps indicated a different frame of mind, suggesting he was simply not interested in it or he had forgotten because it was dull. He was the graduate dean at Northern Arizona University for 20 years. You would think he would have a great deal to say about that time in his life, but he did not. His memory of administrative work at NAU consisted of pushing papers and attending meetings. He found joy and satisfaction outside, in nature, collecting insects and understanding more of God''s creation. I recalled some stories about NAU''s President, Dr. Walkup, his boss whom he admired greatly, and other interesting quips I heard at the dinner table. Dr. Walkup used to drop by and visit once a month or so. I also remembered many quiet conversations with Dad as well as many stories of adventure and discovery that simply had to be in such a book as this.The gaps in the book were written by me. They are my memories of living with him, as well as a few stories from others. Some of my memories are of conversations while sitting on his office floor at our house. There were conversations in the desert while camping out in sleeping bags, conversations at the dinner table and conversations in the car. Other memories consist of what I saw and learned about him for over 60 years. Much of the time he was turning over rocks, pulling bark off dead pine trees, looking under cow pies, pulling swallow nests out from under high bridges, finding aquatic insects, sitting in church, driving in the forest, camping, hiking, leading boy scouts, and more.When you read this book, you will first notice it is not in a perfect timeline. The first chapter tells you what my life with Dr. Richard S. Beal Jr. looked like growing up, accompanied by plenty of adventure and fun. The next chapters consist of his early life and are broken into categories like growing up in Tucson, snakes and zoology, Boy Scouts, homelife, pets and vacations, dating, education, and more adventure. You will see what life was like living in early Tucson before and during the great depression.The book brings you interesting people he and my mother, Billie, meet along the way like Virgil Partch, Bishop John Taylor Smith, John Dillinger, Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, Bernard Ramm, Jim Rayburn, Dr. Harry Ironside, Dr. Harold Ockenga, Dr. Robert Snodgrass, and Dr. Carl Armerding to name a few. After my Mother died, Dad remarried for the remaining 27 years of his life and made it all the way to the ripe old age of 98. It seemed as if the end of his life was just as, or even more productive, than the beginning, but you should decide that.I also included some addendum''s at the end you might find interesting or helpful in understanding who he was and how he thought. I briefly prefaced each of his actual writings about Christian faith, atheism, and the Biblical account of the flood from the book of Genesis. After leaving NAU, he was deeply concerned with how Christian college students would keep their faith in such a faithless environment. He felt that few of them were well prepared. In Dad''s view, they didn''t know their Bible or have much understanding of science. This concern prompted the insertion of the addendum''s.

Being a headstrong woman, we have our own fair share of struggles, and so does Mayuri. This is a story that makes you wonder about the magic of love, the secret bond two people share, and the elixir of life. 

I hope this book is as interesting for you to read as it was for me to write.  I think all of the “How to” manuals were written by men who had been riding for years.  I thought this would be a different perspective.As you can see looking through the pages starting at the front of the book are the driving lessons and if you turn the book upside down and start at the back of the book you will find my actual experiences and practices. REMEMBER – if I can do it, you can do it.The life experiences for the lessons are separate from the lesson plans so as not to sway you one way or the another before you go out and practice.  Don’t get discouraged.  Please wait until after your practice to read my actual experience.  You might be surprised.Your lesson probably will be better then you thought.  It has to go better than mine.

Through this year the story takes the characters though twists and turns Australia, Italy and England. It is not over until it is over.

God's word states, "It is not good for man to be alone. "God, Where is My Man" was written to encourage, build self-worth and value for every woman, regardless of their negative past relationships or the opinion of others. Knowing and trusting God is the foundation for life. God's plan is best for you and that includes the man that will love you like Christ loves the church.
