  • - A Life's Journey of the Creative Process
    von Sue Hassel
    17,00 €

RANDOM THOUGHTS OF A CREATIVE MIND is a collection of all of Hassel’s writings that have been submitted literally since grade school to present time, including one short story delivered in a big writing class that scandalized some, left others howling with laughter, and the remainder thinking quietly as they left for home. Her take on life is unique having grown up on a farm doing heavy labor with her father on and around heavy equipment. She is quite a horsewoman, and above all, she would say, “What you see is what you get.” Hassel is also a fine painter (see cover art), and a gifted amateur dancer enpointe and modern.Sue Hassel grew up on a farm in Wisconsin, attended the UW, Madison, and then went to Europe. Her mother Elenora was a homemaker (who designed and sewed clothes for friends and family). Her father, Carl was an oil trucker for 41 years, a natural horseman and very gifted and humane in handling horses and all animals. Both parents had 8th grade educations. Both of their lives exceeded their educational levels. Sue has an older sister, Beverly, former Professor of piano at UW, Oshkosh, who is the real pianist in the family. Sue considers herself the hotdog pianist. She has to have fun playing piano, i.e. the virtuoso repertoire.  www.suehassel.com

The Great CentennialThe Great Centennial is about a time of discovery and rediscovery. It is about a time of leaving behind a civilized life; the stress and pettiness of urban crowds, neighbor cheating neighbor, and all its lies and hypocrisy to a life back in time-a time of great beauty, simplicity, sweet harmony, and unity, with man and beast alike. On August 25, 2016, we celebrated one hundred years of the administration and stewardship of our great national parks, established in the immortal words of our twenty-sixth US president Theodore Roosevelt, "for the benefit and enjoyment of the people."The Great Centennial continues our celebration for the next one hundred years, and beyond, and for generations yet unborn. This photo-documentary book takes us on a journalistic and literary tour through time and space: through natural and human history, poetry, song, discovery, and rediscovery featuring such national parks as Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Shenandoah, and Theodore Roosevelt. Also featured is a Montana state park, and national historic landmark, where the Missouri River begins at the convergence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin Rivers, in a wilderness all her own. Also featured are conservation heroes like George Bird Grinnell, John Muir, Stuart Udall, and author Terry Tempest Williams. Majestic grizzlies, great buffalo herds, prairie dog cities, and jousting bighorn rams are among the wildlife standouts. From mountain skylines to vast rolling prairies to dense primeval forests to a canyon so grand as to be a world all her own, our national parks, and overall wilderness heritage, are God's blessing and America's cornerstone. In The Great Centennial is great healing and tranquility for one and all.Les MacLean Author of The Great Centennial

Saints and church leaders have stated that the Holy Spirit is the forgotten Person of the Blessed Trinity. We are not sure of who He is or what He does, or what we really believe about Him. The author here shares what may be considered a list of the Spirit's attributes. He describes in detail the work of the Holy Spirit as Creator of life, as Consoler, as Protector of the Church. He encourages the reader to take comfort in recognizing that Jesus sent the Spirit as "another friend" to His followers. The intent is to help individuals and bible study groups to see more clearly what the Spirit means to our daily life. At the end of each chapter, there is a brief conversation with the Holy Spirit in the belief that the best way to deepen any relationship is one-on-one conversation.

  • - A Minister's Memoir
    von Lawrence Lapierre
    14,00 €

The author is a retired United Methodist minister and a former Department of Veterans Affairs Chief Chaplain. He writes about a series of people to whom he owes a debt of gratitude for the difference that they made in his life. When asked how he got to be a minister after working in laboratories for eighteen years, he responds, "It's a long story but the short version of it is that I had a twenty-one year argument with God." Most people pause and then say, "And God won." Yes, God won! The book describes how God worked through many people to equip him to face changes in denomination, career path and education. The book originates with a desire to thank the people who helped him to make the changes that God called him to make. This, in turn, began with a decision by the United Methodist Church conference where he holds membership to limit retiring pastors to no more than a three minute talk at their retirement ceremony. He decided that there were far too many people to thank to even begin to try in a three minute speech. This book is the result of his desire to thank those who helped him as he struggled to become the person God needed him to be at each stage in his life.

  • - From Conception to Coronation
    von Phd Arthur Deegan II
    14,00 €

Unlike many books and treatises on the hidden life of Mary which deal with her life at Nazareth with Jesus and Joseph, the author discusses Mary's hidden life as referring not to a period of time but to a characteristic of her entire life as hidden in humility. The intent is to see Mary's humility as a model in animating our every action. He traces this virtue in sixteen different periods and events in the life of Mary from her Immaculate Conception to her coronation as queen of the universe. After each, he offers a brief conversation with Mary, in the belief that the best way to deepen a personal relationship with anyone is one-on-one conversation.

  • - A Collection of Poems
    von Emerson Custis
    9,48 €

Life sometimes takes us to task. So we seek our knowledge from the past, Only to learn that life is an ever changing path that rolls us in and out of the shadows. Like a captain of your ship a sail, Without a Beacon, you'll surely fail To find your way upon the seas of life, And run aground in tears and strife. That's why the Beacon came to be, To shine its light on you and me, And help guide us safely to shore, To be lost in life's seas no more.
