"Stop The Tsunami" is the English language version of an Irish (Gaelic) novel published by Cló Iar-Chonnacht in An Spidéal in the West of Ireland. It tells the story of a couple on a mythical island called "The Western Isle" off the Atlantic coast. They have money to spend, some say from a lotto win, others from tunneling in Britain and the Middle East, they decide to invest in environmental projects to help save the island as well as the planet. Tom builds a wall on the clifftop to break the power of freak waves, He has a folk memory of a wave that swept fifteen men to their deaths on a neighbouring island more than a century ago. Róisín acquires land to cover with glass and provide fruits and vegetables for the island. Their two children live quite an is idyllic life, close to their grandfather whose wife is in a Nursing Home with dementia. She was the keeper of a thousand year old religious relic which she has forgotten where she left it. The children blame their dog, Topsy for eating the bone. Politics, religion, and the threat of extinction by a Tsunami dominate conversations on an island which can be seen as a microcosm of our fire and ocean threatened world. But wit and wisdom live there too.

This is a collection of stories and art work from the career of a middle school art teacher in New York City. These stories by the author and creations by his students create a picture of what he experienced teaching kids in an inner-City school about art and life, which allowed them to bring their impressive talents to the foreground and help them develop greater self-esteem and appreciation of creativity.

The inspiration for this story came from my two pets, Aki and Paris. Both are like little kids: cute, gentle,and very affectionate. And yet, like many kids, they are also silly, cunning, mischievous, and naughty. This could be the real story of an American family mom, dad, and their two kids, a boy and a girl. To be more precise, the two kids are not exactly kids but an adopted white puppy and a rescued Maine Coon kitten. The family is as diverse as any other American family today. Let Heaven decide, is about the moving story of a promising young basketball star who married his high school sweet heart and lavished her with silver and gold, but when a debilitating injury sidelined him and the streams of money wasn't coming in, she treated him with ignominy and Josh was forced to leave his house, his marriage and his only begotten daughter.It's also a story of how Josh's mother conspired with Heaven her granddaughter to hide her in her house pretending not to have any knowledge of her whereabouts. It's likewise a story of redemption, forgiveness and how Heaven became like the very stone which the builders rejected, that eventually brought the family together.

In addition to reflecting my passion for travelling, a couple of themes emerged during the journey and writing of the book. Firstly, travel is quite a challenge for my wife, Sylvia, who has Parkinson's disease and who, as a disabled person, needs a wheelchair for getting around most of the time. This adds a whole new dimension to the practicability of travel, which my book addresses.A second theme, however, apparent almost from Day One of our travels, emerged and never really left us during our time in the Americas. This can briefly be encapsulated in a single word - freedom. We came across it when we saw the Statue of Liberty in New York and in talking to people in New York, and again in Philadelphia, with its links to the American War of Independence from the UK, where we walked in the footsteps of George Washington. In Latin America we were constantly reminded of their struggles for independence from Spain, both in Colombia and Argentina, where the two larger-than-life liberators, Simon Bolivar and José de San Martin, continue to wield an influence and presence that still seems to permeate life in both of these countries.Our story follows our travels and interactions with friends and strangers, from New York, across to Philadelphia and then down to Colombia and Argentina. Mike and Sylvia experienced many acts of kindness as well as great moments of discovery, as they travelled down the spine of the Americas, and our hope is that people, particularly with disabilities, will feel confident to step out of their comfort zones and explore a little more of what this wonderful world and its varied communities has to offer.

Counting Petals uses the counting format to introduce the lovely flowers of Hawai'i and to practice counting. The photographs were snapped with a digital camera while walking in the neighborhoods, parks, school grounds and botanical gardens in Honolulu, Hawai'i.Counting is a forerunner in the learning of basic mathematics. Counting involves being able to match objects. In this book it is the matching of numerals in a given sequence to the petals of a flower. It also involves representing sets of objects by numerals. Children should be encouraged to count when an opportunity presents itself.
