Essay aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Politik - Thema: Europäische Union, Note: 3,0, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Global Governance - Regieren im Weltmaßstab?, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Laufe dieser Hausarbeit möchte ich mich mit der Frage auseinandersetzen, welches die beste Organisationsform für Europa und somit der beste Weg für die Nationalstaaten, im besonderen Deutschland ist. Dabei unterscheide ich zwischen zwei möglichen Organisationsformen, dem Bundesstaat und dem Staatenbund. Ich habe diese Fragestellung aus gegebenem Anlass gewählt, da zurzeit das Problem der Staatsschuldenkrise im europäischen Raum ein Akutes ist und die Politik aus diesem Grund seit einiger Zeit über eine grundlegende Reorganisation der Europäischen Union und ihrer Institutionen und Gremien nachdenkt. Auf den folgenden Seiten werde ich mich mit zwei Fragen auseinandersetzen: Welche Organisationsform ist zum Erhalt der Handlungsfähigkeit der Europäischen Union die optimale und welche für den Erhalt nationaler Interessen. Des Weiteren stelle ich die Frage, ob es so etwas wie eine europäische Identität gibt oder geben kann. Die These, die ich dabei belegen möchte ist die, dass ein freiheitlicher Staatenbund mit klaren Regeln zu einem besseren Europa beitragen kann, als ein Bundesstaat. Hierzu werde ich Texte analysieren und versuchen die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse zusammenzufassen und für meine These zu verwerten. Dazu mache ich eine Bestandsaufnahme des jetzigen Zustandes und der Funktionsweisen der Institutionen und Gremien der europäischen Union und schneide dabei auch die Probleme an, welche sich im Rahmen der Staatsschuldenkrise ergeben haben. Dies tue ich, da im Vorhinein der Verständlichkeit halber ein klares Bild des politischen Gebildes Europa gezeichnet werden muss und die Wechselwirkungen zwischen dem Europäischen Rat, der Europäischen Kommission und dem Europäischen Parlament, sowie der Europäischen Zentralbank mit den Nationalstaaten dargelegt werden. Der Fokus liegt hierbei auf der Problemlösungskompetenz der Europäische Union und der Nationalstaaten. Anschließend stelle ich die Modelle Bundesstaat und Staatenbund mit ihrer jeweiligen Bedeutung für die Europäische Union und die Nationalstaaten gegenüber und wäge sowohl für die Nationalstaaten, als auch die Gremien und Institutionen der EU die Pros und Contras ab. Dabei beleuchte ich auch, welche Schritte unternommen werden müssen und wo Reformbedarf liegt, wenn man sich auf den Weg zu einem Bundesstaat begeben will. Im Anschluss daran versuche ich die eingangs vorgestellten Leitfragen zu beantworten um letzten Endes die Frage, welche der Titel meiner Hausarbeit aufwirft zu beantworten.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Politik - Politisches System Deutschlands, Note: 2,0, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Wirtschaftspolitik im föderalen System der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ich beschäftige mich in meiner Arbeit mit den Konstruktionsfehlern des Länderfinanzausgleichs, weil der Ruf nach der Abschaffung jenes Finanzausgleiches aus den ¿Geberländern¿ Hessen, Baden-Württemberg und Bayern immer lauter wird. Diese Bundesländer sehen sich immer mehr in einer unfairen Wettbewerbssituation, da sie Einnahmen, die wohl zur Haushaltskonsolidierung verwendet werden könnten, an andere Bundesländer transferiert werden, damit diese aufgrund ihrer geringeren Wirtschaftskraft die Aufgaben erledigen können, die ihnen von der übergeordneten Bundesebene auferlegt werden. Dabei gilt es den Länderfinanzausgleich aus einer Sichtweise der Gerechtigkeit zu beurteilen und es sollte erwähnt sein, dass eine Abschaffung des Länderfinanzausgleichs keinesfalls zu einer Lösung der gegenwärtigen Probleme beiträgt, sondern sie im Gegenteil maximiert. Der Länderfinanzausgleich darf keineswegs aus einer rein finanz- oder steuerpolitischen Betrachtungsweise gesehen werden, da er überdies einem gesellschaftspolitischen Zweck dient und eine wichtige Rolle im Zusammenwachsen des deutschen Volkes spielt. Hier stellt sich die Frage nach der innerdeutschen Solidarität und nicht die Frage einer Neiddebatte, die verheerende Folgen für die deutsche Gesellschaft im Gesamten hat und Missgunst und Abneigungen schürt. Im Folgenden werde ich die Begriffe des vertikalen und horizontalen Finanzausgleichs erläutern und diese dann im Länderfinanzausgleich zusammenführen, welchen es als vertikaler Finanzausgleich mit horizontalem Effekt einzuordnen gilt. Im Anschluss an diese Begriffserklärungen werde ich anhand von Defiziten bei der momentanen Umsetzung des Länderfinanzausgleichs die Konstruktionsfehler des gegenwärtigen Systems aufweisen um im darauffolgenden Fazit nicht nur die Erkenntnisse, welche ich aus dieser Arbeit gewonnen habe aufzuzeigen, sondern auch mögliche Lösungen für die vorhandenen Probleme anzubieten. Die Forschungsfrage, die ich beantworten möchte ist die nach der Verbesserung des Systems des Länderfinanzausgleichs. Konkret stellt sich die Frage: Wie lässt sich der Länderfinanzausgleich gerechter gestalten?Bei der Erkenntnisgewinnung werde ich hermeneutisch vorgehen und anhand von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten und Artikeln aus der Tagespresse, sowie Informationsbescheiden, welche von staatlicher Seite herausgegeben wurden und Monographien einen kumulierten Wissensertrag vorbringen, mit dem ich versuchen werde, die aufgezeigten Probleme zu lösen.

Heritage assessment tools play a key role of helping health care and service providers assess and evaluate the cultural health methods (Viginia & Catana, 2010). All individuals living in a community have their heritage which is different from culture. These types of traditional health assessment majorly deal with peoples spiritual, mental and physical beliefs. Communities have varieties of beliefs on death, illness, health and diseases. In most of the societies, health is termed as a complete balance between an individual¿s mind, body, spirit and family in relation to other external forces of the world. All this beliefs play important roles in heritage assessment because they give a holistic approach for addressing this issue. It helps both the health provider and the patient to find an effective and efficient communication that will enhance health (Philos, 2010).The ultimate goal of heritage assessment in nursing is to collect information about the various beliefs that will establish traditional competence among the health care providers. Traditional and cultural health methods are used in health maintenance, health protection and health restoration. Health maintenance can be termed as designed approach of preventing a disease and promote health. Health protection is a tool used to give an explanation of how individuals maintain their health on a daily routine. Health restoration is the act of restoring an individual¿s health to its maximum level. This paper is going to investigate three families. Several movements have been established across the globe to preach peace, social justice and ecological sustainability. We often come across inspiring stories of individuals or groups utilizing their ingenuity in ensuring social justice and environmental protection. Sivaraksa in his book Conflict, Culture, Change: Engaged Buddhism in a Globalizing World notes that modernization is the root source of cultural erosion amongst the people of Siam. According to Sivaraksa, modernization has come with lack of respect for nature, social justice and equality (Sivaraksa 107). Sivaraksa fends for the survival of his tradition ¿ Buddhism. In essence, Sivaraksa is not entirely opposed to modernization; rather, he observes that the modernization process can also borrow from the sustainable traditional approaches. He is keen to select from and rebuild Buddhism in a quest for the traditional roots of his religion. Sivaraksa identifies the complex and ambiguous nature of modernity, and asserts the need to embrace the spirit of Buddhism in its traditional form (43). Sivaraksa relates the modern history of Siam to that of Thai during the Western Imperialism. Even though King Mongkut employed several diplomatic efforts to defend Thai from foreign dominance, the Westren imperialists developed new reforms that saw a change in the culture, administrative structure, educational system and even the military structure. As a result of the elite¿s leadership, Siam grew so fast to become more like a Western center. During King Ramäs reign, western culture dominated the lifestyles of the Siam people. Though Congress passed a law in 1937 to outlaw smoking and possession of marijuana in America, millions of America still smokes marijuana. There are a number of reasons that marijuana smokers¿ site as to why they continue to smoke marijuana. Yet, the government when outlawing marijuana also gave its own reasons, but it seems to have failed. As observed by Gettman despite of a lot of efforts to eradicate domestic marijuana, ¿production of marijuana has been on a steady increase over time. Since outlawing marijuana has not achieved its desired objectives, time has come to change this law. This research paper thus seeks to review this issue by proposing that marijuana should be legalized.
