Nervous and excited at the same time. It shows how having a support system can really help you through self-doubt. I know this book is about a kid and a sport, but it's really SO much more. Teaching kids to believe in themselves, teaching kids it's okay to feel more than one emotion at a time, teaching other kids to be supportive of others. Love it. And the illustrations are awesome. Great read." Amazon reader"As a rugby coach and a mom, I love this book! It really represents the teamwork needed on a rugby team and the sense of community that a team can provide. It's great that the book includes some rugby rules and how to play. It's a fantastic way to introduce rugby to little future ruggers. My 4-year-old really enjoys the story. The illustrations are really nice too." Amazon reader"This book is a great representation of the fact that rugby is for everyBody. Moreover, it addresses the very real fears of being new to something all while representing a happy young girl playing a contact sport! It is a wonderful showcase of teamwork and how sports help girls gain confidence." Ruth DeMott Ages: 7 to 11, grades 2 to 5Product Size: 8.5" by 8.5"

This story is very relatable and has a great lesson (but it's not overly in your face - my kids hate those books lol) - this is the perfect balance. These lines gave me goosebumps (pictured): "Gilly was relieved that they addressed their great concern. 'Cause no one can do better if they never get to learn". It's a great reminder for kids (and grownups, too). I also LOVE that the author uses vocabulary that is a bit more challenging- it's a great way for kids to learn new words!" ~ Katie Weaver- Author of When the Sky Roars"I am a teacher, so I read a lot of books to my class. They LOVED this book!!! It is one of the cutest books that I have seen in a long time. Perfect for the Halloween season, as well as any other time if the year!!! It helps teach and illustrate some important values of friendship. The author brings the characters to life in a fun and child friendly way. My first graders loved it!!! They keep asking me to read it again!!! Do yourself and your children a favor. Buy this book. You won't be sorry!!!" ~ Amazon customerSize: 8.5" X 8.5"Ages: 5 to 11, grades K to 5

I would definitely stock my classroom with this book if I had any students with military parents. The illustrations and text are formatted in an aesthetically pleasing way. Even if a child didn't have a military parent, I feel like they could still learn about inner strength from this book." Lexi V."I got a little teary-eyed reading this and thinking how hard it would be to have a loved one deployed and how hard it must have been for my family when our family members were deployed. We love this author/illustrator combo and the inclusive characters and beautiful graphics. Another great book for the kid's library!" Casey L.A very wonderful, well-written and rhymed story. The story is very heartwarming and encourages kids to be kind and include other kids, come up with creative solutions and keep looking for true friends that will be there for them no matter what. A great story about friendship. The tips at the end of the book are cute and helpful. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and inspired my 7 year old to find Zoe's website and look through more of her work. We love how Dino starts out grey and gets his colors back as his friendships blossom. We also love that the characters are diverse and my daughter really liked the cool stone wheelchair and the various hairstyles. She was so inspired, she plans to be Dino Deegan for our book week (Australia) and Halloween! We found a dinosaur costume and she's going to wear a tie-dye shirt over it. She also noticed the dogs in the book and we loved that they are the Author's dog and the illustrator's dog who recently passed away. Beautiful book"- Casey Lewis"This is probably one of the best books we read in the last couple of months. And I'm not just saying that because of the main character being a dinosaur, the kids being very diverse, the rhymes flowing beautifully, or the illustrations being magnificent. What we loved most in fact was how the main character and the other kids in the book underwent a significant personal development that was visualised in the book through art (Spoiler: The dino starts out as being grey = mainly invisible to others, and turned colourful towards the end = having found a true friend and recognition for who he is). Overall, a great read that I'll recommend to my sons' preschool and school, respectively." - Dr. Jana Broecker- Author and Scientist
