Each of the chapters in Disinfection of Viruses touches on virucidal efficacy for SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent for the COVID-19 disease, or enveloped viral surrogates. SARS-CoV-2 is an enveloped virus of the Coronaviridae family and therefore is expected to be susceptible to all classes of microbicides. The book is divided into three sections. Section 1: ¿Microbicides for Viral Inactivation,¿ includes chapters on the efficacy of chemical virucides, Section 2: ¿Physical Inactivation Approaches,¿ includes a chapter on the efficacy of gamma irradiation, ultraviolet light, and heat for inactivating coronaviruses, and Section 3: ¿Viral Persistence and Disinfection,¿ includes data on viral persistence for SARS-CoV-2, as these data inform the need for and the approaches that might be used for disinfection.

Animal food production faces many challenges including shortage of high-quality feed ingredients, contribution of greenhouse gases and pollutants to the environment, development of antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and animal health and welfare. This examines these issues over three sections. The first section is the introduction. Its use is based not only on the capacity to calculate the molecular characteristics of the species of interest but also on the provision of interesting concepts that aid in a better understanding of the chemical reactivity of the systems under study. This book presents examples of recent advances, new perspectives, and applications of DFT for the understanding of chemical reactivity through descriptors forming the basis of Conceptual DFT as well as the application of the theory and its related computational procedures in the determination of the molecular properties of different systems of academic, social, and industrial interest.

Brain-computer interfacing (BCI) with the use of advanced artificial intelligence identification is a rapidly growing new technology that allows a silently commanding brain to manipulate devices ranging from smartphones to advanced articulated robotic arms when physical control is not possible. BCI can be viewed as a collaboration between the brain and a device via the direct passage of electrical signals from neurons to an external system. A computed tomography (CT) scan uses X-rays and a computer to create detailed images of the inside of the body. CT scanners measure, versus different angles, X-ray attenuations when passing through different tissues inside the body through rotation of both X-ray tube and a row of X-ray detectors placed in the gantry. These measurements are then processed using computer algorithms to reconstruct tomographic (cross-sectional) images. CT can produce detailed images of many structures inside the body, including the internal organs, blood vessels, and bones. This book presents a comprehensive overview of CT scanning. Fusarium is a large cosmopolitan genus of ascomycete fungi that are among the most important toxigenic plant pathogens causing seed and soil-borne diseases in a wide variety of agricultural crops worldwide.
