Dr. Meghnad Saha was a renowned astrophysicist from India. He was a scientist and actively contributed to spreading and inspiring science education in India. He organised an active school of research in Calcutta and Allahabad. He founded the Institute of Nuclear Physics at Calcutta and the laboratories of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. He took the keenest interest in national planning, especially science and industry. Dr. Meghnad Saha realised that science education is necessary for national development. Tertiary Education, i.e., Higher Education as popularly known world over is not known to Royal Sikkim till late 20th Century. When India attained its independence, it became the Protector of the Royal Sikkim also. However, in the year 1975, the Royal Sikkim has been annexed to India as its 22nd State. By then, there was not even one institution of higher education in the State of Sikkim except two religious institutions and a night college. The citizens of Sikkim were introduced to higher education since 1977 only. First university level institution came into existence due to private initiative and thereafter a revolution in higher education started in Sikkim. The author has conducted a study on the growth and development of Industries and the problems of environmental pollution because of cement industries. He has also studied the effects of pollution in the lives of workers of cement industry such as medical treatment, special diet, sanitation, etc,. The major findings of his research are majority of the workers working in cement industry has been suffering from air pollution and noice pollution and they are spending major part of their income for medical treatment. The author has also suggested to establish health centers, to follow measures to reduce air pollution, water pollution and noice pollution to save the lives of the workers working in cement industries.

This project is aimed at designing and constructing an automatic voltage regulator that will give a constant output range from 220V to 250V for domestic use. It also has an inbuilt digital voltmeter which displays the magnitude of the input voltage. The AVR is divide into four mains parts; the supply, the autotransformer, the switching circuit and the display. The supply section has to do with the rectification and filtration of 220/230 volts from the supply mains into a lower and suitable voltage to drive the semiconductor devices. The transformer is a device having two coils of different t voltage levels. The switching circuits include the comparator, transistor and relay which determines the output of the AVR.

This study aims to explore the application of Operations Research (OR) techniques for optimizing job assignment processes using MATLAB software. Job assignment is a critical task in many organizations, and efficient allocation of tasks to individuals or resources can significantly improve productivity and overall performance. By leveraging OR methodologies and MATLAB's computational capabilities, this study seeks to develop an optimized job assignment model that minimizes costs, maximizes resource utilization, and enhances operational efficiency. Obesity increases cancer risk and mortality. Weight-reducing strategies in obesity-associated cancers are important interventions as a key component of cancer care. Future studies are warranted to further elucidate the complex relationship between obesity and cancer with the identification of targets for effective interventions.Obesity is a one of the major but preventable global health crises that has been linked to major chronic illness and several cancers, with increased morbidity and mortality. In this study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were incorporated into chitosan to develop Chitosan AgNP films. The structural, physical, and functional properties of chitosan AgNPs films were compared with those of chitosan and chitosan AgNPs films. Fourier transform infrared suggested the interactions between chitosan and AgNPs were based on coordination effect. This research was performed to extract chitosan from oyster shells which is a considered as a crustacean waste and to analyse its biological activities for commercial applications. Oyster is the common name for the various families of salt-water molluscs that live in brackish or marine habitats and which is abundant in chitin polysaccharide. Chitin is a ¿-(1¿4) linked GlcNAc polysaccharide and chitosan is a major derivative of chitin. Chitin and chitosan are linear biopolymer with exceptional bioactive properties, such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, nontoxicity, antimicrobial activity, and haemostatic activity. Oyster shell were demineralized and deproteinized to obtain chitin and it was deacetylated to yield chitosan. The extracted chitosan was characterized by degree of deacetylation and FT-IR Spectroscopy.

The main aim of the present investigation was to formulate and characterize a ¿-cyclodextrin loaded indomethacin mouth dissolving film to bypass the first pass metabolism Indomethacin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAIA) with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic activity. Its pharmacological effect is thought to be mediated through inhibition of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), the enzyme responsible for catalyses the rate-limiting step in prostaglandin synthesis via the arachidonic acid pathway. indomethacin- ¿ cyclodextrin loaded mouth dissolving film prepared by solvent evaporation technique with various hydrophilic polymers like hydroxyl Propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) 15cps, HPMC K100M, SLS(sodium lauryl sulphate), and PEG 400 & PEG 600.The formulated mouth dissolving film were evaluated for their physiochemical parameters like weight variation, thickness, folding endurance, drug content, moisture content and moisture absorption. In vitro drug release was carried out by dissolution apparatus. All these mouth dissolving film were shows >70% of drug released within half an hour and obeyed first order release kinetics.

This project aims to design, implement, and optimize a BMS specifically tailored for lithium-ion batteries, which are widely used due to their high energy density and long cycle life. The laboratory experiments conducted in this study involve the characterization of individual battery cells, including the measurement of key parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge (SOC). These data are crucial for accurately monitoring and controlling the battery's performance and safety. The BMS design incorporates various hardware and software components, including Analog and Digital circuitry, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, and algorithms for cell balancing, state estimation, and fault detection. Through extensive testing and validation, the BMS is refined to ensure robustness, accuracy, and reliability in real-world applications.
