This book is dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of one-dimensional zinc oxide nanostructures (1DZnO) through precision-driven pressure-modulated metal-assisted vapor transport. Thus, presenting compelling results for the controlled growth of high-crystalline 1DZnO nanostructures, enabling the fine-tuning of their optoelectronic and morphological properties. Furthermore, we investigate pivotal applications for these tailored 1DZnO nanostructures: photocatalytic hydrogen production and carbon dioxide sensing, with a view to advancing the green transition agenda. Additionally, the results address the critical challenge of detecting high impact pathogens, highlighting the development of an effective antibody attachment procedure to construct an E. coli optical biosensing layer on 1DZnO materials. This comprehensive work serves researchers, scientists, and engineers specializing in materials science, nanotechnology, and environmental and biosensing technologies, with the aim of addressing the complexities of controlled nanomaterial synthesis and their practical applications in environmental and healthcare contexts.

Since long Orthodontists have been interested in the association between mode of breathing and craniofacial growth. The pharyngeal structure plays an essential role in breathing and swallowing. Respiration through upper airway is a vital functional process impacting craniofacial development. The knowledge of the pharyngeal dimensions amongst various sagittal &vertical facial types is clinically relevant for orthodontists so as to establish a proper orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. The study was done on the Indian population to evaluate the volume of pharyngeal airway among individuals with different growth patterns and was divided into three groups on the basis of the SN mandibular plane angle that is horizontal grower, vertical grower and average growers. The pharyngeal airway volume was calculated with the help of CBCT software.

The increasing popularity of sports betting engages researchers as it seems to target the youth and feed on their love for sports with the promise of a better future. As a double-edged sword, sports betting has both positive and negative outcomes. The consensus seems to be that the negative outcomes outweigh the positive, with some studies pointing to addiction, financial loss and drug/substance abuse. This study explored the motivation for the involvement of the youth of Nima into sports betting. Specifically, the study focused on how and why participants got into sports betting, the positive and negative outcomes they experienced as well as their perceived recommendations on promoting responsible sports betting. Guided by the qualitative research design, 100 sports bettors were conveniently and purposively selected for this study using a well-structured questionnaire.

In the shear reinforcement the shear strength increase due to stirrup inclusion in reinforced concrete beams is analyzed. Shear strength of beams is obtained by adding stirrup and concrete contributions. Because of the complexity of the shear failure mechanism, most current design codes and guidelines are based on highly empirical approaches and consequently should only be used within the bounds of testing regimes from which they were derived. Normally, shear reinforcement of concrete beams consists of traditional stirrups. Replacing the individual stirrups by a continuous spiral can reduce the labor cost for production of the reinforcement cage and improves the shear capacity and ductility in beams. Generally, shear reinforcement of concrete beam consists of rectangular shape stirrups. when replacing the traditional stirrups by continuous spirally and triangular shape stirrup¿s the increase shear carrying capacity of spirally shape stirrups.

A new series of 3N-substituted triazolo-[1,5-c]pyrimidine 7, 8 and 9have been synthesized in good yields (78%¿91%) trough a facile method using substituted 2-amino-3-cyano-pyrans 1,2-amino-3-cyano-4-methylfuran 2, 1-Phenyl-3-thiomethyl-5-aminopyrazole-4-carbonitrile 3 as building block and cyanoacetic acid hydrazide as reagent in one framework. The structure of the synthesized compounds was established on the basis of their mass, spectral data and DFT at B3LYP.

The field extends into more advanced topics such as computational complexity, formal language hierarchies, and the theory of computation. Automata theory is not only important for understanding computation but also has applications in areas like compiler design, software verification, and artificial intelligence.

One of the main causes of learners¿ non-target-like pragmatic performance is the misleading or incomplete input provided by pedagogical materials. As literature suggests, the classroom context is where pragmatic instruction can occur, and literature abounds with the fact that explicit instruction of the target language pragmatic rules is effective in acquiring pragmatic competence. The two approaches of explicit and implicit instructions are different in terms of the degrees of explanations provided in the class. In explicit instruction, learners are provided with rule explanations during instruction. In other words, in explicit method of instruction, various classroom techniques are employed to focus learners¿ attention on structures and forms. In contrast, implicit instruction does not include any explanation of pragmatics or metapragmatic rule provision and refers to methodological possibilities which enable students to infer rules unconsciously. In the current book, the teacher-researcher has tried to examine the effectiveness of each method of instruction (i.e., explicit and implicit) in raising EFL learners¿ awareness of pragmatic.

The impact of natural resources on development has been a controversial issue for decades. Natural resources revenues, for most LDCs, have shown to generate adverse economic and political outcomes. The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) was launched in 2003 as an international policy and institutional intervention aimed at mitigating the negative effects of resource abundance by promoting the transparency of resource revenues and accountability of the governments in resource rich states. Nigeria signed on to the global EITI process, following an official launch in 2004, which led to the establishment of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). The objective of the study was to assess the impact of NEITI on natural resource revenue governance in the Nigerian oil and gas sector. Survey design was employed as the research methodology. Data analysis was done by use of descriptive analysis. The data analyzed revealed that NEITI has enhanced natural resource revenue transparency but has not enhanced natural resource revenue accountability in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.

This book deals with computer simulation and experimental assessment of a variety of passive single-layer FSS/FSR structures, that act as band stop or bandpass filters respectively, to gain extensive applications in wireless communications and radar systems. The experience and understanding gained during this work were subsequently used to produce FSS responses of extreme angular stability. Theoretical verification of the measured results has been achieved, and the measured and predicted results are agreed very closely.

Weed plant detection and segmentation is a new research problem in the field of agriculture. In this paper we present a weed segmentation module. Weed classification module needs image processing task to be performed in order to detect the existence neural network to process the image and various classifiers such as random forest, Decision tree, SVM are used to classify the image the segmentation module makes use of U-Net architecture and Dense CRF is used for post processing in order to make boundaries of object more clear. The performance of the classifiers are measured using standard evaluation metrics.

The prevalence of Diabetes is increasing drastically and researchers are working to find a safe herbal alternative without any side effects to manage diabetes. The present work is also planned to test the efficacy of Pterocarpus santalinus against diabetes. This plant is used by tribals of India for treating specific diseases. In this study, the leaves were extracted in different solvents and the effects were seen in rats induced with diabetes by streptozotocin. The results showed a significant effect on managing diabetes with the plant extract.

The main purpose of this book is to explore and illustrate the application and impact of artificial intelligence in the field of content generation. RFID based Parent SMS Alert and Attendance System is a web based application that will be developed to overcome this problem. With the RFID kit.The systems also have integrated with the RFID Database Handling System for a fully functional system. The information from RFID Database handling System will be used for attendance and for SMS Alert also.Main idea of the approach is to reduce manual work and to automate the attendance system the attendance system is an embedded one. Embedded stands for hardware controlled by software. Here, the software using a Microcontroller controls all the hardware components. The microcontroller plays an important role in the system. The main objective of the system is to uniquely identify and to make attendance for a person. This requires a unique product, which has the capability of distinguishing different people. This is possible by the new emerging technology RFID (Radio Frequency Identification).

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an extremely prevalent malignancy that is the fourth world ¿wide. It is an important contributor to the mortality of those with chronic liver diseases in both ¿developing and developed countries. Early detection of cancer offers the best chance for cure; this is ¿why screening for HCC is recommended on regular basis. Screening may involve blood tests to ¿detect the level of tumor markers in serum and radiological tests including CT, MRI and ultrasound ¿imaging. In the current work, the detection possibility of the structural changes in serum proteins ¿accompanying cirrhosis and HCC is investigated using Low-Angle X-ray Scattering (LAXS) ¿technique. Also, the serum levels of some biochemical factors which are probably related to ¿cirrhosis and HCC are measured. The LAXS results showed that there are significant differences in ¿the LAXS profiles of cirrhosis and HCC lyophilized serum samples compared to normal. The ¿changes in shape, total counts and position of the first scattering peak at 4.8 degrees, which was previously ¿reported to be sensitive to the structural changes in protein, showed the most characteristic deviations ¿from normal serum.¿

All the formulations were prepared by direct compression method. The prepared tablets of all the formulations were evaluated for physical characters, assay, in¿vitro drug release, swelling index, hardness and friability. The main aim was to optimize the formulation for 1-12 hours in¿vitro release. Optimized formulation F9 containing chitosan and xanthan gum in 1:1 ratio shows better drug release up to 12hours was consider as the best product with respect to in-vitro drug release for 12 hours release action and improved site¿specific action. The results showed that the drug release rate was decreased as the viscosity of the polymer was increased. The drug release kinetics was performed for the optimized formulation and it shows zero order with super case II transport drug release.

According to NCPD (2017), Mombasa County has a worrying transition rate of 34% for students from primary school to secondary school. In-spite of free primary education and efforts to mitigate challenges such as children not attending primary schools due to high cost of uniforms, indirect costs, poverty, insecurity, cultural factors, early pregnancies, long distances to schools, lack of food and water at home, the enrolment, completion and transition rates are still much below the expectation. It is on this basis that the County Government, under the leadership of Hon. Hassan Ali Joho, wants to unleash the deep root cause of the problem through a joint research. The findings of the study will provide policy makers with insights on critical factors in policies formulation.
