The Secrets of Christianity is a short, to-the-point elucidation of what Christianity has ignored over the last two millennia. This takes all of twenty-five pages and includes subjects such as our relationship with Creation. It is followed up by "To the Christians", an epistle for the last days of Christianity. Then an exegesis of Hebrews and an exegesis of James, looking at what the writers actually said. The last section is an exploration of Paul's Mystery, linking it to Jesus' words, John's Revelation, and our actions. This book is designed to provide the reader with the requisite tools for determining what is relevant in the doctrine handed down by the church, what to do about it, and how to anticipate what is coming next. The Secrets of Christianity is a 'farewell' to the last two millennia, and a 'welcome' to those who will soon be stepping into the position of companions of the Christ.

Genesis Unfolded is a new and unique translation of Genesis using the actual Hebrew morphology rather than simply appealing to lexicons and previous translations. With over one thousand footnotes as well as the meaning of every single person or place's name, it is based on the idea that every letter in Hebrew has a unique meaning. When this fact is explored, the rich and subtle depths woven into the text unfold; the veil of the unknown is lifted by thorough research into the letters themselves and the hints embedded within their arrangements. Furthermore, the poetic forms of the unique Hebrew syntax are preserved rather than anglicised. Genesis Unfolded thus becomes an ideal primer for the Student of Hebrew who wishes to encounter, in English, the intricate poetic devices that Hebrew employs; not devices controlled by an outside set of grammatical rules, but what proceeds from the language and form of the text itself. Genesis Unfolded presents the Scripture in its full archetypal depth and raw beauty.

"e;Humility is confidence."e; So begins one of 33 subjects, each handled with the refreshing simplicity and depth of a genre tragically sparse since John began his epistle so long ago. "e;That which was from the beginning..."e; has tantalized theologians and philosophers for 2000+ years. No author can hold a candle to John but we can, however, learn the lesson that John gave us and dive unflinchingly into the issues that affect every single one of us with plain explanations instead of theological platitudes. Humans are sensitive and vulnerable: we require simple truth expressed in a straightforward, uncomplicated, and uncompromising manner. "e;A believer is someone who believes God."e; "e;Forgiving is giving of ourselves."e; Each subject is given four paragraphs headed by the same theme sentence. Each paragraph states its point plainly then shuts up. The 33 subjects cover issues ranging from peace and faith to time and space. Neither more words nor less than required have been given to each subject. Here is an introduction to clarity of thinking without the baggage of philosophy, theology, or filibuster. Deeper issues are left deep. Simple issues are stated simply. Ice Cream Melts is a work for those who enjoy straight truth with simplicity and sincerity.

  • - Claims of Jesus in the Gospel of John
    von Harvey Vedder
    27,00 €

Jesus' every communication from the God who sent him is rebuffed by being too incredible to believe or even hold in the mind's eye for more than a couple seconds. This makes his words and sentences claims. Why? Simply because we don't have the ability to believe them! Think about this. The simple statement that God had sent him here as light bounces off like gibberish. Too ethereal. Too wild. Hearers simply toss it out and walk away...but with that little nagging consciousness that if God really sent a man this is exactly what he would be like. Among the common people as well as the leadership, he simply could not be dismissed. The fact that they were spoken, have stood for 2000 years, and continue to get identical response from each successive generation, demonstrates their universal applicability over two millenia. No better, or more individual-touching criteria could be devised whereby to gauge humankind's response. I say this to anticipate the question how can one man's words to a few folks in a small mid-eastern country twenty centuries ago serve to put the entire race of men on trial? I'll turn that around: How would you do it if you were God, mankind's maker?

Panin's Bible Chronology is a classic work of scholarship on Biblical chronology. Ivan Panin's Bible Chronology Restored is a word-for-word transcription of the 1939 edition of his 1923 printing. The formatting is duplicated as well as the exact (often archaic) spelling and expressions. Unlike the 1950 'revision', this is faithful to his original work with only the typographical errors corrected.Panin begins with nine Canons by which to approach chronology, providing an approach to the subject which is designed to eliminate useless debate. His second section is a "List" of every given date in the Bible that is relevant. This reference guide, the core of years of research, is valuable to both his and anyone else's research. The third section is a guided tour through the numerics woven throughout the Chronology. While he could write volumes on the subject, he limits himself to clear examples that have specific impact. The length of this book is deceptively short for the subject matter. However, the reader will find it concentrated and distilled, demanding one's full attention. The facts are detailed and internally consistent, the "Canons" are salient and would hold up in any court, and the numerics have their own distict appeal. An appendix has been added that shows side-by-side his dates and those of Bishop Ussher, as well as some of Edwin Thiele's conclusions in the section of the Kings. Those familiar with the classic problems of chronology that are revisited by each generation of scholars will appreciate the depth and range of Panin's often unique approach.

Panin is considered by many to be the father of biblical numerics and his work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether one agrees with his numeric methodology or not, one of the most accurate New Testament critical texts available. This is both a historic treasure and a unique practical reference. The Numeric Greek New Testament was first ';Printed Privately for the Editor' in 1934, titled The New Testament in the Original Greek. Ivan Panin personally traveled to the Oxford University Press and set the typesetting by hand. It includes an Introduction in 37 sections that gives the reader a glimpse into the intricate world of Numerics. In the companion to this text, Panin's Greek and English Parallel New Testament, which has both this Greek critical text and Panin's English translation side-by-side, the formatting is matched to that of his 1914 English translation and its 1936 revision. In this edition the formatting follows his 1934 Greek text, which is a bit more condensed; see Panin's explanation in 26 of the Introduction. Also, his corrigneda (corrections) listed in the 1966 printing have been implemented in this edition, and the Greek letter accentuations are somewhat more abbreviated in this edition than Panin's. The books are placed in the order found in standard Bibles rather than Panin's order, which is listed below. Other than these slight changes, this edition remains as faithful as possible to Ivan Panin's masterpiece, including the many formatting quirks and archaic forms, to accurately preserve both the spirit and form of Panin's work.

The New Darby Version combines one of the best translations made in the English language (1884) with the ease of modern speaking. The distinctions made between using you (plural) and thou (singular) are still there; the pronouns are marked for you. In fact, nothing has been changed except vocabulary words; the New Darby Version is as precisely like his original as possible. It is available for reproduction in large parts as only the copyright for the publication of the whole is retained. John Nelson Darbys translation combines a breathtakingly accurate rendition combined with easy readability and beauty; it is a copy that you will find yourself reaching for again and again. Suitable for study, leisure reading, or public forums, this edition is neither a scan nor a copy; it is a word-for-word transcription and the result of years of work. The purist who loves JNDs archaic version can flip to the Appendix and find a list of every single word that has been changed. The only thing this edition lacks (stay tuned though) is Darbys footnotes; however it does have the most complete collection of his Bible introductions ever published in English. To present as comfortable a read as possible in one volume, the Old Testament is in nicely sized 9-point, and the New Testament has a generous 10-point type. Darbys translated directly from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek without depending on a critical text (a particular work presenting the best possible combination of variant readings) in a day when this demanded actually going and visiting each manuscript where it was being held. His Greek prowess was legendary, and there are many passages in the New Testament where the sense given in his translation is still head and shoulders above the rest . . . after 130 years. Reluctant to displace the King James Version in his day, he held back from publishing the Bible in English until near the end of his life; his German and French translations are landmarks. This translation comes very highly recommended by those who read as a daily habit and require a translation that both conveys the beauty of scripture and the precision of meaning.

The Present Edition is a reprint of Ivan Panins classic translation of the New Testament from a Greek critical text established by himself through his lifes work in what he called Numerics. This edition is neither a scan nor a copy; it is a word-for-word and letter-for-letter transcription of Panin's English translation. As a remarkable attestation to the thoroughness of the original, a mere 21 typographical errors were found (two of which were retained for posterity), none of which affected the Text. This edition is taken from the 4th printing (1954 printed in Great Britain, Book Society of Canada), and includes both the Preface and the Preface to the Second Edition found in that copy.Panin's work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether you agree with his numeric methodology or not, on of the most accurate and readable New Testament translations available. The Preface gives a multitude of examples of the process used, and his Notes in the back delve into several subjects which serve as examples of the value of this phenomena. As both a historic treasure and an unique reference, the Numeric English New Testament has earned its place on every reader's bookshelf.

The Present Edition is Ivan Panins classic translation of the New Testament from a Greek critical text established by himself through his lifes work in what he called Numerics. This edition puts his work into contemporary language, i.e., ';you say' rather than ';thou sayest'. This edition is taken from the 4th printing (1954 printed in Great Britain, Book Society of Canada) of his 1935 revision of his 1914 English translation, and includes both the Preface and the Preface to the Second Edition found in that copy. No changes or alterations other than the modernizing of archaic English and the setting of the book in the commonly used order has been done. Panin is considered by many to be the father of biblical numerics and his work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether one agrees with his numeric methodology or not, one of the most accurate and readable New Testament translations available. The Preface gives a multitude of examples of the process used, and his Notes in the back delve into several subjects which serve as examples of the value of this phenomena. As both a historic treasure and an unique reference, the Numeric English New Testament has earned its place on every reader's bookshelf.
