I wrote this book because my journey of becoming a registered nurse was just that--a journey. As a single parent, I feel other women and men in my position need to understand that sometimes in life, you must fight for what you want. For those who desire to become something more than who they are, please understand that not everyone's journey to obtaining a college degree is traditional. If you are persistent and dedicated to your dream, you can achieve it. For some of us, there is no easy way; for some of us, there is no one to pave the way down our path, but you can do it! In the notes section, I make notes on how many payments I have to pay off my debts for loans and so forth. I can also set financial goals and divide the builds between my wife and me. This financial planner can be adjusted as needed.My wife and I have used this system to gain control of our finances. It has brought us from having to get loans from anyone whom we could to stay afloat to having money at the end of each month. Considering that we both live on a fixed income, this says a lot.Should we have to answer questions about our finances? Instead of struggling for them. We have them at our fingertips. Adjustments are not a nightmare anymore.

Their love helped them to survive and go through ordeals in the terrible days of December 1240.

Why Grits?I was in North Carolina having breakfast that morning. A British family of five sat at a table right across from me. The father ordered grits, eggs and bacon for everyone seated at their table. A little boy about 7 or 8 years old yelled out, "I don't want that!". The family immediately demanded that he chill out! The father looked at the young boy and said, "We all discussed this when we were in the car coming here. We all saw that show on T.V. talking about grits. We made a pact that if we ever went to the southern part of the U.S. that we were going to try it." He then looked at me and asked, "What would you say?", and not lost for words I replied "Go with the flow yo!".Scared you're gonna like it?

Momma's Three-Ring Circus is about the trials and tribulations through the eyes of Emily detailing the life and havoc of her daily adventuresome and oftentimes creative mind. As her momma always said, "e;There is never a dull moment in this household of six rambunctious and very imaginative minds of my kids."e; Thus, Momma's three-ring circus.Thinking about today's busy world--with kids growing up with all these electronic devices--just makes the childhood that Emily had in the sixties seem that much more enticing, where the elders were always courteously addressed Mr. or Mrs.; all the parents in the neighborhood, including our schoolteacher, disciplined all of us kids; but most of all, iPads and social networking to us kids was anywhere our imaginations took us as we romped and played outdoors, usually all day long and until the streetlights came on.

This narrative is about my years aboard Tabor Academy's schooner Tabor Boy and the sequence of life events that led to that career. While many sail-training captains and crew tend to be transient, I stayed with Tabor and Tabor Boy for thirty-five years.
