The Gift of Wisdom is based on true events about my life. The character names differ from actual family members & friends. It'll make you laugh and cry but, most of all it'll help other lost souls find themselves. My grandmother always said the same thing that'll make you laugh will make you cry. Mental illness has plagued many generations. Sadly enough, there are too many communities that are afraid to speak of, let alone acknowledge that there is even an issue. Well, I have decided to join the few conversations of those who dare to be a voice for loved ones and of those who are lost, to share how I too have suffered, but by God's grace, have overcome. I am No Longer A Victim!

Almost 15 years ago my life changed forever. I entered into a relationship that went against all I had been taught and believed. The struggles, convictions (and most of the time) condemnations left me crippled in every way: mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.After much prayer and reaffirming myself, I was able to accept God's divine love again just as I did when I was a child. I was reintroduced to Him during the most crucial time in my life and got to know who He really is. I gained strength, resilience, and the true experience of God's love for me in spite of my shortcomings. Not only was I able to receive love, but I learned how to give it.I'm unapologetically ME despite all that I have been through. This gave me permission to recognize the gifts, talents, qualities, and greatness that lay dormant during that season of doubt. I hope my story gives you the courage and strength to be FREE in who you are because being bound just won't do. Wherever you are in your life may the peace of God be there with you. Above all things never forget that He loves you and has a great plan for your life through your story. As individuals, it's our duty to take responsibility and acknowledge the course that has ended and most importantly trust the space that we are in.These letters are journeys that we have shared. With its ambitious team of engineers and innovators and its groundbreaking concepts and designs which pushed the limits of what was possible for jackups in the '70s, this up-and-coming Houston-based startup went head-to-head with the Big Four established designer-builders of its time. Despite modest beginnings and only seven years in operation before its controversy-ridden collapse, ETA carved a prolific legacy into the industry with its design of its Europe Class jackups and the introduction of cast steel joints and pioneering leg chord design. Even long after ETA's downfall, the longevity of its designs and the borrowing of its concepts by other companies prove the depth of its impact. Simultaneously personal, technical, and critical, Lovie reveals the inner workings of his company-from original, never-before-seen design drafts to its challenges, successes, contributions, and modern parallels.The author is a 2018 inductee as an Industry Pioneer in the Hall of Fame established by the Oilfield Energy Center with a citation that reads: Lovie immigrated from Scotland at age 29 and started Engineering Technology Analysts, Inc. (ETA) in 1970. Four years later he secured a contract to design the two world's largest jackups with 508 ft. long legs for the North Sea: one remains working in 2018. Lovie challenged the established jackup designers of the day with his patented leg design which featured lighter & stronger legs with cast steel joints. Twenty-one other ETA designed jackups were delivered 1976-1982 with thirteen in service today. Other established builders utilized ETA's leg chord design to produce twenty-eight jackups.
