This book offers original methodological alternatives in the field of educational research to novice and experienced researchers. Regardless of the period and interests of the researchers, it describes procedures in favour of adopting methodological positions adapted to quantitative and qualitative approaches, emphasising the personal and professional aspects that researchers or thesis students require during the choice, writing, organisation and definition of the research variable(s), their operationalisation, formulation of objectives and/or purposes, the approach, methods, techniques and instruments of data collection and the procedures for data analysis up to the presentation of results in educational research. We will try to avoid three eventualities: 1 - that a composite or predicative variable is separated into two variables for systematisation. 2 - to avoid the common split between the triangulation of theoretical categories and interpretative assessment. 3 - to overcome with dynamic balance the conditions faced by the researcher when interacting between comfort and risk factors.

The effectiveness of the vaccination programme can be measured through vaccination coverage and this has been estimated using data recorded by health structures, combined with population estimates from the National Statistics Institute of Cape Verde (INE-CV). This data is consolidated at health centre level, giving rise to statistics for evaluating service coverage. This research arose due to concerns that the coverage for each vaccine did not correspond to the parameters established by the Extended Vaccination Programme, giving rise to this study which aims to analyse vaccination coverage in a time trend, 2006 - 2010, and to compare the results of administrative data and those obtained from vaccination coverage surveys carried out in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2009 and 2011, on the island of Santiago - Cape Verde.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the empirical evidence on ACT in the psychological treatment of cancer patients. Eight articles have been selected for the review, of which we were interested in those of experimental or quasi-experimental type in adult patients diagnosed with cancer and their relatives. The results, although heterogeneous, suggest medium- to long-term improvements after ACT intervention in the symptomatology of anxiety, depression, acceptance, quality of life, stress and psychological flexibility. In addition, ACT has been found to be more effective compared to other psychological therapies. Thus, despite the limitations found in this study, promising results have been obtained for future reviews and/or meta-analyses.

"Information as a Company's Strategic Asset" is a book that explores the fundamental role played by information in technology-based companies (TBCs). Through an exhaustive literature review, it analyzes how information becomes a key resource to improve the competitiveness of these organizations in a dynamic and constantly evolving business environment.The book addresses various aspects, from the definition and characteristics of EBTs to the efficient management of information and its benefits. Case studies are explored that highlight how TBEs use information to make strategic decisions and adapt to changing market demands. In addition, it delves into the impact of information on business competitiveness and the importance of protecting confidential data.Throughout its pages, the book highlights how consumer information enables TBEs to evaluate performance, identify weaknesses, optimize processes and adjust strategies. It also discusses the background and state of the art regarding the importance of information in these companies, as well as the ethical aspects and the research methodology used.

The reader will be interested in the participatory structural axonometry that the civil sectors develop in response to the logic of verisimilitude that the media construct to legitimise local governments in terms of the management of public services consisting of tariff increases. In a scenario of shortages, shortages, insalubrity and scarcity, the reader will notice the prevalence of dissipative policies of social movements.

The fundamental objective of this paper, in the light of the literature, is to present the role played by internal audit, and more specifically the audit committee, on the financial performance of companies. It consists in examining the impact that internal audit might have on the financial performance of Cameroonian companies through the components of the audit committee. This exhaustive review of the literature has enabled us to better clarify the main concepts, and the various theories underlying them (agency theory, transaction cost theory, signal theory) in order to clearly apprehend this impact. To this end, our study involved 68 out of 267 auditors. The probabilistic sampling method was adopted for reasons of accessibility to the auditors. We adopted a positivist epistemological stance with a hypothetico-deductive approach based on a quantitative study.

This book contains two models of approved projects whose research has already been finalised and patented. Regardless of which funding institution you choose to submit your project to, it must be well-written and contain some basic sections. This work has therefore been designed as a tool to help the researcher, with examples of texts to be written on the parts of a research project.

The animal is a living being identical to any human being, who also enjoys emotions such as happiness and pain, and deserves equal respect. In a world that claims to be civilized, where there must be an imperative concern for others, this must be extended to sentient non-human beings, as a result of the permanent evolution of the Principle of the Dignity of the Human Person. In view of the hierarchical importance of the Fundamental Law in a State of Democratic Law and the obligatory jusfundamental safeguarding of the rights enshrined herein, this bibliography presents an in-depth scientific investigation that seeks to demonstrate the need for express constitutional protection for animals, with the aim of full compliance with the principle mentioned, in particular, in the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic. This normative analysis should obviously also be transposed to the supreme laws of other states with a similar scope.

The study followed the reproductive cycle of the birds in the only fragment of the Cerrado biome located in southern Brazil. The area is protected through the creation of a state park, which has prevented its total conversion into arable land. The Cerrado has several variations in vegetation structure, ranging from open steppes with the presence of shrubs to dense, medium-sized vegetation, directly reflecting the composition of the fauna and flora. The vegetation type chosen for the study was the most representative portion of the park, the Campo Cerrado Alterado, and its avifauna and phytophysiognomy were studied in depth, correlating bird reproduction and vegetation structure. This final thesis made it possible to establish relationships that have not yet been contemplated in the country, combining knowledge from different areas and providing important tools for the conservation of the site and the species that live there.

The aim of this book is to investigate life in prison from the perspective of ex-prisoners and its implications for human and social development. Specifically, the aim is to understand pre-prison lifestyles, to verify how prison life is lived in terms of the curtailment of human rights and possible impacts on prisoners' subjectivity, to understand how the post-prison social reintegration process takes place and to reflect on the prison institution and development. Using a qualitative approach, the subject was divided into data collected along three thematic axes: before, during and after imprisonment.

This paper proposes an assessment of the cultural heritage of the recent history of Aconquija National Park, linked to the Uturuncos guerrilla group that emerged in 1960 in the southern part of the Yungas of Tucuman, in the province of the same name in Argentina. The history of this guerrilla group, the first to emerge in our country, is analysed through interviews with the neighbours (five women and two men) of Piedra Grande and the territory that today forms part of the Aconquija National Park, Portal Campo de Los Alisos. By recovering their memories, the aim is to question the history present in the local collective unconscious and thus favour the empowerment of this "marginal" part of history. How can memories help to construct history? As Juana Flores (one of the interviewees) says: "...they have not been easy stories, they have left many scars and maybe there are people who do not want to relive them...". However, the purpose of investigating memory makes it possible to reactivate events of the past in order to keep a subaltern memory alive.

This research seeks to explore the representations and experiences of a group of teachers, trying to understand their references to meaning and identity in different contexts marked by globalisation. Believing that the construction of professional identity is strongly conditioned by the specificity of the contexts in which we operate, we focussed our study on the identity processes of a group of public school teachers from a secondary school in the north of the country. Nine teachers took part in this research, from different age groups and different curricular areas who, at a certain point in their lives, decided to embark on the "path of teaching", building their professional journeys and identities there.

The importance of teaching programming can now be compared to teaching other languages, such as English and Spanish. The many benefits that learning the programming language can bring to children have also been proven. In this book, we will analyze the contributions to thinking: what benefits can we gain from teaching programming logic? The reality is that our world is becoming increasingly computerized and the presence of technologies that use the programming language and with applications and devices everywhere, it is important to know how to speak the language of computing so as not to get lost.

The book EPIDEMIOLOGY AND SURVEILLANCE: health protection and prevention, in its first edition, shows the need for greater knowledge about epidemiology and enriches the academic sphere. It covers environmental and health issues, among others. The book was produced with the contribution of qualified collaborators who dedicated themselves to this work. It is therefore hoped that the book will contribute to knowledge and improvement in the field of epidemiology.

Faced with the current market scenario and increasingly fierce competition, it is essential for companies to know their economic and financial health. To do this, their goals must be aligned with reducing waste, increasing productivity and profitability, and consequently improving the conditions of the company as a whole. Thus, with Brazil's high tax burden, it is necessary to apply tax planning, which must be developed by a qualified professional. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge and application of tax planning by accounting professionals. To test the hypotheses, a questionnaire was administered to a sample of 25% of the population of accountants working in the footwear industry in the city of Nova Serrana - MG, where the content addressed for study dealt with issues related to Tax Planning. The results show that, despite knowing many of the tools needed to develop and apply efficient tax planning, these professionals choose to use only the basic tools, failing to apply more complex ones.

Despite being a practice that has been around for many years, the subject of several studies and various attempts to ban it, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), like all social phenomena, is constantly changing. This is why I am interested in this topic. The idea is not to once again expose the problems associated specifically with this phenomenon, but rather to focus on the various practices that make up all types of genital modification. It's not just about what has come to be known as FGM, but also about other practices that in "Western" eyes, unlike the former, are legal and socially acceptable, i.e. the so-called Female Genital Aesthetic Surgeries (FGAS). My aim here is to understand how these two acts, whose sole purpose is non-therapeutic genital modification, are viewed.

Greek culture is an essential exponent of the West, like few cultures in the world, the Greeks have left a mark that has reached our days, from models of government, philosophy, the performing arts, architecture and science. No less important is Greek Mythology, of which numerous written works were developed, its representatives such as Homer, Thucydides, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and others, still remain in our memory and in the reality of our days. This book deals with the importance of the Greek contributions by showing the complex ways in which they managed to overcome civilisational challenges through the evolution of their thoughts, organisation and politics. From the classical Greek period, the Italian Renaissance takes its example, from which the artistic and scientific splendour that overcame the Middle Ages was produced and from which the modern world was born and which, after a few centuries of development, has reached the present day.

This study aims to find out which cultivars are most productive in Jatai in the state of Goiás. With this information, we can advise farmers on which cultivars are best suited to this region, so that they can make the most of the way they produce. As the study shows, all the cultivars are suited to being grown in the Jatai region, given the soil and climate conditions in Jatai.

The ascendancy of today's globalized world is subjecting companies to ever stiffer competition, making their very existence dependent on their resilience in the face of competitiveness. This means that competitors in both the private and public sectors are faced with new demands in terms of organizational strategies, and must now think about how to evolve their management tools. Aware that performance measurement is an essential element in the decision-making process at Cameroon Télécommunications, we set out to conceptualize a cost accounting model based on the ABC method,To achieve this, we first identified the weaknesses of existing tools, and then sketched out an operating model of the ABC method as applied to Camtel.

With a view to protecting the lives and health of its citizens, Belgium has adopted measures whose effects have not been felt equally by the entire population. Vulnerable people have been disproportionately affected by these measures. One of the reasons for this is the absence of a legal approach that integrates the need to take vulnerable people into account in the decision-making process. By way of illustration, covid criminal law has bitten homeless people more than citizens with a fixed abode. It is for this reason that this study sets out to demonstrate the limits of an approach based solely on the need to protect life and health, and on respect for the principles of legality and proportionality. This study demonstrates that a human rights-based approach to crisis situations should also include consideration of the vulnerable as an indestructible pillar.

The growing influence of technology on education is becoming more and more intense at different levels of society in general around the world. In this sense the present research work studies the application of Google Apps, Classroom and Drive tools in collaborative learning. The research studies the importance of the use of Google Apps tools, in this case Google Classroom and Drive, which are fundamental resources used at all levels of education, so that students can successfully cope with the intellectual demands of their academic life. In terms of the students' learning, collaborative learning was taken into account; this learning is fundamental in the area of education for work, because it allows for the development of group learning, as the students can exercise what they have learnt in the area.

This manual addresses different notions from different perspectives in order to promote the prevention of falls in problematic drug use.It has twelve well defined and marked chapters so that it is not only an academic book but also a support book for people with consumption problems and/or family members who support the person in rehabilitation treatment.Although the essays and appreciations are diverse, I rely more on psychoanalysis as a subject of writing.

Drug use among university students is common, as attested by international and national research. The university aims to educate students both professionally and socially, so that once they graduate they can serve the purposes of their training. In the case of medical students, this entails a greater commitment, as they will be in charge of looking after the health of the population, not only in alleviating or curing illnesses, but fundamentally in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing the main conditions affecting the population, in particular chronic non-communicable diseases, whose risk factors include unhealthy lifestyles due to the use of legal and illegal drugs, poor eating habits and sedentary lifestyles.

Currently, part of the pollution in water bodies is caused by waste oils from accidents and spillages as well as inadequate domestic and industrial disposal, which makes the water treatment system for public supply more expensive, in addition to the various environmental harms such as the death of aquatic and coastal fauna and flora. At the same time, the use of medium density fibreboard (MDF) has increased by around 18% a year and consequently the amount of waste from its machining. Due to the lack of literature on this subject, it was necessary to develop a methodology to assess the potential of using MDF powder as a bioremediation agent for oil-in-water accidents.

Education in HIV/AIDS risk perception in medical students contains a range of ideas that underpin the need to maintain research on this subject, with a strong emphasis on future doctors, contributing to the efficiency of their academic training, self-preparation and the provision of medical services.Among the topics addressed are: theoretical foundations on HIV/AIDS and risk perception, health promotion and education as tools for risk prevention, and health education programmes from the perspective of Popular Education.

The aim of this book is to analyze the point of view of Japanese authors and producers on LGBTQ issues through Japanese anime. Adopting the process of discourse analysis to try to highlight the way in which the theme is used in the speeches and behavior of the characters, in a generally subtle way and with a wealth of detail, typical of Japanese audiovisual works, and using Sonya Luyten's studies as a reference. The material provides a brief historical overview and structural analysis of Western society and its relationship with sexuality and gender identity, using Queer Theory studies and references in the field such as Michel Foucault, Leadro Colling and Richard Miskolci. Above all, we sought to analyze how society deals with LGBTQ issues and how the reception of anime material is viewed by Western society, especially in relation to its distribution to the children's market.

The phenomenon of communication is taking hold in the modern world, albeit with a certain amount of skepticism as to the ability of communications professionals to provide concrete answers to the problems posed by companies and institutions. Drawing on sometimes distant fields such as sociology and mathematics, communication has, over time, acquired methodological resources and powerful tools, the mastery of which has made it a veritable profession with a wide range of ramifications, of equal interest to the worlds of business, politics and institutions.

The work is dedicated to the development of a software and hardware complex to speed up the process of text classification. Within the framework of the work, the basic concepts of the subject area are reviewed. Carrying out detailed descriptions of methods and algorithms of various types that are used in the classification of texts, their advantages and shortcomings are revealed. Based on the analysis conducted, a refined mathematical model is presented using filtering space for category symbols. Within the framework of this work, methods for reducing the cost of hours spent on classifying texts from both software and hardware solutions are presented. Software features include modernized algorithms for advanced text processing and filtering of subject areas. The hardware is based on the use of FPGA power to implement parallel data processing. The peculiarities and results of their vicorization are induced in the robot. Based on the obtained results, a software and hardware complex was developed and research was completed. The results showed that in order to reduce hours spent on classifying texts, it is possible to analyze both the entire complex as a whole, and whether the solutions are presented in the work in a complete combination.

Few Spanish authors of this century have been recognised essentially for one work. At first glance, only Javier Cercas with Soldados de Salamina (2001) and Fernando Aramburu with Patria (2016) have achieved this. Both deal with the theme of memory - or, at least, the past -, which implies a continuation of tastes on the part of the reading public in the two decades so far this century. My purpose in this essay is to elucidate a facet of Cercas's narrative, that of the inheritance he receives from classical literature, which today's narrators are not as willing as he is to cultivate (despite the depth it can instil in any literary work), nor to recognise or analyse by our critics and scholars. We are referring to the use of Greco-Latin mythology, of Classical Antiquity, in a couple of works: Soldiers of Salamis and The Shadow Monarch. The need to resort to this type of sources is due to a series of factors that will be discussed throughout the essay.

In the art world, graffiti is discriminated against by the graffiti artists themselves or by a wide range of them, since many don't consider it graffiti the moment it goes to the gallery because it loses its essence. Graffiti is the expression of an oppressed people, it's the way they found to put out what they were feeling and to show what they wanted to express in different ways, but couldn't. It's a way of expressing what they were feeling.
