This book aims to revive regional memory and culture by listing traditional recipes from Minas Gerais families, so that they don't get lost over time and become a legacy for the future. As such, it provides an overview of the origins of local cuisine and the influences that ethnic groups have had on food customs in Minas Gerais, especially in the city of Passos and the surrounding region. It then identifies local ingredients and typical recipes, and notes that some food habits have fallen into disuse, but others still persist in the daily lives of traditional families.

Ergonomics has taken on an increasingly prominent role in the design of work environments, characterising everything from man's relationship with the various techniques to the need for quality, productivity and cost reduction inherent in production. In general terms, an ergonomic analysis is used to analyse the working conditions of a given task in order to provide comfort and safety for workers. So this monograph aims to ergonomically analyse the working conditions and safety of the production environment at Cerâmica Tramontin, based on Regulatory Standard No. 17 - Occupational Safety, Health and Medicine, which aims to establish parameters that allow for adaptations and working conditions, conditioning the psycho-physiological characteristics of workers in order to meet their needs for work performance. As a result of this study, it is hoped that the environments of the pottery and ceramics industries in Amapá will have appropriate conditions for the development of their activity, increasing productivity as well as the quality of life of workers.

Biological weed control using the 'natural herbicide' potential of certain allelopathic species is an alternative to conventional methods. The aim of the present study was to investigate the allelopathy of a sorghum-fodder hybrid 'Super graze II', used as a cover crop in conservation agriculture, to control two weeds, broomrape and milk thistle. The germination and young plant bioassay technique was used to study sorghum allelopathy. The components of the sorghum plant expressed an allelopathic/phyto-toxic effect. The stem showed the most inhibitory effect for both weeds. Root exudates from soil cultivated with sorghum showed an inhibitory allelopathic effect. The types of sorghum residue management expressed a differential allelopathic effect. No-tillage systems showed a relatively higher phytotoxicity than incorporated residues. The results showed a potential natural herbicide in sorghum that could be used as a means of biological control.

Floods and inundations are among the main types of natural disasters, often marked by intense rainfall of both short and long duration. Floods occur in many regions of the Earth and are intensified by environmental changes and anthropogenic interventions near rivers. In 2008 and 2009, the municipality of Mossoró-RN experienced above-normal rainfall, drastically increasing the volume of water in the river that cuts through the city, the Apodi-Mossoró. With this in mind, the aim of this study was to carry out an assessment of the socio-environmental damage that occurred in the city of Mossoró, especially in the community of the Ilha de Santa Luzia neighborhood, based on the Damage Assessment Report (AVANDAN) drawn up by the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination (CONDEC), as well as the perception of the people affected by the floods, since the neighborhood is located in a special riverside zone, and an area suitable for permanent preservation and restricted use, subject to flooding. The scenario is aggravated by the lack of continuous preventive actions and only assistance actions during events.

The period of transition from the aquatic to the terrestrial environment involved the development of a greater degree of activity, and the regions of the reptile brain most affected by these changes were the telencephalon, thalamus, mesencephalic roof and cerebellum. The aim was to identify and morphologically map, internally and externally, the regions of the encephalon in different reptile species and Podocnemis expansa embryos. Juvenile reptile species (P. expansa, Podocnemis unifilis, Phrynops geoffroanus, Melanosuchus niger, Bothrops jararaca and Salvator merianae) and P. expansa eggs incubated artificially until stage 25 were used, after which the brain was euthanised and removed. For macroscopic analysis, the brains were fixed in formaldehyde, and for microscopic analysis of the embryos, semi-serial cryosections were made and stained with eosin and counterstained with Nissl. It was concluded that in B. jararaca there is the presence of a fourth ventricle and a choroid plexus internal to the encephalon, a rudimentary cerebellum and the absence of the accessory nerve (XI), and the embryos have a prominent dorsal ventricular crest and tegmentum nuclei in the ventral region of the bulb.

With the belief that the traditional and hegemonic media contribute to the resurgence of social problems caused by globalization, spreading and defending neoliberal ideas and the discourse of the inevitability of the phenomenon, various forms of alternative press have emerged around the world, mainly in cyberspace, inspired by anti-globalization movements such as the World Social Forum. Among the various alternative media that have emerged on the web and share the values of social movements, some have followed the model of news agencies, at least in their nomenclature. This paper aims to understand the phenomenon of these media by analyzing the characteristics of Adital (Frei Tito Information Agency for Latin America), Agência Carta Maior and IPS (Inter Press Service). These agencies function as prophets of the weak, oppressed and excluded of the world. Prophets, not bearers of the divine message, but who impose a mission, in this case, to exhort, warn and denounce the social injustices and concentration of wealth of the globalized era.

Starting from the concept of identity, we reflect on the teaching identity and its articulation with the process of learning to be a teacher, embodied in the professional internship, the object of multiple perspectives, which are explored in their evolution throughout the professional experience of six former interns. The commitment to professional identity was rebuilt through actions, values and dispositions to learn, always in an attitude of reflection-action, to which the intervention of the cooperating teacher within the community of practice greatly contributed. The personal and professional development of the new teachers had a solid and consistent start, which proved to be proficient for the exercise of the profession in other contexts. During the internship, conditions must be met to provide trainees with emotional support (proximity or scaffolding measure) and to promote the achievement of growing autonomy (distancing or fading measure). Only in this way will trainees be able to properly prepare themselves for the difficulties and uncertainties of the profession, demonstrating the capacity for agency to intervene in the context and promote transformation.

The quality of education in Angola/Cabinda calls for quality research. The research carried out on the basis of monographs on learning difficulties and school failure by ISCED undergraduates in Cabinda schools calls for more careful and systematic attention to education and teaching, from primary to higher education, in this province. The novice researchers at this house of science have uncovered serious problems that deserve the attention of managers and designers of education policies in Angola, particularly in Cabinda: difficulties in writing and reading, mathematics and various other subjects. This means that ISCED has the triple responsibility of teaching, researching and publishing the results of this research in order to fulfill its noble mission. In this way, ISCED, as a teacher training institution, can help improve the quality of education and teaching in Cabinda. The results of the research carried out at ISCED, if published, will serve as a vehicle for raising the awareness of those who make decisions for the improvement and quality of education in Angola.

Feed is one of the most important factors in the economic exploitation of poultry and is the most costly. In this context, together with the growing development of the food industry and the consequent increase in products and co-products, researchers in the field of nutrition have been looking for ways to make it possible to partially or totally replace corn and soya in poultry rations without compromising their performance. This book therefore provides relevant information on the production performance of layers fed alternative diets made up of cashew nut bran.

The aim of this study is to analyze the perception of the teaching staff and students on the Business Administration courses at the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the RMBH - MG regarding teaching and learning in the training of the new generation of Sustainability Administrators. It will also present the perception of course coordinators, teaching strategies and the characterization of these HEIs as a set of categories that influence the teaching-learning relationship. The theoretical model used was based on research by Hart and Milstein (2004) and Sgarbi et al. (2008) defining 47 sustainable jargons present in studies related to Administration. Thirty-two HEIs with sustainability or sustainability-related subjects were selected for this analysis. It's worth checking out the results!

The collective organisation of farmers is a factor aimed at increasing productivity, reaching new markets and income, raising the self-esteem of associated producers and making economic organisation viable. In this study, the family farmers are part of an association that owns an agro-industry, with the aim of benefiting the production of their agroforestry systems, adding value and gaining access to institutional and local markets through the supply of frozen fruit pulp. This work analyses the aspects that make up the general context of the activities carried out by the Association, through a study of the influence of the açaí production chain on the generation of income for rural producers, including the influence of quality control in the processing of fruit pulps, as well as the importance of the degree of satisfaction of the associated producer as part of a collective organisation and concluding with a proposal for a management tool to optimise the processing of the agroindustry as a strategy for decision-making and improving competitiveness, contributing to the effective planning of the production of cupuaçu and açaí pulps.

The work carried out by staff/workers who provide services in laboratories is constantly exposed to various risks with different intensity and transmissibility characteristics arising from specific activities. And due to the great variability or multiplicity of activities, operational and organizational procedures existing in each sector of the laboratory environment, this weakens this class of professionals, who are often marginalized from the attentive eyes of public authorities. For these reasons, there was a need to study the physical, operational and organizational characteristics of the laboratory environment that provides services for the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of water and effluent samples, in order to subsequently draw up a technical-scientific and educational biosafety manual in conjunction with its technical staff, so as to address the technical and operational concerns and doubts of this class of professionals.

With life becoming increasingly urbanised, society is faced with diseases that used to be characterised as mainly rural, where mosquitoes and other animals are also migrating to urban areas. Dengue, as a re-emerging virus in Brazil, has returned with greater force, where new serotypes have been discovered and Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever has emerged. The aim of this study was to assess the approach to dengue with 5 teachers from 3 public schools in Districts IV, II and VI of Fortaleza, according to the low, medium and high incidence of the disease, respectively. Initially, the schools were visited. Subsequently, the contents of the textbooks used by the schools participating in the research were analysed, followed by the application of a questionnaire with open and structured questions to Science and Biology teachers from the same institutions.

There are many cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the state of Pará, and this situation has become a cause of great concern for those engaged in tackling this type of violence. Through data collected from one of the most widely circulated newspapers in the state of Pará - O Diário do Pará newspaper, in 2010 and 2014, we sought to find out about the incidence of sexual violence in the state, specifying the gender of the victims, their relationship with the abuser and the places where it occurs most frequently in the state of Pará. Through weekly visits to the Tancredo Neves Cultural Foundation of Pará (CENTUR), data was collected and then transformed into tables to be analysed. Our research confirmed the sad reality of these children and adolescents in our society, and there are already actions to tackle them, but there is still much to be done. On this basis, greater dissemination of information about government actions to prevent and combat abuse is indispensable and increasingly necessary, as is encouraging local communities to report cases.

In Brazil, high blood pressure (HBP) affects around 15 to 20% of the population over the age of 18. The aim of this study was to measure blood pressure (BP) and assess body mass index in young university students, as well as to provide information on preventative measures. 250 student volunteers were selected and an electronic blood pressure monitor was used to measure BP. Most of the participants were sedentary (52.8%) and 16% were overweight. The BP measurements showed that approximately 21% of the volunteers had borderline BP or grade 1 hypertension. Early detection and ongoing treatment are priority measures that should be adopted to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by hypertension.

The fundamental causes of poverty and wealth have always been of such knowledge that many men and women throughout the world die of envy. But groping around for lack of specifics, some in their thoughts or opinions believe that both are matters of heredity. While others say that they are the logical results of choices and habits applied over the long term. These are the arguments that the majority of human beings around the world put forward when it comes to poverty and wealth. In this book, we're going to reveal what each of the aforementioned categories does on a daily basis, so that anyone reading this can find their answer, and also discover the genuine causes that give rise to poverty and wealth. Because these two subjects are constantly the subject of debate and discussion around the world, the author, as a professional entrepreneur, decided to shed some light on them. For some, wealth is diabolical, which means that anyone who is rich is also satanic.

Why teach mathematics explicitly? This is the question we seek to answer in this book. In it, we present the results of an experiment we carried out in the third year of primary school in March 2017. The results were approved by a jury of specialists in the field. For this reason, we have included them here with the aim of promoting the teaching paradigm, which has been abandoned by the Congolese education system in favor of the learning paradigm. However, the results of the present study prove that explicit teaching based on the teaching paradigm is an effective method that enables the majority of pupils, even the most disadvantaged, to succeed. Studies have shown that methods based on socio-constructivist approaches are ineffective. If we want to improve the flagging Congolese education system, we need to return to a paradigm whose effectiveness is widely recognized by empirical research. It's a mistake to evolve with methods that don't enable students to learn effectively.

This book is the result of the need to share the results of a research project. I see it as a workshop (CORRÊA, 1998, 2000 & 2006) (PREVE, 1997) (PREVE, 2010) (CORRÊA & PREVE, 2011). The notes written in diaries, based on the experiences of education with the deaf, make up the territories to which I invite the reader to walk with me. These notes reveal the path travelled by a person interested in discovering the answers to their disturbing questions. The processes of learning Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), the process of learning LIBRAS with deaf children, the disappointments in the classroom, the encounter with the limitations of "teaching/learning", "the reinvention of the pleasure of learning and sharing knowledge with (or without) deaf people, the reflections with the supervisor of internships and workshops, the strangeness of the processes of subjectivation in the training of educators, the encounter with the question "how to present a concept in Science if there are no signs in LIBRAS? " and the practice of producing and sharing workshops (CORRÊA, 2000 & 2006) reveal some directions along the way.

The thesis that gave rise to this book sought to identify the specificities of the research participants' trajectories and advance the understanding of the process of professional insertion of young adults with at least a master's degree, in its multideterminations. The analysis, enhanced by the methodological choice of biographical interviews, sought to understand the phenomenon under investigation not in terms of cause and consequence, but rather to understand the specificities of the factors that characterise the different paths taken by these young people.

Are women really discriminated against in the Côte d'Ivoire labor market? Gender-based analysis in urban areas highlights this problem at a critical period in the country's history. To this end, a number of variables that may help to better identify discrimination against women among the unemployed and the employed population are determined using data from job surveys and job offers under the pre-discrimination and market discrimination options. First, the literature review indexes economic theories of human capital and labor market segmentation. Secondly, the indices and econometric models induced are differentiated according to the nature of the data used. Finally, the nature of the factors constraining women's integration into the labour market shows a predominance of labour market segmentation variables, based on pre-discrimination.

The present research addressed the deficiencies in the judicial response in cases of gender violence, To this end, it is defined as a theoretical study with a qualitative approach, since violence against women is understood as a violation of human rights and as a form of discrimination against women and will be understood as any act of gender violence. To this end, it is necessary to study the judicial criteria for determining the appropriate treatment that victims should receive, effective preventive protection by the State, as well as structural issues. in the justice system and the deficiencies, irregularities and omissions in the investigation, prosecution and punishment of cases of gender violence and the actions of the judicial authorities. Consequently, there are still gaps in the judicial response to cases of gender violence, in terms of effective prevention, protection, prosecution and punishment of cases, access to the justice system, inadequate processing is based on the performance of the judicial authorities to process cases, and inadequate processing based on the actions of the judicial authorities.

The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is recognized as an information system (IS) application that bridges the gap between higher-level enterprise management (ERP) and lower-level automation and supervision (SCADA). This study presents an innovative approach focused on organizational and informational integration for the implementation of an MES system in an industrial environment. It conducts an in-depth analysis of the existing information system, developing a thorough understanding of its components, their interactions and identified gaps. In addition, it proposes a comprehensive methodology that rigorously frames the main components of the MES implementation process, from the design phase through to the operational phase. In addition to this theoretical basis, the study also integrates a practical dimension through a case study conducted within a flour mill. The aim is to provide concrete information on the implementation of an MES and to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology through this practical validation.

This book discusses the judicialisation of health in Brazil in the supplementary sphere, presenting a brief history of the attempt to realise the right to health in our country, as well as presenting mediation as an alternative to the growing number of lawsuits involving the relationship between private health service providers and insured people. The evolution of mediation on the national scene is fundamental and the consequence of a new way of promoting citizens' rights, and is even an express matter in the new Code of Civil Procedure. It has thus become a recent instrument that should be increasingly integrated and studied, in its consequences, as an alternative for the moment when the judiciary is overloaded with the most diverse litigation.

This book is an introduction to the study of Islamic finance. The author's reasoning focuses mainly on the presentation of the financial instruments in use. This is done by clarifying the historical framework and setting out the fundamental principles summarised in the 3P rule (Share-Lose-Profit). Emphasis is placed on traditional instruments (Murabaha, Al-Salam, Al-Ijara and Al-Istisnaa) and participative instruments (Musharaka and Mudharaba) to give readers an overview of the mechanisms for allocating funds to investment projects.
