This work gathers three writings that share the same objective, the attempt to understand the changes in the way of living spirituality that took place during the so-called archaic period of ancient Greece. The religious currents that emerged at this time are of popular origin and link ancient elements of diverse origins with others that are just emerging. They are Orphism, Dionysianism, the mysteries, especially the Eleusinian, and Pythagoreanism. They also share an approach to achieve the proposed objective, which is to understand the rites, ideas, and lifestyles that were practiced for the attainment of these experiences of the sacred. The first part, The Mysteries of Eleusis, deals with one of the most enduring religious practices in Western history, and also takes us into the myth of Dionysus. The second, Orphism, attempts to extract the distinctiveness of their rites and practices. Since we do not have any direct text of Pythagoras' authorship, the third part focuses on Empedocles, who seems to us, among the cases that have come down to us, to be the one in which Pythagorean thought and the Orphic way of life are most clearly united.

I would firstly like to thank God for allowing me to have this experience. To my wife Catia and my son Leonardo for their support in carrying out this work, and for understanding when I was absent. The nervous system is highly dependent on blood circulation due to the high metabolic rate of nerve tissue, making it dependent on a constant blood supply. Elements such as oxygen and glucose are not stored by the nervous system, so an uninterrupted blood supply of these elements through arterial blood is essential. In stroke victims, recovering the functionality of the affected upper limb is one of the most complex factors during rehabilitation, often discouraging therapy. The use of Induced Restraint Therapy (ICT) is based on the concept of performing intensive and repetitive training associated with restraint of the healthy limb, in order to induce functional reorganization of the motor systems in stroke, guaranteeing gains in functionality. Therefore, it is necessary to continue researching the gains and benefits in functionality that ICBT can promote for individuals with stroke sequelae, in order to provide a greater increase in the individual's functional recovery process.

Ecuador is a territory of permanent creation of companies with the purpose of generating diverse activities, be they commercial, industrial, services, transport, etc. The incorporation of companies facilitates the legal business between the parties involved through their legal representatives. It also incorporates the figure of the liability of the partners or shareholders before third parties up to the amount of their contributions. It establishes the importance of the articles of association for the legal and corporate life of a company, adapting them to the principles established in the Companies Act. Hence the importance of the intervention of the lawyer in the structuring of the articles of association of a commercial company.

This book reports on the development of applications of physical-mathematical models that are well-established in academic literature, and which can contribute to improving water and soil management, since their application promotes greater knowledge of the variables involved, and the numerical results can contribute to decision-making in situations of agricultural production or environmental conservation. The distinguishing aspect of this work is the fact that it was built through an academic structure based on the integration of teaching, research and university extension. The authors believe that the importance of the work lies in promoting a better use of the energies and time of teachers, academics and technicians, as well as a more efficient use of the material resources made available in university environments. The motivating question is: is it possible to harness this potential energy, present in all academics, and under the influence of the teachers' command, the continuity of the rhythm imposed by curricular classes, and the motivations brought about by research and extension, to carry out developments that contribute to our society?

Araxá currently has a high rate of waste production from the construction industry. It is estimated that every year the city disposes of around 87,000 tonnes of waste and with this eminent productivity, the management of this waste results in a precarious system. In view of the above, waste control, treatment, sorting and packaging are inoperative in accordance with CONAMA Resolution 307/2002. The municipality has a system of urban springs, which highlights the lack of waste management in the city. This complex is plagued by the devastation of preservation areas, which affects more than 26.2 per cent of these springs and often leads to the degradation, pollution and contamination of water sources. In the environment where this material is disposed of, there are some forms of waste separation by waste pickers, but nothing that is supervised or highly efficient. It should also be mentioned that the site does not only receive construction waste, which makes it difficult to reuse these materials, knowing that they are easily contaminated.

Didier Drogba is a retired Ivorian footballer who played as a striker. He is the all-time top scorer and former captain of the Côte d'Ivoire national team. He is best known for his career with Chelsea, for whom he scored more goals than any other foreign player and is currently the club's fourth all-time top scorer. Drogba was named in Chelsea's Team of the Decade 2010-2020 by Chelsea fans. He has twice been named African Footballer of the Year, winning the award in 2006 and 2009. Samuel Eto'o is a Cameroonian soccer administrator and former player. He will be President of the Cameroon Football Federation from December 11, 2021. George Weah is a Liberian politician and former professional footballer who is currently the President of Liberia, in office since 2018. This manuscript aims to provide an insight into Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o and George Weah.

Sea anemones are free-living benthic subsessile marine invertebrates that are usually found attached to the rocky substrate and belong to the order Actiniaria. The aim of this study was to identify the anemone species that occur at Viola and Prainha beaches on Itacuruçá Island, RJ (22° 56' 29"S 43° 53' 26"W). In this study, 443 individuals were collected, distributed among four species during the course of the research: Bunodosoma caissarum, with 256 individuals for Viola beach and 65 for Prainha; Bunodosoma cangicum with 54 individuals for Viola beach and 12 for Prainha; Anemonia sargassensis, with 32 individuals for Viola beach and 20 for Prainha and Anthopleura cascaia with 4 individuals for Viola beach and 0 for Prainha. Viola Beach showed a higher incidence of individuals, due to the greater availability of food and greater local biodiversity. As a result, the species Bunodosoma caissarum showed the highest incidence during the survey, with a total of 321 individuals collected, while the species Anthopleura cascaia showed the lowest incidence, as only 4 individuals were catalogued in the region studied.

The Cerrado biome has a rich biodiversity of fauna and flora, but the degradation of plant formations due to various impactful anthropogenic activities, such as the expansion of the agricultural frontier, the increase in the road network and urban growth, has the effect of reducing the genetic diversity of species. Among the various plant families that exist in the Cerrado biome, the Acanthaceae family stands out, with around 275 genera and 3,167 species. Within this family, the genus Justicia comprises approximately 2,000 species and is characterised by being the largest genus in this family. Many of the species in this genus are popularly used and are mainly characterised by the presence of alkaloids, lignins, flavonoids and terpenoids, which are compounds responsible for their pharmacological potential. However, in order to truly identify the species of the genus Justicia, it is necessary to carry out morphoanatomical control of the species. Species belonging to this genus are used to treat asthma, coughs and bronchitis, but morphoanatomical and phytochemical studies of J. pectoralis are still scarce.

The lack of understanding of the pathophysiology of laminitis limits action in the prevention and treatment of this disease. The mechanisms involved in this pathogenesis include multifactorial causes: ischaemic, enzymatic, inflammatory, endocrine, metabolic and traumatic. In addition to a detailed and illustrated description of the disease, this publication also includes the forms of presentation in animals, approaches to diagnosis, control, prevention, treatment and alternative therapies.

This paper presents a study and analysis of the problems related to losses in the threshing sector of the palm oil processing process in an agro-industry. In order to draw up a proposal for improvement, bibliographical research was carried out focusing on the four stages of the Problem Analysis and Solution Method (MASP) based on the "P" stage of the PDCA Cycle and quality tools for organising and analysing data. In this context, the work aims to collect data on the main process indicators, identify the main problem, verify the real cause and finally draw up an action plan as a suggestion for correcting the problems. By surveying the history of fruit losses, observing the data and using statistical analyses, it was possible to carry out the work, where the objective was achieved, so that it was possible to identify the main problems and through linear correlation and multiple regression it was possible to confirm the results indicated by the quality tools and from this it was possible to draw up an action plan, proposing improvements to reduce losses in the threshing sector.

Assessment is the judgement to accept the evidential results of an approach. It is the fundamental axis of evidential reasoning, i.e. the reasoning, taking as a starting point the information brought to the proceedings using the means of evidence, to an affirmation of disputed facts presented.The legal system establishes the right to evidence, which requires the application of rules of general epistemology for the evaluation of evidence. This cannot be an operation free of all criteria and loaded with subjectivity, but must be subject to the rules of logic, sound criticism and experience.In terms of facts and judicial reasoning, according to the criteria of Professor Daniel Gonzales Lagier, the evidential facts would constitute the reasons for the argument, the guarantee would be constituted by the maxims of experience, the presumptions and other types of general statements, and the support would be configured by the information necessary to support the guarantee.

Almost all the herbal knowledge possessed by the Australian Aborigines disappeared when the Europeans arrived. Also, in this region, contemporary herbal therapies come from the West, from China and, increasingly, from other countries in Oceania. Cradle of the oldest existing culture in the world, Australia is also home to a very ancient herbalist tradition. The aborigines, settled on the island for more than 60,000 years, have acquired precise knowledge of plants, most of which, such as eucalyptus (eucalyptus globules), were originally only found in Australia. Although this knowledge disappeared with its custodians, interest in local herbalist traditions was nevertheless maintained.

The author is a biomedical graduate from UNIRIO, the institution where she carried out this study. The authors found that the practice of physical exercise together with cognitive exercises through an online platform is related to better performance, both in the brain and in the academic area of higher education. They suggest that this is an important tool not only for universities, but also for schools and companies that can apply healthier habits to improve the performance of students or workers, combining the constant practice of mainly aerobic exercises.

Latin American illustration has become vitally important as a holistic image of the construction of the cultural imaginary of Latin America in globalisation, thanks to the initiatives of some local writers and illustrators who contribute with their stories rooted in a non-colonial past, in a memory of indigenous peoples, Afro-decendencies, mixed races and all those socio-cultural forms that build an idiosyncratic Latin Americanness. The analysis will first focus on the communicative, aesthetic and epistemological nature of illustration, in order to demonstrate its graphic importance. We will begin by approaching the subject with literary and graphic authors of the past and present, in order to reflect on the importance of joint progress between writers and illustrators in the construction or reconstruction of cultural memory and Latin American identity, driven by children's literature.

Those seeking psychological care services may have barriers to face-to-face access to a specialist. In this telematic era, technology can bring the client/patient closer through videoconferencing, even in very disparate geographical areas, offering an effective alternative for the extension and use of these tools. Technologies not only allow us to be closer to the people we love, but have also unleashed a new way of relating to ourselves and to society, and have become embedded in almost all areas of our lives. This short paper highlights the open debate about online therapy and shows some research on its effectiveness and comparison with face-to-face therapy. Finally, technology is a common commodity that will irrepressibly become embedded in almost all areas of human life. It cautiously suggests the use of online therapy and the need to produce more research to support its efficacy.

Undoubtedly, the long process of domination that Andean communities have suffered during the last centuries, ended up fragmenting their traditional logics of economic and social organization. In spite of this, in certain specific places, certain practices of resource exploitation persist under a type of organization that was thought to have disappeared. This book is a treatise on the persistence of a type of Andean knowledge related to the management of ecological floors in vertical spaces (microverticality). It shows that the community of Nizag-Alauís-Ecuador, has subsisted thanks to the agricultural benefits of different ecological floors and despite the pressures and threats of the dominant social system, it continues to recreate itself to this day (2016). Community, kinship and reciprocal relationships are the institutions that sustain this economic and social system. Recognizing this type of traditional knowledge represents an opportunity to build new economic and social logics that transcend the agro-industrial development paradigms.

From the Sacred to the Profane: Textiles and Fashion in Peru is a journey through 5,000 years of Peruvian textile history through the keys that reveal it as a paradigm in universal design and a living heritage of the nation. Textiles in Peru is a vigorous activity sustained thanks to the rich fibres of origin and artisanal activity, which are the magma of a promising future in the fashion industry. This essay seeks answers in the content of the textile present in its meanings and in the language that constitutes it in order to recreate it in metalanguages that open the way to the future through fashion.

This paper will attempt to link the philosophical foundations of the neo-constitutionalists Ronald Dworkin, Robert Alexy and the work of Luis Prieto Sanchís, which is suggested to be applicable to Mexican law, based on a systematic argumentation and study of the fundamental principles; it is even applied by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, in the resolution of some cases in the presence of difficult cases.

An analysis of the market for genetically modified products is carried out, which involves analyzing the main costs of biotechnology industries, the role of patents and farmers' motivations for adopting these new technologies. Then, the role of consumers as final demanders of these products is analyzed. Finally, the main challenges that these new technological developments imply for society in order to solve its basic economic problems are pointed out. The importance of environmental conservation and of achieving equitable access to these new products and knowledge is mentioned here.

The present study comprises the exploration of perspectives, concepts and ideas that nine preschool Music Education Teachers have acquired throughout their professional experiences. It is a sample of teachers who work in schools of the Transferred Subsystem in municipalities of the State of Nuevo León, specifically in Apodaca, Ciénega de Flores, Escobedo, Guadalupe, Monterrey and San Nicolás. The data collection was carried out through interviews whose questions were derived from the Theoretical Framework that contains contributions from various authors and referents in the fields of Education, Art Education and Music Education. The results invite to share the findings of the study with the intention of making known aspects of Preschool Music Education present in the professional experiences of the Teachers interviewed.

This book deals with the problem of identifying and diagnosing complex systems using kernel methods. In order to overcome this problem, a reduction in the number of model parameters is necessary, as well as an update of these parameters. Similarly, in order to avoid the slightest failure and improve process quality and efficiency, a system diagnostics step is required, which consists in detecting deviations from the normal state of operation.

The research presented is part of a study conducted in the urban community of Pueblo Nuevo, with the objective of increasing the perceived severity in smoking patients and thus generate among the patients included a greater perception of the risks to which they are exposed by maintaining the habit of smoking. The health actions carried out are a sample of how much there is to be done in terms of promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation in the case of addictions and specifically in terms of smoking.

The square is not just any place, it has specific laws that during history have been approached in different ways by different cultures. This book deals with the historical evolution of the square, as well as the physical-spatial analysis of this urban place par excellence. The Plaza as a place within the city has always had a preponderant place, firstly for the population that uses it, and secondly for the urban fabric and the physical-spatial conformation of the city. The square as a dynamic and participatory place can be concluded that it has preserved in essence, the same variables over time, which definitely give it its preeminence as the heart of the city.

The issue of student attrition from higher education has received considerable attention as it is a serious problem in Colombia and around the world. More than 25% of those admitted to a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) programme drop out at some point. The research focuses on problems that could be solved through pedagogy. This study reviews the literature on attrition and provides comparative data from two other TEFL programmes in Bogotá, Colombia. According to Hummel, (2014), these factors play an important role when learning a second language: intelligence aptitude, attitudes, motivation, personality, learning style, cognitive style and learning strategies. We plan to focus on attitudes, motivation and language learning strategies. The information gathered through surveys and interviews tries to find constant causes in order to propose solutions to the programme management together with the teaching staff.

The University Reform of Cordoba was a response to the Latin American University before 1918, which carried in its bosom monarchic and monastic residues typical of the Middle Ages, a University at the service mainly of those who could pay the tuition, coming from the conservative agricultural groups, with lifetime professorships, great ceremonies similar to the royal and episcopal ones. To this backward University, due to the inheritance coming from Spain, the Napoleonic model was added after the Independence of the countries, which put these institutions at the service of the State and only for teaching, leaving scientific research unimportant, thus increasing the intellectual backwardness, and without offering services to the communities due to their own enclosure. Against this situation, the student rebellion at the University of Cordoba spread to other Argentine universities and Latin American universities, where the Student Federations devoted much of their efforts to transfer the university reform to society.

The book you have in your hands is a partial delivery of my doctoral studies (2010-2016) in Anthropology carried out at the Universidad de los Andes (ULA), Mérida Venezuela. Its purpose is to show how patriarchy, as a cultural system of domination of men over women - in interrelation with the capitalist system - constructs stereotypes (cultural systems, generally dichotomous, arbitrary, opposites), which when some are exhausted and reinvigorated (gender crisis) contribute to aggravate the housing problem. The aim is therefore to make it clear that the housing crisis cannot be solved through housing (massive construction of housing solutions), but rather by addressing the causes and consequences generated by the gender crisis.
