Male fertility once again challenges science with many unanswered questions. Varicocele (pathology involving the testicle) is frequently presented in the uro-andrological consultation. Although this condition has been known historically, there are paradigm shifts in terms of "when and how to treat it". Varicocelectomy (varicocele surgery) is still an alternative. This thesis attempts to clear some doubts and help us to make better decisions.

After the press articles and novels, the author presents here, eight historical stories which took place in the south-west region of Oran and in particular in Aïn-Sefra which was once nicknamed: The Pearl of the desert.The region dates back to the last period of prehistory, the Neolithic which is a key era in the history of humanity. It is located between 10,000 and 2500 years before our era when stone tools were used. Evidence of this presence is provided to us by rock carvings representing hunters, elephants, rams, lions... and also the discovery of tumulus and bones of vegetarian dinosaurs.The southwest region was Islamized at the beginning of the 8th century. In the 13th century, the Béni-Amer became the owners of the lands of Aïn-Sefra and its surroundings. Around 1515, Sidi Mohammed Ben Houcine ben Choïb, known as Abou Dakhil, came from Zemmoura (Relizane) and settled at the Ksar of Rba. When he died around 1565, his son Sidi Mohammed Lokmane bought the ksar of Aïn-Sefra and a strip of land of several hundred hectares from the Béni-Amer who moved to settle around Sidi Bel-Abbès.

This paper analyzes, comparatively, the performance of barley/soybean, rapeseed/soybean and wheat/soybean production systems as different land use options in the Tres Arroyos area (Argentina) in relation to aspects related to energy flow, nutrient flow, water use and pesticide use impact as measures of the impact on ecological sustainability. The evaluation is also carried out under different production models (in two agroecological areas and two levels of input application). The behavior of double cropping sequences in the use of energy, water, nutrients and pesticides is different, but is also modified to a large extent by the production model. The need arises to make an assessment of sustainability in an integrated manner, using appropriate tools that incorporate not only the ecological dimension of sustainability but also the economic and socio-cultural dimensions. Even, in a longer term, integrated into longer-term crop rotations.

Workload has increased significantly in recent years. Studies show that mindfulness exercises can have a positive effect in the work context, e.g. on these very workloads. Around 88% of companies in Austria have four or fewer employees, making this the most common company size. The question arises as to which special exercises can be easily implemented in very small companies. In this paper, a selection of already successfully implemented mindfulness concepts for larger companies is presented. Furthermore, research results on mindfulness, especially in a corporate context, are presented. These two topics will then be applied to the specific needs of microenterprises. The result of this work is then summarized in a compact guideline in which concrete exercises for micro-enterprises are suggested.

Based on the data obtained about the establishment and the information collected on Good Manufacturing Practices, an instruction manual was devised to implement this prerequisite. Current world problems indicate that 80% of Food Transmissible Diseases (FTEs) are linked to problems of poor handling and hygiene practices in the places where food is produced, as well as to the actions of operators who are not properly trained to carry out their work in a responsible manner and owners of companies who only want to produce large quantities without taking into account the safety and quality of their products. It is essential to comply with the requirements of the regulations of our country by implementing "Good Manufacturing Practices", with the primary objective of achieving safe and good quality food.

The field of control is increasingly in demand for the development of wind energy systems, particularly for solving the problems of integrating wind turbines into a power grid. Currently, the development of different theories and approaches to nursing have contributed, not only to define professional competencies, but also the very specificity of the nurse's functions in health organizations. Today, the nursing professional is taken into account as a member of a profession in change and in crisis, where he/she must position him/herself with the rest of the health team, on an equal hierarchy and importance, on the basis of self-reflection and formal criticism, distancing the professional from these cultural constructions that do not contribute anything good to his/her performance and esteem. Recognizing the need for motivational management and leadership oriented towards intelligent organizations and happy agents.

This research is part of the annual project of the Observatorio Iberoamericano de la Ficción Televisiva carried out by a team of associated researchers, in which 12 countries participate. In addition to the interests of this group in the study of the different television grids of the different countries in the light of a specific topic of analysis, a special chapter was devoted to the impact of teleseries and telenovelas on young audiences in Colombia from an educational perspective based on a pilot literacy test for the critical reception of television in public schools in the district.

Today we are witnessing an upsurge in criminal behaviour by criminal gangs in diverse contexts such as narco-terrorism in Mexico and juvenile delinquency in the marginalised neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Many of these delinquents are devotees of saints such as San La Muerte, Frente Vital, Gauchito Gil, San Nazario and Jesús Malverde. Is there a religion of crime? What is the function of these saints for criminal morality? Can we speak of criminal saints? In this book we will see how the experience of the sacred, a product of the emergence of drug-trafficking institutions and transgressor saints, becomes a criminogenic factor that influences criminal behaviour and allows access to a morality different from the dominant morality, legitimising the criminal ethos. To this end, we will analyse the forms of worship, iconography and mythography of the different saints and their relationship with crime, taking as a starting point the process of canonisation that began in Late Antiquity. This analysis will allow us to incorporate the experience of the sacred as a factor to be taken into account when designing crime prevention programmes.

The authors present several theoretical references, among them: the principles and notions of complexity studies, the new ideas of organizational management (self-organization) and the transdisciplinary perspective, among others, to support a strategy that makes feasible the dynamization between disciplines, actors and sectors, to make sustainable and autopoietic research projects.

The Reform of the Non-Compliance of Labor Rights of Pregnant Women in Ecuador. Nancy L. Fiallos Angulo, is an important contribution in the search to improve the non-compliance of labor rights of pregnant Ecuadorian women. The experience acquired as a lawyer, clinical psychologist in the CORIESU Foundation, and as a judicial expert in the area makes this research to be treated in a simple and understandable language for the readers. The aim of the book is to describe the results obtained as a result of the research framed in the foundation of a model for textual production by teachers and students of the Linguistics and Literature programme of the Technological University of Chocó "Diego Luis Córdoba", as well as a strategy for its implementation. To this end, a model of this process was based on the relationship established between the theoretical and practical components of the pedagogical task, which made it possible to define the components, relationships, stages, dimensions and principles that regulate its operation. Based on the model presented, a strategy was structured for its implementation in the pedagogical practice of the Technological University of Chocó "Diego Luis Córdoba", through two specific strategic actions identified as: Training for teachers in areas related to textual production and the insertion of the Textual Production Model in the PEI (Institutional Educational Project) of the Linguistics and Literature programme. This was validated in practice on the basis of an initial experience in pedagogical practice.

This work shows as a whole the administrative actions as an integral part of the public function, emphasising their origin and the necessary procedural rituals developed by the public authorities linked to the executive branch of public power in a special way and to the other components of public power, as indicated in the same codification dictated as an effect of echoing the constitutional vocation of Colombia to be a true State of Law.

Organisations are currently dealing with huge and growing volumes and varieties of data. Only a small proportion of this data is transformed into knowledge. To this end, many companies are using BIG DATA techniques. This research presents a literature review of studies and research in the fields of Knowledge Management (KM) and BIG DATA over the last ten years. The aim of this study is to identify the concepts, applications, purposes and processes related to the subject and to identify the most important Critical Success Factors in BIG DATA applications in order to minimise the risks of its application. A case study in a large national logistics company confirmed the main components of a KM model applicable to BIG DATA and that the Critical Success Factors of KM are equally important for minimising the risks of BIG DATA applications. The result of this research also presents the practical implications in terms of what gaps exist in relation to the Critical Success Factors for the company under analysis and the relevant considerations.

With the development of this research, we inquired to determine the problem solving strategies used by fourth year high school students. For this purpose, the strategies were identified and then they were classified. The theory underpinning this research is based on Ausubel's significant learning theory, according to which students assimilate knowledge in two ways, one in a mechanical way and the other in a significant way. The research design is non-experimental and descriptive; to carry it out, a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were applied to a group of students selected through a non-probabilistic sampling technique. From this process, it was possible to determine that students mostly employ problem solving strategies using mechanical processes and meaningful processes in their resolution. However, it was also determined that in spite of employing both mechanical and meaningful processes, a large part of the students do not solve the problems or do not make a meaningful reflection on the methods applied.

This work shows an implementation of the quality and safety management method called 5S, for the Coating Manufacturing Workshop of the company Aster Chile Ltda. The objective is to maintain conditions of safety, cleanliness and order inside the company, to improve the processes according to the needs of the company and supported by the implementation of this proposal for improvement, allowing each of the workers to perform their tasks more efficiently. The final proposal contemplates a solution to the deficiencies found in the workshop once the diagnosis was made: Recognition of the achievement of objectives, with the participation of the workers and surveyed by means of a survey.

The advance of technology has allowed a turn within the professions. Journalism has not been the exception, since the new professional has to adapt to new platforms, and the important thing is to know how to tell stories under new models, and fulfilling the basic functions of educating and entertaining an audience. "Periodification" combines the concepts of "gamification", which is learning through play, and journalism which is telling the news or stories that cause an effect on a society. In this document we are collecting ideas and explaining the basic concepts to make journalistic work more attractive. Different authors talk about modern communication processes provided by technologies. It is important to emphasize that the theories that led us to an investigation of mass communication, allow us to provide new ideas to tell stories in a different way. Communication has evolved from the horizontal to the circular and reticular. Likewise, the audience we reach is important because it depends on it if the "Periodification" advances or takes a new direction or model of information consumption.

Waste disposal and reuse processes have been strong points in discussions and studies related to environmental conservation ever since man realised the need for them. At the same time, and no less importantly, there have been studies aimed at discovering new raw materials and technologies for the most diverse segments of activity in order to avoid the scarcity of various products. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a thermoplastic that is widely used around the world to manufacture packaging, particularly bottles for carbonated drinks. Its characteristics include low density, transparency, gloss, good performance in different designs, safety and ease of moulding, as well as high mechanical and chemical resistance. Its use generates a large volume of waste that is improperly disposed of in the environment, which causes serious environmental impacts. The aim of this study was to assess the microstructure of mortars incorporated with micronised PET as a partial substitute for fine aggregate at 20% and 30%. Specimens measuring 5 cm x 10 cm were moulded and their physical properties assessed.

Aging is accompanied by a series of changes including a decrease in strength and muscle mass. High intensity interval training is an exercise modality that has functional, cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal benefits in older adults. The objectives of this review are to examine the existing scientific evidence to determine the effects of high-intensity interval training on muscle strength in older adults as an element of prevention and treatment of sarcopenia. Obtaining the conclusion that HIIT training has improvements in functional and cardiorespiratory capacity, in body composition, has benefits on muscle strength, increases muscle architecture and quality, and is associated with muscle hypertrophy in older adults.

This book consists of two parts: in the first part, a review is made of the different conceptions that have emerged over time about motivation. This work focuses on the cognitive approach and takes into consideration variables such as self-concept, causal attributions, and academic goals. The purpose of this book is to disseminate the analysis of the mathematical organization related to the mathematical object polyhedra based on the Anthropological Theory of Didactics (TAD). Likewise, it has a compilation of the analysis of the mathematical object polyhedra in the textbooks of primary education disseminated in Peru from 1965 to the present, in which the different thematic aspects worked in the textbooks are presented.

When it comes to safety in pressurised vessels, it is necessary to install at least one safety/relief valve, depending on the process involved. Improper use or lack of this equipment can lead to accidents such as the leakage of gases, dangerous products or even explosions, which can be fatal for employees. This makes valve sizing extremely important, regardless of the process it is connected to. Based on the need to better serve the company and reduce costs, a portable test bench was developed for safety valves, which will be used to carry out maintenance and calibrations on site, thus avoiding higher costs with the possible stoppage of the production process so that the procedure could be carried out in a distant laboratory, as well as reducing the costs of transporting the equipment.

The aim of this book is to describe the development stages of the website Sistema de Análise Temporal de Doenças em Plantas (SiTemp), available at [http://sitav.pga.uem.br]. The web tool is aimed at agronomists, who have technical and scientific knowledge of the temporal analysis of diseases. Registration information and data observed in the field or laboratory on the severity of plant diseases are stored in the SiTemp database, generating a history, which, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, processes the observed data using the Logistic, Monomolecular and Gompertz mathematical models, choosing the model that presents the best solution to explain the data set and calculating the temporal analysis and the shape of the Area Under the Disease Progress Curve (AACPD). The result of the temporal analysis is generated in the form of texts, variables, tables and graphs, and it is the agronomist's responsibility to analyze the information, which will serve as a technical-scientific basis for their final decision on crop management.Keywords: Web, disease management, epidemiology.

The new technologies in the direction of the teaching-learning process constitute one of the challenges of the contemporary Cuban educational system, its use requires the systemic self-preparation of the pedagogical personnel. The use of the computer as a teaching medium is of vital importance in the curricular work of Cuban History and within it, the differentiated treatment of local history. In order to carry out the research, it was necessary to use several bibliographic sources; it was verified during the study that the literature that deals with this subject is wide and updated; taking into account the objective and purpose of the elementary school, we applied the methods of scientific research: theoretical, empirical and statistical methods, which allowed us to verify and corroborate the scientific problem referred to the limited use of the computer as an effective means for the curricular treatment of Cuban History.

The report characterises research into the supply of products for drinking at large-scale events, especially music festivals. The possibilities of these products as functional resources and marks of socio-environmental sustainability are considered. The research carried out was characterised as an exploratory study, aimed at identifying and selecting research sources, as well as descriptive, because it describes and critically considers the range of products studied, with regard to their use or improvement as sustainability brands. A study involving management and production in the field of design was therefore carried out, considering the functional and aesthetic-symbolic properties of a type of product called Sustaincup, in relation to the needs of effectively sustainable development and good communication of actions aimed at socio-environmental responsibility in business. The results provide information to guide the decisions of designers, managers and event promoters interested in the production, acquisition and use of beverage container products.

This work was designed to help bodies such as Civil Defence in predicting landslides in the city of Teófilo Otoni (MG). Another important point in the work is the importance of using Artificial Intelligence, with a special emphasis on Fuzzy Logic. Fuzzy Logic is based on uncertainty, so it performs very well in analysing the risks of landslides.

Youth is not a state of the flesh. Many young people move through the world with hearts full of old ruins. But we mustn't overlook the fact that today the world is facing a shift in the age pyramid, where the mature market is increasingly taking centre stage in human relations, positioning itself as younger than ever. However, struggle has enriched them with experience; pain has honed their emotions and sacrifice has tempered their character. Is modern retail, whose focus has increasingly been on impersonality through shops full of merchandise and empty of souls, prepared for this new market that is spreading with galloping speed? We urgently need to get to know this new reality, which is already emerging in most of the world's major metropolises, in order to prepare ourselves for this new revolution in the field of retail. This research work aims to continue this discussion in the academic and professional spheres, providing initial resources for broader and deeper reflections on the subject.
