This book presents the physiological qualities of the varieties of Creole rice seeds from the municipalities of Cachoeira Grande and Morro - MA through germination and vigour tests carried out at the Seed Analysis Laboratory belonging to the Agricultural Sciences Centre of the Phytotechny and Plant Health Department at the State University of Maranhão with the aim of finding the most productive Creole variety. This book provides the reader with more detailed information about the research and the results we found with these peculiar varieties.

Research on thermoregulation in boa snakes is scarce. In this study, the thermal ecology of Boa constrictors was evaluated in specimens collected in Córdoba - Colombia and captive animals in Los Caimanes Zoo. The data indicate a high priority to precise thermoregulation for individuals and a tigmothermal behavior. Body temperatures for males and females showed differences. It was also observed that the body temperatures (Tc) of the boas in the field were higher than the temperatures selected by the organisms (Tset) in the laboratory and lower than the operative temperatures taken with steel models, demonstrating high thermoregulatory efficiency.

The Brazilian public administration underwent a restructuring of its way of governing from the 1990s onwards. The managerial model was adopted in place of the bureaucratic model, given that the state was going through a serious economic, political and social crisis. With this in mind, the state of Minas Gerais decided to implement the Shared Services Centre, which centralises processes in a single unit and aims to reduce operating costs by standardising processes, increasing productivity and providing excellent services. With this in mind, the aim of this qualitative, descriptive study is to analyse how the Shared Services Centre was implemented, focusing on the purchasing processes of the State Secretariat for Social Defence and exploring the exceptions with regard to purchases that did not fall within the scope of the shared services project.

Clinical manifestations and diagnostic principles of combined trauma of facial bones with regard to hemorheological properties of blood are evaluated. Special attention is paid to the methods of surgical treatment of combined trauma of facial bones taking into account hemorheologic properties of blood. The authors have developed a technique of algorithm of pre- and postoperative treatment taking into account the severity of trauma and hemorheologic disorders, its effectiveness is shown. The monograph is intended for practical use for doctors - maxillofacial surgeons.

In developing countries, the livelihoods and food security of millions of people depend to a large extent on wetlands. The U.C.I.N., the setting for our study, is a major contributor to the interplay between conservation goals and the socio-economic strengths of wetlands. This book focuses on the contribution of the mangrove ecosystem to improving household incomes in Palmarin. Malacological resources play an important role in the island households of the Saloum delta. They represent an opportunity for diversification, enabling households to secure their income. The methodology used is based on various phases, from literature review to data analysis and processing, including preliminary interviews, development of data collection tools, sampling and surveys.

The stimulus produced by the legal requirement to georeference rural properties, demanded by INCRA, is leading companies to make progressive use of geotechnologies, although they are still a long way from making real use of the possibilities arising from these tools.This book evaluates two axes of the system: the agricultural company and the geotechnology consulting company. It shows that the current applications of georeferencing are concentrated on the tax, land and environmental aspects, guiding producers in the implementation of the frameworks required by the legislation and which favour them under the laws in force, avoiding penalties and enabling conditions for land movements, loans and public financing.There is also a market trend towards working with database technology via the internet (clouds). Other applications, such as land use management through remote sensing products and precision cartography, are suggested in the form of charts and maps. It can be seen that geoprocessing, if combined with strategic field visits, becomes a tool with a high potential to contribute to optimising management.

The author has shown that spatial and temporal biography (autobiography) of a person in different coordinate systems helps to create a synthesis of thinking: scientific, mythological, religious, intuitive, to prepare modern man to understand his own spiritual evolution.The author revealed the main directions of natural-scientific, philosophical, religious, esoteric, cultural and intuitive research in the modern philosophy of space and time, and proposed practical models of constructing different systems of space-time coordinates for studying the spiritual evolution of man.The main provisions and conclusions of this work can serve as a theoretical basis for further natural-scientific, religious and philosophical study of the definition of spiritual evolution of a particular person in different systems of coordinates as a synthesis of cognitive thinking: scientific, mythological, religious, intuitive, as well as for practical use by philosophers, psychologists, clergymen, journalists.

The main theme of this book is the analysis of Brazil's social security system, seeking to compare it with other countries. It seeks a critical analysis of the current proposal, drawing this parallel with four other regimes with different rules. In order to achieve this objective, a bibliographical and legislative consultation was carried out to see how the national model is proposed. This was followed by a numerical and comparative analysis through a search of national and international data. It emerged that by presenting national numerical data and making a quantitative comparison with other countries and their respective systems, new, fairer and more egalitarian rules need to be established in Brazil in order to equalize benefits and reduce the high expenditure on social security in relation to the national GDP, preparing for the ageing of the population.

In Monterrey, a modern city, shaped by economic and technological interests, the environment is ordered and controlled in an effort to maintain a formal passage far removed from any natural or social dynamics. The urban obsession with formalist aesthetic doctrines has replaced natally regenerated places with horticultural deserts. The modern city does not have much time to think about the past because it urges to build an immediate and narrow future, a product of the capitalist tendency to maximize profits in the short term. Our city is growing rapidly, although a large part of the city we live in is still the city of yesterday, these yesterdays were remembering each other, pushing and disfiguring their predecessors to such a degree that today's city is made of fragments of yesterdays of the immediate past, because a large part of the previous pasts were so disfigured that they no longer tell us anything when we look at their history. There is a relationship of interdependence between man and his environment, therefore, any transformation that takes place in this, will involve a reaction of the organism to adapt.

In Africa, renewed aspirations for regional integration and cooperation are part of the search for solutions to the continent's deep and protracted economic and social crisis. This is happening against a backdrop that has in many ways become more conducive to the promotion of regional integration, paving the way for increased regional trade. If African regional integration is recognized as one of the economic strategies for resolving the problems of economic development, it has to be said that this regional integration presents challenges for the DRC because of its extroverted economy, which prevents the DRC, as a member of several regional and sub-regional organizations, from ratifying certain agreements. Although there are problems with African regional integration, it could be a factor in economic development if the various member countries manage to respect their commitments in general, and the DRC in particular.

The issue of gender and ethnic monopoly in the informal sector has already been addressed. Several investigations have been carried out in the same vein. The conclusions of most of these studies present ethnic monopoly in the informal sector as the result of several factors. As part of our Master II dissertation, we chose to focus on the subject of "gender and ethnic monopoly in the informal sector in Côte d'Ivoire: the case of tchapalo production and marketing by Lobi women in Agnibilékrou". The particularity of this work lies in the fact that it addresses the question of gender and ethnic monopoly in the production and marketing of tchapalo in the sub-prefecture of Agnibilékrou by Lobi women.

Within the framework of the profound state transformation represented by the new Bolivian constitutionalism, the normative development in the notarial service is concretized from the entry into force of Law No. 483 of the Plurinational Notary's Office in accordance with the principles and foundations of the new community plurinational constitutionalism, the Law of the Notary's Office establishes a new institutional organization of the notarial service, redefines the profile, attributions and responsibilities of the notary function and above all establishes the application of egalitarian legal pluralism and the mechanisms of cooperation and interjurisdictional coordination with the indigenous native peasant legal systems of the indigenous native peasant nations and peoples.The present work is part of a case study entitled "THE PLURINATIONAL NOTARIAL SERVICE AND THE QUECHUA LEGAL SYSTEM OF THE PALCA MAYU COMMUNITY". The problem to which it is intended to outline some alternative solutions has to do with the absence of intercultural policies and practices and egalitarian pluralism.

The negative consequences of human action on the environment reached an unprecedented level at the beginning of the 21st century, with the extinction of thousands of animal and plant species and the depletion of natural resources vital to society. This work describes a methodological proposal for an entrepreneurial environmental education action, the creation of environmental maps of the surroundings of school buildings by the students and teachers themselves, based on field research and data analysis carried out by the students. The methodology consists of three stages, the first being Pedagogical Preparation, when the students are introduced to the project and equipped with data collection methods; the second, Fieldwork, in which the students walk around the community surrounding the school collecting data; and the third, Data Processing, which is systematised in the free software package Libre Office to compose the report that will give rise to the School Environmental Map. The conclusion is that this methodology is feasible for public school teachers in general, as it is possible to create the Environmental Map at practically zero cost, with short and long-term benefits.

Inclusion and the social development of people with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) are considered extremely important actions nowadays. Given the need to improve the quality of life for this population group, this book evaluates the impact/contribution of the VemSer environmental education project on the development of people with ID. The study made it possible to articulate academic knowledge with popular knowledge through participatory action research.

The view of the medieval period is associated with darkness and chaos. There is talk of a society characterised by violence, poor cultural development and great mysticism. Is this really the true face of the Middle Ages? In this work we try to understand the representations of the period in the teaching of History in the public and private schools of Pouso Alegre-Minas Gerais, through the eyes of those who work with this subject on a daily basis: the teachers. Using a questionnaire, we sought to identify the views held and transmitted on a daily basis in the classroom. This is the place where history is constructed, felt and experienced.

This treatise on Deontology and the Legal Organization of Psychological Practice is a frame of reference for psychology students and young psychologists. It contains the various ethical and deontological recommendations and requirements governing all practicing psychologists. In addition, a number of principles and legal acts covering the psychologist's profession are briefly described. However, as pointed out in the introduction, since psychology is a recent and less developed discipline in sub-Saharan Africa in general and in DR Congo in particular, it is important to remember that this treatise draws heavily on contributions from the Western world, more specifically the French bath (in France), where efforts are more advanced. As the profession of psychologist is a universal one, the ethical and legal foundations of psychological practice are based on what has been done in other countries, adapted to the local context. In short, we remind you that respect for the psychic dimension of the individual is an inalienable right. Recognition of this right underpins the work of psychologists.

Quality water is the most important resource for maintaining life and the well-being of living beings, which is why concern about its characteristics is of fundamental importance to humanity. In the municipality of Codó Maranhão, the Itapecuru River, which cuts through the city, receives a large amount of pollutants through the uncontrolled dumping of domestic and industrial effluents. In view of this, the aim of this study was to carry out a preliminary compilation of physical and chemical data obtained through the execution of various research projects carried out by members of the research groups (GARSA/NASQA) on the stretch of the Itapecuru River in the municipality of Codó - MA, with the aim of verifying the spatial distribution and spatial and temporal behaviour of some physical and chemical parameters that are directly influenced by anthropogenic actions. This contributed to a better understanding of the behaviour of this data over time and space, and also gave us the opportunity to learn some methods of analysis and the use of equipment "in loco", as well as the analysis and interpretation of this data.

The development of technical skills is crucial to ensure the achievement of the sporting result, in all this is crucial the mastery of tactical skills by athletes to create and solve situations in the dynamics of opposition work, given the importance of the subject this research through a descriptive study, part of the assessment of the current state of the technical skill "dribbling", for which a non-probabilistic sampling is performed, formed a sample of 18 athletes of the Educational Unit Academia Naval Guayaquil, The results of the verification of the current state were derived from the application of different methods and techniques of the theoretical, empirical and statistical mathematical level, which created the basis for the elaboration of a guide of specific exercises focused on developing the technical skill under study, being structured with a necessary foundation, general methodological guidelines and a set of specific exercises for the development of the dribbling technique in formative soccer.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze from the theory of argumentation and analogical hermeneutics, the debate that takes place on digital platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Youtube by supporters and fans of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, against the media and its representatives, i.e., journalists and communicators. And more than a debate, authors and institutions analyze the discourse in the digital era. They investigate the type of messages and observe that there is no debate, but ideological campaigns with a negative charge against those who dare to question, criticize or comment on any policy, position or action of the now president in office. Such action puts at risk the function of journalism, which is to tell the facts and to monitor the political, economic and social powers, as well as to generate public opinion. But with the advent of the Internet, now whoever has an account on one of the digital platforms, has the instrument to respond, comment, inform, not only in text, but with voice and image, to build their own narrative of their reality and public opinion transforms it into published opinion.

The La Salada basin, with an area of 21,362 ha, is subsidiary to the La Picasa basin system. This area was severely affected by floods caused by heavy rains resulting from the Niño event of 1998-99, producing heavy economic losses due to the destruction of crops and pastures, and material damage to infrastructure, such as wire fences and buildings. However, it was observed that the impact of the meteorological phenomenon was not uniform, but that there was a diversity of situations produced by natural and anthropic factors. These factors are what make up the vulnerability of a territory. The general objective of this work is to develop an integrative methodology for risk management in the face of flood hazards, which makes it possible to evaluate and compare the vulnerability of different landscape units and homogeneous areas as a resource for managing the use of the landscape.

This book deals with the most recent advances in human biotechnology, focusing fundamentally on modern reproductive techniques and genetics applied to humans, as their impacts affect the social sphere, being ultimately highly complex social processes. The object of study of this research deals with the social representations, opinions and ideas that emerged in Uruguay from the different social actors that entered the scene at the time of debating the normative contents of the Law that was presented to regulate the medical practices of Assisted Human Reproduction. Because of the implications of these techniques, the real normative bases of our socio-cultural structure were put into play in this debate, creating a true space for communication where the scientific potential for revolution of our most essential social structures is discussed: the family and the very definition of human life. As a proposal rather than a conclusion, this work aims to show how our society is dynamically constructing a path to be followed.

The purpose of the paper is not only to explain what trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation is and the different ways of combating it, but also, and mainly, to understand why there is a discordance between what is normative and what actually happens in reality. It is a complex crime, in the sense that it functions as a transnational organised crime that constantly and systematically violates human rights, which our society lives with every day. It is a centuries-old crime, but it is also true that in recent times there has been a great development at the international level to combat it. It is a fight that many countries have joined, including our own. However, this progress has remained mostly at the normative level, as it has not been possible to effectively eliminate the crime.

The objective of this paper was to show the importance of a higher education focused on the practice of research, in which the pedagogical teacher can, throughout his training, experience research as a guiding element of his practice. It was shown that it is necessary to develop in the pedagogue, an education specialist, a more mature aspect of research, since he/she is responsible for the formation of subjects from kindergarten to elementary school. In Brazil, the pedagogue's responsibility is significant, given his particularities as an educational professional. This research showed from the perspective of students and teachers of the pedagogy course at the State University of Maranhão the need to invest during the pedagogy student's training in research practices, which can offer greater proximity to the reality of Brazilian education.

The process of population aging that Argentina is going through poses new challenges whose responses will require changes in formal and informal social support for older adults. Although there is previous information about social support networks in old age, there is scarce information about middle age. For this reason, a study was carried out using a non-experimental cross-sectional/correlational design. The study aimed to make a comparison of the links that make up the social support network in middle-aged and older adults, as well as to identify those most frequently associated with emotions of joy, sadness and anger in each group. A non-probabilistic purposive sample of 60 middle-aged and 60 older adults from the city of Mar del Plata was selected and administered: a Sociodemographic Data Questionnaire, the Structured Interview of Sources of Social Support and an Incomplete Sentences Questionnaire. The data were analyzed quantitatively, using statistical techniques. The results provide theoretical contributions that seek to facilitate interventions for health professionals.
