Harassment at work is a common occurrence in organisational environments and should be studied as it has a negative psychological, social, emotional and occupational impact on workers. In the present study, interviews were conducted with harassed women in a government institution in the state of Puebla to identify the emotional consequences they suffer. The results show that there are emotional consequences that leave irreparable psychological damage in the harassed person, such as fear, insecurity, predisposition to harassment and the appearance of various psychosomatic illnesses. Given that harassment at work is already considered a serious problem and present in our society, it is necessary for the professional immersed in organisations to be prepared to be able to detect the problem and offer the victims comprehensive solutions and programmes in order to strengthen healthy relationships in organisational environments.

This study discusses the validity of life insurance contracts in the face of living wills. The enactment of Law 25/2012, published on 16/06/2012, which regulated advance directives, Living Wills, allowing individuals to dispose of their lives in the event of serious illness or accident, and Article 10 of the aforementioned law, which provides for the non-decriminalisation of individuals who grant a Living Will and wish to enter into an insurance contract, it is understood that the provisions of the law provide as a condition that the Living Will must have been granted prior to the conclusion of the life insurance contract. Thus, the study presented here questions the validity of life insurance taken out after the passing of this law and its effects on the individual who opts for orthothanasia in their Living Will.

Nowadays, a significant number of nations, guided by the principle of the democratic rule of law, have stripped away their prejudices and "juridified" same-sex marriage, even recognising it as legal and constitutional. As the supreme law of the Cape Verdean nation, the portico of a panoply of fundamental norms that organise and guide the functioning of the country, the Constitution should always be called upon to respond to the current issues surrounding same-sex marriage. The aim of this article is to debate the issue in the light of the Constitution of the Republic of Cape Verde, without losing sight of what has been said about it in other legal-constitutional systems, namely in Spain and Portugal. In fact, the Cape Verdean Constitution does not recognise same-sex marriage.

The work of nurses, according to Leopardi, Gelbeck and Ramos, 2012, is characterised by four dimensions: direct care for individuals or groups, from conception to death; educational dimensions, consisting of professional training, continuing education and health education processes with users; administrative/managerial dimensions, coordinating and organising nursing work and participating in health care management; investigative dimensions, producing knowledge to support and guide care, management and health education processes. Various factors influence the suffering of nursing professionals, such as work overload, excessive working hours, overcrowded care units, devaluation of the profession, constant work with suffering and pain, among others. Nursing demands attention and a more humane approach to nursing professionals is needed.

In recent years and as a result of the restructuring of economic and social processes in the world, including public and private organizations, prospective strategic planning has taken a new direction in its conception, due to the internationalization of productive processes, greater emphasis on long-term planning, the emergence of social movements that increasingly request their participation in decision-making, more decentralized governments in terms of public policies aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens and better strategic positioning in world markets. With the intention of consolidating efforts towards the construction of a proposal for a sustainable future for countries such as Chile, Argentina, Ecuador and Venezuela, involving regional or territorial spaces as well as public and private organizations through the Strategic Prospective Analysis, which should be supported by theoretical and conceptual aspects associated with the application of methods in strategic foresight. The purpose is to integrate the different actors of the region with an impact on decision making.

We live in an individualistic society, which we often don't realise. We invite you to read this text, where we will have the opportunity to revisit a great work, showing us the importance of looking at collectivity, of issues that still prevail in liquid modernity. For as long as man has known himself, he has been obsessed with his own image. Paintings, sculptures and texts depicting the greatness of man and his achievements are not uncommon, but everyone wants to see only the beautiful side of the self, the portrait shows us a dark side that we don't present in everyday life.

Cryptogenic cirrhosis represents the final stage of some occult chronic liver diseases, with NASH being one of the main underlying diseases responsible for these cases. Some studies have looked for an association between cryptogenic cirrhosis and NASH by comparing the "metabolic profile" of the two groups, emphasizing diabetes mellitus and obesity. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of risk factors for NASH in patients with cryptogenic cirrhosis in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, in order to establish a possible causal relationship. The study was carried out at the ISCMPA Gastroenterology Department between 2008 and 2010. It was concluded that, in assessing the possible etiological relationship between NASH and cryptogenic cirrhosis, the results allow an inference to be made, since a concordance was found in the glycemic profile and a difference between the mean age, suggesting a time necessary for the progression of the disease.

This book is the fruit of my practice as an educator in Brazil, more precisely on the outskirts of São Paulo. I started teaching in 1990, first in the north-east of Brazil, then due to unforeseeable circumstances and force majeure I settled in São Paulo in search of new academic horizons, as well as to develop ongoing research into cognition, how learning takes place in an epistemological way in these children from the periphery, especially those who suffer from psychic, psychological, neurological and similar dysfunctions. In this case, I went in search of those with ADD, hyperactivity or impulsivity, or not. To do this, I combined praxis with a specific bibliography that gave me full support.

This paper presents symbolic criminal law as a phenomenon that arises from the feeling of urgency that society expresses towards the state when the former thinks that the application of criminal rules is undue, given the few policies to prevent crime. It shows the consequences of undesirable side-effects for crime, violence and the entire social framework in which these two elements are generally inserted. In practice, its appearance can be summed up as a propagandistic, manipulative wave, generally aimed at the popular masses, with symbolism emerging through the enactment of laws in response to public outcry every time a crime shocks the country. This symbolism is often used as a tool by political opportunists for their own benefit, turning it into a dangerous weapon, resulting from the crisis of reason in contemporary Brazilian society, the so-called Post-Modern Irrationalism.

It has been recognized that alcohol and tobacco consumption is related to public health problems that harm the most vulnerable sectors of our society; among them adolescents and young people who are at a stage of life where they can be influenced by the consumption of alcohol and tobacco and other psychoactive substances (Matute and Pillon, 2008), which, in turn, through excessive consumption of alcohol and tobacco causes millions of deaths in the world each year. According to the National Survey on Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Consumption (ENCODAT, 2016-2017) shows that the prevalence for the consumption of these substances begins during the age of 12 to 65 years, which causes diffusions and disability at a relatively early stage, The World Health Organization (WHO, 2010), The World Health Organization (WHO, 2010) states that alcoholism in many countries is already a harmful use among young people, which reduces self-control, leading to the adoption of risky behaviors, so that five out of ten leading causes of mortality are directly or indirectly related to alcohol abuse (Secretaría de Salud [SSA], 2010).

This book aims to analyse the formation of the first class of normalistas at the "Juvenal Miller" Normal School, as well as the work of these teachers from the 1950s onwards. To this end, six interviews were conducted, based on the theoretical-methodological framework of oral history and memory. The interviewees included five normalistas and one teacher from the first class of the public Normal Course in Rio Grande/RS. In addition, it presents the background to the creation of the Normal Course, as well as a brief history of the other protagonists in this story, i.e. the management and other teachers and students. It is worth highlighting the memories of these women who filled the teaching staff in the city of Rio Grande from the 1950s onwards and who, as we have seen, were awaiting the creation of the public Normal Course in the city in order to pursue the profession sought after by women in the golden years.

Designing is not always an act in which all the variables are under control, nor does the designer have the mastery of the concepts or the formal visual scope of his project. Designers are part of a chain in which their creativity is constrained by factors related to their hiring and the actors involved in the process, such as clients, the training received or the time available. For these reasons, we make some brief proposals to begin to review the way in which this professional and his activity are conceived due to the action that the environment and the culture in which his products are involved have on them.

This study analyzes the actions taken by the Guardianship Council, the Municipal Department of Education (SMEI) and the Municipal Department of Social Development (SMDS) to eradicate child labor in the municipality of Itapetinga-BA. This research sought to show the reality faced by many children and adolescents in our municipality. The study brings to debate and reflection the role of public authorities, the community, schools, universities and other institutions in promoting actions aimed at eradicating child labor and effectively guaranteeing the right of children and adolescents to access and remain in education. Child labor continues to be a major social problem, even with the expansion of the protection system through the implementation of laws that guarantee human rights, such as the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), approved by Decree-Law No. 5,452 of May 1, 1943, the 1988 Federal Constitution (CF) and the 1990 Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA).

In the first chapter - we try to carry out a historical investigation into the development of the discipline of Art Anthropology, going through different theories, traditions and perspectives, with the Guarani material culture, art and cosmology of Mato Grosso do Sul as the driving force. In the second chapter, we provide information about the Jaguapirú Village and the Bororó Village - located in the municipality of Dourados, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (Midwest Brazil). In this way, we go through issues involving archaeology, history, social, political and economic organization until we get into the production of Guarani art, artefacts and sacred and ritualistic objects. In the third chapter - we emphasize that art is a subject that anthropology has been dealing with for a long time, where various thinkers have brought their visions - going through different schools or traditions. Thus, this chapter presents a Guarani Amerindian view of sacred objects. Finally, in the fourth chapter, we go through issues involving history, social, political and economic organization, until we get to the production of Guarani art, artefacts and sacred and ritualistic objects.

This study is aimed at analyzing the imaginaries about educational inclusion of the preschool and elementary school teachers of the Francisco José de Caldas Municipal Educational Institution. In this research, the ideas and concepts were identified, from which the characteristics regarding educational inclusion were described and finally the teachers' imaginaries regarding educational inclusion were interpreted. On the other hand, with respect to the methodology, a qualitative approach was developed, with an ethnographic research method that was aimed at qualifying the imaginary about educational inclusion that the study group has, which involved the use of a semi-structured interview, tending to know among other aspects what are the imaginary, ideas, beliefs of teachers regarding both educational policies and the inclusive population. Finally, a review of administrative documents was made as secondary information such as the characterization of the inclusion population, provided by the inclusion managers.

One of the most recurrent themes in the history of philosophy is to rethink democracy, especially at times when its pillars are on sand platforms, in which sustaining itself is a major problem. Reality has shown and demonstrated that democracy as we know it is in a great crisis of foundations, values and theoretical/practical articulations. Participation and active discernment is a sine qua non condition for the legitimization of democracy. Such a democratic society could be conceived as one where citizens have access to the means and knowledge by which they can defend their rights against their leaders, and in the same way can make proposals for the development of society. However, contemporaneity brings with it new ways of interpreting the needs and public wills with which these rights can be defended. Thus, the notion of citizen is reinvented in order to approach the real-valid today. The research is a critical reading of several texts, qualitative and of philosophical hermeneutic cut, used in a critical way.

Breast cancer treatments have the ability to transform a woman's image, with temporary transformations such as hair loss, or permanent ones such as the removal of the diseased breast(s), which in many cases can be reconstructed through plastic surgery. However, the fact is that mastectomy can affect women both physically and psychologically, as it removes an organ loaded with meanings linked to female identity, motherhood and sexuality, as well as being a valued symbol of beauty in our society. With this in mind, we discussed breast cancer as a disease that affects women's bodies and self-image, reflecting on the impacts of discovering the disease and experiencing the procedures to treat it, and understanding how women relate to their bodies, which have been transformed for the sake of their health. The research that underpinned this work was qualitative, enabling us to better understand the subjects we interviewed, and through bibliographical research we dialogued with authors who discuss our categories.

This book analyzes the guarantees provided for in the Public-Private Partnerships Law (Law 11.079/2004). Its starting point was the opinion of jurist and professor Kiyoshi Harada, at the request of the Precatórios Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Section, published in the Boletim de Direito Administrativo (São Paulo: Editora NDJ, nº 3, pp. 308-315, Mar. 2005). In addition, substantive doctrine dealing with the constitutional and legal aspects of the guarantees offered in Public-Private Partnership contracts was consulted, which differ on the subject. The respectable side, led by Celso Antônio Bandeira de Mello, Maria Sylvia Zanella Di Pietro and Kiyoshi Harada, takes a more serious interpretation of the provisions of Law 11.079/2004 that deal with guarantees, pointing out various unconstitutionalities. On the other hand, many legal scholars take a less rigid view, such as Carlos Ari Sundfeld and Alexandre Santos de Aragão. This group believes that the guarantees offered in PPP contracts are constitutional and legal in order to encourage private individuals to invest. Thus, the legal uncertainty that Law 11.079/2004 was so keen to reduce is clear.

The work I am writing the prologue to is, from my point of view, the most consistent effort of orientation to criminological praxis that I have seen in the last decades in Central America, and its prolix research is only the prolegomenon to a definitive and urgent proposal in our countries, to make possible a crime prevention close to the community and within it. Where the problem of crime and the transgressor is seen in a broader context of inequity and social inequality, integration and social reintegration and commitment to the human person. These elements alone make this work mandatory reading for politicians when the dismay of the "pro-victim" speeches are fed today by the stentorian cries of zero tolerance, the alleged impunity of the Judiciary and the need for "shock measures" against the phenomenon of crime.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the perception of teachers on the Bachelor of Physical Education course at Unochapecó in relation to gender issues in initial training. Our intention is to reflect on the teachers' understanding of gender issues in the context of higher education. We used Bardin's (1977) Content Analysis technique to analyse the findings. The discussions and results show that it is difficult to differentiate between categories such as sex, gender and sexuality, which means that this topic is not discussed in their subjects. The data revealed that there is a need to move forward with reflections in order to deconstruct some understandings of gender, since in many instances the collaborators did not distinguish between the different categories. As for the treatment of these issues in the subjects, we realised that while research and studies on gender have occupied an increasingly visible space in our field, on the other hand gender is still a silent field in the formal curriculum, present in a hidden way in classroom relationships and in practice.

The book addresses the issue of educator's research training from the perspectives of pedagogical sciences, where the skills, abilities and values of scientific activity are analyzed. The integral valuation of the scientific work allows to present the results in two directions: research training linked to the initial and permanent training of educators and on the other hand, related to school hygiene and health education, where the link between the general, the particular and the singular is evidenced. The contributions are presented both in the context of the initial training of educators and in the context of postgraduate education, particularly academic training. The impacts of the results obtained by the author in the environment of the educational system where educators are protagonists are presented, as well as the effect produced on them and the necessary feedback for subsequent decisions to be taken. An element to ensure transformations in the participants and in their professional performance contexts from the development of creative potentialities.

The choice of the topic of youth entrepreneurship can be justified by the fact that Brazil is a country with a young population and also by the increased participation of young people in entrepreneurial activities. The aim of this study was therefore to analyse the barriers and difficulties faced by a young entrepreneur with a deactivated aviary and to propose an action plan to boost his re-entry into the service. The research strategy adopted was a case study, and data was collected using a structured interview. Through a SWOT analysis of the case, it can be seen that although poultry farming is an attractive income option, factors such as age, unpreparedness and lack of knowledge of the business, lack of employees and high employee turnover led to a low financial return that caused the business to close. Therefore, a 5W2H action plan was proposed in order to promote training for the entrepreneur and his employee, so that they can successfully re-enter the poultry business.
