This study was based on a rare sample (patients diagnosed with dementia and bipolar affective disorder simultaneously) whose small number, 130 patients, poses statistical challenges. A history of bipolar disorder is associated with a significantly higher risk of dementia in older adults and has been associated with cognitive decline. Some studies investigating the risk of dementia and death in older people with bipolar disorder have concluded that bipolar disorder in senile age is associated with an increased risk of dementia (designated as greater neurocognitive impairment in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition) and premature death. Bipolar disorder is a chronic psychiatric illness characterised by fluctuations in mood, with a relapsing and remitting course. The most common causes of dementia in individuals over the age of 65 are (1) Alzheimer's disease (2) vascular dementia and (3) vascular dementia and Alzheimer's type. Other diseases that account for around 10 per cent of the total include dementia with Lewy bodies; Pick's diseases; frontotemporal dementias.

The subject of "cultural heritage" is used in various areas of everyday life and with different meanings that may or may not be similar. The breadth of terminology, the multiplicity of meanings, the frequent and growing use in various media are the factors behind the idea of proposing an investigation into the distributional behaviour of publications on the subject, as well as the investigation of possible variations and derivations of the concept in such publications.

This study focuses on the level of knowledge of contraceptive use among women aged 15-49 attending the C. S Lubango. It is an evaluative, cross-sectional, prospective study adopting a quantitative approach and covering a period from 01/May to 30 November 2021. The vast majority of respondents, i.e. 94% of women, are aware of contraceptive methods, while only 6% are unaware of their existence.Women attending the CS Lubango have a general knowledge of contraception. However, their knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of contraception remains inadequate. We therefore recommend that all family planning professionals at the Lubango health center and elsewhere, who wish to improve contraceptive prevalence in this area, promote these determinants in order to boost the population's knowledge of modern contraceptive methods. But also, to organize and multiply the various training courses within the population of Lubango by reinforcing the knowledge of the nursing staff in family planning.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), obesity is one of the biggest public health problems on the planet. It is projected that by 2025 there will be around 2.3 billion overweight adults and 700 million obese ones. The WHO has been sensitising its member countries to the need to change sedentary lifestyles and improve eating habits in order to prevent overweight and obesity. The PRANEX extension project at the Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM) aims to re-educate obese/overweight individuals in terms of diet and physical exercise in order to reduce body fat composition. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of concurrent training (strength training and continuous aerobic training combined) and continuous aerobic training on body composition in obese individuals.

Temperate climate fruit trees grown in subtropical and tropical regions need artificial stimulation to start the production cycle. For these plants to start a new cycle in spring, they need to be exposed to a period of cold, which varies for each species and cultivar. In these regions where they don't have the necessary cold demand, the use of sprout inducers is essential to improve the uniformity of the sprouts and, subsequently, their production. Hydrogen cyanamide is the most widely used active ingredient for inducing sprouting in temperate fruit trees, especially grapevines and apple trees, but it is a highly toxic product, both for the applicator and the environment. As a result, the search for alternative products for inducing sprouting in temperate fruit trees is of great interest to growers and researchers, who have discovered alternatives such as garlic extract and later garlic stick hydrolate.

Latin America is one of the political and economic centers of the emerging multipolar world, home to more than 650 million people. Many countries of this region are aimed at pursuing an independent foreign policy and seek to move away from the historically raw material-based nature of their economies through accelerated innovation development. The Republic of Belarus can provide effective assistance to these countries by developing the most concrete trade and economic interaction. The nomenclature of Belarusian exports to this region includes potash fertilizers, means of land transport, ferrous metal products, chemical and petrochemical products, instruments and optical devices, and dairy products. Belarus also has positive production experience in Latin America. These include participation of Belarusian companies in geological and seismic exploration, mining, and construction projects in a number of countries. It is envisaged to further increase the volume of trade and investment through the implementation of joint cooperation projects to move from simple trade to the creation of joint ventures and assembly plants. This is the subject of this study.

The abilities and skills of people with visual impairment have the same opportunities and rights as everyone else. It should be considered that they need to be employed and incorporated for their labor reinsertion, as they are productive entities, capable of providing for their homes, sustaining their households and satisfying their personal needs using techniques appropriate to their disability. Without this being an obstacle, ensure satisfactory and productive employment, which is dignified along with their salary. Services and means of access must be specialized and become the key to dignity, productivity and independence for the visually impaired. In Ecuador there are many people with visual impairment, there are great reasons for children to be born prematurely and if they manage to survive many of them are affected in their vision. People with visual impairment are facing challenges due to vision loss; which at the same time are developing other skills and abilities, allowing them to develop their skills and abilities and be useful in other fields.

Whey, a co-product of cheese production, becomes an environmental problem when disposed of inappropriately. Jabuticaba peel has antioxidant activity among its constituents, and has suitable characteristics for the production of various products based on its utilisation. The milk drinks were produced in three batches: T1 - produced with the starter culture of Streptococcus thermophilus TA40; T2 - produced with S. thermophilus TA40 and the potentially probiotic commercial culture of Lactobacillus rhamnosus LR32; T3 - produced with S. thermophilus TA40 and the potentially probiotic native culture of Lactobacillus plantarum. All the treatments included syrup, hydroalcoholic extract and jelly produced from jaboticaba peel. The parameters moisture, ash, lipids, protein and total carbohydrates in the wet and dry samples were assessed. There were no significant differences between the formulations (p > 0.05) for any of the analyses carried out, which shows that the addition of the potentially probiotic commercial (L. rhamnosus LR32) and native (L. plantarum) cultures did not interfere with the composition and nutritional parameters.

Undoubtedly, talking about women's rights is a topic of absolute interest for all mankind and Colombia is no exception, undoubtedly transports us to historical antecedents that have marked their struggle to seek equality, equity, recognition and the guarantee of their rights in society. The main feminist movements and organizations at a global level are identified with respect to the arduous work they have had to face for the ratification of their rights and all forms of discrimination against women. This struggle began in the mid-nineteenth century at the time of the enlightenment from the French revolution with Olimpe de Gouges, to whom we owe thanks to his persistence the "declaration of women's rights" in 1791, as this allowed somehow regulate an equality of women with respect to men in all areas of public and private life.

Cancer is defined as the gradual accumulation of gene alterations that transform any human cell into a mass of uncontrollable proliferation (1). Specifically, breast cancer (BC) is among the leading causes of death worldwide, including Mexico (2). In recent years it has been observed that there is a close relationship between breast cancer and some factors such as: a) socioeconomic factors, b) body mass index, c) diet, d) early age of first pregnancy, e) not having breastfed and f) high breast density. However, none of these factors have been able to explain the possible causes or the development of breast cancer; consequently, there has only been a slight decrease in the incidence of this cancer, and it has been reported that timely diagnosis of breast cancer would allow for better treatment and prognosis for the patient.

School events were born linked to the emergence of the public school and the conformation of the Argentine State at the end of the 19th century, whose mission is to strengthen the construction of nationality based on the precepts of modern society prevailing in Europe and America. The constant immigration justifies the implementation of symbolic rituals of a patriotic nature, based on the need for the new inhabitants and citizens to show their adherence to the values that make up the Argentine national identity, for which the State delegates to the educational institutions as an area of social legal validation, the implementation of the most relevant act of symbolic adherence, the pledge of allegiance to the Argentine Flag, the maximum reference of the cultural identity of the Argentine Nation. Migratory flows, paradigm shifts and political and social transformations that have occurred in recent years in Argentina lead to reflect on pedagogical interventions and their consequences in the new cultural and educational configurations, assuming the challenges of recontextualizing patriotic acts according to the new contemporary intercultural scenarios.

This work was created with the aim of disseminating Nicaraguan poetry written by women. In this case we will approach the poetry of Marta Leonor Gonzàlez, a poet of the XXI Century. She deconstructs the language and uses words without euphemisms. In this work we present the contributions of Marta Leonor with her three works under study: Casa de Fuego, Huérfana Embravecida and Palomas Equilibristas. The poet's lyrical self and her verbal transgression can be appreciated. In addition, her poems allow us to travel along a well known route in Latin America: the pain and courage of the Latin American woman, in this case Nicaraguan.

The conception of a Colombian state that establishes protection measures without guarantees of non-repetition has not been possible, especially in territories with strategic projections for national development, such as Bajo Cauca Antioqueño, partly due to the fact that the structure of the Colombian state is based on the construction of a nation-state, and not a nation in terms of state-building. This conception has prevented the creation of sustainable and transversal solutions with respect to the territory's own needs and dynamics; consequently, the application of mistaken policies has led to the consolidation of conflict situations and dynamics of violence, which have been exploited by armed actors as a means of legitimising their actions, due to the precarious institutional presence, weak infrastructure and reduced access to the national economic dynamics, justified in part by geostrategic characteristics and difficult access. Likewise, the failed demobilisation processes have had a multiplying effect on the dynamics of violence in the analysed territory.

Due to its size, Brazil has many aquatic environments such as rivers, lakes and reservoirs. However, siltation, pollution and inadequate exploitation of water resources are becoming increasingly common. This is what has been happening alarmingly to water resources in the Amazon region. In this context, the aim of this study is to characterise the nictemeral variation of some limnological parameters and zooplankton in a tropical igarapé in the northern region of Acre, Brazil. The study area is the Canela Fina stream, located in the rural area of Cruzeiro do Sul - Acre. Through field inspection, the following limnological parameters were measured: temperature (°C), pH, turbidity (UNT), electrical conductivity (¿S.cm¿¹) and dissolved oxygen (%) and total phosphorus (mg.L¿¹) were determined in the laboratory from water samples. A total of 13 samples were taken on a 4-hourly nictemeral cycle. Zooplankton communities are bioindicators of water quality as they are directly influenced by biotic and abiotic conditions and can be very useful in research into the impact of pollutants on communities.

This book deals with working with discursive genres as an instrument for developing reading and writing skills. Based on her experience as a Pedagogical Coordinator, the author observed the low performance of students in reading and writing, and the lack of support materials for teachers. The research resulted in this book, which seeks to contribute to didactic work with reading and written production of adventure narratives. In it you will find a characterisation of the adventure narrative discursive genre and proposals for didactic sequences of reading and written production of this genre that take into account the skills required for its successful execution. It presents a selection of eight adventure narratives suitable for the classroom because they represent the genre well and deal with interesting stories; a characterisation of this genre in its socio-communicative, linguistic and textual organisation dimensions (in its rhetorical movements), so that the elements of the genre that deserve the teacher's attention are well established; and teaching sequences for reading and writing that are viable for the classroom.

The author starts from the categorical statement that any dismissal without cause is a legally discriminatory act and, therefore, unconstitutional and null and void. Thus, he re-signifies terms such as dignity and discrimination in a strictly legal sense and, at the same time, he elaborates and elucidates the central concept of "objective discrimination", indicating which are the essential elements for its configuration. In this effort, he lays the foundations and starting points for a general theory of human rights, which will serve as a cornerstone for future jurisprudence and, perhaps, for a legislative reform, which the author considers necessary for the legal protection of human rights in general and of specific labor human rights, such as the right "to work" and to "job stability". Finally, the initial scientific thesis is confirmed, according to which any dismissal without cause is a discriminatory act, since, having as objective and real cause, the condition of employee of any subordinate worker, yes and only yes, it will be detrimental to the value of dignity, understood as the supreme end-value of human fulfillment.

The 155-C A/B/C heat exchangers, belonging to an olefins plant, which heat the water used in reboilers of some fractionation columns, have historically presented energy efficiency problems due to fouling by polymerization in the tubes, the side through which the process water passes. This was used as a basis for simulating different mechanical models in Aspen EDR, taking into account the fouling problem in the conceptual design criteria. The book contains a brief description of the plant process, with emphasis on the system to which the equipment in question belongs; a summary of the basic theoretical fundamentals of shell and tube heat exchanger design; and an introduction to the Aspen Exchanger Design & Rating simulation interface. The original design data, conceptual design criteria, simulation results and procedure are detailed.

We're going to learn about a topic that is so present in the life of every health professional, but which is still little explored: suicide and suicidal ideation. We'll discuss how this field of suicide and suicidal ideation came to be, how important it is in life and for professional activity, and how we should act when faced with this type of demand. I'm sure you've met someone at work, in your family or in your group of friends who has suffered from this problem. People who have complained of anxiety, depression, someone who has been involved with drugs and other mental disorders. If we as health professionals don't delve deeper into this subject, we will come across situations like these in our daily lives and won't know how to act. That's why the content of this book is of fundamental importance for promoting health in the population. By the end, you will have basic information that can guide the early detection of suicidal behaviour, as well as the initial management of people who are at risk and prevention measures. Are you ready? Let's go. Sandra M. P. Conceição. April/2019.

The aim of this study is to present the criteria and characteristics that define contemporary architectural production, especially the aspects related to culture and the social relationship established between the building and the user. The concepts of phenomenology, semiotics, identity and language are presented, establishing an intrinsic link with architecture and the production of space. The behavior and housing choices of the contemporary population are exposed. Works by architects who work with phenomenology in their projects are cited, presenting their own characteristics in relation to use, the tastes of clients/users and the relationship with the immediate environment, with an emphasis on symbolism and representations. With the case study (Vila Matilde house) it was possible to analyze the phenomenological interfaces of a contemporary housing project, awarded for its design solution and constructive quality. It concludes with an analysis of the case study and a presentation of the phenomenological criteria of contemporary housing architecture observed in the Vila Matilde house.

When talking about education, it frames a paradigm where countless situations converge in which a better formative use is sought. This is how the demands of the new millennium lead to the integration and appropriation of technologies in educational processes, in order to enhance the capabilities and skills of students in an autonomous and cooperative manner, where it becomes indispensable as a means to appropriate knowledge and transform our teaching practices. This book is based on the premises of the MEN of Colombia (2012), related to transforming educational practices through situated training processes; which requires recognizing the context where these practices are developed to identify situations that affect learning and develop the capacities of its actors, to undertake school improvement initiatives. In this sense, the work acquires theoretical value, given the contributions and the consolidation of knowledge on the conformation of virtual learning communities that arise from the reflective analysis of teaching practices in an educational institution.

With the variety of metal alloys available today, it is extremely important to have detailed knowledge of their mechanical properties so that there are no mistakes in their applications. Among these properties is hardenability, which is assessed using the Jominy Test, currently standardised by ASTM A255-10. This test provides graphical data in a curve called the Jominy Curve. The hardenability of a steel consists of its ability to transform into martensite, the microconstituent with the greatest mechanical strength capable of being formed in this alloy. The formation of martensite depends on the chemical composition and microstructure of the austenite for transformation outside the thermodynamic equilibrium conditions (cooling rate), exploiting this, during the Jominy test a variation in hardness is produced along the specimen. By means of statistical calculations, this software constructs the Jominy Curve graph from the input of data on the chemical composition of the alloy of the ferrous materials (steel) that are subjected to the test. It also offers a comparison between the calculated and experimental values and the generation of PDF reports.

We analyze four synthesized well-being indexes and their respective relevance for the elaboration of rankings of Latin American countries. In recent years, different multidimensional measures of well-being, which include both objective and subjective aspects, have been generated from central countries to compare the situation and evolution of countries. The analysis shows that most of them are based on a broad concept of well-being, such as Sen's capabilities approach, although the number of dimensions and indicators differs in each proposal. On the other hand, when analyzing Kendall's Tau B and Spearman's Rho correlations, it is observed that the Latin American rankings differ substantially between each of these proposals. In this sense, taking the Human Development Index as a reference measure of objective well-being and the Satisfaction with Average Life Satisfaction as a reference measure of subjective well-being, the great dispersion of results is verified. We conclude on the importance of elaborating particular welfare measures for each nation.

This book carries out a bibliographical review of resources, means and possibilities for including computer programming in the pedagogical curricula of basic education, with the aim of motivating these educational establishments to incorporate creation and authoring software into educational activities, as a way of cooperating diametrically with the stimulation of logical reasoning and encouraging interest in the area of exact sciences, which is so lacking in professionals. Various software and websites are analyzed that combine sounds and images to create animated explanations and challenges. Successful examples are highlighted of educational establishments that have embraced digital literacy, working with programming logic through the use of digital teaching materials. The methodology is based on bibliographical research, with a qualitative approach and an exploratory objective. As a result, this work proposes an uncomplicated and objective system for introducing programming languages into basic education, demonstrating that high and expensive financial resources are not necessary for technological literacy to take place.
