Traumatic Brain Injury is an injury of a non-degenerative or congenital nature, caused by an aggression or initiated by a process of high-energy acceleration or deceleration of the brain within the skull, which generates anatomical damage or functional impairment of the scalp, skull, meninges or encephalon. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a condition that affects people's quality of life. Many of these patients may develop respiratory failure, requiring endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation. The aim of this study was to analyze the neurophysiopathology of patients affected by traumatic brain injury. The sample included 20 patients with severe TBI in the ICU of a hospital.

In order to adequately tackle the main problems and challenges facing public health, it is essential to have knowledge of the health situation and its determinants and conditioning factors peculiar to each territory. This understanding can guide future public policies aimed at remedying structural, organisational and work process problems in health, in terms of policy, work and health care management. In view of the importance of delimiting geographical space for studying the public health of a population, an analysis was made of the public health situation in the municipality of Goiânia (Goiás) during the period of its foundation (1933) and in the years that followed. The details of the public health situation in the municipality of Goiânia at the time of its foundation constitute a solid and faithful portrait of the intricacies that led to the situation of the capital as we see it today. Through this historical review, it is possible to establish a broader understanding of the evolution of Public Health in the city, which is fundamental in obtaining a clear outline of the health context.

This work is based on the profiles found in students of popular acoustic bass and classical acoustic bass, with the aim of understanding these different profiles by looking at the musical experience of students at the music school in Brasilia. From this research we can see that musicians from both areas have had a similar musical experience. To reach this conclusion, the work used a questionnaire about what the student listens to on a daily basis.

To this end, it is up to the scientific researcher to present the benefits of promoting IP and to plant in the right minds the desire for knowledge and investment in such a promising subject. The book addresses the relationship between criminal law and fundamental rights from the perspective of the principle of proportionality. It should be emphasised, however, that the focus given to this principle is on one of its 'faces', namely the principle of the prohibition of insufficient protection. It also deals with what is known as guarantorism, addressing not only its negative side, which is better known and sometimes seen as the only one, but also its positive side, which is not so widespread, but whose application is gaining strength in Brazilian doctrine and jurisprudence.

There is a special bond between local people and nature. Because of this link, these populations have managed to become familiar with their natural environment over generations, to develop unique practices and to perpetuate traditional knowledge in the preservation of biodiversity. It turns out that its knowledge is underestimated and not taken into account in governance policies for the biocultural diversity of protected areas (national parks). This despite the existence of mechanisms for the involvement of local communities in the said spaces. Our study questions the consideration of local populations in the Ivindo National Park in the Ogooué-Ivindo province in Gabon.

The central theme of this research is the contemporary international system. In the quest to better understand this dynamic environment, we looked for historical phenomena that would help us understand its formation. To this end, we selected three characteristics of the international system and three historical episodes to analyse. These were: the principle of sovereignty and the peace of Westphalia; the nation state and the liberal revolutions of the 19th century; and the "new world order" and the period after the Second World War. By studying the origins of the International System, we can gain a more contextualised understanding of its elements. Instead of seeing the International System as a consequence of fate, we come to understand it as a historical construction. International politics is dynamic and contemporary changes can look to past phenomena for similar aspects. This makes it possible to identify inputs for more complete analyses of conjunctures.

This work deals with the participation of Christians in liberation struggles in Latin America during the 1970s and 1980s, specifically in the countries of Nicaragua and El Salvador. It analyses the emergence of Liberation Theology in Latin America, the dialogue between Marxism and Christianity and the positions taken by the Catholic Church in these contexts. In the case of Nicaragua, the work of the priest and poet Ernesto Cardenal, a member of the Sandinista Front and of the popular government that won in 1979, is used as a source. In El Salvador, we look at the dictatorial context and the resistance built up by the Basic Ecclesial Communities, using the experience of Dom Oscar Romero and his speeches to understand the process experienced in the country. The aim is to recover the memory of the resistance and struggles of the Latin American peoples in the face of dependent capitalism and US imperialism, and to problematise the role of the Catholic Church in this context.

This research was carried out to finalise the undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the Federal University of Rondônia - UNIR. The aim was to identify the entrepreneurial profile of students on the Business Administration course, analysing their entrepreneurial characteristics through the application of McClelland's questionnaire, with theoretical bases from the most renowned authors of Entrepreneurial Theories. Alfonso X was born in Toledo in 1221. He ascended the throne in 1252 after the death of his father, Ferdinand III, and endeavoured to follow the same policy as his predecessors. Among the important works produced in the Afonsino scriptorium, we highlight the collection of Marian miracles entitled Cantigas de Santa Maria. Following the king's universalist tendency, the Afonsino collection constitutes the richest Marian songbook of the Middle Ages.

This study looks at images of learning in the context of psychology training. The aim of the research is to find out about aspects of the trajectories of psychology training in Sobral; to find out about significant moments of learning during the course; and to understand what images of learning the student creates as a result. This demand arises from the need to think of psychology training as a significant process in the life of the student, who from this scenario produces ways of relating to the course and the profession. The problematisation of the Psychology training process is built on dialogue with Chauí, Bernardes, Passos, Larrosa and Nietzsche, who outline ways of thinking about the ideas of training and the university, as well as pointing out the effects of these notions on contemporary educational processes. In creating this regime of visibility that accompanies training and the production of knowledge, there is also a dialogue with Lev Vygotsky and Virginia Kastrup, who problematise learning and support innovations for meaningful learning in psychology training.

Construction waste accounts for more than half of all urban waste collected, causing a major environmental impact mainly due to the large quantities generated. Concern for the environment is gaining ground in a number of different areas, and construction could not be any different. Even with technological advances and the modernisation of construction techniques, the generation of waste is inevitable. Therefore, utilising construction waste again in the building industry is an excellent option that not only reduces the amount of rubble generated, but also cuts down on the extraction of raw materials. The research was carried out with the aim of evaluating the influence of using construction waste as a partial substitute for coarse and fine aggregates in the production of concrete.

Land use can be understood as the way in which geographical space is being occupied by human beings and their activities in it. Land management practices and forms of land use have a major impact on ecosystems and natural resources including water and soil. Information on land use can be used to develop solutions for managing problems related to natural resources such as water quality. Surveying land use is of great importance, as the disorderly occupation of land causes deterioration of the environment.

The monograph by Hungarian economist György Szymon Jr. analyzes the main processes of the post-war economic development of the Soviet Union. The theoretical framework of his study includes, in addition to the works of the classics of Marxism-Leninism, mainly neoclassical and endogenous models of economic growth. The author pays special attention to key issues of economic policy and Soviet-American rivalry. Econometric analysis of the development of the national economy of the USSR in the period 1950-1990 was conducted primarily using the so-called general, or world model. The Congolese constitution of 2006 instituted political decentralization as the new form of the Congolese state, characterized by the separation of power which does not, however, exclude dialogue and consultation between the two levels of government. Unfortunately, the concentration of power as a way of managing the previous regime will lead decision-makers in power to leave themselves open to unconstitutionality.Furthermore, the constitutional revision of January 20, 2011 represents a headlong rush away from the spirit of decentralization and the subsequent destruction of the relationship between central power and the provinces. The unconstitutional practice of centralizing the governance of the State has multiplied, highlighting the political challenge of applying the February 18, 2006 constitution.The trend was confirmed by the adoption of the law on provincial self-government and, above all, the constitutional revision of January 20, 2011. In particular, this legalized and constitutionalized direct political control by central government over the provinces.

The evaluation of public policies and programmes has been pointed out in the literature as being capable of supporting the formulation of government interventions, the control of their execution, the adjustments that are necessary and, finally, the decision between maintaining or interrupting actions. It is therefore a significant mechanism for making public spending more efficient and for better management and control of the effectiveness of state action. Against this backdrop, this book aims to evaluate the Science without Borders Programme (CsF) from the perspective of scholarship holders from Federal Higher Education Institutions in the city of Montes Claros-MG. This recent experience of the internationalisation of higher education in Brazil, manifested by the CsF Programme, despite presenting benefits that have already materialised and potential, also points to deficiencies that need to be resolved. This research opens up a reflection at micro level, on the processes and impacts of the Science without Borders Programme (CsF) specifically, and at macro level, with regard to higher education internationalisation policies in Brazil.

The Upper Okpara Basin, which was the subject of this research, is experiencing severe degradation of the vegetation cover, which is one of the most important elements of the environmental system. The main objective of this research is to identify the different causes of spatio-temporal changes in vegetation according to agricultural stakeholders in the upper Okpara basin. The methodological approach adopted for this research is based on a participatory approach and the admission of a questionnaire in the field. The stakeholders surveyed were farmers, herders and loggers. A total of 354 people were surveyed and determined using the method of D. Schwartz (1995). People's perceptions of the determinants of spatio-temporal changes in vegetation were analyzed using the parameters of A. Byg and H. Balsley and CFA.

The aim of this book is to analyse the legal and procedural unfeasibility of the institute of "desaposentação", i.e. renouncing a retirement pension in order to apply for a new, more advantageous benefit. To this end, it was necessary to examine the origin and concept of Social Security, as well as the types of retirement existing in the current Brazilian legal system. In addition, it was also necessary to analyse in detail the concept of disaposentation and then the main arguments that guide the discussion of the matter, including those used in the main judgement of the Federal Supreme Court - STF on the subject, promoting a systemic examination within the current social security and constitutional framework. Using comparative law, the solution given by Spanish legislation to the specific case was presented, identifying the possibility or not of its application in the Brazilian legal scenario.

Constitutional Amendment 87/2015, with its main effect of altering the ICMS on interstate transactions, has changed part of the work routine carried out by accounting professionals, making it necessary for them to update their knowledge about the ICMS rate differential and its effects on transactions involving goods. A questionnaire was applied to map the profiles of professionals, classifying and testing the knowledge of accounting professionals. Once this had happened, various professional profiles were identified; there was an increase in the number of bachelor accountants, explained by the end of the registration of technical professionals. Based on this information, the question arises as to whether the accounting professionals in the Teófilo Otoni-MG micro-region are able to carry out their activities in line with their knowledge of the changes imposed by the tax authorities, which proved to be quite satisfactory considering that a large proportion of these professionals have not taken part in any preparatory activities for these changes.

In recent years, the global economy has been hit by a series of scandals. This series of scandals, in turn, calls for reflection on the management and organization of companies, and on the relationships between those who manage them and those who own them . This is why we have chosen to reflect on the theme: "the application of the principles of good corporate governance within the WAEMU: the case of companies listed on the BRVM". This research was carried out with the aim of verifying the importance of the criminological examination in the prison sphere. This parameter is used to get to know the prison population in order to understand it psychologically and its impact on Brazilian law. In order to gain a better understanding of the subject, six histories of convicts recognised in Brazil for committing heinous crimes were selected, and they were broken down into relevant and non-relevant cases.
