Palliative care is care that goes beyond the physical needs and pain relief of patients at the end of their lives. It is humanised care with a focus on the patient's quality of life, addressing emotional, spiritual and family aspects. Nursing professionals play an important role in palliative care in oncology, as they are the ones who remain by the patient's side most of the time, as well as supporting family members and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary health team.

In the current context, when issues related to the preservation of natural resources and technological alternatives that make it possible to produce food from a sustainable approach are being debated worldwide, the rescue of practices and management of traditional production systems has been proposed as a strategy to overcome the socio-economic and environmental crisis that has been fuelled since the 1970s. In this context, agroecology has been presented as a science that allows scientific knowledge to be combined with the age-old empirical knowledge of traditional communities, family farmers, extractivists, riverside dwellers and indigenous people accumulated over decades from cultivation in diversified production systems with an approach that can be considered ecological. The aim was to identify the different agroforestry arrangements, practices and management developed by farmers in the Médio Maracá region - Maracá Agro-Extractivist Settlement Project, Mazagão/AP. The study concludes that, despite the limits imposed by the development model historically adopted, SAF has been the socio-economic and environmental support for farmers.

This material was initially produced as a technical manual to support a specialised outpatient clinic in a psychiatry residency service in the city of São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, Brazil. After being publicised at a local scientific event, it was proposed for publication and became a book. Through concise approaches, it brings together relevant information that is extremely important for the daily clinical practice of psychiatrists who treat patients with refractory schizophrenia.

This book analyses the origins of international law in Latin America, taking as its cradle the legal constructions inaugurated at the Congress of Panama in 1826. Although some of the literature considers the First Pan-American Conference, held in Washington in 1889, to be the initial milestone of the American legal system, we will show that the Congress of Panama laid the foundations for the construction and strengthening of Regional International Law and enshrined relevant principles that are today considered to be pillars of the International Legal Order.

Dear Reader! Please know that I am very grateful and pleased that you took the time to read my book. It is the result of my great fascination with Public Law, the environment in which transindividual rights are included. I wrote about what most fascinated me in legal science because, according to my research, despite being characterised as a new and relevant area of law, they still don't have the most appropriate space to develop, within a circle of debate that is suited to stimulating them and spreading them more widely. I have worked hard to ensure that my work is as technical and mature as possible, and I have it as the result of my studies and personal determination. So publicising it is not only a victory but also a great responsibility. I hope you get as much out of the content as possible and that this debate doesn't end with us, but can be extended along paths that lead you to realise Subjective Law, as a way of contributing to justice and pacifying the specific case. As a result, this book investigated waste on site and found that the main wastes were defective products (expired products), unnecessary handling and unnecessary processing. In view of this, the aim was to improve the company's logistics system by modelling and simulating a proposed flow rack stock structure, which achieved a significant reduction in the area used of approximately 35% and consequently reduced the aforementioned waste. In this way, it can be concluded that the application of stock management techniques and layout changes to reduce waste is indeed beneficial for organisations and that this was proven in the case study using a medicines distributor.

The Schools of Government have gained prominence in Brazil as a result of the so-called managerialist reform of the state, which began mainly in 1995, with the formal aim of improving the professional qualifications of public bureaucrats. This book analyses a school at sub-national level, the Paraíba State Public Service School (ESPEP), in order to reflect on the extent to which it relates to the reformist assumptions.

Local Productive Arrangements (LPAs) are spatially distributed within a well-defined region, so regional identity is important in studies aimed at understanding the factors that determine their consolidation and development. Indeed, the regional identity of the actors is an important element to be considered in their willingness to co-operate and associate with other actors, as well as engage in actions aimed at promoting regional development. The aim of this research was to see how regional identity manifests itself in LPAs. To this end, six LPAs located in the Divinópolis micro-region, situated in the Centre-West region of the state of Minas Gerais / Brazil, were considered. This is an instrumental multiple case study. Evidence for the study was obtained through interviews with stakeholders, on-site observations and document analysis. It was concluded that the concept of regional identity is applicable to studies whose purpose is to identify factors that contribute to understanding the processes of maintenance and development of LPAs, contributing to studies aimed at regional development.

Knowledge management seeks to value its intangible assets, i.e. its professionals, through practices and processes that encourage the creation and sharing of knowledge at all levels of the organisation. Through knowledge management actions, the company contributes to the development of the organisation, its people and, consequently, their professional careers. In order to face a competitive market, it is necessary to manage intangible assets effectively, and using the organisation's knowledge strategically can lead to a competitive advantage in the market. The aim of this study is to identify the contribution of knowledge management actions at the Brazilian Human Resources Association of Rio Grande do Sul in building the professional careers of its employees.

Technological globalisation at the start of the 21st century has intensified the competitiveness of industry, even for companies in hard-to-reach regions that were previously protected from global competition. This paper describes a methodology for increasing operational efficiency in a small automotive gear industry by reducing machine setup times. A descriptive and analytical study of the factory analysed was carried out in four stages: (1st) a detailed analysis of the gear production processes; (2nd) a study of the operation of the milling machine in gear production; (3rd) an analysis of the gear milling process; (4th) a complete study of the milling machine setup times and movements during production. A detailed spreadsheet of times and movements was obtained, from which a proposal was drawn up to reduce setup time, as in Shingo (2000) adapted by Souza (2009). The conclusion is that the methodology is viable in other small metalworking industries, since it was possible to reduce the average setup time of the milling machine by 38.6%, at practically zero cost, bringing benefits in the short and long term.

The development model based on mass tourism adopted from the 1980s onwards on the coast of the Northeast, and specifically on the coast of Ceará, led to numerous conflicts with local populations. These rifts were the genesis of resistance movements and community mobilisation in these areas. It is in this context that community tourism emerged. Treated by some as true sustainable tourism, it brings the valorisation of cultural identity and the generation of direct benefits for the community to the centre of planning, making it possible to give the local population itself greater decision-making power. But does this happen in practice? Analysing grassroots tourism and its participatory management as a strategy for achieving sustainable development has become necessary and is the main objective here. There is also a review of the theoretical framework that builds the concept of sustainability itself, as well as an outline and correlation between the development of coastal tourism in Ceará and the emergence of community-based tourism. Finally, one of the 15 communities that develop grassroots tourism in Ceará was chosen for analysis because of its pioneering spirit: the Batoque RESEX.

Costs are determining factors in the sales price of products and/or services. Identifying costs that are not controlled by accounting can make organisations more competitive, helping management to identify, control and make visible apparently hidden costs. In order for institutions to remain competitive, management needs to focus on process efficiency, optimising structures with a view to minimising costs. Tracking, identifying and comparatively analysing the most frequent hidden costs associated with hotel services are unavoidable measures for the correct management of organisations.

This book is a scientifically based work rich in psychological and emotional content that will undoubtedly serve as a reference in many future studies in the area of human behaviour and teaching-learning methods, taking into account the psychological behaviour of teachers. It investigated the nature of dissatisfaction among 5th to 9th grade teachers in four schools, 61 teachers, mostly female, aged between 21 and 62. This is in line with the objectives of the research, which sought to identify the correlation between teacher dissatisfaction and the age range of the clientele between 10 and 14 years old. The results are surprising, signalling poor management of affective content on the part of the teachers, with 33% pointing to feelings of discouragement as a consequence of job dissatisfaction due to student disinterest. It opens up avenues for future research, considering the three-dimensionality involving schools/teachers/families. The book is based on research for a Master's Dissertation in Human Resources Psychology and Knowledge Management, plus clinical case reports and professional experience.

Harold Bloom has become an iconic figure in Literary Criticism in recent decades, especially when he rebelled against North American academia, where he saw the development of a self-centred exercise in literary criticism, which often lost sight of its object of study - literary works. In defence of literature, Bloom attacked the Deconstruction of his Yale colleagues, as well as the theoretical fashions of recent decades, such as Neo-historicism and Neo-Marxism. The Anguish of Prometheus traces common traits throughout Bloom's intellectual trajectory towards a broader theorisation on the nature of Literary Criticism and the reception of its bibliography.

In the DRC, and particularly in the province of Kongo Central, one of the major problems facing agriculture is the occupation of large tracts of land by concessionaires under the emphyteusis system. However, much of this land is either never developed or in a state of abandonment. The aim of this study is therefore to evaluate, on an economic basis, the profitability of an agroforestry project that meets the specific needs of concessionaires for guidance in developing their concessions, while involving the local community.The agroforestry project proposed as part of this study involves an investment spread over 3 years, with two agroforestry models. The first aims to create an acacia forest for beekeeping and honey production, and the second to produce fruit of sustainable economic importance, over a total area of 20 hectares.

This paper aims to reflect on the relationship between wars and humanity. We will emphasise three essential points that make up this conflictual relationship: human nature, fear and disillusionment. Human nature in conflict can be related to waging war, because if we find differences, inequalities, in our societies, civilisations, war ends up being the result of this unequal essence of ours, because we end up tending towards conflict. In the second part, we'll look at the tension of fear as an ever-present factor in war. Finally, we reflect on how war brings us deep disillusionment, and this fact is well observed in our 20th century, with the most destructive wars we have witnessed.

This study sought to understand how the differences between rewards influence the perception of fairness at work and the motivation of civil servants and commissioners of the Court of Auditors of the State of Alagoas - TCE/AL. The research provides important insights for public managers into how motivation and reward equity can improve the performance and satisfaction of civil servants and commissioned staff. This is an exploratory, bibliographical and case study, and in terms of its nature it is classified as a qualitative study. It can therefore be said that there are differences between the rewards received by civil servants and commissioned staff at the Alagoas Court of Auditors, and this means that civil servants are aware of the value attributed to their work in relation to what is practised within the group, as well as the differences in rewards directly interfering in the motivation of civil servants and commissioned staff. However, this lack of motivation may, in many cases, be associated with a lack of opportunities for career progression, recognition and appreciation of their work by the managers in charge of the body.

Understanding madness as a social construction, throughout Western history we have seen the various ways used to segregate those considered unproductive and with deviant behaviour, among which mental institutions are a significant example. In this universe, the Neuro-psychiatric Children's Hospital (HNPI), located in the state of Minas Gerais (Brazil), is an archetype whose materiality presents discourses of power. Considering the HNPI as a superfact, in this work I sought to understand, by reading its spatiality, the strategies of disciplining, controlling and curing exercised on the children interned there, many of whom did not even suffer from a mental disorder. Possible experiences and reactions on the part of the children are also addressed, as well as the new uses exercised in this building, which currently houses the Luiz Estrela Common Space.

Central Auditory Processing Syndrome (CAPS) is a disorder with a prevalence of 2-7%. It manifests itself in subjects who, despite having a normal level of hearing, show difficulties in adequately processing what they hear. The aim is to offer a frame of reference for the syndrome from a Neuropsychological perspective, with assessment and treatment instruments for professionals.

As a social institution, schools have undergone various changes over time. The basic principle of the school institution is the socialisation of elaborate knowledge for all citizens, however, it is known that there are those for whom the school was not designed for them, for example psychotic children, in this sense, it becomes relevant to understand how the school can welcome the psychotic child guaranteeing the right to education that verses in the constitution. The aim of this study was to understand how it is possible to include psychotic children in school, with the psychology professional mediating, whose training is based on the theoretical framework of Gestalt therapy. The research presented here is qualitative, exploratory and bibliographical in nature. Several sources were used to carry out the research, including books, articles, magazines and other periodicals. In general, the school system and the inclusion of psychotic children in this context were highlighted.

The Nahua peoples had the best public education as a structure of the Mesoamerican peoples, their way of speaking of a pedagogy was through a term coined by themselves and that only concerned the human being. They are called Nahuatl or Nahua peoples, to those who lived around the Valley of Mexico, which were united by the same Nahuatl language. For such peoples life was very abstract and the great ideals of the Nahua peoples revolved around forging wise faces and firm hearts, in the course of time that goes from life to death; their religious beliefs and rituals, their educational system, their moral norms and the already mentioned world of art in continuous creative evolution, which brought with it an authentic Nahuatl sense of life and of the human being. The education of human beings for the Nahua is considered as one of the highest objectives of men. It is known that education is the means of communicating to new human beings the experience and intellectual heritage of previous generations.

Through qualitative, ethnographic research, this paper aims to analyse how 4th grade primary school teachers emphasise with their students the study and analysis of monuments that are part of the cultural heritage of the municipality of Ivoti. In this way, students can understand how buildings should be cared for and valued, so that succeeding generations can "feast their eyes" on the local culture that will be preserved. Throughout the chapters, I give a brief history of the arrival of the Germans in the municipality, the theories covered in the classroom on heritage education, and the criteria used to organise heritage listings.

This book reviews general aspects related to probiotics and prebiotics for animal health, the most used microorganisms and the mechanisms of action described for such effects. It also deals with the most commonly used compounds as prebiotics in animals, emphasizing the results obtained with the use of oligosaccharides such as beta-glucans and fructans in the improvement of health and bioproductive indicators in production conditions.

"The use of judicial activism in the realisation of social rights" is the result of arduous research into articles, books and other important literary productions on the subject in an attempt to understand the complexity of using the institute to grant fundamental rights, especially social rights, and to guarantee an existential minimum for society. Focusing on public safety, the work seeks to understand the reality of this social right in Rio Grande do Norte and explore whether, in the face of an individualised situation and aware of the numbers of violence, it is possible for the judge to interfere in public policies in the name of efficiency in the Administration and, at the same time, maintain a proper synergy with the other Powers.

In September 2022, the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China adopted the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of an All-Weather and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which contains the Belarusian-Chinese agreements to intensify scientific and technical cooperation, expand practical interaction between research institutes, higher education institutions and enterprises, and encourage the establishment of platforms as joint centers of applied scientific research and laboratories. At the same time, the development of bilateral relations has moved to a new stage, where interaction in the field of innovation has been continuously strengthened. In this regard, three priority components can be identified. The first is in the field of scientific research, where the parties are involved in the implementation of major joint projects. The second is in the field of innovation, where a network of joint innovation centers and scientific laboratories is being formed and developed. The third one is in the field of education, where joint training and mutual internships of specialists, teachers and students take place. What steps are being taken in these areas both in Belarus and China? We will discuss them in this study.

An accomplice look or a spontaneous smile between two passers-by is no less than the contempt for a statue or the social and media conflict over its removal or demolition. Many times walking through a place we do not perceive its historical construction. And the fact is that every space is a mental as well as a physical, ideological as well as political construction. To live the city is to be part of it, to fight for it, to breathe its air or listen to its voices is to be impregnated by it. These pages attempt to address these experiences and perceptions.

And today, on this day, our graduates will become part of a society with principles and values, they will become part of a great family that is Mexico, and that day by day, this family contributes something to the country with work, effort, will, commitment and that have made of this land, a vanguard nation. That is why, today, with all these young people, we are once again fulfilling our mission to train human beings with an entrepreneurial spirit, committed to their country, to society and to their families. The present research performs the analysis and evaluation of the effects developed in the health and psychological state faced by the individual when being unemployed, either by the reduction, reorganization or disappearance of organizations, by agreement of both parties, either by the employer and the worker, by decision of the employer, among others in the City of Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico. Its purpose is to achieve the welfare of these individuals, ensuring a better quality of life. This inquiry comprises a progressive development of different stages that starts from the background, the bibliographic compilation, the methodology up to the analysis of the results, which allow integrating all the variables. The development of the mentioned inquiry was estimated as a descriptive and analytical research, which involves a non-probabilistic statistic, having quantitative, non-experimental variables.

This special degree work shows how to design a heat exchanger as well as its internals according to international standards, the manual calculation of the heat exchanger dimensions was performed and additionally it was simulated with the Hysys simulator version 7.2. One of the most difficult steps for the manual calculation is the Global Heat Transfer Coefficient "U", in this work we show how to calculate it since it is done through an "Iteration" method to find the necessary area to satisfy the requirements demanded by the client. We hope to instruct designers or students by means of the developed procedure since in many occasions when making this type of calculations there are an endless number of unknown variables that this book shows the way to follow to reach the results.

This book is a training proposal for hospital volunteer dancers using Venezuelan dance as a pedagogical strategy. The central idea is to "dance with the patient" from the space where the patient is. It uses the scheme of music and dance by colors as a guide to shape the work sessions. It also relies on psychoneuroimmunological strategies taken from psychology and health education such as focusing, visualization and relaxation techniques in accordance with the historical thread of the disease: how the patient was before getting sick, how he/she perceives him/herself now that he/she is sick and how he/she wants to see him/herself in the future healthy. Venezuelan dance is taken as a pedagogical resource because it includes all dance genres, music, theater, singing and oral and scenic narration, which makes it suitable for the patient to choose for body work the piece of his liking and can take home his work scheme to exercise in favor of the recovery of his physical and mental health.
