By studying the tiles that decorate the Franciscan Convents of Olinda and Recife, both from the 17th and 18th centuries, it is possible to understand how this asset,which is part of Brazil's cultural heritage, stands out for its historical and aesthetic values, and how difficult it is to read all or part of certain historicised figurative panels. In this way, the current condition of the panels is analysed in relation to natural and/or anthropic interference in an attempt to identify the situations that make it impossible to read them.

The book PRACTICES IN MYCOLOGY: FROM CONCEPT TO LABORATORY, in its first edition, shows the need for greater knowledge of mycoses in the state of Piauí, with the intention of greater academic enrichment. It covers everything from fungal biology to clinical interpretation. The chapters were written with the help of health professional collaborators, who dedicated themselves to writing the book. It is therefore hoped that the book will contribute to knowledge and improvement in the field of mycoses.

In the main culture sections of Brazilian newspapers, the review is commonly referred to as a "critique", in a historical and symbolic allusion to traditional literary criticism, whose origins date back to the 17th century. A look at Literary Theory and its extensive studies makes us realise the significant difference between the two discursive compositions. While the former is confined to the literary field, the latter brings together important characteristics of its original field, journalism. Undergraduate courses and writing manuals do not help to deepen knowledge about the nature and purpose of the book review, as well as most journalistic genres that do not essentially deal with facts and events, reflecting on the way journalism students and professionals understand and work with the respective texts in the classroom and in their production routines. This book analyses the book review in contrast to literary criticism, with the aim of differentiating and delimiting them conceptually, so as to consider the book review published in newspapers and news magazines as a topical journalistic discursive composition, as being the newspaper's criticism.

The relevance of the problem is due to the fact that any production requires water treatment, water purification, separation or mixing of various substances. In the main industries due to high efficiency and simplicity of organization ion-exchange methods of water purification from undesirable impurities, usually on synthetic high-polymer ionites, have become widespread.Numerous variants of apparatus-technological design allow rational organization of the technology of ion-exchange materials application. The monograph focuses on the issues of raw material source for obtaining new ion-exchange materials (ionites, ion-exchange membranes) on the basis of available and secondary products of production and consumption.Separate attention is paid to the improvement of the classifier of commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity by classification and identification of qualitative indicators of chemical products - ion-exchange materials and secondary raw materials for their production.

This work consists of end-of-course research, and refers to farmers in the city of São João do Sul, specifically those who grow tobacco, with a focus on the decades from the 1960s to the 1990s, a period when tobacco cultivation reached its peak in the region. In the research, I work with some works that deal with this cultivation, works that talk about labour relations, but oral sources are the richest and from which the author obtains essential information for his research.

This book presents the results of the construction and implementation of a teaching and learning sequence on Kepler's laws, their relationship with Newton's laws and their respective application in the classical description of the motion of asteroids in the Solar System. It is evidenced that the activities proposed and implemented in an astronomy workshop in a district educational institution in the city of Bogota, contributed to a better understanding of the topics addressed in the classroom and some of the difficulties that persist in the group are identified and are input to redesign the sequence. On the other hand, in order to provide students and the general public with a context on the importance of identifying asteroids in the Solar System, the citizen science project on the search for asteroids of the International Collaboration - IASC is linked. Regarding the disciplinary part, an optimization of the Gaussian method for orbit determination is proposed, it is found that the proposed method estimates asteroid orbits in accordance with those determined by JPL-NASA.

In this book, students from the Pharmacy degree course at the FBV-Wyden University Centre (Recife/PE) analyse the role of hospital pharmacists in different areas. The ten chapters cover topics such as pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical care, medication errors, clinical pharmacy, medicines management and purchasing, as well as the indiscriminate use of antimicrobials in hospitals and pharmaceutical care for patients with Alzheimer's disease.

The diversity of content covered during the didactic unit tries to cover the gap presented by Silva (2003): -....the subject -fish ¿ is presented in a superficial way, disregarding important aspects about the ecology of the group and its implications for the balance of ecosystems. There is a need to expand the space dedicated to the subject and the authors should seek information from specific literature on ichthyology, zoology and ecology to correct the conceptual problems encountered.....¿.

The book provides important information for choosing the most appropriate imaging test for diagnosing root fractures, with the aim of making the reader learn more about the details that make Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) a method that has revolutionised dental radiology in a fascinating way. CBCT is currently the most accurate test for identifying root fractures when compared to other imaging methods, as it allows for a more accurate diagnosis of this pathology and an assessment of its severity. By explaining how Cone Beam Computed Tomography works, it was shown that, despite some limitations, it is of paramount importance in the dental field and may be the ideal alternative, guaranteeing dental surgeons an accurate diagnosis and avoiding the failure of dental treatment for this purpose.

"For the generous, seeking out those who receive is a greater joy than giving (...) and what greater merit is there than that which lies in the courage and trust, even more so, in the charity of receiving? Virtual law is law that arises from virtual practices, but it is also positive law that can be applied to the virtual. It also includes the right to cyberspace, as it also covers the right to information. This new legal branch corresponds to the set of rules aimed at protecting human relations and behavioural violations in digital environments. In other words, if people use technology to send and receive information, conduct business, express opinions, etc., there must be rules and principles to guide behaviour in this environment.

It is a very prevalent problem and can cause disability. More than 90 per cent of the world's population suffers from low back pain at some point in their lives and low back pain is the second most frequent cause of seeking medical attention. Low back pain can be defined as pain in the lumbar region, i.e. the lower part of the spine near the pelvis. It is also known as "lumbago", "back pain", "kidney pain" or "pain in the quarters". The pain can extend to the buttocks, the back of the thighs, but not much further than the knee, without compromising a specific nerve path.

Within the national context of recognising rural black communities as remaining quilombos, this paper seeks to analyse how the Onze Negras Quilombola Community, located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, in the metropolitan region of Recife, is going to revisit its past and build a new collective memory as a result of the recognition process, based on the importance of the narrative of its history, understood as its heritage, which constitutes a tool for legitimisation and political and social insertion. The community's history is intertwined with the life of Maria de Fátima Silva, a community leader and one of those most responsible for its recognition. Her story, as representative of the others, provides an insight into the process of urbanisation in the region as the Suape Port Industrial Complex grew and, above all, illustrates the transformations that black communities have undergone in the context of compensatory public policies.

The first study analyses, from a legal perspective, the narrative of the short story "Ideias do Canário", published in 1899 by Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis. The text demonstrates, in an original and ironic way, the possibility of multiple and different perceptions of the same reality, with the various shades of truth varying according to the subjective understanding of those who describe them. The second article deals with the Theory of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Guarantees developed by Professor Luigi Ferrajoli, which has often been severely criticised by supporters of the "Criminal Law of the Enemy", "Criminal Abolitionists" and even human rights defenders. The third and final section deals with reading as one of the main tools for individuals to build their knowledge and learn to exercise citizenship, hence the importance of awakening the pleasure of reading in children at the beginning of the knowledge process. It also shows that this work must be done together, with parents, children and teachers, each of whom has a fundamental role to play in building this new reader and improving their learning.

YouTube is considered to be the largest video-sharing site, attracting a diverse group of users who search for the most diverse videos within this environment. This book aims to analyse literary vlogs on the digital social media YouTube. By carrying out the analysis using netnographic methodology (which analyses the behaviour of individuals and social groups on the Internet and the dynamics of these groups in the web environment) we also seek to deduce the possible instrumentalisation of literary vlogs such as these in encouraging and fostering reading through the librarian and the library.

The aim of this research is to analyse the tasks proposed in the teaching of systems of two linear equations with two unknowns, in the 8th grade mathematics textbook, in the light of Duval's theory of semiotic representation registers (2003). This is a qualitative, documentary study. From the analysis we carried out, we realised that the proposed tasks present a variety of registers such as algebraic, natural language and graphical. Tasks that refer to treatments - 64 per cent - are also favoured over conversions - 36 per cent - where there is only coordination in one direction. In this way, we can see that the students solve everything in a mechanical and memorised way, because the proposed tasks suggest it. In our opinion, this may be one of the factors contributing to the student's poor learning performance in maths. According to the theory studied, we can conclude that the tasks proposed in the textbooks should make it easier for the student to co-ordinate the registers; these co-ordinations should occur in both directions. However, we suggest that more tasks should be proposed that refer to conversions in relation to treatments or that there is a balance.

Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a condition characterized by the presence of aberrant, nonspecific fibro-inflammatory tissue forming around retroperitoneal structures, enclosing them to a variable degree. These structures include the abdominal aorta, inferior vena cava and ureters. Although it can have a variety of etiologies, and can therefore be considered secondary, in over 70% of cases it remains idiopathic, and can be associated with a number of systemic pathologies without, however, being a direct consequence. The positive diagnosis of idiopathic PRF is based on the contribution of imaging, essentially computed tomography, on the negativity of the etiological work-up and, in cases of doubt, on histological evidence. The renal complications of PRF can be serious, with the risk of renal failure, particularly obstructive renal failure, and thromboembolic complications. PRF is still a highly controversial condition in terms of its nosological framework, clinical presentations and therapeutic management.

For Frankl, the question of meaning is not merely a philosophical topic for elitist circles of patients. On the contrary, it has vital significance for every man and is therefore not conditioned by age or gender, cultural background or intellectual training. Every man asks himself - consciously or unconsciously - about meaning, because he believes in meaning "whether he wants to or not," says Frankl, "and although he may deny it, man believes in meaning to the last breath. The suicidal person also believes in a sense, if not of living, at least of surviving death. If he actually disbelieved in any meaning, he would no longer be able to move a finger." (Uwe Böschemeyer) Based on the statements made by social workers, we can see a human need to be in the world beyond the social conditioning factors, never simply dispensing with them or withdrawing absolutely from the social and cultural world, but managing the meanings attributed to them in this social whole and responding in terms of action and meaning, a search for the meaning of life.

The paper analyzes the use given to the category of unconstitutional state of affairs (ECI) in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Colombia and the Peruvian Constitutional Court, and compares the similarities and differences in the application of the figure in both cases. Complementarily, it analyzes the ECI in the light of the doctrine on strategic litigation, defined as the judicial claim in the form of individual or collective actions that seek the structural transformation of State institutions in pursuit of respect for democratic rights and values enshrined in the Constitutions.

It not only influenced the literary tastes and preferences of the public, but also influenced the very essence and direction of literature. Here is an assessment and criticism on the works of the writers of the "Golden Age". Literary critics act as evaluators and critics of literary works.

The research aims to establish whether there is a direct and significant relationship between management for results (MfR) and budgetary programs (PP) implemented by the Regional Government of Amazonas in the 2016 period. The methodological structure is as follows: (a) approach: quantitative; (b) method: hypothetico-deductive; (c) type of study: non-experimental; (d) design: cross-sectional; (e) scope: exploratory, descriptive and correlational. The sample, of census type, consisted of the entire population (40 employees) of the Planning, Budget, Accounting and Supply areas of the aforementioned regional entity. Two Likert-type questionnaires with the variables "Management for Results" and "Budgetary Programs" were applied to this group. According to Cronbach's Alpha, both surveys (the first with 39 questions and the second with 20 items) have a high level of reliability: 0.962 in the first case, and 0.926 in the second. The results show that there is a correlation of r = 0.770** between the variables of management for results and budgetary programs.

With the advent of technology and access to information, society is demanding more from those in power when it comes to providing quality public services. Today, with the new vision of public service provision, taxpayers need to be treated as customers of these services, and their counter-parties are needed in return for taxes that are increasingly efficient and of superior quality. In any area of public services, society is looking for an improvement in the way they are provided. Taxes are increasingly being monitored by a large proportion of those who no longer want to participate as a passive party, i.e. just be good payers, but now see themselves as "customers", and privatisations, concessions and public-private partnerships can alleviate these symptoms of poor management in which public administration suffers in the country. The citizen is the protagonist and watchdog of this model of public service management, where it materialises in better results in the provision of services to society as a whole, whether they are large-scale such as roads, railways etc. or small daily demands such as issuing personal documents, a well-structured and supervised public-private partnership can help.

The use of information and communication technologies by companies has brought about an important change in the way in which employers and workers interact. On the one hand, the need to protect the investments made for the implementation of mechanisms that allow the optimisation of business activities by establishing controls and, on the other hand, respect for the fundamental rights of workers, especially privacy and intimacy, requires that the conditions under which such controls must be carried out be defined.

With the military-political crisis of 2002, Ivorian cities faced a number of difficulties, including the need for efficient sanitation. The urban environment is degraded and unhealthy. Since 2010, the French government, concerned about the image of the urban landscape and the well-being of the population, has undertaken an emergency presidential program to remedy this problem. As Bouake has benefited from a number of actions and projects, we feel it is necessary to carry out a sanitation analysis in order to assess the scope of urban renewal.

The anthropogenic activities carried out in the municipality of Jataí alter the water quality of the rivers that pass through the urbanised area due to the discharge of treated or in natura sewage, urban drainage, solid waste and even natural processes. Against this backdrop, the water quality of the Claro River, the Queixada Stream and the Jataí Stream was checked using the Water Quality Index (CETESB IQA) verification method. The indices found at the ten collection points studied, in four collection campaigns, were classified as "good", "regular" and "average" water quality. It was also found that the quality parameters BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), Faecal Coliforms, pH and Turbidity did not meet the limits established for Class 2 watercourses in CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 (BRASIL, 2005). In addition, most of the original vegetation in the Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs) of the urban rivers studied has been eliminated and/or replaced by buildings or by some kind of occupation or anthropic use.

This research aims to contribute to the debate on the cultural policy that our country needs in vulnerable contexts. To this end, it will focus on the practices and reflections that exist around community life in the Boca Sur neighbourhood, in the commune of San Pedro de la Paz, Chile. One of the most impoverished sectors of the Province of Concepción. Formed during the dictatorship, it became the emblem of the class-based spatial segregation policies of the time: decongesting cities and eliminating poverty from urban centres. In particular, the research proposes to delve into the cultural discourses and practices that are manifested in different ways and forms in this territory, studying what kind of collectivisation they develop and how each of them challenges the state. In accordance with the above, the Latin American experience of the different urban peripheries will be reviewed in general terms, and a dialogue will be established around the places of memory and heritage preservation that should be relevant to the contexts described.

The study as the conclusion of the "Series on University Teaching" first deals with the fundamental understanding of adult education and continuing education. The further education of teachers as a project is presented. Thus, the tertiary education sector is addressed. Denominational adult education as a continuation of religious education and further education as cultural-religious competence following an education results in a special task of an educational mission. An insight into the author's activities documents a summary of courses in tertiary and quaternary education. The conclusion goes into reflections and an outlook, thus providing a critical examination of the field. Elements form the process of professionalization and continuing education as well as its participation and connection of adult education and university didactics. Aspects on the state of research result from the reflections on the relationship between theory and practice.

This work deals with security journalism in general, with the aim of analysing internet users' reactions to posts on the Facebook page of the Folha do Sul newspaper, located in the municipality of Bagé in Rio Grande do Sul. Being able to talk about this section is important, considering that there are few works and references about it. I would like to thank everyone involved during the data collection process, especially the best and most dedicated supervisor, Cristiane Pereira. I invite everyone to enjoy the results of this research.
