Treating a surgical emergency requires great skill and diagnostic ability on the part of the surgeon. Some rare diseases may present in this way, including gallbladder volvulus. Rare Surgical Entity: Gallbladder Volvulus addresses clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects that will be useful to know and treat this pathology.

This study aims to analyse how the cultural industry interferes in the education of 5th grade students at the Graziela Gabriel Municipal School in the municipality of Castanhal, Pará. To this end, a descriptive study with a qualitative approach was carried out. The data was collected by administering questionnaires to two 5th grade classes. The informants were eight randomly selected students and two teachers. The main objective was to obtain information that would allow us to analyse the participants' understanding of the ways in which the culture industry interferes in students' education, preventing effective critical and emancipatory education. In this sense, the theoretical framework for analysis was based on the Critical Theory of Society, especially Adorno and Horkheimer and the studies of Brazilian researchers such as Bruno Pucci, Wolfgang Leo Maar, Rodrigo Duarte and others. The results show that the culture industry prevents the critical education of students in the school environment, because it is restricted to the interests of the market and alienated consumption.

The book also explores the context of Epilepsy, a neurological disease that causes organic, psychological and social damage and affects thousands of people worldwide, bringing to light the scientific contexts that support the powerful anticonvulsant and neuroprotective action of "endocannabinoids", thus providing more quality of life for patients who still suffer from this "great evil of society".

Gender-based violence is a frequent problem with serious consequences, encompassing the socio-cultural and psychological contexts of all those involved. Nowadays, movements have emerged with greater force to recognise women as strong, autonomous beings capable of exercising power over their lives, putting aside the stigma of passive, fragile and dependent women. As a result, the practice of martial arts by women has been growing, proving to be an activity that can have a positive impact on their mental health. The aim of this study was to verify the perception of women who practise martial arts regarding their empowerment to face situations of gender-based violence in society. The data collection procedure used interviews with some female martial arts practitioners. After analysing the categories that emerged, it was possible to deduce that martial arts can function as an instrument capable of promoting a feeling of self-confidence and empowerment in women, positively reverberating in their mental health.

The purpose of this research is to present the pre-military instruction room at the Catholic University Cecilio Acosta (UNICA) as a didactic proposal to reinforce national identity. This work is framed within different methodological currents such as exploratory, descriptive, qualitative and documentary research, and aims to offer teachers tools to provide answers to specific problems and achieve an attitudinal transformation in the agents involved, in order to solve them through the application of the scientific method, therefore, the objective of the project is to propose a pre-military instruction room. The theoretical references that guided the research were: pre-military instruction, national identity and learning room. The results after the application of the data collection instrument confirmed the weaknesses to be addressed by the pre-military instruction room within the academic training of future teachers. This book is the result of my desire to delve deeper into the subject since my undergraduate studies in Economics, where the labor market and the articles by Prof. Dr. Affonso Celso Pastore prompted me to question and evaluate the Brazilian labor market. The focus is on the evolution of labor laws, as well as their role in the various eras of society's evolution, and the current challenges arising from the same evolution, in other words, a paradox. In addition, the material creates an environment conducive to overcoming obstacles and discussing the topic in organizations and academic society. In this way, the obstacles to sharing information and knowledge can be reduced, based on the author's contribution to the subject.In addition, there can be no growth without transformation, breaking down paradigms and silos that only serve to prevent society from discussing the issue in an apolitical and scientific manner, with a view to finding solutions to the problems that arise at the present time in labor relations.

With a view to making an even greater contribution to data management for water resources, the aim of this study is to present a user-friendly interface for managing data corresponding to hydrogeographic analyses focused on water quality. To this end, software called GeoÁguas was developed for storing and managing hydrogeographic data. To develop the software, Borland's free Builder C++ 6 programming environment was used. This IDE or integrated development environment was chosen due to its ease of use and the various tools available, making it possible to develop in a more user-friendly and interactive way. The GeoÁguas software proved to be an easy-to-use tool in the tests carried out, as users had no difficulty in using it. Some errors were found, but these do not prevent the software from being used. The results presented show that the software can be used as a tool for managing water resources.

The subject of landslides among the risks of geological origin has been widely studied in the world, which allows us to evaluate how this phenomenon is analysed in different geo-environmental conditions and consequently to establish a work programme for the analysis of this problem. The objective of this research is to evaluate the levels of landslide risks in the municipality of Mayarí, Holguín, based on the characterisation of the engineering-geological conditions of the terrain using existing and historical geographical information and data compiled through work with Geographical Information Systems (G.I.S.), obtaining maps of total danger and total vulnerability and, based on these, maps of landslide risks in the municipality. In addition, graphs and tables were obtained that allow for a better characterisation and understanding of the maps. The "Methodological guide for the study of danger, vulnerability and risk due to landslides" and the methodology for the evaluation of risks, taking into account in both cases the heuristic and geomorphological methods, were used to carry out the work.

This is an experimental study and the methodology applied aims to subject paracetamol to stress tests, where its degradation will be analysed using Analytical Layer Chromatography (ADC) after the thermal, acidic, basic, oxidative and photolytic stress conditions to which it will be exposed. Before carrying out the degradation tests, it was necessary to carry out a solubility test on paracetamol, where it was noted that it solubilised better in methanol.

The book "Compilado de artigos sobre pessoas que vivem com o HIV: assistência integral à saúde da criança, da mulher e do adolescente" describes the articles produced at the Ambulatório Escola (Ambes) on this subject, with their respective protocols. Ambes is considered a Regional Reference Centre for the Prevention and Treatment of STIs, HIV/Aids and Viral Hepatitis and serves as a field for practical classes and internships for students from various undergraduate courses. The existence of vertical transmission of HIV alerts us to the need to look at systematising practices related to maternal and child care in the context of maternal HIV seropositivity, which can be helped by building a comprehensive care protocol for maternal and child clients, based on public policy proposals for this clientele, and on the health team's reflection and discussion on the proposed actions, according to real needs and feasibility. A protocol for women's and adolescents' health care is also needed, as these are a group susceptible to HIV infection.

Study presented to the Postgraduate Programme in Ecology and Natural Resources of the Centre for Biological and Health Sciences of the Federal University of São Carlos, as part of the requirements for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Science (Biological Sciences), in the area of Ecology and Natural Resources, with the title EPIDEMIOLOGY AND POPULATION GENETICS OF THE GUARDIAN BOW, Chrysocyon brachyurus (ILLIGER, 1915) (CARNIVORE, CANIDAE) IN THE NORTHEASTERN REGION OF THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO.

This research deals with the analysis of thirty chipped glass instruments recovered after excavations at the historic archaeological site Engenho do Murutucu, located in the Curió-Utinga neighbourhood, in the municipality of Belém, Pará, Brazil. According to the documentation, this site was built at the beginning of the 18th century and is linked to African slavery in the Amazon, where indigenous and African slaves and plantation lords and ladies lived. The objects were analysed based on the precepts of the technological approach. For microscopic observation of the marks of use, a petrographic optical device with a magnification of more than 100x was used. Experimental work was also carried out. This methodological union was chosen in view of the problem that surrounded the identification and analysis of these objects, given that many instruments made from chipped glass are not recognised in the archaeological records of various historical sites. The results achieved made it possible to affirm that the instruments made from chipped glass are mixed entities and are the result of traditional know-how.

The overall aim of this study is to find a technique for adapting onion cultivation in a humid zone, in order to obtain higher yields, identify the most suitable species in the soil of the humid region, and determine the germination rate and growth of each species. To achieve these objectives, several materials and methods were used. Experimental results show that of the threeAllium cepa varieties, red onions germinate first; yellow onions have the lowest germination rate, while red onions have the highest;vegetative growth of the plant: yellow onions and red creoles grow a little slowly, red onions the fastest; red onions have the heaviest bulb and yellow onions the lightest; red onions have the largest bulb and red onions the highest yield in kg/ha, ranging from 290 to 300kg/ha. The problem with this crop is bulb rot: yellow onions have the highest rate of rot.

Good management and a good understanding of an organisation mean, first and foremost, mastery of the management tools that enable the manager to exercise direct control over the operations carried out. On the other hand, as soon as the company grows in size and management becomes complex, requiring the division of functions, the manager resorts to the delegation of tasks, responsibilities and skills through decentralised responsibility centres. In this way, the manager must implement tools that enable him to gather the information needed to make decisions and to ensure that these decisions are followed and respected. Control is exercised at every level of the organisation, i.e. at strategic level to ensure strategic control, at line management level to ensure management control, and at operational centre level to ensure operational control.

In this research work, we are interested in studying the determinants of the share of wages in GDP. The study concerns a panel of 51 African countries and covers the period between 2006 and 2017, using two estimation methods: fixed-effects method and generalized method of moments (GMM).The results of the study reveal that total factor productivity, foreign direct investment, the unemployment rate and capital intensity have a non-linear effect on the wage share. Indeed, if we take the example of total factor productivity, the results reveal that this variable has a replacement effect in the short term and an offsetting effect in the long term. The results also show that the interest rate significantly increases the wage share, while growth, trade openness and higher school enrolment rates have a negative effect.Similarly, we found that the impact of total factor productivity becomes more significant through its interaction with the higher education rate, the unemployment rate and the share of ICT imports in GDP.

Rett syndrome, a neurological disorder, is often misdiagnosed as autism, cerebral palsy, or idiopathic mental retardation. It affects almost exclusively girls; boys can suffer from the disease but hardly survive after birth, as the central cause of the disease lies in a mutation in a gene on the X chromosome, of which boys have only one, while girls have two. It is a rare disease, currently occurring in one case in ten thousand. It consists of five variants, one classical, and the rest atypical forms; but all have in common the compromise of the patient's manual dexterity, verbal communication and motor skills.

A comparative study was carried out between the Simple Linear Regression and Decision Tree techniques to assess the impacts caused by harmonic generation in the distribution network at a medium-voltage substation. The aim of this dissertation is to carry out a comparative study of the results of applying the Decision Tree and Simple Linear Regression techniques to the analysis of harmonic impacts on an electrical system. The measurement campaign was carried out over a minimum period of 7 calendar days in accordance with PRODIST. The impact of these harmonics on the electrical system is very damaging for both consumers and utilities. The techniques used in this dissertation's methodology are the Decision Tree technique, which has the characteristic of building non-parametric models, and the Simple Linear Regression technique, which has the characteristic of building parametric models and simple mathematical calculations, which are easy to interpret and analyze. In this way, this dissertation has presented and applied in practice with case studies actions for analyzing harmonic impacts in electricity distribution systems.

Enhanced rehabilitation after colorectal surgery is a veritable medical revolution. Clinical studies published to date clearly demonstrate its feasibility, safety and effectiveness. In addition to the obvious benefits for patients, such as reduced complications and improved postoperative comfort, this approach also has a positive impact on healthcare costs, by reducing expenditure on care and stays. However, for this approach to be widely adopted, significant changes in our perioperative practices are required. These changes are based on solid scientific evidence, but must take into account organizational aspects, where the commitment of all professionals involved in care, as well as the active participation of the patient himself, play an essential role in the success of the program. We hope that this book will contribute to a better understanding of enhanced rehabilitation among healthcare professionals, and encourage its widespread integration in all surgical specialties.

Cowpea occupies over 70% of the area cultivated in the baiboho of Port-Bergé. At present, this crop is subject to attacks by insect pests, leading farmers to use pesticides intensively and abusively. The aim of this study is to inventory insect pests of cowpea in the baiboho of Port-Bergé. Farmers were surveyed to identify the main pests. Sight hunting followed by manual collection, the quadra method and mowing nets were used to inventory and capture pests at each phenological stage of the plant. Documentation and caterpillar rearing were carried out to identify the species collected. The results obtained identified 8 different insect pest species. Aphis craccivora (Aphidideae), Heliothis armigera (Noctuideae), Maruca vitrata (Crambideae) and Clavigralla tomentosicollis (Coreideae) are the most formidable to cowpea cultivation. In terms of abundance, Aphidideae (Aphis craccivora) and Agromyzideae (Ophiomia phaseoli) predominate at all phenological stages of the plant.

Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) - is a pathology that has an incidence all over the world, with Brazilian estimates being higher than in other countries, such as North American and European states. In Brazil, the occurrence of GTD is one positive pregnancy to more than 200 negative pregnancies. Regardless of gestational age, the chances of curing GTD are close to 100 per cent in the majority of cases, however, the misfortune caused in the lives of patients. The aim of this text was to analyse and reflect on the phenomenon of cross-border commuting. The subjects researched were street workers known as ambulantes, more specifically those who sell products such as fruit, yerba mate and gum candies at traffic lights and at specific points in the city, such as busy avenues and streets. These informal workers travel every day from the Paraguayan municipalities of Ciudad del Este and Puerto Presidente Franco to the streets of Foz do Iguaçu/BR to sell their goods. At the end of the day they return to their country of origin, thus configuring cross-border commuting. Ethnographic research was used to verify this phenomenon, using a semi-structured questionnaire.

In recent years the concept of Public Opinion has been put under multiple tensions, from its frequent failures in the results it yields, to the new configuration and questions raised by ICTs, with the emergence of platforms where atomized singular opinions multiply, tangentially crossed by diverse links and agglutination, under the logic of qualifying and differentiating devices, which find meaning in the numbers yielded by the different algorithms.The Public Opinion is dead wonders about its current state, its possible reconfigurations and the final question, where in its last thesis, it will seek to clarify its existence and the limits it currently faces (if it is still there).

The University of Guayaquil is characterized by receiving students of all ethnicities, however the research was conducted only in the Faculty of Communication leaving amazing results with fourth year students of all schedules. They were chosen for their scientific maturity; they are in their last stage and have lived the problems about identity that we suffer. Problems that are not only about dance or montubia music, it is about a whole legacy of experiences and ancestral knowledge that must be retaken and put into practice in our daily life and the beginning is with the young communicators who have the power of information and dissemination. Ecuador at the international level has been sold for tourism with only one face, the highland culture, and it is not wrong, the problem is that we are intercultural, multiethnic and multicultural and it is our obligation to show all the cultural poles that we have.
