Mangroves are coastal forests equivalent to tropical rainforests. They are irreplaceable and unique ecosystems, home to an incredible biodiversity, and are considered to be among the most productive on the planet. The aerial roots of their trees emerge from the salt waters of coasts, estuaries, river deltas and keys, forming a network that provides shelter to a multitude of animal species (fish, mollusks, crustaceans, birds), many of them important for human food.The mangroves are parking and breeding areas for a large number of these species, they are a refuge for Germans and small growing fish, and other forms of marine life in their spawning stage. They also protect these coasts from erosion, and have for centuries provided a multitude of resources to local populations.The mangrove is characterized by not presenting a mixed structure: the labyrinthine web of trees and roots is usually in reality an ordered forest mass that grows in bands according to their different degree of resistance to periodic tidal flooding, and therefore to salt.There are many types of mangroves, but they all have one thing in common, they are very fragile and endangered "salt forests".

Rainfed rice cultivation in the Vakinankaratra highlands faces major problems due to soil poverty and the presence of pest white grubs. A greenhouse study evaluated the effect of soil fertilization on two species of grubs: Heteroconus paradoxus and Hyposerica sp.The experiment used four types of treatment (soil without fertilizer, cattle manure, NPK fertilizer and a combination of NPK and manure) on a variety of upland rice. White grub damage was assessed at different stages of rice growth. Without fertilizer, both species of grubs caused significant damage from emergence to flowering. Fertilization with NPK favored plant growth but did not prevent attacks. In contrast, the use of cattle manure reduced damage at all stages for Heteroconus paradoxus and totally eliminated attacks at flowering stage for Hyposerica sp. Finally, the combination of NPK and manure reduced damage from tillering stage for Heteroconus paradoxus and bolting stage for Hyposerica sp.

Today, the search for energy efficiency has reached global levels. New research into complementary and renewable energy sources has been in greatest demand in recent years. Over the years, the development of solar technologies has shown great progress and with the increase in rivalry, the costs of these technologies have dropped significantly. Despite the current limitations of economic, technical and political feasibility, in Brazilian territory, the use of solar energy is an alternative for sustainable industrial development, for the reduction of polluting gas emissions and as a complementary energy source for the National Interconnected System. This work has a bibliographic character, with the objective of exposing and aggregating themes and discussions raised in recent years in the area of Heliothermal, describing the technologies used in Thermosolar plants, analysing and highlighting the main aspects that must be considered in a Heliothermal implantation and presenting several recent studies, theses and dissertations in the area.

This book is intended primarily for the military public, as an important tool for consultation. It also serves law practitioners (judges, prosecutors, lawyers, etc.), with the in-depth examination of the habeas corpus and writ of mandamus institutes being the main axis. These institutes are approached from their origins, through their historical evolution to their practical application against military disciplinary acts.

It contextualises the importance of establishing a new regulatory model for the exploration and production of oil and natural gas reserves in the pre-salt layer area, through a constitutional comparison of various doctrinal and jurisprudential understandings. In this sense, the central legal aspect of this publication is the exercise of the activities that are part of the monopoly assured to the Union, considering the need to establish a new state-owned company for this specific purpose.

We studied the possible relationships between social capital and human capital, specifically of the graduating students of the Administration course; employed at the time of the research, who seek better qualification for the labour market. We verify the possible relationships between social capital and human capital of these students according to the desired objective. We also present, interpret and discuss two indicators of human capital: experience and education. The students' responses about social capital; the possible relationships between human capital and social capital of the students happened according to the research. Most students have a network of virtual relationships, only in the recreational part, and have attitudes of trust and reciprocity. In addition, students have a network of virtual and personal relationships that allow them to show their human capital. We conclude that there was a relationship between the social capital and human capital of the students in the questions and interviews conducted.

This small publication aims to briefly present some themes of Cape Verdean reality in the work of Jorge Barbosa (1902-1971). It consists of poetry; "Crónicas de S. Vicente"; letters; some articles; interviews; two short stories; a critical review; and an unpublished novel, which he left unfinished. It resulted from the capture of a reality that seemed hidden, but which he managed to publicise through his writing. In this way, the author in question played a necessary role in the construction of an engaged and nationally based literature, which functioned as a mechanism for recording what he visualised in his daily life.

The supervised internship of Geography was carried out at the Joaquim Xavier de Brito school, which is located in the Iputinga neighbourhood, in the city of Recife in Pernambuco. The internship lasted 2 years, where in each semester different methodologies were addressed. Thus allowing to expand, develop and work different proposals according to the needs of each period, seeking continuous learning and teacher training. This work aims to show results obtained through the supervised internship I, II, III and IV, portraying the daily life of the student in the internship, explaining perspectives, interactions and possibilities through teaching practice, in addition to reflecting on the role of the university for the training of teachers, and the student in his practice. Interacting with the teaching and learning process. Exposing a characterisation of the school and its history, providing the observation of the same in a cultural and socioeconomic context, as well as school-teacher-student relations and social interactions.

In the discipline of Chemistry, it is undeniable that conducting experiments that correlate theory and practice is a very valuable tool. Using laboratory classes to investigate chemical phenomena arouses student interest and facilitates learning. This book offers a series of experiments that seek to cover, with an activity, each of the main topics studied in Chemistry in Engineering courses. The experiments have been designed using basic, inexpensive and easily acquired materials and equipment so that they can be carried out even in simple laboratories without many resources.

The book entitled "THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HUMAN/FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO HEALTH THROUGH THE USE OF CANNABIS IN THE DEMOCRATIC STATE OF LAW" deals with the need to realise the human, fundamental and social right to health through the therapeutic use of Cannabis in Brazil. Although there are people who try to deconstruct the therapeutic character of Marijuana, its use in the treatment of diseases is nothing new, both in Brazil and in the world. In this sense, it is unequivocal that the use of marijuana for therapeutic purposes, with responsibility, monitoring by a specific professional and State supervision, can promote quality of life for people, social well-being and social peace.

Eucalyptus is a tree native to Australia, belonging to the myrtaceae family, and widely introduced throughout the world. This book provides the reader with the main information on the quantitative and qualitative, chemical and biological evaluation of certain secondary metabolites extracted from Eucalyptus leaves, with a view to exploring new active substances with a therapeutic effect. The species covered by this study are little studied. They are found in Tunisia, but also in other parts of the world such as North Africa, Madagascar, Mayotte, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Argentina, California, Portugal and the Mediterranean.This book is a practical guide to the extraction, identification and evaluation of the biological activities and health benefits of Eucalyptus essential oils. The main results have been validated by Doctor Jalloul Bouajila (Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Toulouse, Paul Sabatier University, France) and Professor Manef Abderrabba (Professor of Chemistry, IPEST, Tunisia).

This is an analysis of the State and what motivates it to be; of the breadth of functions and powers and whether such breadth leads, intrinsically, to a path of arbitrariness. The incongruities that govern contemporary states are the major motivators that drive this research. The method used is the hypothetical-deductive one, within which thinkers who follow liberal, conservative and socialist currents of thought have been read, filed and studied. This research can be easily traced to the sources cited and the conclusions derived from them. The main results were that a strongly interventionist state, whether conservative in the moral sphere or socialist in the economic sphere, will be a state that creates a pattern of deindividuation towards its governed, which means that they come to flirt with obedience as a master value and, at the same time, consider themselves a mere extension of the whole, and no longer individuals.

The present study is built on the interface of the assumptions of psychodiagnosis through the subjective components of the life of a subject who works as a sergeant in the Military Police of the Federal District. The social relations of this subject acquire importance to the extent that the uniqueness and complexity of everyday life appear linked to the challenges caused by police work issues. To advance this theme, the research presents an analysis from a case study on the relationship of work in the social life of a police officer in action. The general objective was to investigate the impact of police work on the subject's relational context, with a view to analysing the role of psychological assessment in investigating the stress characteristic of police work and dynamic aspects of the personality of the subject participating in the case study, as specific objectives. It was also focused in the discussion of this research a convergence between the concept of psychological aspects through psychodiagnosis and the health of the worker; as a component of the subjectivity process.

The study of Health Economics has had a great advance in the context of national research, illustrating the concern with one of the most controversial and important issues in society. This book deals with the analysis of the social damage to the SUS - Sistema Único de Saúde - reflecting the economic, social and legal effects inherent to tobacco users and derivatives on society. Smoking is considered a global pandemic that generates losses estimated at around 200 billion reais to countries, mainly developing countries, according to the WHO, in addition to the five million deaths recorded annually. The American Cancer Society, in its studies, presents that, for every five deaths, one is caused by tobacco use in the USA. In Brazil, data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) show that about 17% of the population is smokers, which is relevant for studying the impacts of tobacco use on society.

With the development and changes in the social core, the law can not remain stagnant, it is always up to him to innovate and develop, otherwise it will lose the ability to resolve conflicts of interest and respond to the desires of society. Today, marriage is not the only way to constitute a family, existing the most diverse forms of family, as the stable union (central theme of this work), single-parent families, homoafetivas, etc.. Thus, it is up to the law to always seek the protection of such institutes in its legal body. The theme is of great relevance, since the number of cases of stable unions grows every day and it is necessary to clarify the doubts that surround it, always in the light of constitutional principles. In view of the existence of the possibility of partners instituting a cohabitation contract to deal with the property rules that will govern the union, the following question arises: what will be the property regime to be observed in the absence of such a contract?

The search for tools that bring competitive advantages to companies, regardless of their industry or size, makes Human Resources Management and the concern with the Environment gain more and more space within organisations. We can observe that nowadays most companies that stand out in the competitive scenario, are supported by an HR policy aligned with their strategy, having as one of their major concerns the Environment, as they have already realised that the consumer is becoming aware of the importance of caring for the environmental preservation of the planet.

Incredible importance of external representation is for charitable foundations, humanitarian, educational and outreach organizations. And absolutely necessary is the effect of sympathy, falling in love, interest for representatives of creative professions (actors, singers, bloggers, etc.). No one begins their journey in the business world without an expectation of success. And in today's space, which continues to "meet by the clothes", the importance of external presentation has now increased manifold, as the number and possibilities of contact points is growing in progression proportional to the development of social networks and their possibilities.

The scope of the research was to investigate the impact of drugs on the emergence of criminal careers. To this end, a search was conducted in documents from more than 1200 police enquiries, from which the individuals in the sample were extracted. Once the sample was formed, each of these individuals whose first offences were committed in the years 1985, 1990 and 2005, a cohort of 20 years therefore. These individuals had their criminal trajectories investigated based on criteria of age, education, severity of offences and development or not of a criminal career. The conclusion of the study was that individuals whose first access to the criminal justice system was due to an offence related to illicit drugs tended to develop criminal careers. The age at which the first offence was committed as well as the level of education also had a positive influence on the development of a criminal career. Finally, the study also found that individuals whose crimes were more serious were younger and had lower education levels when they committed their first offence.

Agro-industry co-products have potential for use in ruminant diets. The biodiesel agroindustry has gained prominence in recent years in Brazil, generating a large volume of waste that if not properly disposed of brings great environmental impacts. These co-products due to the high protein and energy content can be used in the diet of ruminant animals, which can help reduce production costs. The production of orange juice also stands out in Brazil, and the use of citrus pulp (the orange peel) has a high content of soluble carbohydrates, mainly pectin, and can also be used in the diet of ruminants.

Social housing or housing of social interest, or even social housing, whatever its denomination is a type of housing intended for the population whose income level makes it difficult or prevents access to housing. In addition to social factors, associated with the prejudice developed about this population, because in general, they are citizens with extremely low income, in some cases, allocated in unworthy housing or in peripheral areas of the city, such as in slums, for example. However, prioritising low cost, social housing insertions in Brazil are not always allocated and designed in the most efficient way. Thus, with the aim of finding the problem, as well as possible solutions to it, this book was written.

Due to the lack of specific environmental protection actions regarding the burial of human bodies, many areas have been contaminated by organic and inorganic substances and pathogenic microorganisms. All this contamination occurs when cemeteries are poorly planned and implemented in places that have unfavourable environmental conditions for such an enterprise. The general objective of this work is to carry out an environmental diagnostic study in the surroundings of the company Iberkraft Ind de Papel e Celulose in relation to the installation of the new cemetery. A bibliographic survey was carried out on the current legislation pertinent to cemetery enterprises, including SEMA Resolution 002/2009 and CONAMA Resolution 357/1997 to know the standards and variables necessary for their installation and operation. Soil and water samples were also collected for physical/chemical analyses. It was evidenced in this work that there is a great potential for contamination of both water and soil due to the proximity to the site and slope of the land.

This book aims to probe the typologies and causative agents of drought in Jacques Roumain's two novels. We have identified and described six types of drought: physical, social, intellectual, institutional, economic and moral/psychological, drawing on Aire's work as a conceptual frame of reference and on thematic, sociological, psychoanalytical, Marxist and semiotic approaches, given the thematic varieties dealt with in the works and the author's ideology and the beliefs of the characters in the works under study. We see that deforestation, the abandonment of cultivated land and man's wickedness towards the earth are all causes of the drought that invades the village of Fonds-Rouge, as shown by the author. Our observations are that Jacques Roumain criticizes his compatriots for destroying the land and abandoning it for better grazing. It is highly recommended for researchers and students alike.

Anthropometric analysis and occupational biomechanical analysis are important tools to verify whether working conditions meet the aspects required by ergonomics. These analyses, in a clothing company, contribute to the ergonomic evaluation of work, seeking to increase productivity and reduce bodily injuries. This book is a case study in a clothing company with the objective of carrying out an anthropometric and biomechanical analysis of the sewing sector of a clothing industry. The research had as method the application of the questionnaire, showing data, of perception of the workstation, an anthropometric analysis through measurements on the furniture and a biomechanical analysis through photos and direct observation. An analysis was carried out in the Ergolandia 5.0 software to analyse the postures adopted by the employees during the working day.

The teaching-learning process of natural sciences in the eighth years of General Basic Education includes the study of energy, a subject that, due to its nature, is considered unmotivating and tedious for students, especially when traditional methodologies are still used in the classroom, such as the teacher's lecture, without the application of resources or tools that motivate and generate significant learning on the subject. Taking into account that the advance of technology and its insertion in current educational processes, provide tools that motivate and facilitate learning, this research work proposes the use of the Multimedia Tool Cuadernia, to strengthen the learning of energy in the subject of Natural Sciences of eighth grade students of General Basic Education parallel "B" of the Educational Unit "Prof. Julio Ordoñez Espinoza, in the school "Prof. Julio Ordoñez Espinoza". Julio Ordoñez Espinoza" of the city of Loja, period 2014 - 2015, for which the general objective is to apply the multimedia tool Cuadernia to strengthen learning about energy.

Scientific studies show that new ways of leading are reaching the various organisational contexts, with increasingly humanistic approaches. Servant leadership is one of these contemporary approaches that has presented important directions of how people expect leaders to act to win their followers. This study sought to apply the concepts of servant leadership in a religious organisation, framed by the Catholic Church as a New Community, known by the name of Manain. It is a Brazilian organisation, located in the city of Caruaru in the state of Pernambuco. Its main focus is humanitarian and evangelisation work, where young people and adults work voluntarily. The study manages to provide evidence that servant leadership is present in this organisational reality, signalling possible behaviours that can be assumed by leaders in different organisational contexts.

This is a collection of texts written by P. Vincke over a period of some twenty years, since his first experience in the judicial and legal world of crimes of genocide and against humanity in 1998, when he was briefly head of mission for Avocats Sans Frontières in Rwanda, then director of RCN Justice & Démocratie, a human rights and justice development NGO in Belgium and Central Africa, and subsequently consultant for cooperation agencies and the European Union. These insights and reflections have often found their way into the editorials of the RCN newsletter. They describe trials, ask questions about the meaning of justice as an actor in the reconstruction of societies and individuals that have been wounded, about the expertise and ambitions of development players, and about the policies of donors. The legitimacy of support actions often refers to the need to promote local justice, and the legitimacy of justice often refers to its humanizing function. The author persists in believing that German-Roman law is ill-suited to the realities of populations that are mostly - and not partly, as some would have us believe - vulnerable.

Online shopping has already been booming for years and is growing continuously year after year. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a strong increase in the volume of online trade can be observed. The aim of this study is to answer the question of what significance online retailing has assumed in the course of the COVID 19 pandemic from the consumer's point of view. To this end, the following research question is posed: What relevance does online retailing gain as a result of the pandemic?

Youth and Adult Education, popularly known as EJA, is composed of men and women over 15 years old, subjects of all the diversity and social inequality existing in this country, since they did not have access to basic rights such as education. Recent data reveal that Brazil still has about 11.8 million illiterate people, which corresponds to 7.2% of the population over 15 years of age (IBGE, 2016). In view of this huge figure, we emphasise the importance of offering education to young people and adults, which leads us to the relevance of the theme of teacher training that will work in the EJA classroom. We believe that, when thought from the perspective of initial training within the Pedagogy Degree course, the EJA should be experienced by future teachers in theory and pedagogical practice, given all the complexity, diversity and specificity that characterises a classroom composed of adults. In this sense, we set out to investigate the space of the EJA within the Pedagogy course of the State Universities of São Paulo.

At first glance, it may seem that enough research has been done so far on the emblematic figure of the cultural panorama of 11th century Al-Andalus, Ibn Hazm, universally known for his deservedly famous work, Tawq al-¿am¿ma, published in Spanish under the title El collar de la paloma (The necklace of the dove). Conversely, it must be believed that it is still possible to present serious and diverse studies on this work, particularly with the adaptation of uncommon, multifaceted and, also, favourable points of view to certain questions that are of current or, more preferably, timeless interest. From this perspective, this study aims to elaborate an approach to the aforementioned work, emphasising its multidimensional nature. Its main objective is to unweave and decipher the miscellany of the various imaginative and conceptual connotations (loaded with descriptive-affective-spiritual-spiritual-psychological nuances) generated by the world of flora and fauna, well manifested in the work, starting from the very title given to it.
