Peace is not just a "subject, a theme", it's an immense opportunity for people, and it's a set of elements to be built upon. Its opposites - war, but also multiple forms of violence - are above all tragedies and threats, synonymous with suffering for many people and peoples on Earth. At the age of 25, and therefore rather late in life, I became aware of the fact that young people my age had known nothing but war in their lives or their survival. This, among other things, led me to try to contribute to thinking and acting for peace. At the same time, I gradually came to realize the close theoretical and practical links between peace and democracy, justice and the environment. In short, it was with a very strong sense of purpose that I tried to write this synthesis on the subject of peace.

It is the duty of the State to protect and secure the integrity of its territory. This is a major concern for every state, in order to confirm its sovereignty, since it will enable it to establish its administration and govern its population properly. That said, the State can only achieve this through an authorized service. And that service is the security service, with the army at its core. The army plays a decisive role in defending territorial integrity, carrying out works of economic interest and defending, promoting and protecting human rights. Given the importance of the missions assigned to it, the State must have an army that is specialized in its art, through appropriate ongoing training and an army that is equipped, supported and respectful of its deontological, regulatory and legal rules. Only then will it contribute to the establishment of the rule of law.

Industrialization and population growth are the factors driving a steady increase in electricity consumption. As electrical energy is very difficult to store, there must always be a balance between production and consumption. Against this backdrop, it is important for grid operators to have the means to constantly monitor reactive powers, voltages and power transits in the lines, so that the existing transmission network can be operated as efficiently and safely as possible: hence the new FACTS adaptive systems.

The retrograde-flow posterior interosseous flap is a locoregional septo-facio-cutaneous island flap vascularized retrogradely by the posterior interosseous artery of the forearm via a distal anastomosis with the anterior interosseous artery and the deep arch of the carpus. We reviewed 15 cases of loss of substance in the hand covered by posterior interosseous flap. We obtained 86.6% good functional results, with a satisfactory aesthetic outcome in 60% of cases. Complications at the recipient site were dominated by partial necrosis related to the venous turgidity of the flap. This flap makes a major contribution to the coverage of substance loss in the hand, particularly on the dorsal side of the hand and at the first commissure. The great advantage of this flap is that, unlike other flaps in the region, it preserves the major vascular axes of the hand. Its major drawback is the difficulty of dissection, which classifies it as Oberlin stage 4.

The brain drain from Africa to the developed world is a major drain on any economy. Access to energy in Africa, and more specifically in Cameroon, is a key factor in the development of agricultural industries. It is in this context that we conducted our research into the manufacture of a micro-hydro turbine. The preliminary design showed that the diameter of the impeller is 263 mm, that of a trough is 50 mm and that of the injector is 20 mm. The inertia mass of the impeller is 0.0021 Kg.m2. The torque developed at the end of the shaft is 11 Nm, with a jet impact force of 83.68 N. Tests in a high-pressure laundry showed that our prototype has a promising future in the renewable energy sector. We recorded a voltage of 220V to 230V from a flow rate of 2.5 L/s to 6 L/s. The maximum current value recorded was 3.2 A, giving an output of 736 W and an estimated efficiency of 92%. The micro-hydro turbine can supply 172.6 kWh/d of energy, avoiding the emission of 5.8 T of carbon per year.

Nowadays, the competitiveness to reach an optimal sport performance, makes that several sportsmen as coaches start the incessant search of aids in nutrition, sport implementation, nutritional supplements and more. Without getting determining factors, in each of them, but they are the final percentage as a whole what would allow to reach the optimal sports performance, due to this we will make reference to a point very neglected by the sportsmen and trainers, probably because they do not have clear knowledge about these, because each sportsman is a world; being the "hydration" an indispensable point, but forgotten. In this document we will try to unveil more accessible parameters, minimising the taboos or tips, meaningless until now maintained; for mountain races it can also provide a very necessary contribution for endurance and adventure sports.

For over a decade, a number of publications have focused on qualitative methods, including the case method. The effort is commendable, but still insufficiently measurable in Africa. In Women's Entrepreneurship, for example, many authors are suggesting new directions for research, with the aim of capturing specific and rich aspects of this entrepreneurial form, without resorting to generic measuring instruments. With this in mind, the case method has recently been mobilized to "showcase" cases of business development driven by women entrepreneurs in the Cameroonian context. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to counteract the complexity of deploying the relevant protocol in the field. As a modest attempt to reduce this complexity, the author offers a simplified guide to the various phases involved in carrying out a case study, illustrated on the basis of her doctoral work. The aim of this work is to incorporate different levels of carbon nanotubes into the polyurethane matrix, to obtain a good dispersion of carbon nanotubes in this matrix and to study the effect of carbon nanotube levels on the mechanical properties (elongation before breakage) and to study the thermal properties by thermogravimetric analysis and the dispersion of carbon nanotubes by scanning electron microscopy.

The north-western part of the Central African Republic, located between 3°45' and 8°35' N, experienced high rainfall variability from the 1960s to the 1990s. To study these fluctuations and identify trends, a time series at various time steps between 1951 and 2000 was subjected to statistical tests to detect stationarity breaks. The spatio-temporal variability of the parameter studied was characterized and significantly negative rainfall trends were highlighted. The results of the analysis reveal alternating wet and dry episodes with very marked rainfall deficits. Progressive decrease in rainfall, accentuation of rainfall irregularity and shortening of the wet season were confirmed. Extreme weather events (floods and droughts) are becoming increasingly recurrent, with devastating consequences for natural and human ecosystems. These rainfall fluctuations have contributed to weakening the already anthropized natural environment. The vulnerabilities analyzed represent major challenges for efficient environmental management.

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the teaching-learning process of management disciplines has grown at an accelerated rate. Likewise, research work evaluating the usefulness of their use, including reference to programmes, simulators, methodologies, workshops and platforms, can be adapted and adopted as required. All these developments described above focus on teacher-student interaction. The present work is devoted to an area that has not had the same evolution so far in both its empirical and academic aspects: the interactivity between those who are responsible for the implementation of the teaching task, i.e. teacher-teacher interaction.

Cancers of the lip are a special case in cervico-facial carcinology, affecting an organ that is essential for its functions. Their treatment is essentially surgical. In the present work, the medical discourse of scientific popularization has caught the researcher's eye insofar as it offers the possibility of discovering how knowledge is disseminated through the mechanisms of intra-textual reformulation. Nadira Chahboub carefully analyzed the medical term Alzheimer's disease (AD) and its two complementary aspects: its reformulation and its concept. In materials aimed at non-specialists, popularizers have followed the specialists' lead in reformulating the term AD. The concept remained less defined for over twenty years. The reformulation followed the narrow evolution of the concept, eventually leading to the new conceptual form of AD. Today, the circulation of knowledge means that terminology work is becoming increasingly important, with implications for terminodidactics in particular. The ultimate aim of this book is to teach terminology and specialty languages to trainee translators. Technical and scientific writing aids could also be provided for all those working in the field of translation.

Lac de Tengréla is located in the village of Tengréla, around 7 km from the town of Banfora in southwest Burkina Faso. It covers an area of around 340 ha and is of ecological, cultural, social and economic value to the local population. It plays an important role in maintaining biodiversity and in agricultural, fishing and tourism activities. Despite its multiple functions, the lake is subject to heavy colonization by invasive aquatic plants, which hinder its proper functioning. Remote sensing is the tool we used to monitor the dynamics of invasive plant proliferation on the lake. The NDVI vegetation index was used to carry out this study, tracking the phenology of plants on the lake. It was extracted from 411 NDVI images of the MODIS MOD13Q1 product. This analysis shows that the dynamics of plant proliferation on the lake are contrasted from one year to the next. However, during the course of our study, we noted a high degree of vegetation cover on the lake. The average annual vegetation cover remains permanently above 70%.

Kidney failure is detected in over a third of heart failure patients. The association of these two pathologies has a poor prognosis, as it often alters the therapeutic strategy recommended for heart failure patients, and increases the progressive damage to both organs. The kidney plays an important role in the pathophysiology of heart failure, and suffers the progressive consequences of the most common causes of heart failure: ventricular dysfunction, atherosclerosis, hypertension and diabetes. Because these patients with renal failure and heart failure are often excluded from controlled trials, little is known about their optimal treatment and recommended medications. The "cardio-renal" syndrome is a hot topic, with various studies highlighting its increasing frequency and therapeutic implications. It can have detrimental consequences, as it exacerbates the effects of neurohormonal stimulation, inflammation, oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction on the structure of the myocardium, vessels and kidneys.

Contemporary Afghan literature has been built around Persian-speaking linguistic identification and literary heritage. The feeling of belonging has strongly influenced Afghan writers, and has contributed to their drawing inspiration from the Persian-speaking cultural and traditional heritage. Today, this new and little-known literature reflects and promotes a plural identity, open to the fundamental questions of writing and art. Literature and language, particularly that of writers in exile, are rich in intercultural and intertextual references. The collective memory of Afghans is built around intertextuality, bilingualism and myth.

More than ever, the concept of career is of paramount importance in the world of Human Resources, in that all career management processes are aimed at attracting talent, retaining employees and developing their skills. However, many organizations do not generally take an interest in the career development of their employees, and those that do often lack relevance in their approach, and consequently do not always achieve the expected results, i.e. organizational performance. This book is the product of a study focused on "Career development and individual performance: a challenge for Cameroon's processing industries", and attempts to provide context-specific answers to this widely-researched problem. We start from the general hypothesis that career development has a significant impact on the individual performance of employees in Cameroon's processing industries.

Cerebral tuberculosis accounts for 25-30% of extra-pulmonary localizations, and tuberculomas are the second most common form after meningitis. In our series, we reported 30 cases of intracranial tuberculomas (TBI), with tuberculomas located supratentorially in 27 cases and subtentorially in 15 cases. These lesions were multiple in 26 patients, with one case of cerebral miliaria. Tuberculomas were coalescent in a "grape cluster" pattern in 20 cases. Their signal intensity varied according to their stage. Diffusion sequences in 7 patients showed hypersignal diffusion with low ADC (n=2) and hyposignal diffusion with high ADC (n=5). Spectroscopy showed decreased NAA and NAA/Creatinine ratio (n=3), increased Choline/Creatinine ratio (n=2), lactate-lipid peak and increased Choline/Creatinine ratio (n=1). These tuberculomas were associated with other lesions in all cases. MRI represents an excellent, reproducible and innocuous means of making a positive diagnosis, establishing an exhaustive lesion assessment and ensuring post-therapeutic monitoring.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, like most developing countries, faces a serious problem when it comes to adequate sanitation of the living environments of urban populations, which is a daily struggle. This state of affairs contributes on a large scale to environmental pollution and constitutes a great danger to the lives of populations, insofar as many of the illnesses faced by these populations, causing thousands of deaths, stem from it, and requires the educational contribution of the media on the environment.

The author attempts to conceptualize Ludwig Wittgenstein's philosophy of language and to present it by analyzing and interpreting Franz Kafka's story "Building the Great Wall of China". The characteristic of language, which according to Wittgenstein consists in the identity of meanings that can be traced back to the intersubjective validity of rules, can be said to be suitable for an analysis of the social relations of the Chinese world in this work, namely according to the logical atomism of image theory as well as according to the pragmatic language game theory of the philosopher. Furthermore, it is discussed to what extent Wittgenstein's repeated emphasis on the connection between language and the form of life can lead to the truth and to the knowledge on both the subjective and social levels. In the form of society narrated by Kafka, the power of language in the form of the imperial command and the mythical legend proves to be an insurmountable and unchangeable dynamic.

In the collective imagination, conflict is almost always perceived as an aggressive and violent manifestation of varying magnitude, whose consequences in terms of frustration and the destruction of property and/or lives make it an undesirable part of life in society. Yet, like inequality and injustice, conflict is consubstantial with human life. Conflict is also the main lever for social change. This change is often a source of innovation, understood as a change in the thought process aimed at executing a new action. In a post-conflict society, peace-building also implies the construction of a new society. This book sets out to identify social and political innovations in the stabilization and reconstruction process in the DRC, in 5 parts. Part 2 presents the challenges of stabilization and reconstruction (2); the contribution of the United Nations to this process (3) is followed by an analysis of social and political innovations. The limits of innovation and the effectiveness of these interventions (5) complete the analysis.

The research entitled was undertaken to study the effect of different nutrients such as boric acid (H3BO3), calcium nitrate (CaNO3), potassium nitrate (KNO3) and magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) on the viability of pollen grains from Ghars-type Ph¿nix dactylifera L. date palms in vitro . Different culture media containing low and high concentrations compared with the control (Brewbacker and Kwack modified, 1963) were prepared for in vitro cultivation of pollen grains during 24 h incubation. The maximum germination rate was observed at a concentration of 0.05% H3BO3 with a pollen tube length of 32.25 µm, 0.01% CaNO3 with a pollen tube length of 72.86 µm, 0.01% KNO3 with a pollen tube length of 44.58 µm, while 0.02% MgSO4 gave a pollen tube length of 41.98 µm. The final conclusion is that the components of the culture medium play an important role in pollen tube germination and growth, and that the effect of these components is complementary. The right medium enables the right pollen to be used to boost yields and increase commercial crops.

Crisis management has not yet been studied in such a specific context as revolution or popular uprising. In this research work, the author asks how managers perceive a crisis emanating from a popular revolt. Do they really see it as a crisis? Do they distinguish its evolution? Do they see it as a set of opportunities? What problems did they experience during the period known as "the jasmine revolution"?

HIV-related mortality in Mali was estimated at 33 per 100,000 in 2012, and the prevalence of Tuberculosis/HIV co-infection was 14% in the same year. Tuberculosis is the leading cause of HIV-related mortality. Objective: the aim of the present study is to evaluate the management of tuberculosis/HIV co-infection at the Kénédougou Solidarité referral center in the Sikasso region of Mali between January 2008 and December 2013. Methods: we conducted a retrospective study of patients aged 15 and over, collecting data from patient records, registration registers, pharmacy registers and a patient-tracking software program used at the facility. Results: The prevalence of patients co-infected with HIV and tuberculosis was 5.24%. The rate of completion of complementary check-ups for inclusion was 72.82%, compared with 64.08% for follow-up check-ups for HIV-TB patients. The main difficulties were access to complementary check-ups and access to anti-tuberculosis drugs. ARVs are dispensed at the facility, as are drugs for certain OIs.

Nursing is understood as a social practice with various fields of action, among these, the Surgical Center is cited as a sector of high concentration of technical and scientific practice, in which the nurse coordinates and manages the entire process of care to be developed in the context of the hospital institution, including in the perioperative period. Five categories of analysis were found in the nurses' reports: Nursing performance in the Surgical Center scenario that describes the feelings and the ways in which nurses acted in the Surgical Center space; Perception of nurses about the management process in the Surgical Center: in it, nurses describe their work routine in the four regional hospitals surveyed and their actions, in the scope of management in the HS.

With advances in technology, fishing has gone from being a traditional activity to an industrial one. Industrialization has not been without consequences, as it has led to the overexploitation of fish stocks. As a result, many observers have been asking questions about the future of fish stocks, but also about the search for an alternative to fishing. In this search, aquaculture has emerged as a safe and sustainable way of coping with the overexploitation of resources. Many authors have theorized about aquaculture before being able to convince governments to include this activity in their development policies. The development of this activity is hampered by the high mortality observed during the fry-rearing phase. In Senegal, however, we have three species of corchorus with medicinal properties. The use of these species has enabled us to determine that fry fed with a feed formulated with corchorus oliotirus offer better survival and growth performance. These results were noted at the end of a micro-scale experiment.
