This research work corresponds to the quantitative approach, since each stage precedes the next and we cannot skip or avoid steps, although we can certainly define a phase, therefore, it is sequential and evidential. Likewise, a comparison was made of the challenges and difficulties that arise when implementing curricular autonomy (the clubs) between the General Secondary School "José Joaquín Fernández de Lizardi", located in La Magdalena Tlaltelulco and the Technical Secondary School No. 51, located in Tlacomulco.For this purpose, the delimitation of the object of study was carried out, including the problem statement, justification, objectives and research questions. Medicinal plants are used in Africa to prevent and treat disease, due to their low cost and ease of use. This is the case of Cryptolepis sanguinolenta, a periplocaceae used in Central and West Africa to treat intestinal infections, rheumatism and malaria. This book presents the partial characterization and evaluation of some of the biological activities of this plant's polysaccharides. Three fractions were extracted: soluble (FS), pectic (FP) and hemicellulosic (FH). Analysis of monosaccharide composition by gas chromatography revealed FS to be an arabinoglucan, FP a type 1 rhamnogalacturonan and FH a xyloglucan. Biological activity analysis revealed that, at 200 µg/ml, FS exhibited the best free radical scavenging and chelating activities, and FH the best iron-reducing activity. What's more, FS, FP and FH are non-toxic to human immune cells and regulate the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. These results suggest that polysaccharides can be exploited to develop more effective and less costly therapies.

In the early 1980s, under pressure from the Bretton Woods institutions, Mali, like other developing countries, embarked on a process aimed at eventually liberalizing its economy, both internally and externally. This process was part of the Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) drawn up and implemented by the aforementioned institutions. By attributing, on the basis of speculation, the virtues of economic and social development to economic liberalization, the Bretton Woods institutions precipitated the Malian economy into a logic of "excessive liberalization". More than thirty years after the beginning of the process of liberalization of its economy, and after the implementation of structural reforms with disastrous social consequences, Mali does not seem to be progressing along the path of development. Worse still, foreign competition has destroyed the embryonic industrial fabric resulting from the investment efforts made during the implementation of the first five-year economic and social development plan, covering the period 1961-1965.

This paper reports the experiences obtained from the observations and practices performed by PROFESSIONAL X, facing a patient who had Guillain Barré Syndrome (GBS). The research includes observation materials for 9 months, with the participation of two physiotherapists in the rehabilitation process and a physical education professional regarding the whole process we call post rehabilitation. In this sense, strength training proved to be beneficial, generating neural adaptations, increasing the functionality and coordination of specific muscle groups for certain movements, in addition to increases in flexibility, balance, coordination, conditioning, decreased fat percentage and increased lean body mass. This case report has as main objective: to describe how the evolutionary process of strength training occurred, in addition to other functional, social, physical and emotional aspects in a patient who presented GBS. Methodologically, a qualitative research approach was conducted with the application of an interview.

This book is a collection of essays on the colonial history of Mato Grosso, created soon after the doctorate as a kind of intellectual provocation for various questions and problems encountered during the research on the decline of mining and the slow formation of a new society. We begin with four essays more focused on what we understand as the historian's revenge, based on Walter Benjamin's Angel of History. Then follow several short essays on the colonial towns of Mato Grosso, mainly Cuiabá and Vila Bela. Finally, we address isolated issues such as smuggling, women in the colonial period, historiographical tradition, slavery, and mining. These essays aim more to provoke intellectual debate than to present some complete conclusion about something. They should be understood as a starting point and not as a point of arrival.

Ward Cunningham in his experience report at OOPSLA'92 introduced the metaphor of Technical Debt. This metaphor is related to immature, incomplete or inadequate artifacts in the software development cycle that cause high costs and low quality. A strategy for managing Technical Debt is still a challenge because it is something that is not part of the development process. Carolyn Seaman and Yuepu Guo proposed a framework for Technical Debt management based on three stages. Action research is conducted in two companies where their projects have significant Technical Debt. Three cycles of the action research are carried out based on the three stages of the framework for both companies. A fourth cycle is done considering the modified framework. The main contribution of this study is to provide real experiences and improvements for projects using Scrum that can adopt Seaman and Guo's Technical Debt management framework. Both teams recognized that the framework is feasible after some modifications.

This paper aims to address the nullity resulting from the absence of the corpus delicti examination in a criminal case, thus extinguishing the process in question. It also analyzes the possibility of conducting an indirect examination of the corpus delicti, which would be an exclusive option for crimes that leave no trace. However, not all indirect examinations have the validity expected by the legislator of the criminal procedural statute.

This paper intends to analyze the use of physical force as an element that composes the identity of former military police officers imprisoned in the Nelson Hungria Maximum Security Penitentiary. From their understanding of the use of physical force in the activities of maintaining public order, we seek to understand whether being a military police officer, for this group, is associated with the disproportionate use of physical force.

The designer must integrate all phases of the life cycle of the system and its components into his process. In response to globalization and the cross-border recognition of diplomas, Ivorian public universities switched over to the Licence-Master-Doctorat (LMD) system at the start of the 2012-2013 academic year. The aim of this reform is to boost the effectiveness and efficiency of universities' teaching arrangements, in terms of success rates and the professional integration of learners. A few years after its adoption (7 years), it is clear that implementation has been hampered. First of all, the internal players at Ivorian public universities - teachers, administrative and technical staff and students - do not seem to be sufficiently prepared to take ownership of this new higher education architecture, as it appears that awareness-raising and training initiatives have not been sufficiently focused on them.

The present study aimed to analyze research on the levels of flexibility of school children and adolescents. This is a literature review conducted in the Google Academic database, through the keywords: physical fitness, health of schoolchildren and flexibility, in the period from 2006 to 2015. In the literature found (16 articles) the schoolchildren had increasing average values of height and body mass throughout the ages. Moreover, flexibility showed a tendency to decline over the ages in both genders. This review confirmed that the flexibility shows to be an important component of the physical fitness related to health indicators of children and adolescents. However, in the adult phase, schoolchildren become less active and sedentary, consequently decreasing the body flexibility, thus harming their health. It is expected that the information gathered about the characteristics of the physical quality of schoolchildren's flexibility will provide a better understanding of the relationship between the growth during the school phase and the changes of this physical quality, increasing the knowledge of educators in the school and scientific areas about the health condition of students.

Democratic Management is a much discussed topic in Brazil about the existing management models in public schools. During the research it was possible to identify few practices with democratic characteristics such as family participation in school activities, as well as school projects that point to a possible quality of management practices.

The present work is the result of a meeting with the families of victims of enforced disappearance, which was developed with the interest of knowing the psychosocial impact on these families, it is important to recognise the objectives which emphasised the psychosocial impact at individual, family and social level, in search of a better understanding and clarification of information that allows to intensify in the possible changes and damages that the indirect victims must manage and face.

Over the past two decades, gender issues have become increasingly important in the labor market of developing countries. This study examines the effect of promoting women into formal employment on economic growth in Africa. To examine this relationship, we used data from 40 African countries over the period 2000 to 2019. The Granger causality test procedure of Dumitrescu and Hurlin (2012) and the GMM model are applied to the data. The results reveal a causal relationship between women's rate of access to formal employment and GDP per capita. The GMM model results show that investment, trade openness and women's access to formal employment have positive and significant effects on economic growth. The results suggest that African countries need to invest more, develop regional integration and promote women's formal employment for sustainable and inclusive development.

Internet advertising is a very dynamic sector. In recent years, we've seen some very advanced technological advances in targeting consumers on the Internet. And all this thanks to the use of two elements: technology and data. Since the beginning of marketing, the fundamental objective of every marketer has been to know how best to address his target. Perfect targeting has therefore always been the marketer's holy grail. From advertising orchestrated around the product, through advertising around the brand, to advertising based on the audience's personal data, there have been far-reaching ramifications that have greatly advanced advertising in terms of accuracy and relevance. In the end, what we've learned from this thesis is that our objection to the limits of behavioral research in intelligent advertising, with its tools mobilized to get as close as possible to the identity and behavior of the user, the consumer, is highly relevant.

This work is a summary of essential contents related to geosciences, and in particular to techniques, sciences and disciplines such as: topography, geodesy and cartography, respectively, aimed at the representation of different portions of our territory; resorting to the use of geotechnologies and equipment associated with geomatics principles and their applications in some areas of specialty, highlighting in this text: engineering projects, cadastre, environment, urban growth and territory.

Corporate taxation is one of the most difficult areas to manage. Admittedly, it is almost permanent, to the point of being considered invasive whatever the action taken by the company. It has undergone several fundamental reforms aimed at simplifying it, reducing tax rates and eliminating double taxation. Companies are, in fact, subject to an enormous risk of irregularity, so they need to control their tax environments as well as their own taxation, hence the need for control through tax audits. Getting to grips with tax is a key factor in business performance. The benefits are reason enough to encourage the practice. Companies therefore have an interest in adopting the practice of controlling tax risks to guard against adverse consequences in achieving their business objectives. Controlling tax risks enables companies to comply with regulations and ensure better internal communications between business units, monitoring and management of tax risks and understanding of their tax strategy.

When I am asked if I like being a teacher, I answer "It's an acquired taste," recalling a phrase used by Captain Janeway to describe her taste for black coffee (she is a character in the Star Trek Voyager series). Like any job, it has its good and bad things. It is not the path I had envisioned, but it is the one that was put before me in the most passable form.In the following post, I want to share something I have been doing for years, in an effort to help me in my work and hopefully also help my colleagues in a necessary but time-consuming task, the review of evaluations.What started as a thesis project, has ended up becoming one of my most vital work tools, and thanks to the insistence of a colleague, we made a joint publication to show the world what I had done. It's just one more grain of sand to help the teaching work, and if it inspires someone else to create something better, welcome.

In the 21st century, will knowledge, allied to a new spiritual awareness, make up for the scientific failure of the last century in the attempt to decode the unspeakable link that subtly connects the infinitely small to the infinitely large?

Psychosocial risks are a major issue for companies today. We hear the word "burn out" much more than we used to, to describe the overwork that employees suffer. But it's not just burn out, it's also stress and harassment, which are more prevalent or perhaps more widely publicised these days. The challenge was to understand the factors inherent in these psychosocial risks, in a sector with a reputation for being difficult. These factors can be both professional and personal. We tried to identify trends through interviews and we tried to provide companies with tools to improve the prevention of these risks.

Muscular performance in sports depends on a number of factors. The time of training is one of the elements that could influence this performance.The aim of this study was to evaluate the responses of muscle damage, testosterone and cortisol parameters following strength training sessions at different times in order to determine the best time of day for the development of muscular strength or hypertrophy.

An aging population presents social and economic challenges, with systematic and endogenous changes in economic behaviour, especially on savings. This scenario requires adjustments and reforms in social security and stimulus in complementary pension plans assisting people to a more balanced financial situation throughout life, generating family welfare. The objective of this research was to delineate the scientific approaches of aging in Brazil, identifying in these approaches the intention to collaborate with the definitions of public policies in the scope of social security and complementary pension plans.

Every year in Tunisia, livestock farmers face a shortage of feed for their animals, while the number of head continues to rise. Concentrated supplements are expensive and difficult to obtain. By contrast, multi-nutritional blocks, made from local agro-industrial rejects, are much cheaper. In addition, compensatory growth (nutritional restriction followed by a period of re-feeding) is a classic strategy for keeping farming costs down.Could feed blocks replace manufactured concentrate supplements without compromising lamb performance? What effect would they have on carcass and meat quality? Our experiment aims to verify the effect of administering multi-nutritional blocks based on olive pomace (32% oilcake) and compensatory growth on the lambs' zootechnical performance (weight gain, average daily gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio) and on the quality of the carcass and meat they produce.

This work was carried out in 2012 at the Faculty Institute of Agronomic Sciences of Yangambi in the province of Tshopo (DRC) and relates to the Test of the different proportions of proteins on the growth of juveniles of Distichodus antonii Schithuis 1891 in vivo. The objective of this work was to study the growth performance of Distichodus antonii juveniles in vivo.

This book analyses the therapeutic itineraries in Brazzaville. These are not independent of the dysfunction of the Congolese health system and the spatial and demographic evolution of the city. After reviewing the main concepts used in population health (Chapter 1), the general health indicators in the Congo will be reviewed (Chapter 2). Chapter 3 presents the organisation of healthcare provision in the Congo. Chapter 4 analyses urban sprawl and healthcare provision in Brazzaville, Chapter 5 looks at traditional medicine, and finally Chapter 6 analyses the thorny problem of the illegal sale of pharmaceutical products and its consequences.

The pastoral work of Father Xavier Biernaux presented in these pages is the fruit of relentless research carried out since 2015 with various collaborators of this Missionary of Africa (Père Blanc), born in Uccle, in a suburb of Brussels, who landed in the DRC, in Kivu, in 1963, to serve the people of God, within the Archdiocese of Bukavu. This book is a collection of testimonies celebrating the life of a living man who, even as he ages, still bears fruit, for the greater glory of God and the salvation of mankind.
