In recent years, there has been growing interest in the use of natural antioxidants. Many researchers have been interested in the use of essential oils in the food industry. The aim of this work is to study some of the characteristics of clove essential oil. This study shows that this oil is naturally rich in polyphenols and flavonoids. Evaluation of the antioxidant activity of EO by the DPPH test and the reducing power of Iron has shown very powerful reducing, antioxidant and anti-free radical powers associated with interesting anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities. The application of this essential oil in the formulation of a food product (salami) gave good acceptability, and to confirm this result we carried out a tasting test to assess the organoleptic quality of this new product. Taken together, the results presented here suggest that clove essential oil is a good potential source of active ingredients for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Today, the principle of non-discrimination is no longer applied as a simple tool to support the Union's economic integration process. It is now an autonomous principle, designed to protect the most fundamental rights of individuals, in line with the growing importance of the Europe of human rights that the Court has endeavored to build. This thesis traces the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning equal treatment from 2005 to 2011, and shows how the wise men of the Kirchberg plateau have sought to play an active part in the development of anti-discrimination protections within the European Union.

The dependence of individuals and organisations on computer networks and Internet technologies means that they are confronted with varying degrees of vulnerability, which are far from negligible. The general public's mastery of new technologies is leading to an increase in threats and a diversification of attack tools that are constantly being perfected. A security policy comprises a set of principles defining a strategy, guidelines, procedures, codes of conduct and organisational and technical rules. A network is regularly subject to numerous changes and modifications as technology develops and the need for security that goes with it increases. Small and large companies, as well as private individuals, demand cutting-edge technology to better protect their information systems and network interconnections.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) form a heterogeneous group of clonal hemopathies that are on the increase due to an aging population. Study objective: to establish the FAB and WHO 2008 classifications, IPSS and WPSS prognostic scores of 85 MDS diagnosed at our center over a 5-year period. The mean age of patients was 63.8 years. Anemia was present in 85% of patients. Dysplasia of the 3 erythroblastic, granular and megakaryocytic lineages was found in 75%, 85% and 68% of cases respectively. Cytogenetic abnormalities were present in 33% of cases, with 5q- abnormalities predominating. Refractory anemias and refractory cytopenias with multilineage dysplasia were most frequently observed. Low- and intermediate-risk groups1 according to the IPSS and low- and high-risk groups according to the WPSS were the most represented. Median survival was significantly different between prognostic groups. Transformation to acute myeloid leukemia occurred in 32% of cases. The risk of transformation was significantly different between MDS prognostic groups.

The problem of art synthesis has been a burning issue for art theorists and practitioners alike for decades. With the emergence of cinematography, the latter's influence on theater was a matter of time. And the first experiments in the synthesis of the two arts confronted stage directors with previously unknown theoretical and practical problems of interaction between the technogenic and "live" components of the production. As a result, there was an objective need to study the conceptual interrelations in a theatrical work based on the interaction of the artistic codes of the two spatial and temporal arts. For a synthetic production to be viable, the process of its creation requires the translation of the "language" of art, from which the borrowing is made, into the "language" of art in which the borrowing is incorporated. This, summarizing the problematic field, means that it is necessary to adapt and transform the borrowings produced, which leads to the question of the importance of understanding and working out the interdisciplinary connections within synthetic productions.

Sexuality is marked by intense changes influenced by perceptions and thoughts that guide different understandings that arise from cultural, economic, political and religious contexts. When we talk about sex, we refer to the biological characteristics that define humans as women and men. However, sexuality has been gaining proportions, taking space in the social environment, culminating in discussions in favour of reproductive and sexual rights. In this sense, we sought to analyze how pregnant women experience their sexuality during pregnancy. This is an exploratory research of qualitative approach. Identificou-se que a sexualidade na gravidez sofre diversas implicações a partir das transformações orgânicas inerentes à fase gestacional. The present study reinforces the importance of improvements and changes in all social sectors, in order to stimulate discussions about this theme, since both pregnancy and sexuality have been considered controversial issues often neglected in the family and in the approach of health professionals.

From the reading of many manuscripts and books of that time, I have drawn the conclusion that Humanism focuses on the evolution of humanity, of man and his society, and art, therefore literature, which tells us the acts of men that lead to their evolution, the various paths they follow to achieve their personal and social realization from the material world to the level of the spiritual, from immanence to transcendence. I am professor emeritus of the University of Salamanca, where I have explained the literature of the Golden Age.

In the DRC, despite all the efforts made with partners to promote the use of impregnated mosquito nets, malaria continues to pose a major public health problem due to its high morbidity and mortality, especially among children and pregnant women. The prospective study of the problem of the use of insecticide-impregnated mosquito nets in malaria prevention among children aged 0 to 5 years, using a survey method, aimed to assess the level of knowledge, attitudes and household practices related to the use of mosquito nets, and to identify the socio-cultural and economic factors linked to the low or non-use of mosquito nets in households with children under 5 years of age, in order to propose solutions. The study involved 375 households with children aged 0 to 5. The key results observed were: -97.6% of heads of households surveyed had heard of malaria, 60.2% believed that mosquitoes are found in stagnant water, 95.7% knew about mosquito bites as a means of transmission, 93% were informed about the advantages of using a mosquito net.

The olive tree is typical of the Mediterranean basin. However, this tree is susceptible to attack by a very dangerous pest, the olive fly (Bactrocera oleae). This document takes a look at this pest in terms of its host plant, morphology, phenology, the factors affecting its development and damage, and some proposed means of control.

The decentralization process currently underway in Mali aims to improve the living conditions and environment of the population. The international community is convinced of this, and has undertaken to support the Malian government in this somewhat complex process. With this in mind, the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ) has set up a Programme d'Appui aux Collectivités Territoriales (PACT/GIZ) to help local authorities achieve their full development potential by drawing up and implementing a Programme de Développement Économique, Social et Culturel (PDESC). This program enables communes to better organize and plan all the development activities they will have to undertake in the future to improve the well-being of their populations. It is in this context of assistance and support for the decentralization process that we proposed to carry out this study.

Studies show that chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are considered the greatest cause of death worldwide and that affects individuals of all age groups and ethnicities will grow, thus causing a greater number of deaths due to these diseases. Among the numerous NCDs, chronic kidney disease (CKD) has shown an increase in its prevalence worldwide in recent years. In turn, CKD is characterized by the gradual loss of kidney function over time and constitutes a major public health problem due to high rates of prevalence and/or death, which causes a negative impact on quality of life. Currently there are several scientific evidences that indicate improvements for this public through regular exercise practice, thus, the importance of adding knowledge to academics and health professionals who are interested in knowing the benefits generated to the health of these patients, as well as in their training to conduct training programs aimed at promoting quality of life bringing autonomy and well-being is of paramount importance.

The aim of this research and development project is to design the Alpha prototype of an educational serious game (ESG) specializing in learning to read. According to Alvarez and Djaouti (2010), what distinguishes a serious game from a strictly ludic video game is the addition of a pedagogical dimension to the game scenario. The aim of this SSG is to help French-speaking primary school children, aged 6 to 8, who have reading difficulties or symptoms associated with developmental dyslexia. Several research studies (Blaesius and Fleck, 2015 ; Franceschini, Gori, Ruffino, Molteni and Facoetti, 2013 ) have demonstrated the benefits of action video games in educational settings, particularly for children with dyslexia. Our initial hypothesis is to propose the addition of a serious dimension to an action video game consisting of exercises adapted to the student. As part of this dissertation project, a prototype JSÉ was produced, and an evaluation of the user experience was carried out with the target audience. The experimental results are promising. However, modifications will have to be made.

The aim of the present work on the concept of intentionality is to account for the epistemological shift in a philosophy that focuses on mental states and social facts on the basis of intentionality. In this way, intentionality is reduced to the realm of phenomenology. Intentionality is not only related to a single mental state (consciousness), but to all other so-called intentional mental states, such as belief, desire, intention, admiration and so on. It is also an indispensable instrument in the construction of social reality. From Searle onwards, intentionality becomes a concept that ensures disciplinary connection.

The influence of NICTs on human resources management has been the subject of a great deal of thought by both legal experts and human resources managers. Legal experts have discussed the conditions for reconciling "cybersurveillance" mechanisms with employees' fundamental right to privacy, while human resources managers have measured the influence of NICTs on organizational flexibility. So how can we reconcile or adapt "cybersurveillance" to the demands of the right to privacy? This book is interesting for two reasons. On the one hand, it takes stock of the ways in which companies monitor employee behavior, and on the other, it assesses their legitimacy in light of the need for corporate social responsibility. This book is aimed at companies, trade unions and employers' organizations, government ministries in charge of labor, academics, corporate lawyers and human resources managers, specialized HR firms, judges and lawyers, students and cyberlaw researchers.

Alongside the whole legal arsenal and despite the laws and regulations, we hear speeches; we see symbols and practices that are increasingly attracting the attention of the researcher. This study focuses on the use of religious mechanisms by public administration employees to safeguard, secure and preserve their jobs. In the end, public administrative structures are never what they seem or pretend to be. They must be considered on at least two levels: one superficial, presenting the 'official' structures, and the other deeper, allowing access both to the more fundamental real relationships and to the practices that reveal the dynamics of the surrounding social system. What can we learn from this research? "Man is not good, it is society that corrupts him". If recourse to religious mechanisms to secure employment was corruption, this is induced by the family sphere, social representations, job insecurity and politicisation, favouritism, malice, sabotage and their corollaries, which are commonplace in Benin's public administration.

Process engineering is responsible for planning all the production processes of a company for their correct execution. The use of resources and production techniques require a prior design for its correct implementation. This is when process engineering comes into play, optimizing all the systems that are implemented within a company, so that production can meet the expected and desired objectives. The main objective of process engineering is to ensure that the company obtains the maximum results. The processes are executed by the different managers of each of the phases of the project and the process engineer defines how these processes are carried out. To do this, process engineering applies rules and principles to simplify, streamline or improve a given process. It is the method that is responsible for analyzing, modifying and improving a process in order to achieve more efficient performance.

The most important thing for a student, after having undergone a number of assessment processes during his or her university education, is to acquire a wide range of skills in terms of knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills. The quality of learning and the relevance of research are two necessary and fundamental qualities that drive students to choose scientific methods intimately to present their work, hence the need to equip themselves with the methodology of writing and presentation. The aim of this book is to help students and new researchers master the techniques of written and oral presentation of their work through simple, unambiguous instructions. The content is divided into eight chapters, divided into two parts: writing methodology and presentation methodology.

The main objective of this article is to analyze the possibility of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court over the Islamic State. The Court is the only existing legal instrument capable of punishing those who commit crimes elevated to universal character by the International Community. The proposed theme is treated by scholars and scientists due to its actuality and recent terrorist attacks of the terrorist organization in the West and East. The article refers mainly to the effectiveness of the jurisdiction of the Rome Statute, exposing the peculiar characteristics of the Islamic State and the possibility of punishment of Western countries attacked by the Islamic State that prefer the use of force over the use of the legal legal instrument.

Hydrocarbons continue to weigh heavily on the Algerian economy, accounting for 45% of GDP and 60% of tax revenues. The aim of this study is to highlight the different levels of tax pressure in Algeria and the contributive capacity of the Algerian economy, by presenting the evolution of the different components of compulsory deductions. This work is based on an analysis of statistical data to better illustrate the evolution of the different levels of tax pressure, i.e., the rate of ordinary tax pressure, tax pressure extended to oil tax revenues and the overall rate of compulsory levies. This approach is recommended to avoid the impact of the duality of the structure of the economy on tax revenues. By comparing the case of Algeria with that of other countries, we have attempted to determine the limits that must not be exceeded in order to achieve appropriate and adequate rates for greater economic efficiency, and the possibility of increasing ordinary resources to compensate for the fall in oil taxation.

The monograph is a collection that contains theoretical and practical material for working with students in Europic groups, according to the current curriculum. The use of "dead" languages is very convenient in this respect because, first, each word has a definite meaning fixed once and for all and, second, the Latin and Greek roots, having penetrated into all modern languages, have become international.

Most companies incorporated in Brazil are of micro and small size, and operate with a family management, which often mixes the company's assets with the partners' assets, making accounting useless to control assets, leaving them unable to know whether the social objective is being achieved. The survey research occurred with the application of a questionnaire, after content validity, pre-test and construct validity. The purpose was diagnosis where dependent and independent variables were verified, and the deductive method was used to validate the hypotheses by the comparative and statistical method with bivariate rules. The result was that family companies actually neglect the entity postulate, according to the analysis of the data collected and the bibliography consulted.

What I share in these pages are years of reflections and courage to write how I perceive things and the behaviour of people, with whom I interact. The idea of putting everything together in a compendium was the idea of the Editor, who showed interest in my technical scientific work, experiences and thoughts, developed in my twenty-one years of uninterrupted work as a Psychologist. I present it in the way I have been locating it, in the different spaces where I have written and shared my works. It is about opinion articles, short messages focusing commemorative dates, subjects of lectures given in different contexts and with different clients, articles of course conclusion works, and related research, in a total of 34 texts. The readers interested in the contents and practices of Psychology will have approaches that will serve as motivating stimuli to go in search of self-knowledge. Diving inside themselves and rescuing their stories, sensations and oneiric contents will give them more opportunities for qualitative experiences and psychological health.

This work aims to identify the uses and possibilities of using the interactive digital whiteboard for the production of knowledge in the Escola Municipal Professor Florentino Menezes/SE, in order to offer students a consistent teaching with the demands of the contemporary social context. Specifically, it was sought to investigate which technologies are used to address the different subjects in the training of students of the researched educational institution, investigating about the skills and abilities of teachers in the use of the resources of the interactive digital whiteboard in their teaching practice, in order to know the perceptions of students and teachers about the contribution of the interactive digital whiteboard for the acquisition of knowledge in a more efficient and effective way.

Had we not been afraid of being too ambitious, we would have given our third book on the Phoenician trilogy a second subtitle: Introduction to a Philosophy of History. For such is the ultimate purpose of this essay. When we examined the myths of the Phoenix, El, Baal, Adonai and Moloch, fundamental conceptions of historical Lebanon, we were particularly struck by their antagonism and complementarity, followed by an obvious anti-historical dynamic. A very feminine attitude, as well as a desire to reject the history of a "race slaughtered" by the greatest misfortunes ever borne by a nation. Our sociocriticism fits into this framework of analysis, while going beyond structural or other models of analysis. It would never be possible to ignore such a fact: here, more than anywhere else, men suffer the unfortunate consequences of the gods' battles. Between the terror of Moloch, the devourer of humans, and the redemptive forces of the Phoenix, Lebanon's destiny seems to be forever being replayed.

This monograph reflects the results of the study of socio-psychological characteristics of co-dependence and its impact on the personal characteristics of co-dependents. Based on the analysis of theoretical and methodological bases of social and psychological peculiarities of co-dependency and applied empirical studies of personality traits of co-dependent persons the authors study factors and laws of addictive behaviour development, its characteristics and types. Psychodiagnostic methods of studying personality traits of co-dependent persons offered in the monograph let deeply study and understand factors, regularities and dynamics of development of co-dependency and build rehabilitation and correctional work taking into account these traits. We hope that the monograph will be useful and interesting for psychologists, psychotherapists, specialists in the field of addiction and co-dependent behaviour.
