La presente investigación partió del tema que actualmente involucra a la población mundial, especialmente a los niños de diferentes regiones: el sobrepeso y la obesidad. Esta cuestión se abordó con especial atención a los niños de la Institución Social Projeto Caminhando Juntos (CAJUN) que indican sobrepeso y obesidad con alto Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC). Partiendo del principio de que los ambientes, la tecnología, la alimentación y la reducción en la práctica de actividades físicas son típicos de la generación del siglo XXI, se realizó una investigación sobre las posibles causas del sobrepeso y la obesidad infantil asociadas a estos factores. Así, el análisis se realizó con niños que asisten a la Institución Social Projeto Caminhando Juntos (CAJUN), en el barrio de Bonfim, en Vitória/ES, con el objetivo de investigar las posibles causas del aumento de peso y sus impactos en la salud y en el desempeño de las actividades cotidianas. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron los siguientes instrumentos: recolección de medidas antropométricas de los niños, entrevistas con familiares y encuesta bibliográfica.

This study is part of the Research Line Public Policies and Management in Education of the Master's Degree Programme in Education at the Federal University of Uberlândia and its central theme is: "The Digital Inclusion Policies of Municipal Public Schools in Uberlândia". Based on a historical contextualization of computerized systems and the phenomenon of digital inclusion in the scope of Brazilian basic education, the purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the public policies of digital inclusion formulated and implemented in the municipal public school network of Uberlândia - RPME/UDI, in the period 1999-2012. The objectives of this work were: a) to describe and critically analyse the historical process of emergence and diffusion of computerized systems and their relationship with education as a possibility of promotion of public policies of "digital inclusion"; b) to analyse the historical path of digital inclusion policies in the field of education, prescribed and developed in Brazil and; c) to describe and analyse the policies of digital inclusion, prescribed and instituted in the municipality of Uberlândia based on the study of official documentation and the perceptions of teachers.

The value of agricultural activities and the usefulness of this sector lies not only in advanced techniques for preserving harvested produce, but also in the financial income that these agricultural products can generate for households. The territory of Mwenga, which was the target of our analysis, is an agro-pastoral area with a climate and soil favorable to all crops: food crops, market garden produce and industrial crops. Average yields per hectare and production in tonnes differ from one crop to another, depending on the growing season and soil conditions. The explosion in demand for cassava offers farmers the opportunity to intensify production and improve their incomes. But the move to intensive monoculture entails risks, notably the recrudescence of pests and diseases, and soil impoverishment. However, applying the "Produce more with less" model of agriculture, based on an ecosystem approach, enables cassava farmers to exploit cassava's full potential, i.e. to achieve higher yields and combat rural poverty.

The use of didactic models to illustrate Mendel's crossings is one of the options for working these concepts in a different way. Creating a simulation so that students can analyze how the crossings performed by Mendel in the experiments that were the basis for the First Law happened. The present study proposes the use of a didactic model to aid in the understanding of the basic concepts and crossings of Mendel's First Law in order to create an alternative approach to the expository-dialogical strategies.

The binding of an ose, frequently glucose, to proteins is a common biochemical reaction leading to the formation of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs). The permanent hyperglycemia observed during diabetes leads to an increase in the glycation rate of proteins, with consequent impairment of their functions. Several authors have demonstrated the link between the accumulation of AGEs in various organs and the microvascular and macrovascular complications observed in diabetes. Other studies have shown that these diabetic complications and several other metabolic diseases result from a series of deleterious processes initiated by AGEs. These include receptor-mediated inflammation, conformational changes in macromolecules leading to aggregate accumulation, and an immune response mediated by the immunogenicity of AGEs.The main therapeutic approaches for the treatment of diabetes involve insulin administration, inhibition of polysaccharide-digesting enzymes (alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase) and glycation inhibitors.

In addition to beauty, which has everything to please, the low thermal inertia of the earth and the water coming from the vegetables on the roof generate properties which improve the quality of life of users.

Here we find a horizontal analysis of Michel Foucault's thought in what distinguishes it: the use of language. I refer to the conceptual framework, the specific terminology employed by this illustrious author as he seeks to give intelligibility to a critical stance that aims to investigate historical events in what they have as the most concrete: human action stripped of any universal a priori, inserted in its own context, in its specific moment: its contingency. This monograph reveals itself then as an effort to study the philosophy of ideas as proposed by Foucault, identifying in the specific instrumentalisation of concepts and in the analytical stance chosen to employ them the fundamental point from where the power of Foucauldian thought emanates for critical incursions into the present - something for which the study exercise carried out for the process that resulted in this monograph intends to serve as a basis.

The objective of this study was to diagnose the management of solid waste in the Basic Health Units (BHU) of the Municipality of Parelhas, in Rio Grande do Norte - RN. For this, a descriptive research was carried out, with a quantitative approach, in 8 Unidades Básicas de Saúde (Basic Health Units) of the municipality of Parelhas/RN. Data collection was performed in the month of July 2022, through the application of a Roadmap for observation of the management of health service waste within the units, prepared based on the Resolution of the Collegiate Board No. 222/2018 of the National Health Surveillance Agency. Through the observations and application of the checklist, it was possible to identify the management of group A (Infectious), B (Chemical), C (Radioactive), D (Common) and E (Piercing) waste. In all UBS no group C waste was found. The packaging of these wastes is mostly contradictory to what is proposed by the standard and the current legislation. It was identified that the waste does not undergo any type of treatment before temporary storage, and that all units have an outsourced company for the collection and final disposal of Health Service Waste.

Interactive learning in automation and industrial processes -development of a semi-virtual industrial laboratory is a publication aimed at technicians, technologists, engineering students and engineers who work in the areas of automation, mechatronics and electrical engineering, as well as professionals who wish to keep up to date. In this book, a semi-virtual laboratory is proposed and implemented, composed of a virtual plant, a supervisory system, a real plant and a PLC. The virtual industrial plant can be used as a model for the development of a wide variety of plants that emulate real industrial plants, being suitable for teaching automation and control, as well as by companies for training employees or even testing control routines before applying them to the real system. The fundamentals regarding PLC as well as the implementation of the semi-virtual laboratory are detailed.

The oil industry has many challenges, among the main ones are the development of materials with resistance to corrosion and wear. The objectives of this work are to obtain a nanometric coating and to analyze its wear rate. The coating was a mixture of 5% WC-CoCr (used in commercial form and milled at times of 3, 6 and 12 hours) in a Ni-Cr matrix. The coating was deposited by HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel). Tribological, profilometry, roughness, microhardness and Raman tests were performed. The processing of WC-CoCr, in the time of 6 hours, increased the wear resistance, as well as its addition in a Ni-Cr matrix.

By going through several areas of knowledge, the idea is to search for the "Biocosmic Aesthetics", through Art, Education and Enlargement of the Being's conscience, to enable an education that is between through and beyond any discipline, focused on the "Wholeness of Being", on the sensitive, on the sense of Aesthetics, which indicates the capacity of the human being to feel himself and the world in an integrated, related whole. A process that implies an ethical, pedagogical, and epistemological posture of commitment to the truth of Being.

Tuberculosis (TB) is an important public health problem in Brazil, which ranks 18th in the ranking of nations with the highest rates of TB. The investigation of contacts of people diagnosed with TB is considered essential for the prevention of illness and the early diagnosis of active TB in the population, and should, therefore, be carried out primarily by primary health care, elected as the preferred gateway for people with TB. The study sought to investigate the occurrence of tuberculosis among household contacts. This is a quantitative, descriptive study carried out with household contacts of tuberculosis in the municipality of Caxias-MA. The study sample was composed of 64 household contacts of patients notified as a case of tuberculosis, in the period from January to December 2015. Data collection occurred in the period from April to May 2016. The incidence rate of the disease among the contacts was around 4.7%.

This research aims to identify the main characteristics of a new visual order in the age of the information society. Such a transformation of the regime effects society, social relationships and the construction of individual identities. Social media are the spheres in which we can observe the new identity strategies. Instagram in particular is a social media that shows us the visualization of the regime directly. As new players in this new order, Instagram mothers are at the heart of this study because of the visuality of their identity construction. But the key point about these mothers is their use of infantile imagery. On the one hand, this visualisation of children raises issues of intimacy and exhibition. On the other hand, through the mothers' perception of their children, we observe self-indicative and self-referential characteristics based on the perfection of motherhood through the perfect child, which we cannot evaluate in isolation from the ideology of motherhood.

This work had as main objective to analyze the level of application of GSCM practices allied to the TQM practices in a collective transport vehicle maintenance workshop, also verifying the barriers and incentives for implementation and main results obtained. This is a qualitative research of exploratory nature, along with the case study methodology that aimed to investigate how the green practices have been incorporated into the management of the organization. A case study and bibliographical review were carried out. With the consolidation of the results, it became evident that the analyzed company is aligned with the management of the green supply chain due to several evidences found in the study carried out. In general, the contribution of this study to the production engineering field is linked to the development of sustainable supply chains generating knowledge about green policies in supplier networks as well as customers.

Legal power (authority) is distinct from the actual exercise of decision-making power (influence). Thus, to exercise decision-making power in a collegial context, every player involved must be capable of influencing, if necessary, if he or she wants to get his or her opinion across. Indeed, it is the party or person who influences a decision who truly wields power, since power in terms of influence is a balance of power and is exercised in a context of interaction. To influence, however, you need to possess the necessary resources in the field concerned to ensure effective argumentation. It's a question of being able to justify one's opinions with well-founded arguments. This book raises the issue of how parents exercise their decision-making power within the school. It shows that, while parents have been given the legal power to decide on certain matters relating to school life, their power is limited, as they rarely possess the expertise likely to influence decisions made by school councils. This book can serve as an awareness-raising tool for any mixed group exercising collegial power.

The present research started from the theme that currently involves the world population, especially children from different regions: overweight and obesity. This issue was addressed with special focus on children of the Social Institution Projeto Caminhando Juntos (CAJUN) that indicate overweight and obesity with high Body Mass Index (BMI). Starting from the principle that environments, technology, food and the reduction in the practice of physical activities are typical of the generation of the 21st century, a research on the possible causes of overweight and obesity in children associated to these factors was carried out. Thus, the analysis was made with children who attend the Projeto Caminhando Juntos Social Institution (CAJUN), in the Bonfim neighborhood in Vitória/ES, in order to investigate the possible causes of weight gain and its impacts on health and on the performance of daily activities. For data collection, the following instruments were used: collection of anthropometric measurements of the children, interviews with family members and bibliographic survey.

In an ever-changing world, the profitability of companies is no longer the sole concern of management. Under pressure from the media, a growing number of companies are incorporating a social responsibility component. Indeed, a company's image and its impact on the world are now inseparable from its growth and profitability. Many articles mention the link between CSR and corporate performance, without establishing a direct connection between the two. The aim of this book is to examine how CSR can influence the various financial indicators of SBF120 companies. In the first part, we examine the theory behind these two concepts. In the second part, we use SPSS software to analyze financial data and ESG disclosure scores gathered from Bloomberg, a source of information for financial market professionals. The third section illustrates the difficulty of establishing a direct correlation between all financial indicators and the CSR projects symbolized by the evolution of ESG variables.

The research is linked to the area of concentration on Vocational and Technological Education, developed in the Postgraduate Program in Vocational and Technological Education, of the Industrial Technical College/UFSM, composing the studies carried out in Research Line 1: Policies and Management in Vocational and Technological Education. This study started from questions raised at the meetings of the Accessibility Commission of the UFSM, which led to a reflection on the process of inclusion in Professional and Technological Education. Thus, this research has as its theme the implementation of the public policy TECNEP Action, aimed at the inclusion of people with special educational needs in Vocational and Technological Education (EFA). The problematization is about which movements and experiences were developed when this action was implemented in the Farroupilha Federal Institute, in the São Vicente do Sul campus.

This case study consists of a diagnosis of the reality of the inclusion of deaf students in regular classrooms of the municipal school of elementary education "Dom Alonso", in the city of Soure PA. It aims, from the diagnosis, to problematize the integration of these students, their main challenges and advances through the process of teaching and learning. The study is based primarily on the publications of Mantoan, among other scholars of inclusion, the history of deafness and education, in addition to national and international official documents that ensure everyone the right to education in the regular education system. The approach adopted in the exploratory research prioritized qualitative research method. The research subjects were three deaf students, their respective teachers and their guardians, and the Special Education Coordinator of the municipality of Soure.

Soft-tissue sarcomas of the limbs are rare malignant tumors arising from connective tissue. Their rarity, the diversity of histological types and localizations, and the heterogeneity of the evolutionary risk make their diagnosis and treatment an extremely difficult undertaking, with many uncertainties. The aim of this study was to examine the epidemiological, clinical, radiological and pathological features of soft tissue sarcomas, as well as the various diagnostic and therapeutic stages, in order to establish recommendations for standardizing and improving the management of these tumors. Our study was retrospective, covering a period of 11 years. The mean follow-up period was 42 months. Clinical, radiological and anatomopathological data, together with the results of treatment, were analyzed and compared with the literature. The management of soft tissue sarcomas must be carried out in a referral center and be part of a true therapeutic strategy involving a multidisciplinary team in order to ensure optimal results.

Valuable works of African art, allegedly looted by the colonial power, are often claimed, rightly or wrongly, by their former owners so that they can be returned to the continent. The question that remains unanswered is whether they will be kept there unharmed, as they are in the hands of their new masters. However, the mediocrity that plagues Gondwana, from cast-iron frying pans to household utensils, leads us to bet that destruction will take precedence over conservation. The chances of these much sought-after works being safe from the destroyer once their managers change are very slim. There is a risk that they will suffer the same fate as the tombs and mausoleums in Timbuktu. In place of all these silent documents and other works of value that will be returned to their natural masters, I suggest that the good curators who have long guarded all these possessions should keep in their libraries the African oral art conveyed by the proverbs, maxims and sentences collected in this book, at a time when its original users are content with a culture that is half fig, half grape, or neither fig nor grape.

"The idea of the research presented in this book arose from the constant questions I asked about how to apply my academic knowledge in a practical and accessible way, something that could actually make a difference in the community, because I was often reflecting on the fact that I was completing one of the courses considered to be the most difficult (chemistry), but at the same time not knowing how to apply all this academic knowledge in a pragmatic way. Facing these conflicts, I started to research the destinations given to the waste. This is because if I could produce something useful from something useless, that is, from leftovers, I would certainly be applying my knowledge in one of the most noble and elegant ways possible. That was how I came to know about the technology of biodigesters and, with the support of my family, I undertook the construction of a biodigester in the municipality of Iracema-CE, which is still in operation today, and whose construction I detail in this work, demonstrating its simplicity and accessibility.

Cooperatives contribute to economic, social, cultural and environmental development, and are a key means of combating poverty in every municipality in the country. They face a number of challenges, including poor governance, weak structuring capacity, heavy dependence on state subsidies and lack of self-financing capacity. COOP-CAMEROON and its sectoral organisations are the driving force behind sustainable development and the structural transformation of the national economy, the Central African sub-region and the OHADA area.
