Biofilm is a sessile microbial community on a living or inert surface. On dairy farms, biofilms inevitably form on wet equipment surfaces. There are two types, the positive biofilm consisting of flora of technological interest such as lactic acid bacteria that play an important role in preventing the adhesion of pathogenic microorganisms and the negative biofilm which consists of floraflora and pathogenic flora. The negative biofilm can detach from the equipment and contaminate the raw milk, causing alteration of its organoleptic quality and can be the cause of serious diseases

Working in a psychiatric hospital has its own particularities when compared with other hospital structures. This is due to the nature of the patients being cared for, the relationship that develops between the carer and the patient, and the isolation that society creates and reinforces for patients with mental disorders and their carers. In the medical field, suffering, ill-being and illness are centred on and defined for the patient. Hospitals focus in particular on the patient-caregiver, his or her follow-up and the quality of the services provided, given that the patient is the bearer of somatic and/or psychological ill-being. But what about the carer, who suffers in the course of providing care? This is an issue that deserves particular attention. My work as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric environment has enabled me to see this suffering among my colleagues and to try to decipher it from a sociological angle other than a medical one.

Bee pollen is an important product of the hive, with a chemical composition and biological properties, which vary according to the production region, age and botanical species of the plant from which the bee collects the pollen and agroecological conditions at the time of collection. The objective of the study was to evaluate the influence of preservation methods on the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of bee pollen preserved by freezing, freeze-drying and oven-drying techniques at 35ºC, 40ºC and 45ºC, during 9 months of storage. Thus, the contents of moisture, ash, protein, fat, sugars and total phenolic compounds were evaluated, in addition to the antioxidant activity by the DPPH method and reducing power, immediately after the application of each preservation technique after 1, 3, 6 and 9 months. In general, considering the maintenance of the nutritional value of the pollen, freeze-drying proved to be the most appropriate preservation technique, having, however, a more evident negative impact on the content of total phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of the pollen, when compared to the oven-drying technique at the highest temperature, i.e. 45°C.

Universities have been demanded to modernize their management and processes to achieve greater efficiency in the performance of their activities and better quality of service. As complex organizations, which work directly with knowledge, they need to adopt a managerial model that allows them to manage knowledge and preserve the organizational memory. As a large part of the knowledge in universities is held by their collaborators, this research, based on Knowledge Management techniques, proposed to investigate knowledge sharing practices involving the main administrative sectors linked to the School of Engineering (EE) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). To this end, a Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) was developed and applied to technical-administrative education employees (TAEs) in key sectors of the EE. The analyses revealed important elements that come to the aid of administrative management, based mainly on the improvement of institutional knowledge sharing.

This book presents a study based on the concepts and artificial neural architectures and their applications in general, and specifically pattern recognition. The Borland Delphi 7 platform and programming language is used to implement two systems, one for image recognition and the other for sound recognition. The Borland Delphi programming language uses some components that simulate the architecture and concepts of MLP (multilayer perceptron) and SOM (Self Organizing Map) networks. In order to work with both types of pattern recognition, we use two independently programmed applications with two different artificial neural networks, one that performs image recognition, and the other that performs sound recognition. We use character type images for the image recognition network, in the application in question we specifically use images of digits. And the sound recognition network uses the concept of sound tones for recognition, so it will be specifically recognized sound tones idealizing the reproduction of the sound of a telephone keypad.

In this study, we review the various hurdles that a legal case has to jump through, from the initiation of the public prosecution to the referral of the case to the trial court. The speed with which cases brought before the military courts are dealt with is a requirement of the order and discipline that must prevail at all times within the army. However, speed should not be confused with haste, which often leads to injustice. On the contrary, speed must be synonymous with technicality, rigour and, above all, scrupulous respect for the principles of a clear, transparent procedure that is mindful of the interests of the community and the legitimate concerns of victims and defendants. This is why the code judiciaire militaire, a tool par excellence for magistrates and court officers, must be understood and handled with great care, and its provisions must not be taken in isolation. Rather, they should be placed in the general context of the law in order to understand its spirit.

The primary source of soil contamination in the world is man-made anthropogenic activities. Specifically in mining, tailings management is an inherently hazardous activity, often involving chemical processing residues and high levels of metals. In many cases, tailings are deposited in large ponds where they are preserved by means of dams called tailings dams. The collapse of tailings dams can have serious environmental, human health and safety impacts. In recent years, it has been proposed in the case of gold and silver mines to replace the cyanide (CN-) leaching agent with less toxic compounds such as thiocyanate (SCN-) and thiourea (TSN). However, no studies of soil contamination with these compounds have been carried out. The present work aims to contribute to scientific knowledge in this important aspect.

Over the past three decades, the perception of sexual violence has changed considerably. It is now recognized that men and boys are victims of sexual violence. However, the body of research on men and boys as victims, and particularly on their perpetrators, is much more limited. Research on the above is therefore more than necessary. To contribute to this quest, the researcher conducted a study on sexual violence perpetrated against men and boys by women in the municipality of Ibanda, city of Bukavu, province of Sud-Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The study of ancient traditions, to appreciate them at their true value, is necessary at this time when the policy of our country is that of recourse to Authenticity, recourse to our own and ancestral values. To explain certain values misunderstood or simply ignored by those who spoke of this culture, the Lèga children are invited to exploit it. The tribe that we know best is that of the Balègà (b¿lèg¿) where traditional education is essentially moral and is given during vigils through proverbs, songs, tales, fables, riddles and chantefables. We have preferred to analyze this educational system through songs and fables collected mainly in the territory of SHABUNDA.

Getting learners to speak spontaneously and naturally has always posed difficulties for teachers who try to apply a variety of teaching strategies so that learners can develop their ability to express themselves in a foreign language. Given the importance of this problem, we decided to carry out a study aimed at identifying and analyzing the strategies used by A1-level teachers at the Alliance Française de Xalapa to encourage oral production in their learners. To accomplish this task, we used two research instruments: semi-directive interviews and lesson observation. The aim of our work is therefore to present the results of a qualitative analysis based on the use of teaching strategies, resulting in a repertoire of the teaching strategies most frequently used by the teachers observed.

A study on the impact of logging operations has been carried out at SODEFOR (Développement forestier) to verify whether or not the company is logging sustainably. The results obtained prove that SODEFOR does not use reduced impact logging (RIL) techniques, which are now considered a major tool for the sustainable management of tropical forests. Nevertheless, SODEFOR is committed to the process of sustainable forest management, and following pressure from the international community, it appears that the Congolese state does not control forest royalties.

The importance of the ability to speak is well established! From the journalist behind the camera, to the lawyer in front of the judge, to the politician in front of the voter, the doctor in front of the patient, the teacher in front of the pupil or even the pastor in front of the faithful, the practice of speech remains inescapable. Eloquence is a refined, sublimated, refined and enlightened form of speech, based on functional communication in search of conviction and persuasion. It's the practice of speaking out of the ordinary. Its importance today is indisputable if we are to excel in society. This book "au chevet des Mots", which retraces a voice's pilgrimage along the path of eloquence, is particularly aimed at students wishing to embark on the path of eloquence through their voices. But it may also be of interest to novices, and even to those who have mastered the art of words, for it is said that we learn every day. This modest work is intended to be simple, concise and precise, sparing the reader the detours, contours and literary edges of the subject matter, and getting straight to the heart of it.

Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is a therapeutic procedure indicated for many hematological diseases and in the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation unit (UTMO) nursing care is shown to be differentiated in relation to other services. Considering the complexity of the sector and the criticality of the patients, the nurse with excessive care in the pre, intra and post-transplant, it becomes challenging for this patient to experience this transition having specific guidelines to improve the quality of life, which the nurses do be resolutive, for insertion of the hospital discharge plan. Regarding the transplanted, the effective recovery of the bone marrow occurs slowly over six to twelve months, a period in which the patient still needs continuous health care and is at risk of developing complications, often requiring subsequent hospitalizations, mainly due to the lack of knowledge of the home care. In view of the above, the objective of this research was the development of software for planning the hospital discharge of bone marrow transplant patients, guaranteeing the guidelines for their effective recovery.

This psycho-pedagogical work is the fruit of theoretical and statistical research into the problem of children's school age and academic performance. Using a targeted population of children from the SIL in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and distinguishing between pupils of normal school age and those of early school age, a test based on the fractiles of the Normal Law shows that early enrolment in elementary school leads to inequality of opportunity, as evidenced by the fact that the latter have lower marks than those enrolled at normal school age. However, our research did reveal some special cases. These are learners who, despite being enrolled early in elementary school, nevertheless have very good marks. Faced with this situation, one question comes to mind: aren't there other factors influencing students' knowledge acquisition? These other avenues of research deserve to be explored if we are to find a global answer to the question of optimal conditions for children's schooling.

Recently, metagenomics has emerged as an alternative to conventional microbiological screening methods, since it allows comprehensive study of microbial communities in their natural environment. Here, we used this technique to assess the extent and diversity of resistance mechanisms in microbial communities associated with the rhizosphere of Erica andevalensis, an extremophilic heather endemic to the Rio Tinto river, Spain. To this end, we built a metagenomic library based on the pBluescript SKII+ plasmid as cloning vector, accepting inserts ranging in size from 2500bp to 8000bp (base pair). Our library included 60,000 clones, to which we subjected four antibiotics: nalidixic acid, tetracycline, streptomycin and kanamycin. Against these, we isolated a resistant clone with MIC = 10¿g/ml. Sequencing of the insert and subsequent bioinformatics analysis revealed it to be an aminoglycoside phosphotransferase APH III, which acts by phosphorylation deactivation of the antibiotic.

With a view to contributing to the sustainable management of natural resources in the Kingomansala groupement a descriptive and analytical study was carried out from February to June 2017 to analyze the agricultural techniques exploited by professional farmers in order to assess their impacts on the balance of forest ecosystems. Field observations supported by village surveys showed that 90% of the targeted sample are sowing farmland that is less fertile than it used to be; the majority of the population of the Kingomansala group, i.e. 62%, is no longer achieving the expected crop yield, and 64% of those surveyed acknowledge having lost arable land. Among the causes linked to access to fertile soil in the terroir, 62% of the population incriminate deforestation and 30% attribute this to demographic pressure. Innovative and environmentally-friendly agroforestry practices need to be popularized in order to sedentarize slash-and-burn agriculture; mesological education needs to be stimulated to raise the awareness of the local population by bringing together a range of alternative activities contributing to sustainable development.

This study of the epistemological thought of Henri Poincaré (1854-1912) has a dual aim: firstly, to identify and analyze the main sources of inspiration for his epistemological reflections on physics; secondly, to analyze the content of these reflections as they relate to the method, evolution and structure of physical theories. They reveal thematic commitments favoring theoretical pluralism, criticism of ontological assumptions and the role of regulating principles and analogies. They are particularly illuminating for the stage in the history of physics that corresponds to what Poincaré calls the physics of principles.

The profession of lawyer is one of nobility and dignity, the exercise of which requires the lawyer to respect various obligations. Violation of these legal and regulatory obligations may result in liability. Taking a hard look at the question of the lawyer's liability in its broadest sense raises a number of questions, in particular: what does the notion of the lawyer's liability entail, and what are the legal conditions for its implementation? This book provides a comprehensive answer to this question, presenting the different responsibilities of lawyers and the legal conditions governing their implementation. Finally, the book concludes with a draft of solutions to ensure a better understanding of the concept and conditions of implementation of the lawyer's liability in the Congo.
