The Faidherbe Bridge, with its imposing metal silhouette, is a real technological feat, and the ingenuity of its design is unparalleled. Indeed, the complexity of its exceptional shapes and structures hint at the expertise and fascinating technical mastery that went into its construction. Our observation of the bridge and our intellectual curiosity have motivated our desire to study the characteristics, structures and technical data of the Faidherbe Bridge in order to unravel its mystery. Its historic reputation around the world is still very much alive. Today, the Faidherbe Bridge often encourages tourists to make a diversion to Saint-Louis in Senegal to admire this architectural jewel rich in history.

Career management is one of the major concerns of human capital management. Career is just as important for the executive as it is for the line worker. Joseph PIERRE attributes two facets to it. Mural paintings, born of a human need for communication, are a form of artistic expression. A subset of graffiti, murals are pictures painted directly onto the wall of a building, usually by visual artists. Our study is a semiotic reading of the murals at Ouahigouya prison. It will involve questioning the signs that make up the paintings in our corpus in the light of semiotics, in order to expose the eloquence of the images. To this end, on the one hand, in the light of Groupe µ's visual syntax, we'll take a plastic look at shapes, colors and textures, then from an iconic angle, we'll focus on the triple relationship of elements: iconic signifier, type and referent. Then, in the light of Greimas and Courtés's theory of narrative, we will evoke the narrativity that derives from the narrative of mural paintings, invoking narrative syntax, the actanciel schema and possibly the semiotic square.

Abstract: The objective of this book is to analyze the determinants of the performance of Beninese banks based on secondary data collected on 10 Beninese banks. The study uses a linear regression econometric approach. The estimation of a panel data model that highlights the effects of banking determinants on the performance indicators of the Beninese banks. The objective of this paper is to analyze the determinants of the performance of Beninese banks based on secondary data collected on 10 Beninese banks. The study uses an econometric approach of linear regression. The estimation of a panel data model that highlights the effects of banking determinants on performance indicators, in particular ROA. The results show that liquidity, bank size, market share, capitalization and banking sector size contribute to the improvement of banking performance in Benin. They do not induce a good management of bank charges and bank products which can affect the performance of banking firms in Benin.

This book is the result of my research for my degree in industrial maintenance technology. It talks in particular about air compressors. Our work was to be able to supervise the start-up of compressors and control their operation from the control room. We start by presenting compressors in a general way, with emphasis on air compressors, we used the programming language "Grafcet" for this work. The simulation of the operation has been done with the software "Automgen". Thanks to this work, we have improved the production of electrical energy in the hydroelectric power station of Edéa in Cameroon. I leave it to you to appreciate the work and to bring points of amendment in order to perfect the next works.

With the psychoanalysis of consciousness in Giono and Le Clézio, it is always the case that at the beginning the consciousness of the characters reveals an instability in their vital element. This is how we find ourselves in a situation where the characters become aware of a nature that can provide them with a certain stability, a certain comfort.

The change implemented by Law No. 11.892/2008, which transformed the Brazilian educational system with regard to high schools, known until that moment as Technical, Agrotechnical and Federal Education Centers (CEFETs), as it promoted the integration of these schools throughout Brazil. In a special way, the Agrotechnical Schools, in a total of 39 (thirty-nine) units, lost the autonomy they had for being autarchies and joined the new management model. In Paraíba, the Federal Agrotechnical School of Sousa, which after the modification became the Federal Institute of Paraíba (IFPB), Sousa Campus. This change influenced the organisational culture and the organisational climate, modifying beliefs, rituals, values and despite being in an advanced stage, the organisation still does not have a real defined identity, requiring a more effective process of socialisation of the formal identity for this to occur.

When researching the data of companies registered at FIEB in the municipalities of the Territory of Sisal, in order to measure the development of rural companies in the territory of sisal and the urban-rural relations, a reverse process is actually perceived in the small town. This process is due to the fact that the registered rural enterprises are important for the dynamization of the economy, as well as for the generation of jobs, thus becoming an attraction for the inhabitants of the urban area. Considering that the quantity of urban companies is greater than the rural ones and that the main activity developed in the rural areas is linked mainly to mineral extraction and precious metals, it is understood that the municipalities of the Territory of Sisal, which historically had their economic production base in agave sisalana and livestock production, have been demystifying their production over the years and moving towards geological extraction in rural areas. What should be a development for the rural areas, the population has been dominating these enterprises, because they are better educated.

The book intends to show the relevant role of psychoanalytical psychotherapy. The possibility of building a fragmented self, the benefits that psychoanalysis provides as a process of improvement and transformation. Based on Freud's theory and post-Freudian actors, the study deepens the knowledge in the field of psychoses and psychoanalytic theory regarding the symptoms of this psychopathology, and above all, reflect on the possibilities offered by psychoanalytic treatment to psychotic patients, particularly those diagnosed as schizophrenic.

This book is dedicated to addressing important basics of soil physics and morphology, relief and management systems. The concepts presented are aimed at investigating their role in soil water conservation. A case study of the fundamentals discussed in the final chapter is also addressed. Thus, the content of this book contributes to fill existing gaps in water management for water regulation and supply. Such information can be useful in erosion control in agricultural areas, advancing the incorporation of soil hydrology in precision farming techniques, as well as in periods of drought.

The phase of provisional restorations is an important stage for the success of crowns and bridges, since several weeks pass between the preparation of the teeth and the cementation of the definitive restoration. The most commonly used materials for making temporary restorations in fixed prosthodontics are self-curing acrylic resins, due to their ease of use, versatility, low cost and adequate physical and mechanical properties. Besides, during the planning of a prosthetic treatment it is frequently observed the necessity of a very close inter-relation with Periodontics. Sometimes, the prolonged use of antiseptic solutions is necessary.

Summary An emerging virus is one that crosses the barrier of animal species to attack humans and manifests itself in a new or unprecedented way. The objective of this work was to evaluate the perception and knowledge of health personnel at the Gabriel Touré University Hospital on emerging viruses, as the epidemics caused by these viruses are causing havoc in the world, especially in Africa, and therefore deserve special attention from all health actors in order to avoid another intrusion into the countries. This is a prospective and descriptive study carried out in February 2017. The survey concerned 280 permanent healthcare personnel (doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives, laboratory technicians, healthcare assistants) and trainees (medical and pharmacy interns) present at the time of the study. This work showed us that only the Dengue virus was less well known, while the symptoms of the diseases, the solutions used to inactivate the virus, the modes of transmission, the preventive and protective measures for most of these viruses were well known by our respondents, and that this knowledge was not linked to age or sex but to profession

Tumours of the oral cavity are neoformations that develop at the expense of the tissues that make up the stomodaeum. They may develop during life and may be linked to a risk factor, or they may develop during intrauterine life and be related to an embryonic remnant or genetic lesion, or in utero exposure to certain inducing agents. In addition to the literature on the embryology of the face, malformations and congenital orofacial tumours diagnosed antenatally, we report two illustrative clinical cases: one with fibrous dysplasia associated with a mandibular cleft, a velo-palatal cleft and a bifid tongue, and the other with a teratoma of the tongue.

Law 2015-912 of July 24, 2015 on intelligence, as a Text amending the Code of Internal Security, has a recent existence. It has provoked many reactions, so much so does it authorize the use of sophisticated techniques to gather information necessary to prevent any form of attack on the fundamental interests of the Nation. Analyzed from a human rights perspective, the Act complies with the Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights, insofar as it contains sufficient guarantees. The aim of this study is to assess the proportional application of the Law. However, a careful analysis of the law reveals possible ways of circumventing it, which can sometimes lead to disproportionate interference with human rights.

Our concern in this study is with the way in which dissertation jury members assess and rate the research reports defended by candidates during examination sessions. We wonder whether the variation in marks awarded is normal, converging towards an average trend insofar as detailed reading and marking criteria do not appear to be uniform and consistent. What's more, defense juries are not given sufficient guidance, and are therefore left to their own discretion, when judging the value of previous briefs. This approach seems to give examiners more freedom to indulge in sentiment and thus stray from objectivity. As a result, divergence between jury members is likely to increase further, even though we know that divergence of views is not a bad thing in itself. However, the problem arises when the threshold of acceptability is crossed. In other words, when reviewers get carried away by subjective variables, far from the established criteria of appreciation.

The didactic evaluation of spelling in primary and post-primary schools is of vital importance, as pupils experience many difficulties in spelling words during assessments. As French is the official language of oral and written communication, students need to master it better to facilitate learning. The research addresses theoretical aspects, a problematic, a conceptual framework and a literature review. The methodology is followed by research questions, hypotheses and objectives. The research aims to identify the difficulties encountered by players in dictation evaluation, analyze them and find remedial solutions. It lists suggestions for improving pupils' spelling skills in dictation.

This book aimed to identify the history of polyamorism in Brazil, as well as the rules that should guide the formalization of the union of this form of family constitution. This study used the inductive method, which allowed to demonstrate the legality of polyamorous unions in the Brazilian legal system, in addition to bibliographic research and indirect research (doctrine and case law). Initially demonstrating the evolution of the family until current times. After these analyses it was sought to clarify the possibility of family constitution beyond monogamy demonstrating the need for ampliativa interpretation of the right put, beyond the minimum state intervention in the right of the families, with the valorization of the right to the search to the happiness. At the end is presented issues related to "polyamory" to finally demonstrate the possibility of generating effects, of personal order.

Cartas da Dramaturgia aims at a historical reflection on the discussions implemented by dance with regard to its dramaturgies. It presents some of the questions that have instigated various choreographers since the 18th century who have been concerned with the communicational possibilities of the dancing body, especially with regard to the relationship between form and meaning materialized by movement as a means of producing language.

We have seen that the FCFA system is derived from the Ecu system of the Kingdom of France, which operated in the Middle Ages at a time of complete barbarism. By basing their hopes of development on such a system, the leaders of these African countries using the FCFA have behaved like a modern-day doctor who relies on the recommendations of a medieval physician in order to distribute health to his clients. These countries still haven't understood that the FCFA system turns monetary instruments upside down, due to their ignorance of what these monetary instruments represent as economic measuring instruments. As a result, the populations of these countries find themselves reduced to hostages, destined to finance the French Treasury for the rest of their lives in the hope of achieving development. The aim of this book is to build on this anti-economic experience with the FCFA to create a high-performance economic system that is totally liberating for the users of the FCFA and not for its owner.

Herodotus' prose narrative is a constant dialogue in which opinions about a subject are exposed to its addressee, the listener-reader, either through the words of the historian or through the voice of his characters. His work is based on the way of knowing that is related to seeing, but mainly to listening, after all, this historian's narrative is based on testimonial information. Herodotus writes according to: what he heard, akoêi grápho (HDT, II: 123); what is said, tà dè legetai gráfo (HDT, IV: 195); what the Greeks say, katà tà legómena hyp'Hellénon egò gráfho (HDT, VI: 53). In turn, the addressee, on receiving his narrative, is invited to express his opinion as well. It is this intense dialogue between Herodotus, the characters in his Histories and his listener-reader that produces an effect of a popular assembly held in a political community guided by democracy. Herodotus is a narrator in the Benjamian sense, for he does not intend to construct a synthesis for the reader. On the contrary, his listener-reader is constantly invited or even summoned to reflect and elaborate a personal opinion.

Even with technological advances, new construction techniques and the use of better quality construction materials, a large number of buildings are still showing various types of pathologies. Research has shown that pathologies occur in almost half of all buildings. However, only the accidents of greatest proportion and that require to determine responsibilities are published, leaving aside those that do not imply immediate risks. Based on the pathologies identified in buildings in the city of Rodeio Bonito - RS, and on the bibliographic studies carried out, this paper sought to address the procedures for identifying and correcting structural pathologies, seeking quick and feasible solutions in order to correct the problems and extend the useful life of the building.

The fight against the sanitation shortage in Brazilian territory remains a fundamental principle and guarantee of quality of life for residents adjacent to large points targeted with contaminated waters, and how this problematic interferes in chain in the scenario of a city. In this study, carried out in the city of Conceição do Coité, in Bahia, the impacts of the lack of proper disposal to waters after use are related, considering the important relationship of waters with the community and the entire region, since the object of study is located in a region where the lack of water is still a routine problem. From this perspective, this work analysed the water problematic in accordance with the four pillars of sanitation in the search for an effective, sustainable and viable solution to the conditions of the object of study.

According to Article 5.3 of the Protocol establishing the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (Ouagadougou Protocol), "The Court may permit individuals and non-governmental organizations having observer status with the Commission to file applications directly with it in accordance with Article 34(6) of this Protocol. Article 34(6) in turn makes the admissibility of such applications subject to the "declaration by the State accepting the competence of the Court to receive the applications set out in article 5.3 of this protocol. From the spirit of this provision, it gives to the States parties an automatic access to the Court, while it remains a barrier for the individuals to access to the international and or continental justice because until now, a very reduced number of the States parties to the charter has already made a similar declaration, that is to say 8 States out of 32 that have ratified the protocol In our opinion, to face this problem, the African system should be nourished by the experience of the European system of protection of the human rights which allows the individuals to seize it.

The book presents the results of evaluating the effects of plant extracts on the control of the flower bud fly (Dasiops sp) of passion fruit (Passiflora ligularis).The results indicate in the percentage of population incidence of the flower bud fly in passion fruit at 45 days of intervention, the lowest Dasiops sp/trap/week were recorded in the plots treated with rue extracts, followed by the paico extract treatment, however, at 60 days post-application, the falls/trap rose to 50 adults/trap, and at 75 days, 20 adults/trap. The higuerilla treatment registered a constant decrease from the first week of evaluation, ending with 27 adults/trap. In the percentage of infestation in the first fifteen days of intervention, the highest percentage of damage was recorded for the higuerilla extract treatment (36.87%), the paico and ruda treatments recorded between 15.21% and 18.93% respectively.

Severe acute colitis is a serious complication of ulcerative colitis (UC). It can be life-threatening for the patient. Its definition is based on a set of clinico-biological and/or endoscopic criteria. In the event of any outbreak of UC, severe acute colitis must be ruled out. Therapeutic management is multidisciplinary. It must be rapid, first of all eliminating a complication requiring emergency surgical treatment. Several molecules are currently available in the therapeutic arsenal for this entity. The difficulty in managing it is to entrust the patient to the surgeon at the right time.

There is a malaise in representative democracies where the will of the people is expressed by elected representatives who govern. Citizens are dissatisfied with, or at least suspicious of, leaders. The question of selecting leaders in whom the people can recognize themselves, and vice versa, is all the more important since the professionalization of political life has become essential in political life in general. Very often, political responsibility is summarized in criminal responsibility. This book supports a different form of political responsibility with a strong ethical dimension, where actors focus on the values of living together, reporting to constituents. It is then a question of acquiring a way of thinking, of saying and doing things together, in all responsibility. How can we achieve this or how can we facilitate this political responsibility and develop a democratic culture among the people for the good of all? After an overview of the media and their effects, of the democratic ideal and its concrete applications, some possible solutions have been proposed in this book.

Este trabalho tem por objetivo fazer uma análise comparativa de materiais compósitos, submetidos aos ensaios de tração uniaxial e flexão em três pontos, compostos com a resina poliéster do tipo teraftálica e fibras de vidro-E, na forma de tecido bidirecional. Through the mechanical tests a comparative evaluation of the behaviour of the mechanical properties such as modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, rupture deformation and maximum stress was carried out. The manufacturing process of the composites was by manual lamination (Hand-layup), using five layers of reinforcement. For the mechanical tests mentioned above, the ASTM 3039 (traction) and ASTM 790 (flexion) standards were followed. It should be noted that for comparison purposes of mechanical properties, part of the specimens were immersed in oil for a period of 365 days (1 year), and another part was exposed to the same period in oil and then exposed to accelerated aging with simultaneous action of temperature and humidity. The accelerated aging was based on ASTM D5427 standard. At the end, the laminates under study, were submitted to the final fracture characterization.

Our research focuses on the analysis of the speech made by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Matebe hydroelectric dam in the province of North Kivu in December 2015. The aim is to study the content of the messages in his speech at the inauguration of this power station. We took a semio-pragmatic approach to this subject. The inauguration of the hydroelectric power station was organised by the governorate of North Kivu province, headed by the governor of the province, Julien Paluku Kahongya. The event was preceded by a number of events, including speeches by the partners and reactions from the public, in particular the Head of State and the American partners. These events included, for example, the performance of Congolese music and dances on the themes of peace, war, poverty and so on. In this study, we have accurately interpreted the content of the message or speech by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and given meaning to the content of the message, both spoken and unspoken.

This book aims to contribute to the strengthening of the studies of the Cinchona species genus, in the generation of knowledge on the history, biology and plant physiology, to promote the conservation and preservation of the species C. officinalis in degraded ecosystems of the southern region of Ecuador.
